PLEASE HELP! I'm desperate! Problems with buttons.

Hi there,
I've tried a few different forums on the net and so far there has been no reponse to my problem below. My coursework is due in tomorrow and I'm at my wits end.
I am really new to Flash and am having a problem with my application. I have created a button that I want to use to activate some pre-recorded film. I know I need to use some code to do this, however I can't seem to get it right.
I have deleted the film from the library as I thought it may be a problem in how I imported the .flv files, so I will need to reimport these (with some advice on how to do it right).
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:

Urgent!!!! please help!!! problems with visual j++ and jbuilder

I have been worried about this problem since a long time. I couldn't get any help figuring out the problem. I am using microsoft visual j++ 6.0
I have tried putting the rt.jar file in the class path but its getting me out of the compilation errors and not this runtime error.
I faced this problem with many codes.
When i used the jbuilder as one of the users suggested, i am getting this compilation errors,

Didn't we hear this from you yesterday? Sounds too familiar. If so, we told you you're using a MICROSOFT product (Visual J++), which is OLD, and not up to the SUN's java specification. We suggested that you dump Visual J++ and go with something like JBuilder, Forte, Visual Cafe, etc.
This is a SUN site in support of SUN's java - not Microsoft's outdated and non-existent (anymore) version.

I got a Toshiba A205-S5804, as long as it was used I'd erase all from the hard disk with the recovery disk. The problem know is when I try to run the recovery disk it gives me a message:
ERROR 08-064B-000
PARTITION CREATION FAILED
And then the computer shut down.
Please help me

A "Partition creation error" sounds like a hard drive problem. See if you can partition and format the hard drive with a different program or operating system. If you can't, it is a hard drive issue. If you can partition the hard drive with some other software, then it maybe a problem with the Recovery CDs. You can order new Recovery CDs at Toshiba's InTouch Center at 800-457-7777.

Please Help ... Problems with Page Breaks

I am rather new to Adobe LifeCyle and am having problems with sections not contining to the next page.
I have tried to read information on allowing page breaks and overflow, but I am very confused.
On my warnings tab I have warnings about page breaks, but do not understand what they are saying or how they should be fixed.
"Although the object is allowed to break, deselecting the Allow Page Breaks Within Content option of the parent object from breaking between pages."
Since I can't attach files .. I am not sure how to demonstrate the problem. If there is work around to sending files, please advise and if someone could help, I could email the file.
Any help would be greatly appreciated .... I feel like I am going in circles.

Have you tried increasing the volume when the earphones are unplugged). I'm asking just because many users don't realize that the iPhone keeps two separate settings, one for plug output, one for built-in speakers.

I have tested the below problem on 2 desktop and 2 laptop Windows systems with the same result. Would you please test this procedure and report whether you do or do not have the same results.
I am assuming that the systems you use are the latest with all updates installed.
1. Start Photoshop and open any image file. Click on the move tool and see that you get the normal tool cursor.
2. Navigate to http://www.layersmagazine.com/working-with-text-in-flash-part-2.html (uses Flash 10 as the tutorial engine).
3. The tutorial should start automatically. While it is running switch to Photoshop and verify you still have a move cursor.
4. Switch to the tutorial and click on the flash icon to watch it in full screen mode. Watch it for a couple of seconds. Press ESC to return to normal size mode.
5. Switch to Photoshop and look at the cursor. On the 4 systems I have tested this on, the cursor changes to a hand and remains a hand no matter what tool icon is clicked.
Sometimes closing the tutorial and Photoshop returns everything it normal functioning. I have reported this to customer service. Sometimes I have to reboot to cause it to happen.
I would like to determine if it just the 4 systems I have tested or if others experience the same problem. Thank you for your help.

Please help meeee!! Problems with library and syncing on new laptop

Hi I've bought a new laptop and want to start using itunes on the new one, however:
Problem 1- Even though I've enabled both devices and have clicked on the home sharing, only the songs I have purchased from itunes show in my library and playlists (I managed to import my playlist titles by copying the file and emailing it to myself but it won't show songs other than those purchased from itunes) How can I get the library to show the 500 odd songs I've painstakingly spent importing to itunes on my old, slow laptop? If I have to do them all again I may just have a breakdown!!!
Problem 2- Have imported a CD into itunes library using my new laptop but it won't show on my ipod after syncing it. I think I have enough space cos the bottom bar says 3.26 GB free!
I'm really not very techie and don't use itunes much so there may be something glaringly obvious that I'm doing wrong. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it

Home Sharing doesn't really matter, if you plan to stop using the old computer for iTunes.

You should use the method titled External drive. If you use this method, you can ignore the rest of the document.
The details are in the document, but to summarize this process (so that you have the "big picture" before reading the details)...
You are copying your iTunes folder from the old laptop to the external drive, and then copying that iTunes folder from the external drive to the new laptop. When you copy the iTunes folder to the new laptop, you are replacing the existing iTunes folder. The next time you start up iTunes on the new laptop, it will use the iTunes folder from the old laptop, and it should look like iTunes running on the old laptop.
When you read through the document, it may be easier to understand if you keep my "overview" in mind. Please ask any questions you may have about the "details" in the document.
NOTE: If you have new songs on the new laptop that are not in your old laptop's iTunes library, you need to keep the existing iTunes folder on the new laptop. After you have successfully transfered your iTunes folder from the old laptop to the new laptop, and everything is OK when you run iTunes on the new laptop, THEN add the new songs. This is in the document.
You should put Problem 2 aside until the above is completed.

Please help... Problems with windows and bluetooth

My computer has been working without a hitch for the past 3 months but just recently i bought a bluetooth mouse to use with mac and windows. But then I noticed that there are some major issues now.
I have a Bluetooth devices icon in my control panel (actually two of them, i dont know how that happened) but in the device manager, there is no apple bluetooth kicker. No bluetooth hub at all. So I dont know if the driver actually installed or not.
Then, I try booting back up the macintosh drivers for windows cd to use the uninstall, but it can't uninstall. It only installs. I tried uninstalling through add or remove programs and it still just installs over again.
Please, somebody help me. I'm about to rip my MBP a new one.

PLEASE HELP!!! Problem with Java and SQLServer Text data type

I have a java app. that reads from an MS SQLServer database. Originally, all long text fields were declared as NVARCHAR(200). The program worked fine.
Someone then advised that I change all long text fields to the TEXT data type. The program now crashes out with the following Exception:
"java.sql.SQLException: [JRun][SQLServer JDBC Driver]This ResultSet can not re-read row data for column 25."
Basically, I have a method that retrieves a resulset and iterates through it. The resultset is passed to another method during each iteration. In the example below, the 'specialNote' field used to be NVARCHAR(200). The code worked fine. Then when it was changed to TEXT, the program no longer works with the above Exception thrown.
Anyone know any special way SQLServer TEXT data types need to be handled?

Thanks for the suggestion. I originally had the code do what you suggested, ie, get the resultset then retrieve the data all within the same method. The data is then used to set properties in an object.
When I had to create another method that also retrieved a resultset but using a different primary key, then also use the returned data to set the properties in the same type of object, I didn't want to repeat the setter code. That's why I decided to pass the resultsets to the same method that did the property setting.
Unfortunately, it stopped working with the data type change.
Any other thoughts?

PLEASE HELP! TONS of problems with MBP

Just recently my computer has been getting very poor battery life and is getting VERY hot. I have istat pro and it says that the battery's health is in the 70s and it keeps going down. Overall the computer is running slowly and very hot (about 160-170 degrees F). I'm not sure what I should do, but I definitely think i deserve a new battery -- the battery life is literally less than an hour and a half. Just a week ago it was 3 hours! This isn't the first time my computer has experienced problems, it doesn't go to sleep when i close the lid half the time either. I bring it to classes every day and usually it lasts the whole time (over 3 hours). Now it's really screwing up.
Again:
-My computer is running extremely hot (60 degrees F ABOVE normal)
-It's battery health is in the 70s and the life is an hour and a half (even less)
-It doesn't sleep when closing the lid
-It's running slower and slower every day.
What do I tell apple? What can I expect them to do?

do what i said in your other post if your battery is over a year old have the apple store try a new battery in the macbook but be careful if you do not have the membership the guiness bar will charge you so ask before they look at it if they will charge you buy the battery you can always return it. but its difinitely the battery like i said in the other post i had the same problem 1st got it would run for 3-4 hrs then about 1-1 1/2 then nothing unplug the powercord nothing .the 1st sign was when i had it on my lap it burn so bad i had to unplug it and shut it down..so far i had this new battery for 1 month lets hope it keeps up again good luck!

I haven't gotten a new sim card because the problem has been presenting itself in various cards not only mine. So far, all I've done is reset my network settings.
Last night, I turned off the 3G tab and it had all the signal bars. Today, I did the network reset and it's working apparently. But like I said before, previously the bars just disappear and the iphone only has the 3G activated.

Z10 not working at all please help in solving this problem

Z10 has been stuck in "Preparing Blackberry HUB" mode for hours despite several restarts and battery pulls. Five swipe solution to restarting HUB only results in screen flashing on and off. Frustrated. Any ideas appreciated. Phone calls too not working, cant receive email, text messages or launch applications although preview screen seems to be working.
Have reviewed other threads for solution with no success. Would rather not use security wipe option.

I would start with a Security Wipe:
To perform a Security Wipe please follow the instructions below. Be sure and use BB Link to make a full backup before proceeding with the wipe:

Once the wipe is complete you can restore your backup. Keep in mind that data in the backup may be the source of the original problem and restoring it may restore the problem, as well. To alleviate this I recommend not restoring the Settings portion of the backup.
