Please help me on java Logger......

Hi,
can anyone give me a good tutorial link on java Logger?
one more doubt,
In logging, in the log file the info is saved in XML format.
How can i change it to normal text format?
pls help.....

Hi,
I guess, there is one tutorial for logger in java site...if not, try log4j tutorial of apache...both are the same. As for as ur question is concerned - if you dont specify a log formatter, java loads the default formatter from $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/logging.properties
If you check there, by default you will have
java.util.logging.FileHandler.formatter = java.util.logging.XMLFormatter
u can change it to java.util.logging.SimpleFormatter
if you go through that properties file, i think it would be more than sufficient than beating the bush for tutorials. ;-)

    My c++ code is:and
In this code we are using some variables. with QT GUI in c++. You didn't code that. Liviu Lalescu code that, not you.
He has rights on that code and he published it under gpl.
So you must say that it is from him, not from you.
Also if you "translate" (modify) his algorithm you must still care about the gpl. Please read whole gpl and care about that.

compare original code from Liviu at sourceforge or at his homepage:

  • Can Someone Please Help With A Java App.

A while back, I had a program that I was working on, while taking Java in a Web Design & Development course -- this was back in 1999 -- not having the mindset of a programmer I failed that part of the course misrably. I had to do the following program, but you can see why I failed, I only managed to write to lines of code. I am wondering if there is anyone who can write it to the following criteria, maybe even make it graphical...I am hoping to try and write an XML backend to it like I wanted to do in 1999; unfortunately I lost the code that someone was nice enought to supply after I failed that part of the 6 month course...so if anyone can help please let me know. I want to try learning Java again, but it would be cool to see the following in working order again. If you're wondering why I still have the following, I just found it again while going through my Experts Exchange postings.
    import java.awt.*;
    public class CourseMarks extends Applet {
Of course I think this is wrong, but here is what I need done:
Define a class (data structure) to represent the people taking a course. For each person, you should record their name, their mid-term mark, their final mark, and any other information you think is relevant (hint: how do you find all the people in the class?)
    A) The Applet/Program must be called CourseMarks
    B) Write the class in Java
    C) Create a variable called courseList to record students of a specific course, then write code to initialise it with information about three students.
    D) Letter grades are to be awarded to the people taking the course, and you have to write a method to translate the final mark to a letter grade for each person. Letter grades are awarded as follows: 0-49.99 = F, 50-59.99 = E, 60-69.99 = D, 70-79.99 = C, 80-89.99 = B, 90-94.99 = A, 95 and up = A+. Write a method in Java and show how you would invoke it on courseList
    E) Write a method to compute the class average for the mid-term mark (hint: follow your links), and show how you would invoke it on courseList.

Also, describe your project set up. Sometimes these things can happen if your workspace is not configured correctly (like two library projects that import each other for example).
And I assume you checked to make sure you aren't actually out of RAM?
    *edit*
Also, you mention editing eclipse.ini, but I think you actually need FlashBuilder.ini in your FB install directory. Mine looks like this:
    -nl
    en_US
    -startup
    eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.1.0.v20100507.jar
    --launcher.library
    eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.win32.win32.x86_1.1.1.R36x_v20100810
    --launcher.defaultAction
    openFile
    -vmargs
    -Xms256m
    -Xmx512m
    -XX:MaxPermSize=256m
    -XX:PermSize=64m
    -Dorg.eclipse.equinox.p2.reconciler.dropins.directory=eclipse/dropins
    -Declipse.application=com.adobe.flexbuilder.standalone.FlashBuilderApplication
If you are doing something that's particularly memory intesnive, try changing:
    -Xmx1024m
    -XX:MaxPermSize=512m

  • Please help me with java packages...

    Hey guys,
Im pretty new to java and I have some questions on packages.
My friend gave me a bunch of .java files. Now, each of the files has package edu.nyu.sejava.gc.util; as the beginning.
I know that the package name = directory structure but Im not sure on other things.
Do I have to put all of the .class files in a directory
C:\edu\nyu\sejava\gc\util? Is there a specific way I need to compile the files?
I compiled the files with 'javac -d c:\classes *.java' and the class files were put in a dir C:\classes\edu\nyu\sejava\gc\util. However, when I try to run one of them, I get
    C:\classes\edu\nyu\sejava\gc\util>java LogTest
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: LogTest (wrong name: edu/nyu/sejava/gc/util/Log)
Im confused. Why doesnt it see my class def for LogTest?
Any help is greatly appreciated. :)
    Thanx
    Flack

Run the class using the full name. e.g.
    java edu.nyu.sejava.gc.util.LogTest
Make sure the classpath includes c:/classes and/or the current directory.

  • Please help break our java parser

    Hello,
We are working on making a Java code parser that will insert timestamp before and after any synchronized events (including wait(), notify() and notifyall()). It will parse in the source code, remove comments and carriage returns (replacing with spaces). It will then replace { with { , ; with ; , and also have
    while(stringA.indexOf(". ")>0)
    replace(". ", ".");
We'll then splitting the source code by spaces and check each of the tokens to see if they are a synchronized method. If it isnt then simply return the token however if they are we will add our logging around the token and then return that (i.e. logHere(); wait(); logHere().
Is there any other possibilities that are not covered by the way we parse a Java code?
Thanks for your help and time!
    -Team NN

The problem I have is I can make the tree using an array but I need to know how to turn this into code to make the RegularExpression object to be returned.
ie if RE entered by user is a|b, I know how to make it |ab in array
if RE entered by user is ab, I know how to make it .ab in array
I need to know how I can than use this to recursively generate the RegularExpression object. I don't have trouble with + and '|', but I dont know how to use a recursive method to return new sybol
Example: If Regularexpression is abc I am able to get a string from the array .a.bc
How do I make this a RE object. The tree is right associative so I know you have to use a preorder traversal, any ideas.
Thanks for the help before hand.
    Thank you

  • HT4592 Please help identify proper Java update

I am trying to upload photos to an outside vender and it requires JAVA (which I must not have the latest version of because the site directed me to install it).  I am using Mac OS X version10.5.8. If I choose About Java Preferences it says I have Java 6 Standard Edition version 12.9.0.  Please tell me how to find the correct update.  Thanks so much for your assistance.

The final Java update for Leopard was Update 10, 29 June 2011 - This release updates J2SE 5.0 to 1.5.0_30, and updates Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_26. J2SE 1.4.2 is no longer being updated to fix bugs or security issues and remains disabled by default in this update. Support for out-of-process Java applets on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard has been removed with this update.

  • Please help: Running a java script form the windows command line.

    Hello forum,
I'm trying to run a java script from the command line on
windows but I always get the "Failed to open document" alert.
I typed the following in the run command line:
    "flash.exe" C:\Documents and Settings\Hasan.Atieh\My
    Documents\science\java scripts\testing jsfl\get_files_mx2004.jsfl
now I copied and pasted the path of my java script file from
the windows explorer address bar so I'm sure that the java script
file exists in the specified path.
Any thoughts why am I getting the message!!

 never mind... issue resolved. I didn't quote the java
script file path but thats because the help documents on flash
    didn't say that.
this is what flash help say:
To run a script from the command line on Windows:
Use the following syntax (add path information as required):
    "flash.exe" myTestFile.jsfl

  • Please help with Sun Java System Communications Sync crashe with IEx 7.x

    Dear All!
Recently i've upgrade my IExplorer to 7.x version. After that i began to have problems with Communications Sync (latest version). When i try to sync Outlook 2003 with the server (SSL connection/ self signed certificate) the Comm Sync asks if i want to allow to open connection with wrong certificate (happed only after installing IEx 7.x) and then when i press YES it crashes.
Any help on how to fix this problem is appriciated.
    Konstantin
P.S.: Adding a self signed certificate to IEx DB and adding the website to the trusted websites list did not help.

    Hi,
Not sure how much we can help with this issue - especially if you are already running the latest version of the sync tool. About all I can offer is to uninstall your current sync software and reinstall the latest public version:
    http://sunsolve.sun.com/private-cgi/getpatch.pl (search for patch #124734).
If that doesn't help I suggest you log a sun support case for this (assuming you have a sun support contract that is).
    Regards,
    Shane.

  • Please help me with java

    Hi,
I've finally able to get Java running on my mac again. But in the process I delete an unrecoverable folder. Without it, anything written with ObjCJava will not run. Can someone be kind enough to zip up your copy of this folder and let me download it? or email it to me?
    /System/Library/Java/com
    Thank you. Cool
Oh, I forgot the mention that I'm using 10.4.6 on MBP. So I would appreciate if it was from an intel mac, thanks.

    Hi,
Thanks for your suggestion. But those files are not included in the java update. Those are the ObjCJava class file that apple wrote, not sun. And the only way to get it is either reinstall Tiger or copy from someone else's computer. And I would prefer to skip the pain or reinstalling.
    Cheers
