I have created a master details pages, containing information/details of various people i.e firstname,secondname, registration no, marks, grade, then I have created a login page that after login it direct the users to that master details page with information, what I want is, when a user log in(he/she will be directed to master details page), let the master details page display his/her information only,without showing other person information,.PLEASE ASSIST ANYONE THANK YOU

Please Help Session variables disappear

Hi. I am having issues with the developer's version of CF MX
7. I recently set up the developer's version on a test server, and
moved over code from a properly working site using MX 6. I have an
application.cfm file set will the correct <cfapplication> tag
attributes, and the session management is set in the CF admin. When
working on MX 6 the session variables I set were working. Now using
MX 7 none of my sessions are holding. When I first login the
sessions exist, if I click any other page, the variables disappear.
Again, this does not happen on MX 6.

Please Help: Session context sharing between wars in same app

I'm using iplanet iAS6.0 SP1.
I have to share a session among 6 wars inside my application.
I have tested individual wars and they work fine. Now during integration
i find that session is not being shared.
in my application descriptor i have included all the wars and I have
used the same context-root name for all war entries.
On of the wars is a login.war and it sets some user previlages info into
session which has to be shared among all wars.
I'm not able to get it working.
My settings in each war for session info go like this,

Thanks-- that wasn't exactly the solution, since the dates and times are correct and IP addresses on both machinges should have been handled by DHCP, but you solved my problem by reminding me that there is a TCP/IP extension, which I looked at and saw that TCP/IP was turned off. I turned it on, and now everything is as it was an hour ago. So thank you!

Please Help | Dyanamic variable based on another field

In the query below, I'm attempting to replace task codes with task descriptions by left joining to a multi-purpose control table.
In our corp, the description for the task code varies based on the value of change_program in each record, so rather than referencing the value of code_index.tabl statically as I do in the query below (201), I need a dyanamic variable to be defined for each record based on the value of work.change_program, which would represent the value for code_index.tabl.
     For each record

          elseif change_program =2 then v_tabl = 202
          elseif change_program =3 then v_tabl = 203
          else v_tabl = 201
BTW, I'm really a noob, so I have no idea how to declare and use variables, but I'm sure it must be possible. Any assistance with the syntax would be GREATLY appreciated.

Javax.servlet.* Not Found Error - Please help

I am having a great deal deal of trouble trying to compile a program using javax.servlet and javax.servlet.hhtp.*. I have setup the JAVA_HOME and the CLASSPATH variables as per the Installation instructions. I appear to have hit a brick wall and I am absolutely desperate to get this working. I have installed the J2EE SDK as well as the Servletapi2.1. Please Help.

I can only think of three suggestions.
One, use your mouse to "cut-n-paste" the value of CLASSPATH and verify that those files are exactly where you think they are, and are spelled right.
E.g.
CD C:\JDK1.3\LIB
DIR SERVLET.JAR
Two, if they're spelled right, run "jar tvf" on the files to make sure they aren't corrupted or something.
E.g.:
JAR TVF SERVLET.JAR
Three, since you're working in Windoze, try putting the value inside double quotes. E.g.:
SET CLASSPATH="c:\jdk1.3\lib\tools.jar;c:\j2sdkee1 ... etc ... "
If you haven't tried the above, give it a go, see what happens.

How do i filter recordsets using session variable??? Please help this is driving me mad...!!

I am having the same problem as user "Gabe the animator" in a post sent in 2007.
"my recordset that drives a dynamic table won't filter results based on a session variable. I know session variables are working because I have the session variable echo on the page (dragged-n-dropped my session variable from the Bindings panel to my page), and that works fine. I have created a PHP page that uses the Dreamweaver 'User Authentication' feature, and the basics of this works fine, directing a user to the correct pages depending on whether they are or are not a valid user. Firstly, the text highlighted in red above appears to be setting the session variable that I require. Is This correct?
If so, what is the code that I need to place in page 2 to use that session variable? or
Do I need to do something else on page 1 to properly assign the session variable?

It looks as though you've set the columns incorrectly in the User Authentication server behavior. This is the SQL query that checks the user's credentials:

You're looking for firstname and surname, whereas you should be looking for the user's login name and password.
$_SESSION['MM_Username'] is a session variable that stores the user's login name. To use it in a subsequent page, all that's needed is for the page to begin with session_start(). You can then echo the value to display it.
If you want to display the person's real name, you need to create a recordset in the second page using $_SESSION['MM_Username'] to find the firstname and surname. Alternatively, you can edit the existing code like this (I've copied only part of it):

I have created a user 'Bitest' and group 'Bi_Test_Group'. Assigned the user to the group and the group to BI consumer role.
I gave access to only procurement and spend catalog folder reports and Dashboards.
When I login to BI Presentation Services with above created user and open any procurement and spent catalog dashboard i am getting below error in every report.
Its BI Apps 7.9.6.3 installation.I gave read access to group to all procurement and spent subject area.

Need Help With Redirect That Uses Session Variable

I am new to dynamic sites, php, and developer toolbox, but I have been able to create a login site using the different form wizards fairly easily (in CS3 with Developers toolbox).
 
 I am trying to set a server behavior on a page that redirects the user to a new page if a session variable matches a recordset.
 
 I was using an extension (PHP Sessions - http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&extid=681308 ) that worked great, but when I installed developers toolbox, it stopped working (get error message about runtime/MX environment).
 
 Ive been struggling for days and this is what Ive come up with so far:

Session Variables Help

Hi, all. I posted questions before when I was stuck, and you
all were very friendly and helpful. I am having difficulty
understanding how to create, POST() to, and then REQUEST()
information stored in session variables using Dreamweaver. I am
developing the pages using PHP, and have a MySQL database uploaded
and working. Displaying, editing, and adding to the database is
ongoing, as I type!
Adobe has thankfully started the session for me with the
<?php if(!isset($_SESSION)) { session_start(); } ... because I
have a log in/log out server behavior on the pages.
I need to add two pieces of information collected from the
page, one value of which is inputted by the user on a form, and the
other value is obtained from values from the part of the recordset
shown on the page. What I expect I need is something like a
2-dimensional array to store both sets as a pair, but while I
expect I can do this, I am really not sure. The documentation ends
before fully explaining this part.
An example of what I am trying to do is a product detail page
from an on-line store catalog, with an "add to cart" button. The
person has navigated to that page, shows the information for
productID=1497 with an input field for quantity, so a person can
order more than one of that product if they choose, and an "add to
cart" button which would write the productID and quantity values to
the session variable. Is there a simple and easy to use Dreamweaver
feature I am missing that can do this?
If I need to code this myself, are there good resources for
figuring this out? What I've found thus far is either too basic, or
too advanced. I've been using Dreamweaver's Insert>Date
Objects> menu to get everything done thus far.
Of course, once the session variables are created I will need
to $_REQUEST() the information on a later page and display it on
one of Dreamweaver's dynamic tables. I hope that once I understand
how to $_POST() the values to the session variable, $_REQUEST()ing
the information on another page will be apparent.
Also, please don't assume I know anything more than what I
wrote in my post. I may be an old school programmer, think punch
cards and FORTRAN, but I can get lost easily on things most people

I got it fixed. It took two weeks to figure out the solution,
but...
It all boils down to the fact that you can get away with
sloppy programming if your MySQL database is located on 'localhost'
that you can't get away with if it is located remotely.
Basically, you need to activate the database before you make
a mysql_query. My bad. Problem solved. And now that I know I need
to do this, problem never rediscovered.

HELP NEEDED:: variable SESSION is undefine

Guys, help me out; PLEASE. I'm stuck on this for days and am
running out of options.
I have a CFC that checks some session variables for
validation (client login etc), and I have a RemoteObject call to
said CFC.
All my other CFCs that do not reference session variables
work fine; this one bunks right when my CFC checks the session
variables.
I tried webservices, no-go (hell, I couldn't even see the
faultString!!).
I played around with my CF8 server settings and tried
everything.
I tried Ben Forta's blogs (and posted a question there) but
didn't get much help,
HOW CAN I ACCESS A CFC THAT REFERENCES SESSION VARIABLES
WITHOUT CREATING A GET/SET METHOD TO GET/SET THESE SESSION
VARIABLES!!!! (Obvious security risk).

Sorry I wasn't clear in my description.
I do -in fact- have a CFC check my client's log-in and return
a true or false, however in subsequent site functionality, it is
the norm to see whether the session has expired or not. From Flex I
am using a RemoteObject call to a CFC; the CFC has the following if
statement:

Also, I did try to change my wrapper from html to cfm and
still no success. Not only that, but I've tried Webservices (which
failed miserably because I couldn't even get the details of the
SOAP fault!!!).
I built a test cfm page that tests my cfcs (instead of Flex
calling them, I had the cfm call the same cfcs) and Session
variables were defined and everything went well.
It so happens that when Flex calls the SAME cfcs, the SESSION
variable is undefined.
I hope this clears up my problem.

Is there any alternative for session variables..The project is based on j2ee-Struts frame work..But the amount of code maintainance should be minimum ....so i can't create beanforms for all these data...
Is there any XML based methods available...??

Formula Variables for Report Painter- Syntac error in formula, Please Help!

Dear Experts,
I'm creating the report where I need to calculate annualized P&L. The formula is as follows : (P&L account/Period(variable ))12*
I need to capture the From_period, which is entered by the user on the selection screen when running the report and use it as a variable in the formula above. Example: If User insert From Period 3, then the formula should be *P&L accoun / 3 * 12*
I have tried so many different way but nothing seems to work. one of the ways i tried was:
In the general selection Im using set variable 6P-S-PERIOVB.CCSS for period which consists of variable V_PERIO and B_PERIO.
So Im trying to create a folowing formula:
IF 1 >= u2018PER_FRu2019 AND 1 <= u2018PER_TOu2019 THEN 1 ELSE 16
IF 2 >= u2018PER_FRu2019 AND 2 <= u2018PER_TOu2019 THEN 1 ELSE 16
Unfortunately I keep getting Syntac error in formula. Please help me I'm really desperate to solve this issue after 5 days of unlucky research.

Thank you all for your help. The issue was that the variable was assigned to the different table as the library. After I changed it, it worked fine.

Loading the final static variables at run time.. Please help

Please help me figure out the best way to do this:
I need to load all my constants at run time. These are the public static final instance variables. The variables values are in the DataBase. How do I go about loading them.

Your original question was diffeent, but your further posts show what you really want to do:
1) all constants in 1 class
2) available readonly for other classes
3) updatable during runtime by changing in the database
Did I understand you right?
Then smiths' approach solves point 2):
Instead, make the variables available through a method
call - that way you avoid the whole final variable
versus read-only attributes problem.

Each "constant" should be a private static variable, and these methods simply return their values.
The variables are initialized in a static initializer by accessing the db. Ok.
You habe a table with one row containing as columns all the constants.
A method readConstants() does a "select constant1, constant2, ... from const_table" and sets all the variables.
The static initializer calls this method.
Right?
Ok, then you simply call readConstants() everytime you want to synchronize with the actual content of const_table.
