Plist flags key preventing importing of email from OS X 10.6.8 (Mail 4.6) to OS X 10.8.5 (Mail 6.6)

For some reason, the Mail client in Mountain Lion is skipping specific .emlx files on import. These files have a key named flags set to 33815683 in the plist at the end of the .emlx file.
Anyone know what that flags key is? Should Mail be listening to it?
If I change the flags key value to 33815681 the .emlx will import fine, so I can probably do a search and replace.

I solved the problem by following this advice from WZZZ
"Try moving the small 8.1MB Mail.app to the Trash. But don't empty it. Then download and install the Security Update again. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1586
Luckily I didn't empty or trash my original Mail and after installing that update (link above), Mail opens fine.

What do you want to import/export from?
I think you can do a dump of someone's mailbox using the imsbackup utility, but am not sure what format this gives you. Probably you can only import this into another iMS server.
Apart from that, you could look at what tools your mail clients have for saving and importing messages. I think Outlook express has an archive utility that you could use. To import from Outlook to the server, you could use the iPlanet sync tool. This will synchronise in both directions between the iMS mail server and various clients. These include Outlook, Windows CE handhelds, palms, etc. Basically, if you set this up to synchronise with Outlook, then you can import/export using anything that will interface with Outlook.
Of course you don't have to use Microshaft products. You could use any mail client to do this. Not sure about synching with other clients cos we've not done it.
I'm not sure how you can get hold of this synching tool. There were various beta versions floating around about a year or so ago and I would have expected that they would have released a supported version by now. Then again.....

well turn it off and see if that makes a change. After all IDLE is a server technology. If Google supports it and Yahoo does not then configuring Thunderbird the same means nothing. (I have no idea if Yahoo support it or not)

Is there a way to prevent Gift Voucher Email from going to Spam folder?

Everytime I send an email to someone with a Gift Voucher or Discount Code from the system generated emails, they always end up in the Spam folder on GMail, Yahoo, etc.

We have this problem too.
We have a vaid From email address and ours is hoted with you and your info link above says "If you are choosing to host your domain with us there is no need to do anything here. Based on our system architecture we are generating that SPF record so that all the emails sent from this domain will have include all the IPs from where emails are being sent and make sure that you will pass the SPF check."
Yet our gift vouchers and also our newsletters are ALL going to spam. It's happening to both our business catalyst sites - so is Business Catalyst being marked as a spammer and affecting us?

Can I import my emails from Outlook and Outlook express backup to Mail

I have saved a lot of my emails from when I was using PC, using Outlook. I have since just been using webmail.
I now want to import it into Mail, as I have an imac that I use all the time. Can this be done? If so how, and how easy is it?
Also is there a free way to do it, seen a few progs but have to pay for them.

How can I automatically import my emails from AOL?

Until I changed my AOL password last week (it got hacked) all of my email from AOL was automatically transferred to my Gmail account. My son set this up for me but he is overseas now in the military. How can I get Gmail to automatically "import" or harvest my AOL mail as it was doing until I had to change the AOL password?

Thunderbird erased many important, random emails from gmail and now they are not even on thunderbird. what do I do? It's been over 30 days.

I wanted to print all the emails from a gmail label. My googling suggested that Thunderbird would do this. I didn't see any warnings about Gmail's stealth setting that it would ERASE me emails from the server, but it did. And now Thunderbird has no emails in it, leaving me with years of lost work and pictures. It has been over 30 days since this happened, as I didn't realize it had happen as, oddly, it didn't erase all of the emails, just some (likely because Thunderbird crashed every time I tried to use it and didn't do a full pull of my gmail e-mails, but kept telling me it was out of space which it was not as I have a huge drive).
Does anyone have a suggestion regarding where I can find my e-mails? I tried to do a restore on my backup drive (where I had downloaded and used thunderbird) but it says there are no earlier versions. I am in the process of begging gmail to help me, but I don't know if they can.

Well, the only thing you can do is go to Gmail in a web browser and hope your e-mails are still on the server. If they were deleted there, then there really isn't a way to get them back. :(

I agree, unplug and replug your router, then reset your iPad by holding down the sleep and home buttons, ignore the red power down slider, and wait til you see the silver apple. let it reboot and then try your connection.
Chances are rebooting the router will help. You may also need to talk to cox. They may need to reset something on their end.

I need to see an important iCloud email from last year, but it's not in my inbox

I Need to read an important email that was sent to me last year. But after a couple months the read emails disappear from my inbox. Is there still a way to read it again. The email provider I use is @icloud.com

Email messages in your iCloud Inbox will not be deleted automatically. If you need to search for an email you received, you can do so by tapping in the Search field at the top of your Inbox in Mail.

How to config Mail to import latest email from host?

Hi, I have added a yahoo email account in my Mail.
However, when I enabled it and it always import all the mails from my account, it has nearly 6xxx mails...
Is it possible to config in Mac Mail, so that only import latest 50 mails etc. from my account? It is just like what we can do in iPhone.

The authentication is going to be an issue for APEX, as you can only specify an SMTP server which does not require authentication. I know - it is a limitation in APEX that I wish to address in APEX 4.0, but that doesn't help you right now. All I can suggest is to stand up a relay between APEX and GMail, have APEX push mail (unauthenticated) the relay and then use the relay to push it to GMail's SMTP.
Sorry I don't have a better suggestion.

I have older Eudora emails exported to an expansion drive that I would like to move into my new Thunderbird email program. Thunderbird only seems to have imported files from my isp email account and not from my most current Outlook account and does not seem to allow me to browse to find files I wish to import. Does anyone know how I can go about this?

Import other emails from The Bat

I have lots of emails on The Bat. I can export them as Bat .TBN files, into MSG files, or into EML Files, or into a Unix mailbox.
So what do I use to import them into Thunderbird? All I see in the basic code is from Eudora, Outlook, or Outlook Express. And I don't find any Add-Ons that import.

How do I prevent imported Illustrator files from have the jaggies in Flash.

My imported illustrator files have straight angled pipe lines and these have the jaggies when exported from Flash to Premiere or QT.
I have imported them as both vector and bitmap with no success. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I'm on a Mac running 10.8.2 and using Flash CS5.5.

To import your mail, launch Thunderbird, click the Menu icon, and then select "New Message" > "Get a new Mail Account". Click "Skip this and use my existing email". Enter your email information and you'll be done!
