Pls Share experience of upgrade to OBIEE10.1.3.3.x from 10.1.3.2.1 QF200

We had a sudden services stop in production and Oracle support has suggested to upgrade to the latest version OBIEE10.1.3.3.We are currently on 10.1.3.2.1 QF200
Our previous upgrade experience from Siebel Analytics 7.8 to OBIEE 10.1.3.2 was horrible.We had issues for 2 months after upgrade. So we want to be careful upgrading again.
Appreciate if people can share their experience if someone has upgrade to the latest version OBIEE10.1.3.3.x.
We are evaluating the worth and effort of the upgrade

we are designing a system for a new project.
Has anyone used JBoss Cache on Netweaver ? I've read the paper which is available here in SDN. But I am interested in field reports ?
How difficult was it to set up JBoss Cache in Netweaver ? How do you evaluate the performance gain ? And Memory consumption ? Stability ? Any unforseen problems ?
I would really like to hear your opinion. Even if you are still in a testing phase or decided finally against the usage.

We're also looking at JBoss Cache as a possible solution to maintaining static data in the cluster.
I've run JBossCache outside of the J2EE engine, and it seems pretty easy to configure - it comes with some default configuration files that make setting up a cache pretty easy. I've run some tests with about 120,000 cache entries, and performance seems to be pretty good. I haven't done any real stress testing, tho.
However, I'm not exactly sure how best to implement JBossCache in the J2EE container. I intend on creating a single cache tree for the project I'm working on, but I'm not sure how best to make this tree available to other apps running in the server. Using a singleton comes to mind, but my cache needs to access JNDI to initialize itself, so a singleton might not work properly (based on the premise that there is a race condition when trying to initialize a singleton in a J2EE container, and the J2EE spec says that you cannot used read/write static fields, nor should you use synchronized methods within a J2EE application).
My other thought was to use a servlet to initialize the cache on statup, and register the cache object in JNDI. But I still have other problems to overcome, such as how to make one node in the cluster the master, and let the master sync up the other caches (I don't want 'n' server instances synchronizing 200000 cache entries across the cluster - ouch).
So, I'm in the same position as you - I'm looking for guidance on these issues.

Opinions/Experiences on Upgrading to 10.1.2.2.0 from 10.1.2.0.2

I was looking into upgrading to the latest release of the forms/reports app server, and the readme is 160 pages. That's a lot of information to convey. Anyway, it seems to be divided into a database patch for 10.1.0.5, an AS Software upgrade, and a Metadata Repository upgrade to be applied in that order. I have a co-located metadata repository/OID infrastructure and two middle tiers, one being in a separate Oracle Home on the Solaris Box containing the Infrastructure.
If anyone has had any experience doing the upgrade, I'd appreciate your comments. Or, if you feel that there's no compelling reason to upgrade, and you recommend just applying the April CPU, I'd like to hear about that too.

It was a walk in the park really...
Step 1 is to apply the 10.1.0.5 DB update to your infrastructure DB (that was the longest part). After that, you just run the OUI for 10.1.2.2 on the midtiers, and then the infrastructure before doing the MRUA.
Only kickers -
During 10.1.2.2 application, my midtiers were configured for http on 80 and https on 443 requiring that the .apachectl and webcache were owned by root. As a result, you'll get an error about writing to those files during the patch application. I just renamed the originals and clicked retry and the file was replaced with the new one.
Following that, you'll have to redo the web cache setroot script and reset the ownership on the .apachectl file to root again.
Other than that...no biggie

It is believed that many people have the same experience like me, a 3-years-old PC which probably work but unbearably slow. No need to mention that when playing games, it lags all the time.
Now here I want to share an incredible easy way to upgrade your PC; what’s more, it’s free! No need any cost to make PC performance up!!
(you may say: ”What’s wrong with you?! I just wanna play a PC game, rather than mod PC. okay!?)
No worry please~ It’s the era of smart end users! For sure a higher C/P is a basic requirement. I am just talking about a better performance; it not must be along with extra costs. If you have this kind of concern, then “overclocking” may be the answer for you. In one word, overclocking (OC) is tuning you computer beyond the limit to an extreme performance. So that you have a surprising user experience just like bought a new PC without any cost.
Ok, it’s enough! I won’t boast of too much knowledge of overclocking because I don’t know much about it actually. (a truly overclocking….. means tuning voltage/ clock etc. OMG, who knows?! ahhahaha)
In fact I’m only talking about a button! Only one you need to do hold out your finger and press down the button, how easy it is. And then you can feel it get smoother when playing games.
This is what I’ve done. I make an experiment on Age of Empires II: The Conquerors, let's have a comparison of their differences.
First of all, let’s preview the configuration of my own PC:
Motherboard - MSI Z97 GAMING 5
Graphics card – MSI N750 Ti GAMING 2GD5/OC
CPU - i5-4690K 　
Power supply - CoolerMaster (1250W)
HHD - WD 3TB
Memory - WINTEC 1333/4GB DDR3
This is a close up of the model name. cause not every motherboard has this feature.
Let’s open CPU-Z on OS.
Then you can see this is Intel 4960K 3.5G, an original CPU without tuning.
Launching the game of Age of Empires II: The Conquerors HD version (single team of 500 people). BTW, it seems to reveal your age if you also know this game! Saying Age of Empires, which was the bomb of RTS games at that time.

Ops! I’ve told too much nonsense. Now I am showing you the differences of OC in the heavy loading condition of 8 teams with 500 people (stand-alone ver.).
Look at the bottom at left corner, you can see the Fraps number of 18. Merely 18 fraps when I tries 500 people per team. Yes, it’s true! A terrible number no wonder it lags over and over. Unbearable….. I can’t wait to try OC to see if it will be helpful.
So, let’s see how to use the easy OC feature- OC Genie.
To boost, press Del and get into BIOS. There is a button at the left upper side, click it and it will turn to red. F10 to saving and leave BIOS. and then re-boost the computer. That’s all.
(You can see a virtual button -OC GENIE. Just click it!)

(CPU clocks from 3.5G to 4G. which means you earn 15% performance for free!)

Impressive!! It becomes 27 fraps. Feel the smoother motions than before!!
Then, I’m going to check online game! Although Lineage II is not really popular now, I use it for the test because online game usually heavier loading and has higher requirement on PC spec.
The following two screenshots are the original one before OC (Default).
And check the below 2 pictures, those have better FPS improved after use OC Genie.
To summarize my test, here I listed the results to show how OC Genie did.
Through the chart you can find that on the condition of extremely heavy loading, the performance improved significantly. Thus, I think you can feel the differences when playing those games with complex computing such as Age of Empires or Starcraft II.
As for the normal MMRRPG games, OC Genie also contributes almost 15% of performance up. And it even optimized the pictures.
This is my test report of an easy way to make PC performance up and free of money. Share with you guys and wish it is hopeful for you

Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure.

Use compaign CD from OAS 10.1.2.0.2 - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/101202-095224.html or from RDBMS Compaign CD.
But check that OHS version and mod's that you need to use.

Problem: this mac is not reading an excell file after upgrading to yosemite.   My Mac is from 2009, it use to work perfectly but it wasn´t able to open some apps, thats why i upgrade it.   Now it once i donwload the zip it appears with an ".ods" ext

If the "it" refers to a compressed (zipped) spreadsheet that you downloaded, the ".ods" extension is used by LibreOffice and probably OpenOffice (which are free versions of MS Office) for spreadsheets, which would suggest that wherever you're getting that "Excel" file from has switched to one of those programs. I've tried opening an .ods file from LibreOffice using MS Office 2013 for Windows and it does open though with a warning that some things have been changed. I don't know if Office for Mac can normally open .ods files. But if your need is to just open .ods files, take a look at LibreOffice.

The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

Rentals are one-time only downloads, they will not show on other devices/computers for redownloading.
If you rent a film on your iPad or Apple TV then you can only watch it on that device. If you rent it on your Mac then you can move it from there to your iPhone or your Apple TV (if it's a first gen Apple TV) : FAQs about renting movies from the iTunes Store :
If you rented the movie on your computer, you can move it to an iOS device or Apple TV (1st generation). To do this, connect the devices and sync using USB. When you move a rented movie from your computer, it will disappear from your computer’s iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as much as you want, but you can only have it on one device at a time.
If you rented the movie on your iOS device or Apple TV, you can’t move it to any other device.

That is definitely odd, grantcool. Let's help restore this important data transfer feature. To confirm, when you connect the USB cable to your phone and computer > Pull down the Notification Bar > Select USB Connected > Can you choose Media Sync (MTP) ?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You already have got Pages 5.0, but you still have got Pages 4.3, so Pages 4.3 is being opened instead of the newest version, being this the reason why you get a message telling you to update Pages to the most recent version.
If you don't need the old version, open a Finder window, choose Applications in the sidebar and delete the old Pages icon or move it to an external drive. I don't recommend you to do this, as users are complaining about the lack of features of the new version.
Instead, what you can do is to put the new Pages icon in the Dock by dragging it from the Finder window to the Dock, so you can open the new Pages version from the Dock and you can open all your documents with it after opening the application

Normally, if there are any updates for your version of PSE then they should be offered to you automatically. However, you can also check if there are any new updates by going to:

If your camera is relatively new then even by getting the updates you may not be able to edit raw files from the new camera because old versions of PSE are normally not updated as soon as the new version hits the market. We are currently at version 13 so version 10 was stopped long time ago. However, you can see a workaround at this link where I posted a video to get things moving:

If you have a processor of 867 MHz or faster and a minimum of 512 MB of RAM, you can run OS X Leopard, updated to 10.5.8.
That's as far as a G4 can go.
