Plz help me my computer restarts by itself
Hello
I got an msi k7t266a pro 2 motherboard. I got it about 7 months ago and it was running great until i got a new hard drive. I got an 80 gig hd. When i installed winxp and started browsing and playing games it just restarted by itself. I updated the bios to 3.0 and changed the settings in bios but it didnt work. So i installed the old hard drive and the same thing was happening. It just restarts.
Is there anyway to fix this?
Did i damage the motherboard?
amd athlon xp 1700+
MSI k7t266a pro 2
80 gig hd
512 ddr ram
Sound blaster llive
Netgear dsl modem
geforce 3 ti100
Iv spent 7 hours changing the settings in bios and fixing this and i dont know what to do..
thanks
I wouldn't be to quick to start looking at forums for the infinite loop problem. You can spend days reading about it and not even have this as your problem. You can tell for sure if this is the problem however. All you have to do is disable the automatic reboot and then you will receive a bsod which would say "your computer has become stuck in an infinite loop". It will specifically say infinite loop. If it doesn't say this, you most likely need not worry about this. Your computer can be rebooting for any number of reasons, you need to find out why first. Disable the automatic reboot and post the error you receive in the bsod here.

Dual boot computer restarts by itself shortly after it has been shut down or put into sleep mode
Hello,
I have Toshiba Equium L40-14I (old) and dual boot Vista and Linux.
A few days ago I noticed that while in a Linux operating system and when I put it to sleep (suspend) it would do so, but then immediately come alive again. The same thing happens with the shut down option. In Windows Vista it is the same. It does shut down, but in a few seconds restarts again and shows the normal options of choosing which operating system I want to boot. The computer only stays shut if I pull the power cord (it has no functioning battery) or it I forcefully shut it by pressing the power button for a few seconds.
So far I tried this:
- BIOS: 1. Changed to default factory settings. 2. Disabled wake-up on LAN and disabled wake up on keyboard.
- Device Manager, Network adapters, NIC, Properties, Power management: unticked the option that allows the adapter to wake the computer
- Device Manager: all drivers seem to be ok
- Virus scan: although this is probably not the issue as it happens independently of which operating system I am using. I have not installed any strange programs.
- I started from the Safe mode and then shut down. Same thing happened: it restarted automatically after a few seconds.
- Disabled automatic restart on system failure. It didn't help.
English is not my first language, sorry for the perhaps unclear way of describing this issue. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.You have done just about everything I can think of. You didn't mention doing a System Restore. If you haven't done one or even if you have, do a System Restore back to at least sometime before this started happening. If the first one doesn't work, try a different restore point and do it again. If that doesn't work, you need to consider a full HDD recovery to out-of-box condition which procedure is fully covered in your User's Guide. I'm sorry I don't have a link for it but yours is not a U.S. machine and this site is for U.S. machines. It appears to be a U.K. model with support covered by THIS site.
BTW, I wish the native Americans who post on here did as well as you have so you have to make no excuses for your English.

Help! iPhone 5 restarting by itself! Battery level won't change after charging.
HELP!
I have a 3 month old iPhone 5 that was recently updated to iOS 7. After a few days of use, I noticed after a night of charging, which I always do, the battery level indicator and percentage did not change. Next, in my carpool ride in to work, when using the iPhone, randomly the screen would freeze, then turn a random color and would shut off and restart.
Then all of a sudden it was fine, no issues.
Then today, the same thing is happening. The battery level, freezing/color changing on the screenscreen/restarting issues are back.
I don't know whats going on. Never had an issue with any of 3 past my iPhones.
Thanks in advance,
JoshI'm sorry, it seems that the problem is that my phone WON'T restore. I just tried restoring again and it keeps giving me the 2001 error. Help.

Error 9: This error occurs when the device unexpectedly drops off the USB bus and communication stops. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB isolation troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

'Your computer restarted because of a problem' - PLEASE help
Hi
I need some help with my MacbookPro. It keeps crashing when trying to work at Photoshop CS5 or when opening video on Skype call! I have OS X version 10.8.2. Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5 and Memory 8GB. It's about 2 years old. I use WD My Passport external drives. I use it for work and Photoshop is a crucial part of my everyday work and im UNABLE to use it at the moment.
I took it to Milton Keynes Apple Genius store in September 2012 where they emptied and reinstalled the whole operating system. Full clean up.
After that, my macbook pro worked ok but recently started to crash and auto-restart AGAIN saying 'Your computer restarted because of a problem'.
Please help with some advice what to do. Do I really have to do a full clean up again??? Can't possibly keep doing this.
Is it possible that the new OS doesnt like Photoshop CS5 and Skype video?
Many thanks in advance
Eneka

Skype seems to have no problems with 10.8.2, but PhotoShop CS5 most certainly does.
Adobe is the one to address for your issues, apparantly they want you to upgrade to CS6 which has no issues in 10.8.
Your problem is two fold, one it's Apple's fault for their rapid OS X upgrade cycle that is freindly to Apple selling hardware and to consumers, but severly unfriendly to professional users who need consistancy in their "tools" to remain functional.
Adobe and other developers capitalizes on Apple's rapid OS X upgrade cycle to force more money out of users.
My suggestion is too consider very carefully BEFORE upgrading OS X so your third party programs are functional, make clones of your previous machine so you have a means to revert in case the upgrade doesn't go as smoothly as anticipated.
Most commonly used backup methods
Your options at this point seems to be to consult on the ADOBE forums and find out if and when a update to CS5 will (or will not) be made as to work with 10.8 and if not your options at upgrading to CS6.
Apple is a consumer products company, if you require more stability in your hardware, operating systems and purchased programs, you may want to consider switching to a Windows 7 tower, which are still available if you look for them. Windows 7 will get support and updated until 2020, OS X only for a year then your forced to upgrade it yet again.
Apple is becoming less and less of a professionals choice for computing, and quite frankly that's how they publically have stated is their agenda, to focus on only the consumer tech gadget market. -

Thunderbolt Bus:Hi there Symon83,
Diagnosing a recurring kernel panic can be difficult. If you would like to avoid this process, or do not know how to perform any of the following steps, consider bringing the Mac to a Genius at an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for assistance. Be sure to ask that, if the drive needs reformatting or replacing, they contact you about escalating your case to a special data recovery service. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries only). Take a look at artilce for further troubleshooting steps.

Plz help! my ipod no longer gets charged when connected to my computer
as the topic suggests, my ipod with video(5.5G) always shows that its fully charged when connected to my computer. but it wasn't like this a period of time ago, i wonder why. plz help me. i now dare not to transport more than 1g files to my ipod in case it would run out of battery and sth worse may follow...
since my computer is old with a celeronA 533(overclocked to 760, not a big difference), i closed lots of the system services which i think are useless, maybe that's the problem? but which service should i start? ipodservice.exe is always running when i connect my ipod with my pc
btw, i must say sorry with my poor english, hope you understand what i meanIf you mean that when plugged in it shows the iPod being fully charged but when you disconnect the battery is actually dead, then you probably have a defective battery.

when i attach my iphone 4 with computer it shows one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it,now what can i do ..plz help me
I would first try unplugging All the USB devices plugged into your computer, and then plug back in just the iPhone and see if that is recognized. Also, do you have the latest version of iTunes for Windows installed on your PC, as you need to?
Hope this helps
