Populate ADF DVT Graph with List and DataControl

How Can I create some java classes exposed through the DC and use those data to create graph.
I do not want to create tables in a Database.
Any sample code?
Regards
JO

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. that 's where my issue is.
When I create a simple method
public List<Employees> getEmployeesWithParam(String parameter) {
List<Employees> returnList = new ArrayList<Employees>();
return returnList;
When I drag and drop the return List, I can create the graph but the attributes are no more accessible to build the Axis...
Whereas with
public List<Employees> getEmployeesWithParam() {
List<Employees> returnList = new ArrayList<Employees>();
return returnList;
I can access the attributes
Wery strange.. isn'it?

  • ADF DVT graphs drillAction

    I am following the link to eanble drilling in my ADF DVT graphs - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/apirefs.1111/e12418/tagdoc/dvt_graph.html
    It describes DrillActions as
    drillAction String Yes Refers to a backing bean method. The method will be processed when a label slice on an axis is drilled.
    1) How to make the label slices drillable?
    I am using a data control to plot my graph.
    I have added drillingEnabled, and drill listeners to my code as follows, but its not working
    <dvt:graph shortDesc="Graph" id="g1" value="#{bindings.EmpGrpViewObj1.graphModel}"
    drillingEnabled="true"
    drillRequestingListener="#{pageFlowScope.backing_test.onClickDrill}"
    drillRequestedListener="#{pageFlowScope.backing_test.onClickDrill1}"
    animationOnDisplay="auto" animationOnDataChange="alphaFade"
    />
    Also I am follwoing link - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/apirefs.1111/e12418/tagdoc/dvt_pivotTable.html
    which says Drill operation is available only when underlying data control supports it. Does same applies for graph as well? I mean, if datacontrol used to define graph, then it should support drill operation. How to make data control to support drill action for graphs?

  • Draw graph with vertices and edges

    Hi, all,
    I'm trying to generate a graph with nodes and edges by using Swing. The problem is I want to generate the graph automatically, which means the program need to know how to put the nodes so the edges among them won't have to cross the nodes. The free software i can find online now can draw nodes and edges, but still need the user to specify the position of the node. Please help me out if you know any such software packages! Thanks a lot in advance!

  • CRYSTAL REPORT GRAPH WITH DATE AND TIME

    Post Author: Dino Dentone
    CA Forum: Charts and Graphs
    Dear forum,
    I am developing a Visual Studio .net 2005 Windows Form,i have a sql table with 2 field:1) DATA (date and time)2) Temperatura (numeric)I have to make a line graph with numeric data axes.I have insert two parameters' to customize the filtering, so i can have a graph of the temperature between to date and time.If i choose two date's and time (parameters) like 20/04/2008 00:00:00 trought 20/05/2008 00:00:00 i have no problemBut if a choose a range minor of 1 day (some hours like from 15/05/2008 00:00:00 trought 15/05/2008 08:00:00) i have no graph.It sound like it don't use the time values?Thank's for the Help.

    There is some debugging info on the website. I've had problems getting the text to work. It was generally that I installed either the wrong 'version' of ImageMagick (the recommended one works for me--I'm running Vista x64 and one time installed the x64 version and it didn't work). I also installed Ghostscript to get the font list to work correctly. At one time I installed the x64 version of Ghostscript and it didn't work with the plug-in, either.
    I installed two items:
    ImageMagick: ImageMagick-6.4.9-3-Q16-windows-dll.exe
    Ghostscript: gs863w32.exe
    I don't know if it is necessary but I also added the fonts from
    ghostscript-fonts-std-8.11.tar.gz to the c:\Program Files (x86)\gs\fonts directory. Some, none, perhaps all, may already be installed just by installing ghostscript--it has been so long that I don't remember exactly. I do know that the contents of the gs fonts directory contains all the files in the .gz, I just don't remember if I put them there separately or as part of the gs install :)
    You need to make sure the font size is large enough. I usually use about 2-4% of height and export a single photo to make sure I see the text correctly.
    Tim does respond to email when he can so if you can't get it to work you can always drop him a line.

  • ADF Faces - issue with Portal and af table

    I wonder if anybody could help me with a problem we are experiencing with running our ADF Faces app inside a portal (NOT Oracle Portal). We are using the af table tag with the rows attribute set as follows:
    <af:table emptyText="No items found"
    rows="10" banding="row"
    bandingInterval="1"
    binding="#{backing_ModuleSearchReg.table1}"
    id="table1"
    var="row">
    What this does is if we have more than 10 rows to display it will display
    a table header that has a label 'Previous 1-10 of nnn' Next 10. However, when you click on 'Next 10' it produces a Javascript error.
    When we run the app outside of the portal we do not get this problem.
    I believe this is related to known issues with JSF and Javascript inside a 'framed' web page. But if anybody help me with this or point me to a resource that can help it would be very much appreciated.
    Many Thanks in advance.
    Chris

    Hi,
    I remember a similar issue with inner frames that should be fixed in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3. The problem was that the ADF Faces JavaScript did not get the correct document root.

  • UI not getting change update when working with LIST and INotifyPropertyChanged

    i was trying to know two way data binding. i have simple car class which extend INotifyPropertyChanged for notify the change to update UI. bind List object to few textboxes and notice when one textbox value change then other textbox value not updated. all
    textboxes bind to same property. so one's value change should propagate to other textboxes.
    this is my code
    public class Car : INotifyPropertyChanged
    private string _make;
    private string _model;
    private int _year;
    public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged;
    public Car(string make, string model, int year)
    _make = make;
    _model = model;
    _year = year;
    public string Make
    get { return _make; }
    set
    _make = value;
    this.NotifyPropertyChanged("Make");
    public string Model
    get { return _model; }
    set
    _model = value;
    this.NotifyPropertyChanged("Model");
    public int Year
    get { return _year; }
    set
    _year = value;
    this.NotifyPropertyChanged("Year");
    private void NotifyPropertyChanged(string name)
    if (PropertyChanged != null)
    PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(name));
    This way i bind
    Car carTest;
    private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    carTest = new Car("Ford", "Mustang", 1967);
    List<Car> ol = new List<Car>();
    ol.Add(carTest);
    this.textBox1.DataBindings.Add("Text", ol, "Make", true, DataSourceUpdateMode.OnPropertyChanged);
    this.textBox2.DataBindings.Add("Text", ol, "Make", true, DataSourceUpdateMode.OnPropertyChanged);
    this.textBox3.DataBindings.Add("Text", ol, "Make");
    when run the code then Ford was showing as make name but when change value in any textbox then that change is not shown in other textboxes.
    the moment i change this line List<Car> ol = new List<Car>(); to
    BindingList<Car> ol = new BindingList<Car>(); then code started to work fine.
    My Question
    1) what is the difference between List and BindingList class ?
    2) can't we use List<> for my situation instead of BindingList
    3)
    this.textBox2.DataBindings.Add("Text", ol, "Make", true, DataSourceUpdateMode.OnPropertyChanged);
    this.textBox3.DataBindings.Add("Text", ol, "Make");
    see the above code and tell me what is the advantage of using DataSourceUpdateMode.OnPropertyChanged because i have seen if we do not use this code
    DataSourceUpdateMode.OnPropertyChanged then also data change is propagated to other textbox when cursor focus change.

    I would have thought that'd work with List<t>, in fact I think there must be something wrong in your code there.  I can't spot it though.
    I recommend use of ObservableCollection rather than BindingList.
    The default on bindings is that changes are propagated from the target ( view ) to source ( vm ) when the control loses focus.
    If you want to do the equivalent to a keydown event handler in a viewmodel then onpropertychanged is the way to go.
    You want to avoid creating bindings in code unless you really really have to, it's way easier to put them in xaml.
    Even if your ui is dynamic, you can build xaml and use that to create the ui objects:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/28797.aspx
    The difference between BindingList and List is, literally, iBindingList.
    See
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.componentmodel.ibindinglist%28v=vs.110%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
    What probably isn't very obvious is that BindingList fires an event - iirc  itemchanged when properties on objects in it change.
    Maybe you did something wrong in your implementation of inotifypropertychanged.  I must admit, I can't see anything there though.
    You don't really need those magic strings since .net4.5 and you also don't need to explicitly implement inotifypropertychanged you could use:
    public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged;
    public void RaisePropertyChanged([CallerMemberName] String propertyName = "")
    if (PropertyChanged != null)
    PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName));
    As used in this:
    https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/WPF-Dynamic-Fonts-ad3741ca
    If you try that sample you can have:
    public class FontDetails : INotifyPropertyChanged
    or
    public class FontDetails
    And you can see it still notifies change successfully to both windows.
    Most wpf devs will use observablecollection rather than List or bindinglist.
    Observablecollection notifies addition or removal of entries.  It can be used to notify an entry has changed, but does not detect change of property.  You would have to raise the event in code if you want to tell it an item changed.
    Hope that helps.

  • Is it possible to make a graph with drag and drop plots and use it as a control?

    I am trying to make a graph with multippel plots to use as a control, the plots should be drag and drop. Is this possible in LV 7.0 or do i have to use c++ or WB?

  • ADF BC - Detail with Multiple (and Optional) Masters

    My client has a requirement to render detail VO based on 2 different master VO selected from different screens. Another problem is the masters are mutually exclusive and optional (i.e. the foreign key from detail to master is nullable). So currently my AM looks like this
    Master1
       \_Detail
    Master2
       \_Detail
    DetailI didn't want to build multiple detail screens or use ViewCriteria to filter detail so decided to go with the solution described here http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2010/04/dynamic-iterator-binding-to-reuse-view.html. I was just wondering if there was a more elegant solution because our VO def is dynamically determined with el and due to this a new iterator binding is created whenever developers drag and drop new fields onto the page.
    JDev version 11.1.2.2

    I tried to change the layout components of the detail tables. Instead of tab sheets I used panel accordions to each table - after this everything works fine.
    My conclusion is that there are some problems/bugs when using multible detail table with model based LOV displayed in separate tabsheets.
    Anyone seen similar problems?

  • ADF: Problem with List and ListOfValues bindings

    In my page I have panelSplitter.
    In first facet I have panelCollection with ADF tree. For the tree definition I have Iterator binding, which contains the elements with no parent and one accessor, which define a recursive master-detail hierarchy. For the tree node I have specified TragetIterator property, that look up second iterator binding, which containes all tree elements (parents and their children).
    In second facet I have panelForm with input fields, based on second iterator binding. So when the user clicks on any node in the tree, it can see and edit in input fields the data for this node.
    In panelCollection I have placed two buttons to create a new node and to delete current node.
    By creation of new node I do the following:
    1) From currently selected node I get the value of one attribute named Code, which is alternate unique key;
    2) From second iterator binding I get the ViewObject, create a new Row and for the "parent" attribute I set the value derived from step 1.
    3) I rerender through PPR tree component and PanelForm with input fields.
    As result I have a new empty node in the tree and empty input fields in second facet, which must be populated and submitted (commited).
    My problem happens after I populate all fields in panelForm, when I commit changes (press Button with Commit action binding) and rerender page content. The exception, which is trown is listed below.
    I want to make the follwing additional remarks:
    1) My primary key in ViewObject is ROWID. I need this attribute to uniquely identify created new rows.
    2) The problem happens only when in panelForm I have field based on Model driven List or ListOfValues binding (<af:selectOneChoice> or <af:inputListOfValues>).
    When I create a new row the ADF BC assign to it one "dummy" ROWID (for example 317499) and after Commit this ROWID is replaced wtih actual ROWID from database. But I don't understand, why after commit of changes on the page the method findByKey of oracle.jbo.server.ViewObjectImpl is called with initial "dummy" ROWID (317499)?
    When there is no field based on List or ListOfValues binding, then there are no calls of findByKey method and there is no such problem.
    And that is the exception:

    ## Detail 0 ##

    I have resolved my problem. I have changed the type of list binding to be Dynamic List (not Model Driven List).

  • ADF Line Graph with dynamic series - can do ?

    I want to implement a drill-down from a high level line graph into a lower level line graph. The master graph may have 4 series in it, and each of these 4 series may have 6 - 8 different sub-series that need to be shown in the lower level graph (so up to 30 in all sub-series). Rather than create 4 of the lower level graphs, what I'd like to be able to do is create the lower level graph once using a VO which reads the master graph context. The definition of a graph model however in the ADF at first glance doesn't appear to cater for this. Have others done this ?
    Thinking that if I could:
    a) define the detail VO so that it used generic columns for the series amounts
    b) was able to override the series attribute name/label used for the legend etc. by way of code (backing bean?) for each series again based on context
    c) was able to optionally hide a series that was not needed (as defined by the generic detail VO) for a given master context
    ... then maybe I'd have a chance. But b) and c) don't look catered for.
    Anyone?
    Using 11.1.

    For the record, I gave this a go, and was able to get it working satisfactorily. There was no way as far as I could tell to set the visibility of a series. So essentially, what I've been able to do is set the series label to blank, set the line width to 1 (min, doesn't seem to honor 0), and the color to white to match the background of the chart ... for those series that are superfluous in a given chart render. It works fine except for the fact that if you've used the highlight rollover series effect, if you move the mouse over the legend area where the "hiding" series are, you get a bit of flashing on the legend entries that are displayed.
    Ideally, we'd have a way of actually taking these out entirely. If there's a way to do it, I'd be interested in hearing about it.
    Thanks.

  • ADF Faces components with HTML and DIV tags

    Hello all,
    I want to know if there a way to place a <div> tag within an adf faces component tag? eg. <af:table> tag and insert the div tag between </af:column>? I tried doing this by placing the div tag between columns and also enclosing it with verbatim tags, but a parsing exception occurs during run time. The purpose of this is to create frozen columns for horizontal scrolling.
    The code looks like:
    <af:table ...>
    <af:column headerText= ...>
    <f:facet name= ...>
    <h:outputText value= .../>
    </f:facet>
    </af:column>
    <f:verbatim>
    //DIV TAG
    </f:verbatim>
    <af:column headerText= ...>
    <f:facet name= ...>
    <h:outputText value= .../>
    </f:facet>
    </af:column>
    <af:column headerText= ...>
    <f:facet name= ...>
    <h:outputText value= .../>
    </f:facet>
    </af:column>
    <f:verbatim>
    //END DIV TAG
    </f:verbatim>
    </af:table>
    Thanks in advance.

  • Creating a simple graph with time and values?

    I think I'm probably just plain stupid that I can't seem to get this done, but I've been trying now for two hours and tryed the help section so some one please help!
    I have a table with quite a lot of columns.
    First column is the years, the other column are prices values for different regions.
    Why can't I pick two regions and plot them against the years????
    I can pick two regions and plot them, but then I don't get the years underneath.
    When I try to add the years, it also ends up as a value on the y-axis, while I want those as the x-axis.
    This can't be difficult... even in Excel it took me five minutes to get it, so why not here??????
    null

    A Scatter Graph takes an extra step (or two).
    Make Table with Header Row and create Columns for each data pair.
    Select data.
    Select Scatter Graph.
    Adjust X-Axis Ranges and Steps (Select Labels).
