Populate Data in a WebService Using ODI

Hello Everyone,
I have a requirement where i need to populate the data in a web service. I have data coming in a flat file needs to be processed by applying some transformations. After transformation i will be loading this data in a Oracle table first. Now this data has to be loaded to a Web Service.
In this Web Service i need to push the data into a particular Operation which eventually loads the data into target tables.
Could you please let me know your inputs?
Thanks in Advance,
Mansur Aulam

    Hi Venkat,
I have this url link that has historical temperatures ready and i want to populate my oracle table with the reading using odi. The like is http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/OLBA/2011/5/1/MonthlyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA&MR=1&format=1
In ODI I tried the Physical Architecture XML and defined a new Data Store and selected JDBC driver com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.xml.SnpsXmlDriver and in the JDBC URL
    jdbc:snps:xml?f=http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/OLBA/2011/5/1/MonthlyHistory.html?
I tried testing the connections I get a "Connection Failed" however, if i put the url in a browser it displays the content.
I am going about correctly or is there a correct way to it?
    Thanks

  • Problems with updating data in excel spreadsheet using ODI

That's my first post on this forum, therefore I'd like to say Hello to everybody reading it before I present my problem.
First I configured the ODBC connection to the xls file which conteins my data - the file isn't defined as read-only in the ODBC connection. The next step was setting up a Microsoft Excel Data Server in the topology manager in which I inserted the physical model and of course a logical one referencing the physical one. These steps allowed me to insert a model with my table in the Designer - I can view data throug the option 'view data' appearing after the right-click on the datastore. One of the columns was defined as primary key in constraints. I can use this xls file datastore as a source in an interface - loading the target finishes with a success. But I can't update the data in the xls file using the 'data' option appearing after right-click on the datastore correspondig to it in the designer. The new window with data from file appears without any problem, but when I try to update any of the fields I recieve an error:

  • GL Data load using ODI to Essbase

Hi, I am trying to load GL actual data to essbase application using ODI. Source file is having 10 columns and the Target is having 11 columns. We are using rules file to load data into essbase. Rules file will split 9th column as two columns and will load the data into Essbase. When we test the rules file in essbase data is getting load into application. when we use the same rule file in ODI interface data is not getting load and giving error as "Unknown member" for the member which we are spliting in 9th column. Source file: HSP_RATES ACCOUNT PERIOD YEAR SCENARIO VERSION CURRENCY ENTITY SFUND PROGRAM DATA HSP_InputValue 611101 Jul FY13 ACTUAL Final Local 0000 SBNR AC0001PS0001 25000 AC0001PS0001 is the concatenated string from GL. we will split this as two columns using rules file to load into essbase application. Please suggest what might be the reason for the error. How to do the mapping between source and target. I have mapping one column(AC0001PS0001) to two dimensions (Program, Activity) in Essbase. Please suggest. Thanks Sri

In ODI, what you have to do is to split it in the ODI itself. While you are mapping, you can use SQL functions to map it to two different columns. Similar to the way you are doing it in Rule file.

  • Using ODI to pull data from IBM DB2

Has anybody used IBM DB2 as a data source for essbase using ODI ? If so, do you have any tips, pointers specific to this DB2 specific situation, or better yet reading resources aside from the DBAG ?

If you want to understand about the various knowledge modules and how to set up DB2 technology in ODI then have a read of :- http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integrate.1111/e12644/db2.htm#CHDBJIBH
Once you have extracted the source db2 data then you would just use the IKM SQL to essbase data with a load rule to load data into essbase, I have covered loading data to essbase in my blogs.

  • How to process (populate & merge) XFA PDF Forms using Adobe library in Java

We have the XFA Forms (.pdf) created in Adobe LiveCycle designer 8.2 ES. We have the following requirement :
    1. We need to populate data in those forms using standalone Java programs.
    2. We need to merge the populated forms and create a single PDF out of these forms, using standalone Java programs.
Can both of these be done using Adobe PDF Library or Acrobat SDK?
What is the difference between Adobe PDF Library or Acrobat SDK?
We already have the licensed version of Adobe Acrobat Professional 9 with LiveCycle Designer 8.2 ES. Where can I get the relevant Adobe Java APIs from?
Can someone provide some sample code that could be used for the above requirements?
Please provide your inputs on these. We have been using IText, but facing some limitations in that recently.

The answer looks quite clear, and the conclusion is essentially simple: Don't use LiveCycle Designer.
Keep in mind that LiveCycle Designer originated as design tool for the according servers (that's way back in JetForms's days). For reasons I still can follow, Adobe decided to thow this design tool after any Acrobat Pro for Windows buyer. And the forms industry is now suffering from the mess that created.
Also, keep in mind that the term "Server" is used here as "service providing application".
Rants aside, was there a specific feature making you chose XFA (aka LiveCycle Designer)? Knowing these reasons can help us finding suitable workarounds.

  • Load Hyperion Planning to R12 Budget using ODI

    hi,
We are using Hyperion Planning v11 and Oracle Finance R12
We already setup the ODI repository (Topology, Context, etc) and was able to do reverse using RKM Essbase
Can anyone give us the steps/procedure on how to Load the Hyperion Planning data to Oracle Budget
    thanks in advance

Can you please share the knowledge of loading Essbase data in to EBS using ODI?
I heard you have to run concurrent program to post data in to GL. I am new to concepts of GL. Can you please share the information of the scripts you are mentioning and the knowledge to achieve the data load. Appreciate your help.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Is this Possible using ODI / ODQ ?

    Hi ALL,
Is the below requirement possible with ODI / ODQ?
(right now I am doing it mannually, and its like a monthly/weekly process)
If we can do the same using ODQ how I need to start and proceed?
My requirement is some thing like this. I have two columns
    Address1 (street address)
    Address2 (additional Information)
In some cases the address is not in the proper format. So I need to do some data cleansing (data scrubbing) before loading using ODI
Use Address2 if Address1 is PO Box, building name, or any info aside from a street address. Only one address column is needed in the output (Address1)
    For example :
    INPUT
    ADDRESS1--------------------------------------------------ADDRESS2
    HIGHWAY # ------------------------------------------------5010944 MARSH RD
PO BOX 40964---------------------------------------------1100 AA CORP PARKWAY
    DBA VANTAGE PP---------------------------------------11031 PERRY HIGHWAY
HOME INFUSION THERAPY SERVICES--------11031 PERRY HIGHWAY
    7275 BUFFALO ROAD----------------------------------(WAS 6855 BUFFALO ROAD)
    7601 N FEDERAL HWY---------------------------------#2506
    MCAS ---------------------------------------------------------(MARINE CORPS AIR STATION)
    212 BRADDOCK AVENUE------------------------------
    212 NINTH STREET----------------------------------------
    2138 JONATHON DRIVE---------------------------------
OUTPUT (Note : we don’t need the Address2 column in the output)
    ADDRESS1----------------------------------ADDRESS2
    10944 MARSH RD------------------------10944 MARSH RD
1100 AA CORP PARKWAY-----------1100 AA CORP PARKWAY
    11031 PERRY HIGHWAY-------------11031 PERRY HIGHWAY
    11031 PERRY HIGHWAY-------------11031 PERRY HIGHWAY
    7275 BUFFALO ROAD------------------(WAS 6855 BUFFALO ROAD)
    7601 N FEDERAL HWY----------------#2506
    MCAS-----------------------------------------(MARINE CORPS AIR STATION)
    212 BRADDOCK AVENUE------------
    212 NINTH STREET----------------------
    2138 JONATHON DRIVE---------------
I have posted a similar kind of question in DATA Quality (ODQ) forum

    Thread: ADDRESS CLEANING(US) USING ODQ
if any body is working on address cleansing using ODQ, Please guide me to start working on it.
IS there any specific documents for ADDRESS CLEANING which gives more information about the process flows such as
Transformer, Customer Data Parser, Sort for Postal Matcher, Postal Matcher, Window Key Generator,Sort for Linking, Relationship Linker, Commonizer, and Data Reconstructor.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Rathish

    Hi Rathish,
I was building the java code but I got other idea to make more simple.
    1) load the values into a temp table with one column for each address (means 2 columns per line) plus 2 other columns to control.
    Something like:
    table temp_data
    columns: add_1 , control_1, add_2, control_2
You can do that thru an interface. Let the fields "control" with no value when loaded
    2) create a table to storage the values you sent to me (Avenue, street...)
    table street_names
columns: street_name, country (to your future use)
    3) Create an ODI procedure (or you can customize a KM with the same technique)
3.1) Step 1 at target Tab, technology javaScript
    code:
    <@String vU=" ";@>
3.2.1) step 2 - Tab Source - technology "your database" and the Logical Schema where the "street_names" table as created
    select street_name
    from street_names
    where country = 'US'
    3.2.2) step 3 - Tab Target - tecnology javaScript
    <@vU+="or instr(upper(add_1),upper('#street_name'))>0 ";@>
3.3) step 3 - Target Tab - technology "your database" and the Logical Schema where the "temp_data" table as created
    <@vU=vU.substring(3);@>
    update temp_data
    set control_1 = 'Y'
    where <@=vU@>
3.4) step 4 step 3 - Target Tab - technology "your database" and the Logical Schema where the "temp_data" table as created
    <@vU=vU.replaceAll("add_1","add_2")@>
    update temp_data
    set control_2 = 'Y'
    where <@=vU@>
    4) Now you have a table (temp_data) with a flag "Y" where there is a street name and "null" where doesn't exist. Just generate your file by a interface or odiSqlUnload Toll.
Put all together into a package and you will have your process.
I create in this way to minimize the access to the temp_table, just 2 updates.
can be used some alternatives to tunning the hole process if the time doesn't match what you need.
That is a fast solution. Something more elaborated can be done if necessary.
    Does it help you?

  • How to use CrossReference and DVM in ODI &how to populate data into Xref

Can any one tell how to use Domain Value Maps and Cross Referencing in ODI?
DVM or Domain Value Map are created and used in ESB console of SOA suite.
My actual requirement is as follows:
The below steps describe loading data from ERP Application 1 to ERP Application 2.
    1. The Source Application ERP APP1, populates the interface table using their native technology.
    2. A job scheduler invokes the Source side ODI Package.
    3. ODI then extracts the data from Source Interface table and populates the Target Interface table.
    4. After populating the Target interface table the ODI populates the X-ref table with App 1 ID and generated common ID.
    5. The ODI either deletes or updates the rows that were processed from the Source interface table.
    6. On the Target Application ERP APP2, the native application extracts data from target interface table and populates target database there by generating ERP Application 2 ID.
    7. A job scheduler on the Target application invokes the ODI package to populate the Application 2 ID onto the Xref table matching on the Common ID.
I just want to know :
    1. How to populate data into the Xref table from Source datastore
    2. And if data is successfully laoded from target datastore to actual base table of target then how to populate the target id into the cross reference table.

can anyone suggest me some answer, then it would be of great help?

  • Use ODI to Extract Data from Hyperion Planning & Budgeting report to Excel

    Hello
Can someone tell me please how to Extract Data from (Financial Reporting in) Hyperion Planning & Budgeting into Excel Using ODI?
Would the steps be the same as Creating an ODI Project and Interface: Exporting a Flat File to a Flat File? If not, why?
    Best Regards.

Where do you think the financial reports get their data from? Financial Reports pull data from data sources such as Essbase, HFM.

  • ORA-01403: no data found Problem when using AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH to populate

ORA-01403: no data found Problem when using AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH to populate a form.
    1) Created a FORM on EMP using the wizards. This creates an AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH
    TABLE NAME - EMP
Item Containing PRIMARY KEY - P2099_EMPNO
    Primary key column - EMPNO
By default the automatic fetch has a ‘Process Error Message’ of ‘Unable to fetch row.’
    2) Created a HTML region. Within this region add
    text item P2099_FIND_EMPNO
    Button GET_EMP to submit
Branch Modified the conditional branch created during button creation to set P2099_EMPNO with &P2099_FIND_EMPNO.
If I then run the page, enter an existing employee number into P2099_EMPNO and press the GET_EMP button the form is populated correctly. But if I enter an employee that does not exist then I get the oracle error ORA-01403: no data found and no form displayed but a message at the top of the page ‘Action Processed’.I was expecting a blank form to be displayed with the message ‘Unable to fetch row.’
I can work around this by making the automated fetch conditional so that it checks the row exists first. Modify the Fetch row from EMP automated fetch so that it is conditional
EXIST (SQL query returns at least one row)
    select 'x'
    from EMP
    where EMPNO = :P2099_EMPNO
But this means that when the employee exists I must be fetching from the DB twice, once for the condition and then again for the actual row fetch.
Rather than the above work around is there something I can change so I don’t get the Oracle error? I’m now wondering if the automatic row fetch is only supposed to be used when linking a report to a form and that I should be writing the fetch process manually. The reason I haven’t at the moment is I’m trying to stick with the automatic wizard generation as much as I can.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks Pete

    Hi Mike,
I've tried doing that but it doesn't seem to make any difference. If I turn debug on it shows below.
    0.05: Computation point: AFTER_HEADER
    0.05: Processing point: AFTER_HEADER
    0.05: ...Process "Fetch Row from EMP": DML_FETCH_ROW (AFTER_HEADER) F|#OWNER#:EMP:P2099_EMPNO:EMPNO
    0.05: Show ERROR page...
    0.05: Performing rollback...
    0.05: Processing point: AFTER_ERROR_HEADER
I don't really wan't the error page, either nothing with the form not being populated or a message at the top of the page.
    Thanks Pete
