Populating values from popup

Hi,
Module pool program: I have 3 fields based one drop down select in the first field the 2nd filed values will get popup screen(F4), based on any row select here, those values should get into populate in 2nd and 3rd fields (table maintenance screen).
Till Popup I have done.
I am getting row values into an internal table but here i am facing problem is when i select row in popup only first field only populating the next field not getting.
Please suggest me

U said ur getting one field value from the popup. U can get the values that ur gonna show in popup in one internal table.
Get the single field value from popup which the user selects into the program and using READ statement get the remaing values from the internal table for the same and update in the required place.

Hi Kranthi,
Every webdynpro component has a global controller called the component controller which is visible to all other controllers within the component.So whenever you want to share some data in between 2 different views you can just make it a point to use the component controller's context for the same. For your requirement (within your popups view context) you will have have to copy the component controllers context to your view. You then will have to (programmatically) fill this context with your desired data in this popup view. You can then be able to read this context from whichever view you want. I hope that this would have made it clear for you. Am also giving you an [example|http://****************/Tutorials/WebDynproABAP/Modalbox/page1.htm] which you can go through which would give you a perfect understanding of all this. In this example the user has an input field in the main view. The user enters a customer number & presses on a pushbutton. The corresponding sales orders are then displayed in a popup window for the user. The user can then select any sales order & press on a button in the popup. These values would then get copied to the table in the main view.

Error while selecting NULL value from Popup Key LOV(numeric or value error)

I have a item P1_DEPTNO with following properties.
P1_DEPTNO - Popup Key LOV (Displays description, returns key value)
LOV - P1_DEPT_LOV

Named LOV - P1_DEPT_LOV
Display Null - Yes // changed to Yes, so that it can accept NULL values.
Null display value - NULL

I did the following change
Null display value - (blank) // by default it is displaying '%' in the select this
Null return value - -1
but when I select % (null value) from the popup list, it displays the return value -1 in the text field.
My question is why it is displaying the return value -1 in the text field...*It should display the display value in the text field (i.e blank in this case)*
then, I did the following change

Bold value from popup LOV

Hi,
style="font-weight:bold" or class="fielddatabold" in the element's HTML Form Element Attributes work perfectly for the text field. I cannot get the same result for field with disp.value from popup LOV (display value,return key). I can change font family for example, but cannot bold. Any suggestions ?

Thanks a lot for your answer. I got the same idea, but cannot see any place to manage returned values on this template. Description from pop-up key LOV seems to be turned "disabled", and will get the grey colour on the screen. However, if I will change to Select list, it looks fine.

Eliminating the null values from popup list item

i create a popup list,at runtime it shows a null blank value among the values i specified while the combo box is not,

i create a popup list, populate it in runtime with create_group_from_query builtin.
now when i run the form and click the list item, it display a null value among the other values which are
return from the create_group_from_query .

How to pass field value from popup window to oninput processing of other pg

Hi,
I want to pass a field value from the popup window to oninput processing of main page ( from where popup window is triggered). and need to close the popup window. How to do it ?
In the popup window's oninputprocessing, im doing some validation checks. If it passes all the validations, then only the control shd come to main page ..else it should stay in popup window only .

Hi Jothi,
you can use java script to pass the value and close your popup window. use the following code.
in your popup window:
function passData(h1)
         window.opener.document.getElementById('var1').value = h1 ;
         window.close();
then call this function when you finish your validations.
in your main page layout create an input field with id as passed in the function above "var1".
In the value attribute give it your variable as follow:
<htmlb:inputField id      = "var1"
                          value   = "<%= var2 %>"
                          visible = "false" />
"var2" will be assigned the value from your popup window.

How to default value from popup page to main page.

Hi,
Requirement:
I have a create page with table region of 10 lines.I have an icon for every line and on click of this icon, a popup window will be opened.
In the popup window i have quantity field with a table region. User is allowed to select the quantity. Also i have a ADD button on the popup page.
Now On selecting the quantity and click on add button, the quantity should be added and the sum quantity should be defaulted to quantity field in the main page.
For this requirement what i have done is
I have added the quantity on click of the Add button.and the total quantity i set to the quantity attribute that has been attached to main page.
But the quantity didnt get reflect to the main page. i think the focus is not retured o main page.
Please suggest me how can i do this requirement.

Hi,
As per my analysis for the issue, the control is returning to processRequest of the controller and when i set the attribute value, the value is being set and I am able to get the value and print it.
But the value is not displayed on the page.Here I am using Advanced Table Region, and I am not able to shoe the value.
I also created one view attribute and tried to set the readonly property to TRUE for the same field. I did in the same way, the value is being set and the field is made readonly.
The problem is I am not able to show value to the user, even the value is present in the view attribute.
Any pointers to this are really helpful.

How to calculate a value, based on value from popup menu?

I'm creating an estimate worksheet. In one cell, I have a popup menu containing service codes such as "DIS", "SP", "AD" and so on. Based on the selected service code from the popup menu, I would like for the next cell to display the correct rate for that service. For example, if "DIS" was selected, I would like the Rate to apeear as $110. If "AD" was selected, I would like the Rate to show up as $150.

You can create another reference table with your service code and cost. Then in the main table use the VLOOKUP formula to refer to the reference table and return the costs.
Example:
Table 2 (Reference Table)

1 Code ___Cost

4 AD _____$ 150
Main Table
_A ________ B

Dynamic popup does return value from popup window

have to create a page , with dynamic Popup using query. I am using APEX_ITEM.POPUP_FROM_QUERY(). Dynamic popup is generated, i can able to open the popup, when i click the link of the generated records. It does not return the value.
I feel that , it's like your error.

1. How can I open new window to a particluar URL on a button click event? I know in line, we have target attribute.
2. How can I pass the child window values to the parent
3. How can I refresh the parent window or parent page to to show the changed values in the child window and ofcourse close the child.

POPUP FM to get values from a table control?

I know about the FM POPUP_GET_VALUES to get one or more values from a popup dialog box. I would like to find a similar FM that allows getting values from a table control or something that allows entry of multiple lines of values. Is there such a thing, or do I need to write my own?

it depends on what values you want to enter, better write your own to have a control on the function.

Return values from a popup to calling form and refresh page?

Following thread Re: Popup report window from a PL/SQL proc.? I'm trying to pass the record values(checkbox + record values) to the parent windows (the retruned value is always a unique record). I was able to set the variables values with a procedure ( I vierfied in session state), but I'm unable to pass these values to the parent form and then refreshing the page. I tried the following thread without success : Refresh from Popup page
Any hint would be appreciated.

I have a button on a JSP of mine that when clicked creates a popup window (right now it is called popup.html) with a multiple select menu.
My question is how do I get all the values selected from the menu into my JSP (sample.jsp) so that I can set each of the values for my bean.
The other problem is that I have more than one select multiple menu.
Please help if you can. Any advice or suggestions here would be greatly appreciated!

I realize that I can use request.getParameterValues to get the values selected from my html because I am passing them to the hidden inputs I have and then using the request.getParameterValues to get each of the values.
MY PROBLEM IS WHAT IF I HAVE 4 MULTIPLE SELECTS??? How can I use the same html popup menu to get the values from the 4 different multiple selects????

How to get the value from one Popup lov column to another popup lov column

Hi,
I am new to oracle apex development and having the below issue.
In my application, there is a tabular form with 15 columns ( c1.. c15).
I have to populate the value of column C5 based on the selected(from popup lov) value of column C3, tried to use onchange, but didn't help much.

Oh boy, this is a fun one.
onchange should work theoretically (in this example, assume that f05 is the target column that should be set and "this" is the source item whose value is to be transferred to f05 on the same row (row 2)):
onchange=$s('f05_0002',$v(this));
BUT the catch is of course that needs to be different for every row (can't hardcode the '2'), so you need something to dynamically create the row number component.
I wrote this for an app I'm working on that uses master-detail forms heavily (I also wrote a lot more code to read the fmap array that is in v4 so that I can reference my cells via their column name and not the numeric position (so "f05 can be determined w/o hard coding), insulating against columns moving around, columns being made display-only etc. but I won't bore you with that here unless you really need to know).

So in essence, pass in "this" which will be a reference to the current item, largely to determine what row we're on. getRow will return 1, 2, 3, etc. formatRow will take that and return 0001, 0002, 0003, etc. Once that is done, it'll concatenate with the f05 and f04 to refer to the correct columns (determining f05, f04, etc. dynamically is another matter if you really need to but I didn't want to complicate this answer too much at once).
Note: above I also use a isThingEmpty() function that I wrote. It does nothing other than check the item for an empty string, if the item is null, etc. Just do your own evaluation of empty-string, no-value, etc. there.
It would indeed be nice though if Apex had a better way to delclaratively access the tabular form items though. Despite all the v4 enhancements, tabular forms were not entirely upgraded to the same full functionality of page items.

Error while populating drop down list with values from a database

UPDATE: I commented out the form, and added <%=floornumbers.size()%> right above the commented code to check if the ArrayList is indeed getting populated with the values from the database (the values are of type integer in the database). The page still freezes like before. I'm puzzled now :confused: .
