Popup from BADI implementation
Hi All,
I need to do some processing when an action profile is called from an activity. I am writing a new badi implementation for this. I have associated the same to the action profile.
Now, depending upon some data of activity, I need to show a popup to the user, to collect some more information. Based upon the information entered by the user, I have to call another program by supplying the gathered information.
Any idea how to achieve this? Calling a popup from method, which should return the gathered data?

Popup function would not have helped, as I needed to capture detailed inputs from the user.

I resolved the issue by creating a new function module & creating a new popup screen within the same function group. I used call screen to show the popup, collect inputs from the user & processing those inputs further in the function module.

Find programs from badi implementation names
Hi
I have a list of badi defination names from which different badi implementations can be found. Now using that all the programs which are using those implementations are to be found.
if we search in table TADIR with field OBJECT = 'SXCI' and the DEVCLASS = development class of the defination we can get the implementation names.
Now the next table is what i am looking, which can give the program names, which are using those implementations.
Need help with this.

and WBCROSSGT-name as 'IF_EX_ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST' i.e as a sample for BADI definition 'ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST'.
what you need to do is prefix 'IF_EX_' to the BADI definition name to get the list of programs for a particular BADI.
and you will get the complete list of programs.

Sending Email using cl_bcs from a badi implementation
Hi,
I have written my code to send Email, inside AFTER_SAVE method of BADI Implementation of DOCUMENT_MAIN01.
Now this method of cl_bcs requires COMMIT WORK for the mail to be sent. And inside BADI implementation, we cannot write a COMMIT statement.
What is a workaround for this? While going through few other posts, I came across remote enabled FMs.
Is that the only way? Can I use some additions like STARTING NEW TASK etc. Following is the call used in case of cl_bcs:

Business Add-Ins
Business Add-Ins are a new SAP enhancement technique based on ABAP Objects. They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.
As with customer exits (SMOD/CMOD [Page 40]), two different views are available:
In the definition view, an application programmer predefines exit points in a source that allow specific industry sectors, partners, and customers to attach additional software to standard SAP source code without having to modify the original object.
In the implementation view, the users of Business Add-Ins can customize the logic they need or use a standard logic if one is available.
In contrast to customer exits, Business Add-Ins no longer assume a two-system infrastructure (SAP and customers), but instead allow for multiple levels of software development (by SAP, partners, and customers, and as country versions, industry solutions, and the like). Definitions and implementations of Business Add-Ins can be created at each level within such a system infrastructure.
SAP guarantees the upward compatibility of all Business Add-In interfaces. Release upgrades do not affect enhancement calls from within the standard software nor do they affect the validity of call interfaces. You do not have to register Business Add-Ins in SSCR.
The Business Add-In enhancement technique differentiates between enhancements that can only be implemented once and enhancements that can be used actively by any number of customers at the same time.
In addition, Business Add-Ins can be defined according to filter values. This allows you to control add-in implementation and make it dependent on specific criteria (on a specific Country value, for example). All ABAP sources, screens, GUIs, and table interfaces created using this enhancement technique are defined in a manner that allows customers to include their own enhancements in the standard.
A single Business Add-In contains all of the interfaces necessary to implement a specific task. In Release 4.6A, program and menu enhancements can be made with Business Add-Ins. The actual program code is enhanced using ABAP Objects. In order to better understand the programming techniques behind the Business Add-In enhancement concept, SAP recommends reading the section on ABAP Objects

4) Choose the attribute tab. Specify short desc for badi.. and specify the type :

7) Dbl clk on interface name to start class builder . specify a method name (name,
level, desc).

1>First go to any transaction->iN THE menu bar SYSTEM->STATUS->Get the program name ->double click->u will go to the program attached to the tcode.Now search term will be CALL CL_EXITHANDLER.Now u will get list of BADI'S available..
2>Goto SE24->Give class name as CL_EXITHANDLER->Display->double click on get_instance mathod->Now u will go inside the method->Now put break point on the cl_exithandler.Now go to any transaction code and pass dat..U will see that it will be stopped on the break point which u set on the cl_exithandler...In the exit name u can find list of badi's attached to the tcode..
There are multiple ways of searching for BADI.
Finding BADI Using CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE
Finding BADI Using SQL Trace (TCODE-ST05).
Finding BADI Using Repository Information System (TCODE- SE84).
1. Go to the Transaction, for which we want to find the BADI, take the example of Transaction VD02. Click on System->Status. Double click on the program name. Once inside the program search for CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE.
Make sure the radio button In main program is checked. A list of all the programs with call to the BADIs will be listed.
The export parameter EXIT_NAME for the method GET_INSTANCE of class CL_EXITHANDLER will have the user exit assigned to it. The changing parameter INSTANCE will have the interface assigned to it. Double click on the method to enter the source code.Definition of Instance would give you the Interface name.
2. Start transaction ST05 (Performance Analysis).
Set flag field "Buffer trace"
Remark: We need to trace also the buffer calls, because BADI database tables are buffered. (Especially view V_EXT_IMP and V_EXT_ACT)
Push the button "Activate Trace". Start transaction VA02 in a new GUI session. Go back to the Performance trace session.
Push the button "Deactivate Trace".
Push the button "Display Trace".
The popup screen "Set Restrictions for Displaying Trace" appears.
Now, filter the trace on Objects:
V_EXT_IMP
V_EXT_ACT
Push button "Multiple selections" button behind field Objects
Fill: V_EXT_IMP and V_EXT_ACT
All the interface class names of view V_EXT_IMP start with IF_EX_. This is the standard SAP prefix for BADI class interfaces. The BADI name is after the IF_EX_.
So the BADI name of IF_EX_CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA is CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA
3. Go to Maintain Transaction (TCODE- SE93).
Enter the Transaction VD02 for which you want to find BADI.
Click on the Display push buttons.
Get the Package Name. (Package VS in this case)
Go to TCode: SE84->Enhancements->Business Add-inns->Definition
Enter the Package Name and Execute.
Here you get a list of all the Enhancement BADIs for the given package MB.
The simplese way for finding BADI is
1. chooes Tcode Program & package for that Tcode.
2. Go to Tcode se18
3. Press F4
4. search by package or by program.

BADI implementation is not working in background for MRRL

BADI: MRM_WT_SPLIT_UPDATE is used for deducting withholding tax in MRRL(Invoice verification). This BADI was implemented and working fine in foreground, but not working in background.
After implementing the BADI, the standard method of calculating TDS(from vendor master) is over written by BADI implementation.Now standard deduction is also not workijng in background.Plz help me to solve it.

COR6N is the Enjoy Transaction and sap does not suggest to write the BDC on these transaction as most of these transaction uses the GUI elements foe better display and which cannot be recorded while processing the BDC in back ground.
Check for the Normal transaction and write the BDC for it.

Pass X to Rcommit flag in the CTU_PARAMS option and check. -

You can call a method of a class from BADI. Here are the steps.
1) In the BADI implementation create a object for the proxy class.
2) Call the Execute_Synchronous method.
You can define a BADI by using SE18 and you can implement it by using SE19.

I need to throw a popup in Opportunity while saving with the text '........You cannot save' .It should have a 'OK' button.
This way i should stop user from saving the application depends on a condition.
I'm planning to use 'ORDER_SAVE' BADI to show this popup.Could you please tell me how to create this popup?

To call a popup you need to have access to the window manager which is not available from BADI. So this is something you need to do from the BOL layer itself. EH_ONSAVE should get called.
Anyway, to create popup you need to create a view in your component or if any of the standard desicion popups suit you, you can use that. You need to create a component usage for the view using a component (give the name of your component) and an interface view (basically a window, can be a new or old reusable window). In your runtime repository create an entry for the window and the custom view inside the window.
Next design the htm page of the view, whichever way you want. And add a button. This completed the view development.
Now to call the view as a popup, do like this:
lv_popup = comp_controller->window_manager->create_popup(
iv_interface_view_name = 'Windowname' "#EC NOTEXT
iv_usage_name = lv_comp_usage
iv_title = lv_title ).
duplicate_popup->set_on_close_event( iv_view = view_controller
iv_event_name = on_close_event ).
Do remember to create an event on_close_event, that you help you navigate back to the main processing.

BADI implementation for NOTIF_EVENT_POST not getting triggered
Hi All,
We have created an implementaion for the NOTIF_EVENT_POST. And it was working fine previously. Now it is not working for some reason. In fact issue is that the implemetation is not getting triggerd at all. I have put a BREAK-POINT statement in the code, but does not even goes into the code.
I have checked all the properties. It is active. The table V_EXT_IMP has a entry corresponding to the BADI definition and implementation.
I tried to debug the standard transaction IW52 (which uses this). The program runs till the FM call for CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE. It created a instance also. But it does not get inside the call for the method of the BADI LR_BADI_INST->CHECK_DATA_AT_POST.
I am at a fix now. Can somebody answer this issue? It would be very helpful.

This required a little tweaking of the code and now it is working.

ISR/Adobe Sending back fields from BADI in event request_check
Dear Forum,
Within my BADI implementation I want to alter some form data, after some user data has been entered. This applies to calculated fields from rather complex HR related data. Far to complex for Formcalc, but definitly as a response to user input to be checked before the notification should be posted.
I expected that altering formfields would be possible just by changing the table SPECIAL_DATA in the event int_service_request_check. However, this appears not so, where exactly the same does in the method int_service_request_init filled.
I am sure that the altered table gets fine throughout ISR_PROCESS_EVENT_WD, but still my form shows the original (from int_service_request_init filled) content.
Has anyone experienced this? Is there a workaround? Since dropdownlists somehow behave the same (however, not usable in my case) I believe it should be possible and I am looking forward to any anwser on this.

I have resolved the issue in our system, so maybe the same resolution will work for you. The answer is in Note [1440741|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1440741]. In our system we are on HR SP 23, which contains all the code corrections from earlier versions of this Note, but does not contain the manual corrections described (essentially creating the characteristic or data type for ASYNC_BACKGROUND_SAVE). I just had to set up the characteristic as described and our form now submits just fine. I found this only by running the ABAP debugger on Method GET_EXTERNAL_DATA_VALUE of Class CL_IM_HRASR00ISR with a breakpoint set on the line "ASSERT sy-subrc EQ 0." I just stepped through until I saw the return code turn to something other than 0, and made a note that it was looking for a fieldvalue of ASYNC_BACKGROUND_SAVE. A search of Notes for this fieldvalue turned up 1440741, and that appears to have resolved the problem. The problem was not so much with the form itself, but with the asynchronous background save in the workflow step.

How to access entities from badi using CL_CRM_BOL_CORE

I'm implementing a badi which will get called from sapgui and web ui where I have to use the infromation from web ui . From badi we can use cl_crm_bol_core to access message container but in the same way how can I use get related entities etc.
Those methods are avialable in the class cl_crm_bol_core but I dont know how to get the reference to some mandatory importing parameters.
kindly let me know how can I get the values in badi. below is my code. for lv_parent ?= lr_core->get_entity( ). I have to pass some mandatory import parametes, I'm not having any idea how to get the reference to those import parameters.

Can I fullfill from BADI customer fields that appear at item overview ?
Hi,
I can see that in SAPLBBP_SC_UI_ITS 120 (item overview) I have fields CUST1...CUST5. called in runtime GT_SCR_ITMOVR_I-CUST1....
I have tried to show content using a screen variant, but I haven't achieved. I think that is working but this field doesn't have value although I have customer fields at position level in the shopping cart. Even I have tried to call one of my customer fields CUST1 but without result
Is possible to fullfill this content from BADI, without standar modification

Data in custom fields can be filled using BADI BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI.
In this BADI you can place your own logic to fill data in these fields.
After BADI implementation data will appear in these fields.

QISR1 BADI implementation Transport
Hi ,
I have created a Z implementation for badi definition QISR1 .I have entered my Z scenarios as filter types here .My Z scenarios and implementation ( flow logic ) is working fine in Dev server .
But after transporting to Quality , my Z BADI implementation
is not getting trigerred ie my Z forms are coming up but not pulling data apart from PERNR .
Although the standard scenarions and standard badi implementation HRWPC_PCR is working properly .
When i debug cl_ex_qisr1 my Z badi implementation is not called in
Quality . Although my implementation is active with all dependant methods also active.
It throws an exception at get badi L_badi in class cl_ex_qisr1.
Is there something I am missing in the BADI transport .
Also ,
I made the standard Badi implementaion HRWPC_PCR inactive and only the Z implementation active .
But still standard scenarios work .
Is this a server issue - executing inactive badis implementation and not active ones .
Will refreshing portal server work ?

The use of object orientated code within SAP has lead to new method of enhancing standard SAP code called
Business Add-Ins or BADI's for short. Although the implementation concept is based on classes, methods and
inheritance you do not really have to understand this fully to implement a BADI. Simply think of methods
as a function module with the same import and export parameters and follow the simple instructions below.
Steps:
1. Execute Business Add-In(BADI) transaction SE18
2. Enter BADI name i.e. HRPBSGB_HESA_NISR and press the display
button
3. Select menu option Implementation->Create
4. Give implementation a name such as Z_HRPBSGB_HESA_NISR
5. You can now make any changes you require to the BADI within this
implementation, for example choose the Interface tab
6. Double click on the method you want to change, you can now enter
any code you require.
7. Please note to find out what import and export parameters a
method has got return the original BADI definition
(i.e. HRPBSGB_HESA_NISR) and double click on the method name
for example within HRPBSGB_HESA_NISR contract is a method
8. When changes have been made activate the implementation

that property of BADI makes it different from user exits

1) execute Tcode SE18.
2) Specify a definition Name : ZBADI_SPFLI
3) Press create
4) Choose the attribute tab. Specify short desc for badi.. and specify the type :
multiple use.
5) Choose the interface tab
6) Specify interface name: ZIF_EX_BADI_SPFLI and save.
7) Dbl clk on interface name to start class builder . specify a method name (name,
level, desc).

In crm 2007 two installed bases are there. one is customer ibase and the other is company ibase when the customer wants to transfer the component from company ibase to customer ibase(he simply drags the component from company ibase to his ibase) that needs to go for approval process. no event is triggering at this point. after he press save button 3 badis are triggering, i found one badi which suits me the problem is i will trigger workflow from badi if that approver approves that component should be saved in companys ibase if approver rejects that should not save anyone please guide me how to handle this ....

To achieve this functionality, in t-code SE18 create a BADI implementation and add a function module call to SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT. Trigger any BO event and associate the same event as the triggering event of your workflow.
Please note that direct workflow call is not an optimum approach so use BO events.
Create a workflow using t-code SWDD. Add a 'User Decision' step to send workflow task to the approver.
Add two branches in it one for 'Approve' other for 'Reject'. In the approve branch add the logic for saving the component in company ibase.
