PopUp In UWL

Hi All
I have a requirement where i need to integrate a BSP application with UWL , need to launch a bsp applicatiN as Work item task in UWL .
I successfully integrated BSP application with UWL but wen we click the task BSP application launching in new pop up window but my client wants it with in portal only not as separate pop up.
Please help me out

For this download the XML configuration you have it on your system.
Goto System Admin --> System Configuration --> UWL Administration --> Click to Administrate Item Types and View Definitions --> Select the config --> Download configuration.
Open the XML file in an editor and lcoate your BSP Task. Check actions part and in there find the launchInNewWindow property. Change this to no
For eg: <Action name="launchSAPAction" groupAction="" handler="SAPIACLauncher" launchInNewWindow="no"....
Upload the new xml with same name but with higher priority to portal.
Clear the UWL cache and test your changes.

Hi Experts,
I need to show any popup (dialog, confirmation etc.) when the user clicks on the 'Completed button' in the UWL. When I tried to put in normal java code for the above java.awt.HeadlessException was thrown since I am very new to this I am unable to get it right. UWL iView in Sharepoint: Popup shows TLN

We are displaying the Unviversal Worklist (UWL) iView in Sharepoint. Whenever an item therein is clicked, the resulting Popup displays the DTN (Detailed Navigation) and TLN (Top-level Navigation) in the Popup and displays the content in the Content Area.
My assumption is that this is happening because the UWL item Popup window has no Navigation Context.
Does anyone have any ideas on how we can make the item Popup like it does in SAP Enterprise Portal i.e. No TLN or DTN, but just the content in the Popup window?

Simon, what we found is that when we add the Dynamic Property it doesn't append the URL with a URL parameter, but just appends a value pair to the "DynamicProperty" URL parameter. So the Dynamic Property of "NavMode=3" didn't work when I tried it.
I looked at the properties of the iView and there's nothing about Popups of items displaying the TLN/DTN or not.
Again, I don't think its a matter of setting a property to toggle the Nav display. It works just fine straight out of SAP Enterprise Portal. The problem exists only when the UWL iView is housed in Sharepoint. So, again, I feel its more related to the Navigation Context being unknown, though I am open to all suggestions.

UWL No popup - "Template" used for WebDynProLauncher

Hi,
After configuring the SWFVISU is have re-registered my system and I'm getting my XML file very fine uwl.webflow.systemname - it works as configured.
Now we want all WI applications to be launched as inplace (not popups) - which I could configure by creating a new XML where I change the parameters launchInNewWindow="yes" to "no" for all the workitems I have.
Normally I would have preferred to do this only in one place an have the Itemtype referring a generic action, but that is not how the "re-register" works since it generates the <action> inside each of the <item type> and therefore each WI definition uses its own definition.
So the question is - does anybody know where the re-register gets the "templates"(or whatever it is) that it uses to generate the uwl.webflow.<sytemname> XML file for e.g. the actions launchWebDynPro?

How to auto close popup window of UWL?

Hi everyone! I have developed a web dynpro abap application that is being launched by the UWL in a new window. How do I close the window after the web dynpro application is done processing? I cannot use exit-plugs as these don't work in the portal. If I use the portal navigation classes(absolute and relative) these ask for a target address but what I want is to close the window. Has anyone done this before? Thanks! Generous points will be awarded!

If you are ready to open your webdynpro application inside the UWL itself (instead of opening as a pop up) you can try the following. In such a case you can set a re-direction page which points out to the URL of your UWL on the required action (say "Approve" or "Reject"). Hence when you perform the required action your UWL screen will be re-displayed once again.
If you want only pop up from UWL then you may try posting it in Web Dynpro ABAP.

BSP popup UWL

When clicking on item in the Universal Worklist a BSP is opened in a new window. I want this to be opened in the same frame. On EP6 it was doing this, but after migration its giving me a pop up.
I have clearly checked that openInNewWindow is set to "no" for all the tasks.
Any help on this ?

Hi Joris,
I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with the WorkProtect Mode. Try setting this to "never ask" for your testuser under personalize. If that solves the problem you can set this behaviour as default.
To do so go to: System Administration -> System Configuration -> Service Configuration -> com.sap.portal.epcf.loader -> Services -> epcfloader -> workprotect.mode.default = 2
Restart the service and you're good to go.

While opening BSP File download popup opens

While opening BSP application(appraisal) in UWL work items a popup window opens.
this happens on particular PC of the user only,we are able to open the same on our PC.
this must be because of browser setting,but not sure

Comapre your browser settings with his and see if there is any discrepency . What is the message in Pop up window?
Try adding portal's and the application's URL to trusted sites and then see .

UWL - Records not getting into LeaveRequestApproval web dynpro screen

Hi,
We are on EP7 sp9 and ECC 6.0. We are working with UWL. In UWL, we downloaded the standard XML file and done changes for removing the other tabs except the 'Tasks' tab and also placed the refresh button on main screen. It looks fine. Now, the problem is the web dynpro screen is not pulling data from backend. Previously, when we click on 'LeaveRequestApproval' work item, we use to get ITS screen. at backend we did changes in SWFVISU transaction to get web dynpro popup screen when user clicks on 'LeaveRequestApproval' work item. We could able to get the popup web dynpro screen, but it is not pulling any records from backend.
Now, let us know where we are doing mistake? do we need any more configuration at backend? If so, let us know the work around for it.

But are you able to see the labels, buttons etc ? Or is it that the entire page itself is not visible ?
Please check the log file and see what is the error you get there ? Or probably check on the backend side if there is a dump.
You can also check with the debugger on the backend side...see what exactly happens on the backend when the page is getting loaded.

UWL and Webdynpro integration

We have developed WD Applications for Create/Display Purchase Order. Now, at the end of each process a workflow task will be triggered when the end-user clicks on "Create Purchase Order" button. Then, the concerned Cost Center Manager receives an email regarding the PO.
Then the manager logs in to the Portal and opens the "UWL" where he can see the list of all the "workitems" in the Tasks tab.
Now, when the Manager wants to reject the PO, he should be prompted with a box for entering the reason for rejection. Could anyone explain me of how to give the option of "Reason for rejection" to the Manager in UWL when he clicks on the task?

Hi Gopal,
In your case, you can open a webdynpro popup screen when the user clicks on the task item id of the task inbox.
In the webdynpro popup screen you can give text edit UI element to enter the reason and Reject button to submit the task.
If you are using ABAP w/f engine..
Configuration to open customized WebDynpro application when user opens a task in UWL inbox in Portal.
Go to the SWFVISU transaction in SAP GUI.
It will show all the taks available in all the workflows in the ECC system.
Select a particular task and select Visualization type for that task
Here you have to select u201CJava WebDynprou201D
And click on Visualization Parameters
It will open the u201CChange Visualization Parameteru201D screen
Here enter the WebDynpro application name which needs to be opened when user clicks on task item id.
You need to confgure this taks item id in UWL standard XML file.

How to automatically actualize UWL after return from WebDYNPRO?

in the universal worklist (uwl) i have configured a workstep to open a Web Dynpro application instead of the SAP GUI. This works fine and i can process the Workflow.
But after processing of workstep I returns to the UWL using
WDPortalNavigation.navigateAbsolute(          "ROLES:portal_content/tm.eop.fd.eop_root/tm.eop.fd.content_root/tmcz.eop.fd.tmcz_root/tmcz.eop.fd.my_workspace/tmcz.eop.ro.my_workspace/my_workspace/tmcz.eop.iv.uwl",          WDPortalNavigationMode.SHOW_INPLACE,

In the UWL there is non relevant item (item that was processed in WebDynpro) and it angers users.
It is possible to actualize UWL automatically after return from WebDYNPRO application? WebDYNPRO is opened in the same window and frame as UWL.

One solution is to use a af:dialog in the popup where you define a dialogListener to catch the outcome of the dialog and if it's OK you call your other method.
I wrote method code in back bean like this:

What's more, I found even if I use bounded workflow calling instead of using popup dialog calling, the returnListener wasnot executed either.
And there is still a issue in the popup Dialog: The strange behavior of checkbox selection, see the thread:

I tried and put aside for some days, and have no idea yet.

Trip Number gets disappeared after clicking the UWL work item

Hi All,
When i click on work item in UWL to make a decision on it, a pop up gets opened trip form(there is error on trip formu201D Error while initiating travel form") . When i close this popup & return to UWL , trip number of that item gets disappeared.
Similarly when i launch UWL , some trip numbers do not appeared.

PopUp for subscription Alerts on KMC

Hi,
Is there a way that a popUp Alert is trigered when subscription event ocurs for a user when this logs into the Portal?

Hi Gerardo,
It's not possible. You can develop this functionality.
When the user log into portal can see: recent notification or UWL notification. But you can not display subscription events by mean popUp.

Error in UWL configuration for MSS in portal..

HI,
I want to configure UWL in portal so that I can see/approve leave in UWL in MSS. Please let me know how to configure the same.
When I am trying to configure the UWL in system admin> system configuration> Univerasal Worklist Administration, under that i clicked in new button to add my R/3 system, in that popup i mentioned my system alias name of R/3 system and connector as Webflow connector and remaining field i kept as empty and i clicked on save button after that when i click on Register button OR Register item type for all system than I am getting the following error, please let me know what the issue is ?

SandBoxCLNT300 is the system alias of system I have created for R/3. in that system object I am using logon ticket.
Also when i try to test that system , SAP Web AS Connection AND ITS Connection connection are tested properly with green tick but the third parameter Test Connection with Connector is failing and the error is

The test consists of the following steps:
1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object

Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure that Single Sign-On is configured correctly
Also the transaction iview i created using this system object is coming absolutely proper, than why Test Connection with Connector is failing , please let me know , might be UWL issue is related to this one..

See in bold where it mentions that "The prerequisite for this is that,
in addition to the default JCo connections, you created the new logical
system name with the Web Dynpro Content Administrator and configured it
for the required SAP system." Meaning that there needs to be a JCO
Connection for "SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData" since these are
the default JCo connections. In this case I kindly ask that you create
the default metadata and model JCO connections for
SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics and see if that resolves the issue.
