Portal Activity -- Date format in Usterstat database

Hello,
we have a problem with our activity reporting. The system shows us only 0-3 user per hour in the report.
To see what's the problem we looked in our USERSTAT data base to compare it with the report.
I wonder, if these numbers below are correct? I don't know what they mean. Are this dates?? Could it be a wrong data type??
<u>Here is an extract from our USERSTAT:</u>

Hi kristen,
As far as i know SAP runs an agregated Script which will aggreate the data and store the Data.So the data which you see in the database can be one day old ( Need to check on this ) Refer to these
Mysteries of the Portal Activity Report
Mysteries of the Portal Activity Report II
Mysteries of the Portal Activity Report III
refer to these may be of some help.

  • Extracting/Uploading Portal Activity Data Collector data in BI for reports

    Hello Experts,
    I am looking for the approach where we can upload the data collected by portal activity data collector service into BI for generating report from BI. If anyone has done this before, what are your strategy in this case? I think Portal Activity Data Collector is more detailed over Portal Activity Reporting. Any thoughts on generating the custom reports?
    Kindly help me with your valuable information
    Thanks,
    Ameya

    Hello Ameya,
    We are using Activity Reporting service for KM activity tracking and activity data collector for PCD access logs. What we do in our environment is , we have created a custom tablespace in our oracle DB of portal. We upload these logs to db using shell scripts (flat file format, later which is converted to a more maningful schema structure which can be queried upon). We have specific procedures in db for getting the required reports.
    Another option would be to upload to solution manager where the reports can be generated using BI.
    File formats of these Activity reports can be modified by configuration.

    Vinod.

  • Portal Activity Data Collector -- Multiple directories

    We are using the Portal Activity Data Collector and want to know if Sol Man 7 EHP 1 will pick up the files from more than one location or do we still have to put them into a central directory to be analyzed?

  • Configurations for extracting portal activity data from netweaver portal.

    Hi,
    I need to fetch  the portal activity data from the portal into Solution Manager. I would like to know the configurations on the portal that will be needed in order to extract the portal actvity data . How will i proceed extracting the portal activity data?
    thanks and regards,
    Divya.

    Hi Divya,
    We can not say that Early Watch Alerts is same as the  the portal activity report.
    Its a diagnosis service, for the solution monitoring of SAP and non-SAP systems
    in the SAP Solution Manager. Its gives you the complete details of your System.
    If we talk about Portal then you can get the details like :
    1. Java Heap details
    2. Memory Uses
    3.Portal Objects access details (Like Activity report )
    4.Server Nodes details
       and many more things.................
    The Underlying concept is to ensure smooth operation of individual SAP Systems
    by keeping you informed of their status and allowing you to take action,
    before severe technical problem occurs.

  • To extract portal activity data from the portal into Solution manager.

    HI all,
          I need to extract the portal activity data from the portal into Solution  Manager BI and then later on into the SAP BW in order to generate BEx reports on the portal activity data. I need to know about the configuartions that are needed to be done on the portal side and the solution manager side so as to get the data into SolMan from portal.  Waiting for a response.
    Thanks and regards,
    Divya.

    Hi
    In solution manager you can do the  analysis of the ADC data files (Portal activity reporting) as as part of the End-to-End Diagnostics (Portal Activity Reporting tab in the End-to-End Workload Analysis).
    Will you see the Portal Activity Reporting tab under End-to-End Workload Analysis?
    by default PAR in SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 is deactivated ,since we requires
    some manual configuration of the Activity Data Collector.
    please follow the attached config guide in the SAP note for configuration.

  • Portal activity report, which tables in database?

    Hi,
    Could someone say, which tables in database have information for Portal Activity Report?
    I need to build my own report which I cant build using standart Portal Activity Report template.
    great thanks

    Hi,
    you really shouldn't access SAP portal db tables. These tables and the structure can change and SAP won't communicate this. This will give you more controll about the reports, as more data is collected.
    The data stored in the DB tables for the PAR are only aggregated data. If you need more detailed data, the PAR data won't help you. In fact, what can be displayed with the PAR data in the DB, can be achieved with the PAR reports.
    If you need to generate your own activity reports, you should considre using the other possibilities delivered with SAP Portal, like the Activity Data Collector:

    Hi all,
    I manage to found the path mentioned in the note: 816761. The actual path is under:
    System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Global Services -> Property Metadata -> Properties.
    My version is EP7/NW04S SPS08
    However, I have 2 question here:
    1. How and what parameters to set under the properties??
    2. I tried to change the user profile in my EP but the option is grey off. Reason is because I am using my Backend SAP as the UME source and hence this option is not changable in EP. But I have tried all means and not able to change in SAP. Any advise?
    I have do a test by creating a new ID in Portal, ie the user is store in the Java UME database. In this scenario, I will be able to change the user profile to English_UK and this will solve the data format problem to DD/MM/YYYY. But I can't use this method as the requirement is to have UME reference to my backend SAP system.
    Any advise from the experts here?
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Date format in different databases like DB2, MS SQL, Oracle etc.

    Hi,
    Is there any standard date format, which works on any database like DB2, MS SQL Server, or Oracle 8i.
    Right now I am using specific format for each database.
    I am using the following syntax to retrieve the records on Jun 14, 2001.
    MS SQL Server:
    select * from tablename where
    CONVERT(character(10),ReceiptDateTime, 120) >='2001-06-14'
    and CONVERT(character(10), ReceiptDateTime , 120) <'2001-06-15'
    Oracle:
    select * from tablename where
    TO_CHAR(ReceiptDateTime,'YYYY-MM-DD') >= '2001-06-14'
    AND TO_CHAR(ReceiptDateTime,'YYYY-MM-DD') < '2001-06-15'
    Is there any way we can generalize the date formt?
    Any help appreciated.

    but with other database it is coming as YYYY-MM-DD like <PYMT_DATE>2009-08-10</PYMT_DATE>..

  • Active Data Guard in different database versions (11.2.0.3  and 11.2.0.4)

    In case of Active Data Guard can i run different database versions (11.2.0.3  and 11.2.0.4) at Primary and DR for production environment ?  And will having RAC in environment make any difference?

    Hi,
    >>In case of Active Data Guard can i run different database versions (11.2.0.3  and 11.2.0.4) at Primary and DR for production environment ?
    As per normal Data Guard requirement, Oracle 11.2 does support flexibility where Primary and Standby may have different hard wares such as CPU architecture and OS etc. but the Oracle RDBMS software version must be the same. Having said so does not mean it will not support it. Beginning with 11.1.07, a physical standby database can be used to execute a rolling database upgrade to a new Oracle Patch Set or database release by using the transient logical rolling database upgrade process. It means you can have with different database version but for how long, you need to check above documents.. For complete information you should read this note:
    Data Guard Support for Heterogeneous Primary and Physical Standbys in Same Data Guard Configuration (Doc ID 413484.1)  &
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/features/availability/maa-wp-11g-transientlogicalrollingu-1-131927.pdf
    2) >> And will having RAC in environment make any difference?
    NO.   You can find answer at -  https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e41134/standby.htm#SBYDB4716
    **The primary database can be a single instance database or an Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC) database. The standby databases can be single instance databases or Oracle RAC databases.

  • Portal Language/Date Format

    Hi,
    Portal Version: 10.1.4
    Currently our default Portal language is us and the date format dd-mon-yyyy. Since this not a very common format here page publishers are having difficulties at times to enter the correct date and I would like to change it to dd/mm/yyyy. If I install a different language by running the ptllang script, will I get a different date format too?
    Regards
    B.

    According to Oracle documentation this can be changed @ sesion level by the following :
    Alter session set nls_date_format='mm/dd/yyyy';
    ======================================================
    To change it @ the instance level, the following needs to be added in the init.ora file :
    Nls_date_format="mm/dd/yyyy".

  • Date format in Direct database request

    I have a report with direct database request.
    I have a date prompt..I am storing the date in a Presentation Variable named pv_date.
    In the direct database request, I have a where clause:
    WHERE business_date IN ( @{pv_date}{'1/1/2013'} )
    when I run open dashboard for the first time, its throwing me an error near TIMESTAMP.
    WHERE business_date IN( TIMESTAMP ''2013-01-01 00:00:00'')
    AND ALSO When I run this report from dashboard after choosing a date say 2/20/2013, I see the query as:
    WHERE business_date IN (2013-02-20 00:00:00)
    and hence throwing error.
    Its throwing error in both the cases. How do I change the format in WHERE clause..
    Ideally, I want the query to be WHERE business_date IN ('2/20/2013') or Business_date IN ('2013-02-20')

    Thank you both.
    I am using Sybase and hence used convert function.
    But still I see the word TIMESTAMP in the query which is causing issue.
    business_date IN(CONVERT(char(10), TIMESTAMP ''2013-03-27 00:00:00'',101))
    and when I run the report by choosing any date, I see this: business_date IN(CONVERT(char(10),2013-03-27 00:00:00,101)) ; throwing error because No single quoted for the date.
    How do I remove the word TIMESTAMP?? and how do I impose single quotes..

  • DeleteXml() causing xml data format error in database

    Hi, guys,
      I'm using the oracle  xml db 11g in my website application. Last week I found that using the deletexml() to delete a node in the xml may cause a terrible problem that the rest data in the database had wrong xml format. I wonder is it a bug when using binary xml storage.
      My xml data is describe below,
    <root>
         <nodes>
              <node id="1">
                   <name>John</name>
                   <age>16</age>
                   <hobby>football</hobby>
              </node>
              <node id="2">
                   <name>Alex</name>
                   <age>22</age>
                   <hobby>table tenisl</hobby>
             </node>
         <nodes>
    </root>
      I using deletexml() to delete just a node once time,
    "update projects set object_value=deletexml(object_value, '/root/nodes/node[@id="1"]')"
    Usually it successes and the rest data is as excepted, but sometime, I find that after deleting a node, any query in the database except "select * from projects" gets null. And the rest data has wrong format like below,
    <root>
         <nodes>
              <node id="1">
                   <name>John</name>
                   <age>/hobby>
              </node>
              <node id="2">
                   <name>Alex</name>
                   <age>22</age>
                   <hobby>table tenisl</hobby>
             </node>
         <nodes>
    </root>
    Just one format error causes the whole xml data valueless, but it seems that in most time the deletexml() works well, does anyone knows what happens?
    Thanks a lot.

    XMLPatch?
    Do you use it yourself on a regular basis?
    Personally, I find it fun to use but the performance doesn't match my expectations (no piecewise update/streaming eval AFAIK).
