Portal Request Failed (Fault returned {0})

Hi All,
I use WSDLs created from XI which inturn executes BAPI's in R3 and returns me the output/response. Two of such WSDLs are throwing this error.
<b>Portal Request Failed (Fault returned )</b>
Have any one of u come across this error in VC storyboard??.. Do let me know your experience and views on getting this resolved.
Thanks,
Kavitha

Hi Mario,
thank you for your response! But I can not solve my problem.
- I am passing all the mandatory files in the right format
- I executed the web service with the web service checker and the web service works fine.
The only difference trough my other web services is, that I use also a list as input parameter. Can that be the reason?
Thanks
Stefan

    Hello,
    I'm trying to use a ES workplace Webservice but not getting any results. The error message is Portal Request Failed ( Index: 0 , Size: 0). I tested calling the service from  the esworkplace and it worked. Although I hade to use some NULL value as variables. Is it also possible to give a null value along while testing the webservice from VC ?
    I'm on release 7.0 sp08. The service I call is on HU2 800 , service is MaterialSimpleByIDAndDescriptionQueryResponse_In.
    If any one knows a solution for this problem i like to hear from you.

  • Issue about BI JAVA SDK-SOAP request failed with return message 2147483653

    Dear Experts,
    I'm trying to use BI JAVA SDK to connect BW by using XMLA connector.
    But there's an error messaet said :
    SOAP request failed with return message 2147483653 ( Invalid MDX command with INCLUDING)
    I'm really new to this JAVA SDK, and after searching help in SAP Service Market and Google, there's no helpful suggestion.
    please help me about how to fix this error.
    Here is my code:
    IBIConnection connection = (IBIConnection) cf.getConnectionEx(cs);
          IBIOlap olap = connection.getOlap();
          Cube cube = olap.getObjectFinder().
          findCubeFirst((String)null, "ZFI_C11/ZFI_C11_Q001");
        // This is just a sanity check to verify that the
        // cube on which this example relies was retrieved
        if (cube==null){
            System.out.println("no cube found");
    // Didn't print out this message, seems it can connect to BW and get the InfoCube and Query.
        Dimension plantDimension = olap.getObjectFinder().
        findDimensionFirst(cube, "ZPLANT");
      Dimension materialDimension = olap.getObjectFinder().
        findDimensionFirst(cube, "ZMATERIAL");
      IBIQuery query = olap.createQuery(cube);
      IBICommandProcessor commandProcessor = query.getCommandProcessor();
      commandProcessor.moveDimensionToRows(plantDimension);
      commandProcessor.moveDimensionToRows(materialDimension);
      IBIDataSet dataset = query.execute(); // After execute this statement, error happens.
    Thank you!

    Solved myself, it's because the query used in my code have user input variable.

  • Executing function module gives error "Portal request failed: Connection fa

    Dear Experts,
    I have a Function module  Z_SAT_CREDITLIMIT_CHANGE which in itself accesses the SAP Update Function module
    UPDATE/INSERT  of the credit limit(CREDITLIMIT_CHANGE)
    and writes the changed data to the Table KNKK(Customer Master Credit Management : Control Area Data).
    While executing this fn module Z_SAT_CREDITLIMIT_CHANGE
    from VC storyboard i received error "Portal request failed:
    Connection failed: Nested Exception: Native Connection to backend system is broken" . Z_SAT_CREDITLIMIT_CHANGE executes fine and updates data in ECC system.
    Than i noticed further that while commenting the part of code in Z_SAT_CREDITLIMIT_CHANGEwhere call to fn module CREDITLIMIT_CHANGE is made there's no error recieved and Z_SAT_CREDITLIMIT_CHANGE executes without error but obviously no data is updated.
    Appreciate if any one can please explain how can i use CREDITLIMIT_CHANGE  in Z_SAT_CREDITLIMIT_CHANGE
    without any errors.
    Kind Regards,
    Robin.

    Hi Robin,
    Also, check that the user with the one you're accessing to the backend have permissions to execute the Dataservice at the backend system.
    You should check the usermapping to know which is the user at backend.
    Best Regards,
    Luis

  • Portal Request Failed

    Hi all,
    When I deploy my VC application with flash I get a nice application in the Portal, but when I deploy my application in Webdynpro I get the following error:
    Portal Request Failed (incomplete input, no MainUnits Specified)
    How can I solve this error
    Richard

    Hi Richard,
    there are differents between flash and webdynpro. Some components for flash are not supported for WebDynpro. If you change the compiler in your settings, then the components in the task panel toolbar also change.
    I guess you use a component in your model, which is not supported from webdynpro.
    There are also some other limitations to WD, have a look into the VC wiki:
    <a href="https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/VC/LimitationsofWebDynpro">https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/VC/LimitationsofWebDynpro</a>

  • Apex_web_service.make_request throws ORA-29273: HTTP request failed. How to get the soap fault XML?

    I am trying to call a web service using apex_web_service.make_request function.
    It works fine when all the parameters are correct. However, when something is wrong in the request XML, it throws an exception instead of returning the soap:fault message:
    ORA-29273: HTTP request failed
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1369
    ORA-29269: HTTP server error 500 - Internal Server Error
    ORA-06512: at "APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_WEBSERVICES_API", line 130
    ORA-06512: at line 37
    I need to get back the soap:fault and parse it to display a proper error message to the users (e.g. what was wrong with the input), yet the call throws an exception instead of returning it.
    I am trying the exact same request from soapUI and it returns me the soap:fault below:
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
       <soap:Body>
          <soap:Fault>
             <soap:Code>

             <soap:Reason>

             </soap:Reason>
             <soap:Detail>
                <ns1:RegisterFault xmlns:ns1="http://www.exchangenetwork.net/wsdl/register/1">
                   <description xmlns:ns2="http://www.exchangenetwork.net/wsdl/register/1">The security token has expired.</description>
                   <errorCode xsi:type="ns2:RegisterErrorCode" xmlns:ns2="http://www.exchangenetwork.net/wsdl/register/1" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">E_TokenExpired</errorCode>
                </ns1:RegisterFault>
             </soap:Detail>
          </soap:Fault>
       </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    How do I get this back from APEX?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
       I've just run into this.
       If the webservice returns a fault, such as:
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><soap:Body><soap:Fault><faultcode>soap:Server</faultcode><faultstring>INVALID_REQUESTER_INFO</faultstring></soap:Fault></soap:Body></soap:Envelope>
       then the user gets presented with an unfriendly error message and there's no chance to output a more friendly one.
       The response above is seen when testing the webservice, when run from the Form/Report page, we get something like:
    soap:ServerINVALID_REQUESTER_INFO
    Contact your application administrator.
    OK
       When OK button is clicked everything is rolled back and we don't even get the fault XML.
       It would be good if Apex could be optionally set to not give the unfriendly messages, so that we could code such a message ourselves.
       Unless anybody has a workaround for this, I guess that I'll have to see if I can code this in PLSQL.
    Regards,
    Chris

  • In Portal, request.getparameter return NULL (Sample Monthcalendar)

    I used the sample monthcalendar. When i used it without integrated in portal, i can change month by month with ">>" button.
    In the JSP File, there is a call to the P_CALDATE parameter

    thank you for your help
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew. In order for us diagnose this issue, you'll need to capture some network traces using a tool such as Fiddler and share them by sending a Frown.
    To capture a trace using Fiddler, start Fiddler, enable the Tools > Fiddler Options > HTTPS > Decrypt HTTPS traffic option, start the capture, reproduce your issue, then stop and save the capture. You can find more information here.
    Once you've done that, please send a Frown through the Power Query ribbon and attach the traces.
    Thanks,
    Ehren

  • [RPC Fault faultString="HTTP/1.1 415 Unsupported Media Type" faultCode="Server.Proxy.Request.Failed"

    Hi,
    Posting in the 'General' forums as well. Did not yet get any response for the topic posted in the 'Configuration and Getting Started Discussion' forum.
    I am having nightmares to call the POST method of a REST service thru Flex. Initially tried with the HTTPService without any proxy server. Wasn't able to call POST, though the GET method was successfully called. Please see the post here (http://www.flexdeveloper.eu/forums/actionscript-3-0/how-to-acces-post-method-of-rest-web -service-thru-flex/)
    b THEN I tried with BlazeDS
    , but with the same results!
    I have set up BlazeDS with the integrated Tomcat option. I have also set up the Flex project as mentioned in the instructions. It is working fine when I run the sample projects.
    But the problem is that
    i when I try to access a
    b POST for a REST service,
    i I get the "HTTP/1.1 415 Unsupported Media Type" fault.
    b The complete fault I'm getting is: [RPC Fault faultString="HTTP/1.1 415 Unsupported Media Type" faultCode="Server.Proxy.Request.Failed" faultDetail="HTTP/1.1 415 Unsupported Media Type"]

    b Only the POST thing is giving me the fault!
    Appreciate any inputs. (am in need of 'em badly)
    thanks
    BJG

    My guess is that the Server/Rest service doesn't like the content type of the request. HTTPService uses a content type of application/x-www-form-urlencoded by default. Maybe the Rest service is expecting the request to be XML? If that's the case, you need to set the contentType property of the HTTPService to application/xml.
    Sometimes an HTTP sniffer/proxy such as Charles can be useful for debugging these kinds of issues. If my suggestion doesn't help, capture the HTTP request and response using a HTTP sniffer like Charles and post back to this thread with it and someone will take a look at it for you. Thanks.

    Snippet from the link below:
    If you get a “404: Not Found” error, it ‘s because by default there is no script map for .svc file with default IIS 7.0 installation, so you need to register .svc extension in IIS:
    You need to update IIS script maps to register .svc extension In a command prompt (ran as administrator), execute the following command:
    “%windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.0\Windows Communication Foundation\ServiceModelReg.exe” -r -y"

  • Transport request migration failed with return code 12

    Hi ,
    A transport request was created to capture deletion of bex query via Tcode RSZDELETE. The deletion TR was moved to Quality box successfully and query got deleted. But when same TR was moved to Production box, TR failed with return code 12. Program terminated (job:RDDEXECL). Upon checking the job log overview for this job, runtime error ITAB_DUPLICATE_KEY happend causing session to terminate. can anyone pls suggest me how to fix this issue and why this has caused. Need to fix this immediately as it is in production environment. Please help.
    In ST22 i could see the below error details:
    Thanks,
    Vishnu

    as per the dump, system is trying to insert a unique number which is already in the system. You sure the transport is only for deletion of the query? Can you please check the import logs in the test system and should tell you what action performed during import.
