  • Calling a web service from a portal application / SOAP Action

    Hallo,
    Daniel Dehnhard

    I have an old pl/sql "helper" package, originally written to make SOAP Web Service calls from the database - it uses UTL_HTTP to invoke the target services.

    But the version of UTL_HTTP inside 8.1.7.4 does not contain the functions needed in the helper package
    Can anybody suggest a means of making SOAP Web Service calls from an 8.1.7.4 database ?I think you'll be very lucky to find anyone here who still has access to a version of Oracle that is that old.... I mean... that's like what? 15 years old at least? I'm surprised you've still got hardware that can run that.
    It would probably help if you could post what code you've got and explain which function(s) it's complaining about, as I doubt people will want to guess.

  • Concurrent access to portal web service

    We have developed a Portal Web Service, which has Web methods that return array of Objects. The Web methods uses ArrayList as DataStructure. When we try to access the Web Service concurrently, we get incorrect data (unpredictable) for the same Web method. The outcome  can be result of ArrayList not being Thread-Safe. Is there some other reason for the web method to behave in this manner? Is there some setting/property which can be set in the portalapp.xml, at the Application level or service level, to make Web application use different instances of ArrayList for seperate Web calls?
    Thanks in advance

    Kalpesh

    Hi,
    I think Portal Web Services use JAX-RPC API Which does not directly support ArrayList.Just do a check up on that.
    If that is indeed the case,then refer to
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/tutorial/doc/JAXRPC4.html
    How ever you can use enterprise beans for encapsulating data

  • Unable to consume secured Web service from a Dynpro application

    Hello,
    I have followed <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c3/bac36a469e4c75aba646077e71516d/frameset.htm">this tutorial</a>
    in order to protect and consume a secured Web service from a Dynpro application using SAP logon ticket.
    The problem is that after implementing everything needed I  receive 401 Unauthorized when I am trying to consume it from the web dynpro side.
    If I manually transfer the request the credentials, before the execute i.e:
    modObj._setUser
    modObj._setPassword
    modObj.execute();
    I am able to call it, meaning the dynpro application doesn't transfer these credentials to the Webservice even though it's authentication property is set to true.
    Any idea how to solve it?

    Try below steps
    • Add jars
    o security.class
    o tc/sec/destinations/interface
    • Setting WebDynpro project property
    o Project>Properties>Web Dynpro References-->Interface references
    &#61607; Name=tcsecdestinations~interface
    o Project>Properties>Web Dynpro References-->Service reference
    &#61607; Name=webservices
    &#61607; Name=tcsecdestinations~service
    • Dynamically Set httpdestination and Call web service
    final InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
    final DestinationService dstService = (DestinationService)ctx.lookup(DestinationService.JNDI_KEY);
    if (dstService== null)
    throw new NamingException ("Destination service not available");
    final Destination destination = dstService.getDestination("HTTP"," DestinationName");
    // getting user name
    Properties destprop = destination.getDestinationProperties();
    String username = destprop.getProperty("USERNAME");
    String password = destprop.getProperty("PASSWORD");
    final HTTPDestination httpDestination = (HTTPDestination) destination;
    HttpURLConnection httpConnection = httpDestination.getURLConnection();
    String httpURL = String.valueOf(httpConnection.getURL());
    Request_AdvLocationVer1ViDocument_getLocation obj=wdContext.currentRequest_AdvLocationVer1ViDocument_getLocationElement().modelObject();
    obj._setUser( user );
    obj._setPassword(pass);
    obj._setEndPoint(httpURL);
    obj.execute();

  • Creating Web Services in the Portal

    Hi Experts,
    I'm trying to create a Web Service in the portal based on a URL. However I am having some issues with the User Management settings. I've explained below the steps I've followed in order to setup the Web Service and the issue I am having.
    I go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Landscape then I select my folder and right click. I then select New -> System (from template).
    I then select "Web Service System using WSDL URL" and insert the URL for my Web Service. The issue I am then having is that when I access the User Management page I can only choose "NONE" or "UIDPW" as the Logon Method. However, I need to choose SAPLOGONTICKET which should be one of the options but isn't.
    Does anyone know why this last option is not being displayed and how to fix this issue?
    Thank you,

  • Create Web Service within the Portal

    Hi, all.
    I want to use SAP Portal for generating Portal web services on a base of some external procedures.
    But to use NWDS in such way as to implement this procedure in EJB and create a web service for it seems not the best solution for me.
    Are there any other ways to do it? For example, are there any utilities that can help me to generate a web service within the Portal?

  • Web service consumer wizard in ECC 6.0 SP17

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create web service consumer using the wizard. I completed the step and click finish button at the end of the wizard. However, the process is just stop there and the main menu SAP Easy Access is displayed. No objects created.
    I can generate the object after clicking the finish in the wizard on ECC 6.0 SP15.
    Any idea on what can I do to generate objects so I can consume the webservice?
    Additional info: When I tried this on different system with SP17, I got message 'no vendor specified' after the wizard analyzing WSDL given in the url. No service provider object is created after that message is displayed. It is a success message (green).
    Thanks,
    Iwan

    Update: I had a brain ****... when selecting Create -> Web Service, there is an options for Service Consumer, which I thought this is how you generate the proxy. Actually I need to select Create -> Proxy Object. When I select the proxy object, it works just fine. A class is generated.
    However, in different system, there is no option to create Web Service and Proxy Object. It's on SP17 as well. I'm going to do additional research since in that system I do not have proper auth. for SICF transaction.

    Hi
    Q :- we activate ICF service? How?
    Just goto TCODE - SE38 and run program - RSXMB_ACTIVATE_ICF_SERVICES
                                                                    SXMB_ACTIVATE_ICF_SERVICES
    some ICF service must be inactive
    Activating ICF service is a generic requirement.

  • How to use a cascading LOV as a Web Services Consumer?

    How to use a cascading LOV as a Web Services Consumer?
    We are trying to populate a prompt programmatically.
    Our program is a Web Services Consumer.
    As an example we use Island Resorts Marketing
    The cascading LOV for City is
    Country -> Region -> City
    The City object is key-aware to the customer table
    The query is
    Customer | Revenue
    (where) City = [prompt]
    In order to make the key-awareness work, we must select the value (rowIndex) from the LOV
    When we run our program below, the LOV for City is not populated, as expected since we must first select the Country, then the Region.
    The code snippet below shows that the LOV for Country is populated. We have no idea how to go from there.

  • Invoking a Web Service from a mobile application

    Hi all,
    I have installed Sun Wireless Toolkit 2.5.2 for CDLC and MTJ.
    I want to invoke a web service from an MTJ Application and I have not a clue of how to start.
    First let me say I am working with RSA (which is over Eclipse)
    My first attempt was creating the web service client and then try to convert it into a mobile application (through the use of MTJ --> Convert to Midlet Project)
    I found 4 errors when doing so:
    First was solved changing the jre to 1.6.
    I am still dealing with the following three:
    * Error preverifying class mipaquete.MiServicioService
    java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/ws/Service
    * Error preverifying class mipaquete.ObjectFactory
    VERIFIER ERROR mipaquete/ObjectFactory.createMiOperacion(Lmipaquete/MiOperacion;)Ljavax/xml/bind/JAXBElement;:
    Illegal type in constant pool
    * Type mipaquete.MiServicioPortProxy$Descriptor Error preverifying class mipaquete.MiServicioPortProxy$Descriptor
    VERIFIER ERROR mipaquete/MiServicioPortProxy$Descriptor.getDispatch()Ljavax/xml/ws/Dispatch;:
    Illegal type in constant pool
    I only started to solve the first one. I assumed that I have to add the right .jar to manifest file (please let me know if I am wrong). I tried to do by adding the textual classpath rt.jar, however I am not able to give it the right path:
    C:\Archivos de programa\IBM\SDP\runtimes\base_v7_stub\java\jre\lib\rt.jar (even though I split the too long sentence into two and I include an space at the beginning of the second, I still get an error when saving)
    I would appreciate any help
    A) to solve the existing problems
    or
    B) To create a web service client in an EclipseME application through any other method.
    Thank-you very much in advance,
    Guadalupe
    PS Any clue is welcomed!!

    Hello rss,
    If you want to invoke a web service from a JCD you will have to build the SOAP message using JAX-RPC or AXIS and then programmatically creat an HTTP connection.
    Or you can leverage the HTTP(S) eWay and then you only have to build the SOAP message.
    Or use eInsight. You can import a WSDL into eInsight and eInsight will offer you a business process Activity to invoke the web service operations defined in the WSDL.

  • SocketTimeoutException when calling a web service from a WD application

    I'm trying to call a method of a web service from my WD application. The execution of the method longs more than 60 sec, so I'm always getting:
    Service call exception; nested exception is: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out
    I've got this post, which tells to change the property "socketTimeout" of the client.
    Read Timed Out Error
    But I don't know what is the client in my WD application, does this refer to the logical port ?
    I've tried inserting this into wdInit:
    com.hesa.hesanet3.h3wsmodel.proxies.Hesanet3Impl service = com.hesa.hesanet3.h3wsmodel.H3WSModel.getServiceImpl();
    logicalPort =(com.hesa.hesanet3.h3wsmodel.proxies.Hesanet3ViDocument) service.getLogicalPort("Config1Port_Document", com.hesa.hesanet3.h3wsmodel.proxies.Hesanet3ViDocument.class);
    logicalPort._setProperty("socketTimeout", "30000");
    But it doesn't work.
    I've tried getting the logical port from the model object corresponding to the method of the webservice unsuccesfully.
    I've tried with Visual Administrator -> instance -> Web Service Container -> Settings -> WS Clients Socket Timeout, increasing to 120 secs. No result, still stop at 60s.
    I've tried with Visual Admin -> global configuration -> Http provider -> KeepAliveTimeout, increasing to 120 secs, and still stop at 60s.
    I can't change model object code, but I've tried to debug it and setting the property in stubForLogicalPort and in _getGlobalFeatureConfig(), without change.
    I'm using a HTTP Destination, does this have something to do?
    I'm getting insane with this and I'm in urgent need of help.
    How can I change the time the WD waits for the WebService to answer ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Find solution. Check this thread:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/wdjava/faq%2b-%2bmodels%2b-%2badaptive%2bweb%2bservice
    The com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.api.IWDWSInvocationModifier interface can be implemented by an application using the Adaptive Web Service model in order to modify the web service invocation object just before it's execution. Invocation modifiers need to be registered with the executable model class for which invocation is to be modified:
    Request_NumberToWords requestMO = new Request_NumberToWords(model);
    requestMO.wdSetInvocationModifier(
      new IWDWSInvocationModifier() {
        public void doModifyInvocation(Object port) {
          HTTPControlInterface httpItf = HTTPControlFactory.getInterface(port);
          //timeout for this WS invocation is 120 sec; don't use global config. setting of WS-Runtime
          httpItf.setSocketTimeout(120000);
        public void doModifyAfterInvocation() {}
    Best regards.
