Portege R100 strange error code

Hello,
I closed my toshiba r100 and it does not want to boot up any more. When i turn it on, screen is blank, fan is turning with full speed, and the mains led flashes (on for 1 sec, off for 1 sec)... this code does not exists in the service manual which i managed to download... any suggestions?
is the hard reset just holding the power button for say a minute without the battery and mains?

i managed to find this:
Blinks orange
Cycle of 2 seconds
"ON" 1 second, "OFF" 1 second
means: BIOS is damaged
Any ideas how to fix it?
I tried to clear the CMOS by taking the batter out for about an hour.

Hi everybody,
I am Michael from Germany. I did use Toshiba laptops since the late 80th starting with my 1st computer, the Toshiba T1000 w/out a hdd...
I did repair a lot of them for myself, I always use 3-6 in my home parallel :o))) Especially the 34XX portege series, which are my fav ones with the tecra line, but anyway.
Now I have a new problem that I never had. I did buy some R100 to built me one fine. One mainboard the orange blinking error code: 00101100. I tried the common known things: w/ or w/out but nothing!
Does anyone knows which hexacode is hidden behind this blinking and which prob is hidden behind the right hexa, please?
google finds different answers and hexas like reading it from behind: 0011... and find 32h blabla but I want to ask you first, before I believe in this ;o))

i removed the motherboard completely at the weekend and found some interesting things:
1. there were little animals on it. small fleas that look like those in old books in librarys.
the actual board is from philippines, maybe they have a "houseflea" in the philli-factory or something. if it is that, it is uncool for a big brand like toshiba
2. a bigger part of the board had signs of heavy corrodation on metal parts that i know from old guitars hardware, especially like old guitars that have had eir homes near salty oceans. AND i think this is the reason, why i have the blinking code

NI 6624 counter card give a strange error code

I have a NI 6624 counter timer card which was counting pulses correctly in test mode. I set the card up using the following commands shown below. (Please note that I am coding in Delphi, so the syntax shown below might not be 100% correct.) However, I am 99% sure that the error is not caused by syntax).

When I started using the card for counting gamma pulses rather than counting simulated pulses, I found that I needed to tune the filter. I tried to set the filter to 100 nanoseconds by adding the following to my previous code:

The first of these new commands returned the error code FFFCF0FC - “ErrorAttributeNotSupportedInTaskContext“. The computer was programmed to abort if an error is received, so the second command was never executed. These commands are not included in the DAQmx documentation supplied to me, even though they are included in the C++ interface.
Can anybody tell me what this error code means and even better why it occurred?

Thank you for contacting National Instruments. I have been looking at this error message. This is caused by trying to assign a property to a device that does not support it. In this case it is caused by trying to assign the CIFreq property to a CICountEdgesChan. You will need to use the
DAQmxSetCICountEdgesDigFltrEnable
in order to set this property. When you installed DAQmx you should have a C Reference Help file which should detail many of the commands that you need to use. Generally, this is found at All Programs -> National Instruments -> NI-DAQ ->DAQmx C Reference Help
If there is no short cut, it should be located at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\docs
I have also attached a copy of the help file to this post incase you haven't got it installed.

Strange error code returned!!!

I have a bdb ,version 4.7.25 ,when i put lots of records (above 20,000,000) in it,each record is not bigger than 512 bytes,
when i start my db,first i use DB_MPOOLFILE to read it,it's about 20401665 pages,then i use cursor to read detail records
from this db,after 1,000,000 records was read,it complains about,DB_PAGE_NOTFOUND,but now the db_strerror returns SuccessFul!!!
how can this happen???
another question
in this big db ,sometimes(not so often) ,when i use dbp->exists to check weather a record was exists in my db,
it will return 34548 to me ,and db_strerror returns Unknown error!

Strange Error Codes

I recently upgraded my iMac to Snow Leopard (not sure if this has anything to do with it), but since then I cannot work on my websites. When I open the index page, I get this message:
The following translators were not loaded due to errors:
PHP_MySQL.htm: has configuration information that is invalid.
And when I try to insert an image, I get this message:
While executing objectTagf in Image.htm, a Javascript error occurred.
I haven't changed anything on my site. This just started happening overnight. Thanks for any ideas.

Check the following on solution :
Rename the configuration folder to configurationOLD
Library/application support/adobe/dreamweaver cs5/en_us/configuration

Strange error code

NSInvalidArgumentException

I get this message a lot, can I do something to prevent it?

Here's mine... NSInvalidArgumentException
* -[AudioSource model]: selector not recognized [self = 0x16158070]
It opens a window that says OK or QUIT. If you click OK the message just loops until you say QUIT.
If you were playing the project and it occurs (auditioning an effect or loop on the fly) SP will allow you to save the project before it quits.
THIS IS ANNOYING, especially when a client is in the room! I have ended up using ProTools to finish projects in the last few days.... Not GOOD.
It happens on my G5 when I try to audition an audio clip either from the search or browse window. I can work at startup for usually 10 to 20 edits, then once it starts, I have to shut down. It is actually occurring more often.

A strange error message on a code-modified page

I am trying to implement this plugin on a simple Muse page:

Simple addition of working code to the Muse page produced a strange error. "beforeAfter is not a function"
By trial and error, a fix was removing one Muse function! The page then seemed to work without problem from my hard drive. But when added to my server, a Muse-related error message pops up. After dismissing the error, the page seems to work. I have been unable to figure out this mysterious error. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Getting an strange error in "PluginPrefix.pch" while compiling a plugin code with InDesign CS4 SDK.

Currently trying to compile/build the existing Plugin code (C++) with InDesign CS4 SDK on my Mac OS X 10.5 machine but getting following strange errors.

Though above mentioned files are present at the following directory
/Volumes/../../../Adobe InDesign CS4 SDK/source/precomp/common/
Note : However initially I did not find “MemoryStatics.h” and “AnsiBasedTypes.h” files in the installed SDK directory. I have downloaded them from the net and copied those into the above mentioned directory.
I am not much familiar with Mac OS environment and compiling/building C++ code with Xcode. Can anyone help me to resolve this issue (might be very trivial and related to Xcode project configuration) ?

Yes, current build settings include path shortcuts as mentioned below and it also contains “$(CS_SDK_PATH)/source/public/includes” path in HEADER_SEARCH_PATHS settings. But still I am getting the same error: MemoryStatics.h: No such file or directory

Just for clarification : my Plugin code /project files are not inside the InDesign SDK (build/mac/prj). All the plugin project is outside of the InDesign SDK directory. Thus above mentioned CS_SDK_PATH and CS_SDK_PRJ_PATH are completely different.
Is it expected that the plugin code/project files should be inside the InDesign SDK/build/mac/prj directory only ? or is it okay if we put it in the completely another directory structure and modify the SDK_PRJ_PATH accordingly (as in my case) ?
Please let me know if you want me to elaborate the situation further.

Error Code 10 Intel 82579LM LAN connection on Portege R830-13C

After recent Windows 7 32 Bit update, the LAN connection is failing to start (Code 10) under device manager
"This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
I have tried uninstalling drivers / rolling back / and installing the following files from Toshiba support pages, but does not resolve the issue.

Error Code 10 is generated when Device Manager can't start the hardware device and usually its caused by outdated or corrupted drivers.
Therefore I think that driver installation should help to sort out this issue.
I would recommend doing this:
- Go to device manager and uninstall the LAN driver
- Reboot the notebook but dont install the driver
- Install the CCleaner and clean the registry
- Reboot the notebook once again
- Then go to device manager, choose the LAN card (Ethernet controller) and install the downloaded driver
As option I would recommend testing the LAN driver from Intel page.

Portege R100: recovery issue - Error partioning drive

My old portege r100 is not working at all.
I tried to use the product recovery cd rom but during the recovery process the following message apears:
Error partioning drive!
What does it mean?
What can i do to overcome it?

It seems that HDD could not be partitioned properly.
Maybe the HDD is not ok?
Check if the HDD is recognized and listed in BIOS.
If the HDD is not listed, then the HDD is dead and should be replaced.
If the HDD is listed, then there could be a problem with the HDD partitions table
You could test the HDD using a tool called Drive Fitness Test.
You could also try to format the HDD firstly. You could attach this HDD to another computer using an USB HDD controller. This helps you to get access to the HDD and to format this drive

Where to find LED error codes for Portege 4010?

Hi,
My Portege 4010 isn't working, and the AC indicator is blinking an error code (either 0xA or 0x50 depending if I should interpret the first bit as least or most significant). I've tried searching, and I've found a fairly detailed guide that includes these error codes for the Portege M100 and M300 (at http://tim.id.au/laptops/toshiba/portege%20m100.pdf and http://tim.id.au/laptops/toshiba/portege%20m300.pdf) but I can't find anything for the 4010. So can anyone give me a location (ideally official Toshiba) for a document detailing the meaning of the error codes for my model?

Strange Error - 5005: Unknown error optimizing byte code.

Hello flashcoders,
I am facing strange problem since long time. This error code
even doesn't exist in the list of error codes.
This is the exact error I am getting while I compile the FLA
from flash CS3.

Description : 5005: Unknown error optimizing byte code.

I don't know exact reason about its generation, But here are
the some possible reasons / hints:
Case 1) Overloading:
1.1) Size of .fla is 10.5 MB and its document class contains
more than 60 classes to import and has more than 100 variables.
1.2) Even if I put In document class - only variable
initialization and class importing are there. Nothing in its
constructor + no other functions are defined. Still error is there.
1.3) If we import all classes and has all variables then it
gives this compile error. But if we remove some particular numbers
of variable, it's start working. In this we can remove any type of
variables.
1.4) After reducing variables, application starts working
till that it won't.
Case 2)
2.1) Size of .fla is 1.75 MB and its document class is same
as above one.
2.2) All assumptions are same as above.
2.3) Now this class contains all functions and have
initialization of all variables + classes.
2.4) In this If we remove 3-5 variables, it will start
functioning else it won't.
Its a huge application so I am even confused that what is the
cause of error and this error stopped our working for a week now.
Bit more information about the project that may help the team to
identify the reason.
1. Project development started with flash public alpha 3.
When we started using Flash CS3, we had some design problem if we
do open the FLA in CS3, so we completely redesigned the Movieclips
etc., in Flash
CS3 IDE.
2. Project contains approx 250 classes.
3. In main application, it imports 67 classes. (it works if I
keep 63 classes in document class).
4. In the case 3 above, if that works with 63 classes and If
I do add 3 frames in existing movieclip, it stops working.
5. In the case 3 above, if that works with 63 classes and If
I do add / declare few more variables, it stops working.
It would be humble appreciation if someone can come up with
some light in the dark tunnel.

- try turning off the optimizer
- delete ASO files
- also it seems that changing the java vm heap memory size
could help (find he environment variables in the Windows computer
properties and search the JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS variable)

Portege R100 disk read error

I have a portege R100 and today i am getting the message disk read error. Despite trying several time to clear this by using ctrl alt delete, the message persists. Does this mean the hard disk drive has failed and needs to be replaced?

Its possible that some sectors on the HDD are corrupt or damage.
You could try to run scandisk and additional you could check the HDD with the 3rd party application like a HDD generator

8540w no display port video output and strange LED error code

my HP 8540w (I5 M 560, Quadro FX 880M) recently started acting a bit strangely.
First the graphics card driver started crashing.
A couple of days ago it started showing this strange I presume it to be an error code:

And today the display port output doesn't detect any monitor (VGA works). The laptop is docked on a HP basic docking station and out of the three display output options only the VGA works.
I've searched the web and found that error codes are displayed only via the blinking num lock and caps lock LEDs. The amber Wi-Fi and HDD LEDs turn on when the laptop is turned off and operate with normal colors while the laptop is turned on.
Has anyone seen this kind of behavior before, will the graphics card have to be replaced or can this be fixed?

Portege 600-Windows Setup experienced an unexpected error - Error Code: 0x0

Hi,
During a Windows 7 upgrade I am getting the following error message. Windows Setup experienced an unexpected error - Error Code: 0x0.
Searching on web I've found recommendations for setting the DMA on the optical drive (can't), updating the bios (done), checked the media (DVD Toshiba supplied Windows 7 upgrade disk) all seems OK visually and turning off antivirus (AVG resident shield turned off). I still get the same error.
Help would be appreciated.

I have done this upgrade several times successfully and without error messages.
Have you followed instructions how to do upgrade to Win7 using second component CD that removes all non-compatible tools and utilities before Win7 upgrade installation?
