Possible Liquid Bug: Moving data into e-commerce layout

Liquid will not seemingly pass any data from outside an e-commerce layout into an e-commerce layouts is intentional or a bug.
If you create an include place it in a template then try to pass any data ie assign into any ecommerce layout it does not work.
If you need more help with reproducing this let me know.

What I have is a gloabal.inc this contains liquid that I would like to be used across a site ie url manipulations date manipulations and many many more. This is inside a head.inc placed at the very top of the template pages.
What this means is that the global.inc gets rendered first before anything else. You can then run liquid return results and then use it over and over with a simple {{myResult}} tag almost anywhere on a site. It works great, it is simple, fast to implement and has many applications. I can even create a library of .inc liquid files and can place their include's at will in global.inc and then access variables across a site to add and remove functionality. (Of course this is dependant on what you want to do and if it really needs to be global of course.)
I get that it is dependant on the way BC loads but if that is the reason then the ecommerce must render before the page template. Maybe it does, maybe there is another reason. If it is possible then it would be great to have working.
Is there other ways to get the result I want yes. But is it as simple, as fast and as easy to implement, add and remove no. If there is a better way I am all ears.

• Is it possible to load HTML data into BW?

Is it possible to load HTML data into BW,I have read in some places that is is possible but I cannot find much documentation on this on Google or other SAP sources.
If anyone has some documentation or general how-to guides that would be great!
Even a general overview in your own words would be a great starter.

• Is it possible to convert LabView data into OLE variant?

Hi. I'm using Activex Data Objects (ADO) to communicate with MySQL. Some ActiveX methods give OLE variant output, with "Variant Type" like "VT_ARRAY|VT_UI1", "VT_UI1" or "VT_BSTR". With some deduction and trial and error is relatively simple to extract data from this OLE variants and convert them to LabView data types. The problem is when I try to input variant data to some ActiveX methods, it almost always give me errors, I suppose because it expects the same type of the outputs, this is: OLE variants. Now, the question is: ¿Is there any way to convert LabView data into OLE variant data? ¿How?
I've been searching and found a lot of posts about problems when passing variant data into ActiveX, saying that sometimes SAFEARRAYs are needed, sometimes saying that there were some bugs in LV6, giving some workarounds to this bug and saying that it is fixed in LV7.1, but the supposed workarounds don't work and the bug is still present in LV7.1, if it is really a bug.
I think that if I could put LV data into OLE variant shape I may find an answer and solution to this matter.
Thank you

Below I describe how to handle OLE Variants, but I wanted to mention that LabVIEW does have a Database Connectivity toolkit (http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/6429) that has already created a set of VIs for ADO. You might check that out first.
However, handling OLE Variants in LabVIEW is automatic. LabVIEW itself has a variant datatype. When you use the ActiveX property or invoke nodes and one of the parameters is an OLE Variant, it is automatically converted to a LV Variant. You can then use the LV Variant VIs (such as "Variant to Data" and "To Variant").

• Possible to import GIS data into the Map app?

I would love to be able to import lat/long data into the Map app to display transit stop info on the job, as I do now with a crappy PC portable and Delorme Street Atlas.
Possible?
Thanks

You can do this with CartoMobile which is available in the AppStore. CartoMobile allows you to take your GIS in the field with you, and works online or offline.

• Loading Master data into BPS through layouts

Hi SAP Gurus,
Is it possible to load the master data into BI-BPS through layouts(in BI 7.0
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Pradeep

Hi Pradeep,
if its combination of charactertics & keyfigures, then you need to load master data in Info objects(Characterstics) and for key figures you can load directly in the layout, once you save it , these values get saved back in Cube.
Hope this helps

• Email folders were empty after I moved data into them.

I just created folders and moved important files into them. They are empty and I can't find the data - I cannot lose this information.  Can anyone help?

Can you clarify---------you created folders in your Comcast email account, using the webmail?   Did you move emails from the Inbox to one of these folders and now you can't see them?  Or are you talking about folders and  files on your computer or what?  You need to be more specific.

• Flex 4 - is it possible to load xml data into the preloader and pass it to the application?

or is there a similar method to load XML data while the preloader is active, so the XML data will be ready when the main application loads?

i'm having great difficulty finding any relevant info from the forum and the web about accessing preloader variables from the application.
is there a way to access the preloader itself from the application?
It seems logical that the systemManager garbage collects it. If that's the case, how can i access the systemManager from the preloader and possible pass variables to it, then later access them from the application? this seems to be the best direction to tackle this problem. but maybe i'm overlooking another way?

• Moving data into internal table without header line

Hello experts.
i have two internal tables . itab1 without headerline and itab2 with headerline. itab1 has 10 fields and itab2 has 2 fields.
BEGIN OF itab,
            lifnr LIKE lfa1-lifnr,
            ktokk LIKE lfa1-ktokk,
            name1 LIKE lfa1-name1,
            sortl LIKE lfa1-sortl,
            pstlz LIKE lfa1-pstlz,
            ort01 LIKE lfa1-ort01,
            land1 LIKE lfa1-land1,
           j_1ipanno LIKE j_1imovend,
end of itab.
DATA: itab1 TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF itab.
data: begin of itab2 occurs 0,
          lifnr like j_1imovend-lifnr,
          j_1ipanno like j_1imovend-j_1ipanno,
      end of itab2.
now i want to move the data from itab2-j_1ipanno into itab1-j_1ipanno. so pls tell me how to do that. lifnr in both the tables are the same.
thanks for all the replies.

Hi Shiva,
In with out header line,
You declare header line & body separately like
data: IT_MARA type standard table of MARA,
WA_MARA like line of IT_MARA.
Advantages:
1. Clear differentiation of header line over body
2. It is must in the ABAP Objects to have separate header line & body
3. Use ful in Nested Internal tables
Disadvantages:
1. Long syntax
for example: Loop at IT_MARA into WA_MARA.
In with header line
Data ITAB like MARA occurs 0 with header line.
Advantages:
1. Simple to use & declare over without header line.
Also,
With Header line:
codedata : itab like <dbtable> occurs 0 with header line.
Data: begin of itab occurs 0,
f1 type f1,
f2 type f2,
end of itab.
Without Header line.
codeTypes: begin of ty_tab,
f1 type f1,
f2 type f2,
end of ty_tab.
Data: itab type table of ty_tab, " Internal Table
wa type ty_tab. " Work Area
at any point of time use internal table without header line,it will be good performance as well OO ABAP will allow only internal table without header line.
Just use one simple example :
create one simple program with header line, use get run time field.
create one simple program without header line, use get run time field.
see the results ,here time will be micro seconds,so take 1000 records to internal table and do calculate the time.
While adding or retrieving records to / from internal table we have to keep the record temporarily.
The area where this record is kept is called as work area for the internal table. The area must have the same structure as that of internal table. An internal table consists of a body and an optional header line.
Header line is a implicit work area for the internal table. It depends on how the internal table is declared that the itab will have the header line or not.
e.g.
data: begin of itab occurs 10,
ab type c,
cd type i,
end of itab. " this table will have the header line.
data: wa_itab like itab. " explicit work area for itab
data: itab1 like itab occurs 10. " table is without header line.
The header line is a field string with the same structure as a row of the body, but it can only hold a single row.
It is a buffer used to hold each record before it is added or each record as it is retrieved from the internal table. It is the default work area for the internal table.
kindly reward if found helpful.
cheers,
Hema.

• Changing internal hard disc on MBP and moving data into new one

I have recently taken my MBP into service.
The mother board is dead.
My hard drive is ok (thank God!)
I have taken the drive out and backing it up while my MBP is in service.
I wish to buy a replacement 500GB drive for the MBP and give this to Apple when they have replaced my motherboard.
Can I copy all the data from my current 250GB into the new drive?
Even Apps, library and Snow Leopard system etc, like clone the 250 to the 500?
Will everything from Snow Leopard system to Apps work?
If so, how do I do this given that the new 500GB drive will be installed into the MBP?
My 250GB has in a new external shell with USB port.
If this is doable, this will save me a lot of time and I can start work again.
Also I get an extra 250gb of free space from the new 500gb drive which will be my virtual space for Photoshop.
Cal

Dear friend,
There is (or there was) also a solution (I don't know exactly what is your situation)
wich is to make a complete Time Machine backup of your disk to an external drive,
and then, after installing your hard drive, to start with Apple Install DVD and choose
(NOT to install) the "Restore from Time Machine backup" in the Utilities.
You will *not loose* any byte, any preference, nor anything else. It works very well.
But perhaps can't you do that. Good luck !
Kind regards

Its it possible to insert the date into a template with a script in CS3
Example: SUNDAY, August 24, 2008

Here the script is again... Don't know what to say? it works in CS2
//DESCRIPTION: Use to insert date/time into document.
if (app.documents.length == 0) { exit() }
insertDTs(app.documents[0]);
function insertDTs(aDoc) {

if (curPrefs == "") {
// Doc has no prefs; use saved prefs

var dateString = theFuncs[func](new Date());
app.findPreferences = app.changePreferences = null;

• Dumping data into tables directly

Hi there,
Is it possible to just dump data into tables directly (matching file structures)?
Or do we need to use GUI_UPLOAD and then insert them via ABAP statements?
Thanks,
Muji

Hi,
what is ur requirement exactly.
There are ways to upload data into database table.
u can use XI to uplaod data to SAP.
if it is user data creation, u can create a maintenance dialog and create data thru SE30.
But if u want to insert volumes of data and need them to be validated as well, u post them thru transactions. this is bDC.
If u want to upload master data, u use LSMW or direct input.
If u want to just do direct insert u need to do coding and map the data and insert intot he database,
but for all these u need abap coding which involves uploading and downloading.

• How to Troubleshoot why data is not moving over into the Data Warehouse after Sql Server Agent Job Run

Hello,
Here is my problem:
Data was imported into the staging area. After resolving some errors and running the job, I got the data to move over to the next area. From there, data should be moving over into the DW.  I have been troubleshooting for hours and cannot reslove this
issue. I have restarted the sql service services, I have ran a couple packages manually, and the job is running successfully.
What are some reasons why data is not getting into the data warehouse? Where should I be looking?
Your help is greatly appreciated!!

Anything is possible.
So, just to reiterate, running the job manually works, running the scheduled job does not result in errors neither data arriving to the DW, right? And it used to, correct?
If so, the 1st step would be to examine the configuration(s). But not before you inspect the package. Do you have an ability to export it to a file system and open in BIDS?
