Possible scenarios with XI, SAP AutoId, RFID combination.

Hi All,
Could you please provide the answers to the below questions
1. What all possible scenarios we can do with SAP AutoId using RFID datas?
2. I would like to do scenarios with and without SAP Netweaver XI for the above case. Please provide some scenario examples.
Regards
Sara

Hi Sara,
The possible scenarios of SAP Auto ID are many. You can have a detailed documentation on th esupported processes by SAP Auto ID on the following link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_autoid70/helpdata/en/5f/064f36300247b686bf0233454dbeb1/frameset.htm
Without using XI, you will not be able to integrated with SAP ERP.
So only process thats possible wihtout XI in SAP Auto ID is Slap and Ship Process. The same process has also been explained in the above link.
I hope this helps. Please revert if you any other doubts.

  • How about the RFID device and SAP AutoId connections?

    Hi All,
Scenario1 (Ports are enabled from client system): Client m/c is in different location and SAP AutoId Server is in different location. I have to connect the RFID reader and device controller to Client m/c to send the PML message to Server system. Is it possible?
(Or) Do we need to connect the RFID Hardwares directly to the SAP Auto Id server?
Scenario2 : I have to connect the server system through VPN, in this case If I connect the RFID hardwares to client system. Is it fine?

    Hi Stellare,
I fully agree with Daniela Bork. You've installed 5.2 and you need some preliminary data load like rules, messages etc. as per the installation & config guide. By doing so you're loading standard risks(Global) will be created in the system. This value if you want to check at table level this should be at your DB attached to the Java stack.
ABAP stack tables are /virsa.... and virsa_cc are java stack tables.  It depends on which version of GRC you're using.

  • SAP CRM Multiple Backend Scenario with Solution Manager

    Dear Experts,
We are implementing CRM Middleware - Multiple Backend Scenario (MEP / MBE Concept) in our client landscape for SAP CRM on HANA (Ehp3)

    1) Does MEP Concept support the Customizing Adapter object to download from more than one ECC System to single CRM System.
If Yes, Could you please provide the Configuration steps or Procedure to download the customizing data.
    For Master Adapter Object:
    2) The Adapter objects for Master Data like Customer and Materials are technically supported under MEP for the data exchange.

  • ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration Scenarios with SAP DS for ESA v3

    Hi,
we are planning two PoCs of Integration Plattforms. One of our major requirement set is SAP Integration into our existing SOA.
Because we also have R/3 4.7 Systems in production, we are planning to test ALE/IDOC and RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios with these Integration Plattforms.
    My question is:
We are looking for are smart solution to get a SAP Test Environment, where we can test ALE/IDOC und RFC/BAPI Integration scenarios.
It is possible to do this with SAP DS for ESA v3 or shall we better use IDES for that purpose?
    Best regards,
    Steven

    Hi Abhishek,
This is our scenario. We are doing an integration of SAP HR r/3 system with the CRM system. We need housing information details of the employees which we have in custom infotype 9310 in SAP HR system and we need those details in the CRM system. So am planning out for an ALE/IDOC approach for the integration and gonna  maintain the 9310 details in a custom table. In the CRM system, we gonna build a BOL layer for accessing the 9310 details. Also i'm preparing a HLD for this process. I wanna read and go through few same HLD's before i submit my proposal to my client. Please suggest me and help me out.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Is it possible to create sub-client with in SAP production (PRD) client

    Hello Experts,
Is is possible to create sub client with in SAP production client?
The question came to mind is that if I am the father company of two child/sub companies and both these function under my company and the users of all the companies will have different SAP log in . But, I can I create a Main PRD client say 'PRD L1 and under this client I create PRD L2 and PRD L3.
Is that possible and seems logical?
    Thanks & Regards
    Saurabh

This is not a question for this forum, because you are trying to discuss security where you should be trying (or rather your FI/CO department should be) to discuss business scenarios.
I never dreamed (after 20 years doing SAP), that I'd quote the original SAP documentation on clients vs. company codes again, ever - but here it goes:
    Company Code
    Definition
Smallest organizational unit of external accounting for which a complete, self-contained set of accounts can be created. This includes the entry of all transactions that must be posted and the creation of all items for legal individual financial statements, such as the balance sheet and the profit and loss statement.
The definition of the company code organizational unit is obligatory .
Anything bigger goes to a different client.
Try to come up with a business architecture first and adapt security after, accordingly.

  • SAP AutoId scenario

    Hi All,
Could you please tell me how many days it will take to do RFID scenario, if the landscape are ready...
Landscape : RFID, SAP AutoID, XI and R/3 System.
    Scenario : RFID -> SAP AutoId -> XI -> R/3 System.
Do we need to do any coding in AutoId?
    Regards
    Sara

    Hi Sara,
The steps to perform the below mentioned scenario, there is a document availalbe for that on SAP Service Market Place. You need a S-User ID for that.
    Go to
    service.sap.com/rfid --> Detailed Information --> SAP Auto ID 4.0 --> Outbond Processing Business Scenario.pdf
    Delivery Processing.pdf.
All these above documents will give you each and every step.
And i am not aware of the SAP XI adapter.
For RFID integration standard XI Content is availalble for SAP XI that will let you integrate SAP R./3 and SAP Auto ID

  • Possible fonctionalities with SAP MM

    Hello
Could you confirm that with SAP MM I can deal with automatic creation of purchase orders from a flat file (with Idocs or BAPI solutions) and that the creation of the purchase order can generate an EDI message to send the order to the supplier ?
I think that it is possible only with MM and that SRM is not required for these functions ?
    Thank you

    Hello Maxime,
Yes you can create purchase order from flat file with IDoc/ EDI,

  • Ale master data scenario integration with non sap syetem i.e seebeyound

    hi
we have a business process scenario integrating with non sap system (i.e seebeyound)
    action code      itemnumber    plant code
    a(add)          material1     plant 2
    d(delete)       material 3    plant 6
    etc
we have upto one million materials assigned to 300 plants
we have to send all the above data to non-sap system (see beyound)
should we go for a custom idoc and setup the rfc configuration for the two sytems.
or can you please help how to go for this scaneriao

this is not one time.it is on daily basis.
please look at this scenario.what i need is how should i go for ale/idoc scenario for this one
Business case for Heiler Part/Plant Interface:
A key function of the Heiler PBC tool is to provide users a choice
between a "Global Catalog View" (e.g. all parts in the catalog) or a
"Local Catalog View" (e.g. the subset of parts in the catalog that have
a Material Master established for the user's plant in SAP).  The "Local
Catalog View" is the default condition and encourages users to procure
parts that are on contract for their plant and potentially already
stocked as an inventory item at their plant.  Parts that are not in a
user's "Local Catalog View" can only be procured as a spot buy purchase
order, requiring processing by a buyer.
The new Part/Plant interface is required in order for the Heiler PBC
tool to provide this "Local Catalog View" function.  The Heiler
Part/Plant table will document what plants in SAP have a Material Master
record established for each part.  SAP will maintain the Heiler
Part/Plant table using this interface.  When a user performs a part
search in the Heiler PBC tool, the Part/Plant table determines if a part
is included in the user's "Local Catalog View".

  • Is it possible to install two SAP system with same SID but different instance numbers on one host?

Is it possible to install two SAP system with same system ID (SID) but different instance numbers on one host?
    If yes, then how?
    If no, then why?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sarim

Is it possible to install two SAP system with same system ID (SID) but different instance numbers on one host?
Yes, it is possible. If one is CI (PAS) and the second one is an AS (AAS). In this case there will be only one database.
If you are talking about two separate SAP systems with separate databases (Eg: A BI and an ECC) with the same SID then the problem will be with the database (Eg: Oracle)
The database will be installed under /oracle/SID/112_64 (ORACLE_HOME) unless one database is running on 10 G and in that case the ORACLE_HOME will be /oracle/SID/102_64
The next issue will be with the SAP file systems like /sapmnt/SID
The most important problem will be with the switch to the sidadm and orasid users and the conflicts there. If there is a need to stop one of the SAP systems and if you do a switch to sidadm and issue a stopsap command which system will be stopped ?
These are few of the many problems I can think of.
So if we are talking about two separate systems with their own databases I would rule out the possibility of having two systems with the same SID.

  • Is this possible: SNC connection from SAP GUI to SAP Router, and ...

    Hi,
    I have (stupid perhaps) question.
    Is this scenario possible:
SNC connection from SAP GUI to SAP Router, and non-SNC connection from SAP Router to SAP System.
I know how to set up scenario like this:
    SAP System --- (non-SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (non-SNC conn) --- SAP GUI.
    Best regards,
    Marek Majchrowski

    Wolfgang,
To be sure myself and Marek understand, can you confirm the different scenarios supported:
    Scenario 1:
    SAP GUI --- (non SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (non-SNC conn) --- SAP System
With this scenario, it would be possible for a user to logon using SAP GUI onto the SAP System, but without SAP GUI SNC.
    Scenario 2:
    SAP GUI --- (SNC conn) --- saprouter1 --- (non SNC conn) --- saprouter2 --- (SNC conn) --- SAP System
With this scenario it would be possible to logon to the SAP System using SAP GUI, and using SNC authentication.
Also, with this scenario the SAP GUI software and SAP System software would consider this to be similar to:
SAP GUI -- (SNC conn) -- SAP System
    Scenario 3:
This is the scenario mentioned by Marek in his initial question:
SAP GUI -- (SNC conn) -- saprouter1 -- (non SNC conn) -- SAP System
With this scenario it will not be possible to logon to SAP System using SNC, and only possible if the SAP GUI is configured to not use SNC. In other words the SNC connection between SAP GUI and saprouter1 is available, but cannot be used.
    Thanks,
    Tim

  • SRM 7 PPS Classic Scenario with Plan Driven Procurement?

Hello experts,  I want to know if the combination of  SRM 7 PPS Classic Scenario with Plan Driven Procurement is possible? or if there any limitation to consider? Our client needs to create purchase requisition in ERP -> send this purchase requisitions to SRM (as shopping carts) create bids - > quotations  - > create contract from accepted quotations and then from the contract we need to create purchase order but this one must be created in ERP (classic scenario) Someone has experimented the same situation? Best regards and thanks for your Help.
    Liam

    Hi Lima ,
Classic scenario wont support PPS .
            - Stand alone and classic scenario not supported
            - Shopping cart renamed to Purchase Requisition
            - Shopping cart generate (pre)commitment in funds management
            - Contract can create Funds Reservation (Earmarked Funds) in Funds Management as a Guarantee
            - Goods Receipt and Invoice created in ERP
            - Mixed PO: PO with lines that works like contract lines, a PO can be created from these lines
            - PO created from contracts or mixed-PO is named call-off PO. Only is a new name, is a "normal" SRM      PO
            - Goods receipt possible in SRM only in "easy" cases

  • SAP authentication and SSO into BI4 with multiple SAP systems

We have already setup SAP authentication and SSO between ECC6 and BI4, e.g. to run CR 2011 reports with data based on ECC infosets, or BEx (operational BI on ECC). ECC is the main point of entry for users, so ECC user accounts and role imports are used in BI4.
Now if we add BW to this, with Crystal or WebI or Analysis OLAP sourcing data from BW, can we still leverage detailed authorizations in BW on the corresponding BW user - with user accounts and role imports in BI4 still being ECC-based?

    Hi,
Let's say the trust relationship is setup between those systems. Then the simple example is to use Enterprise authentication in BI4, and assertion tickets are issued when making requests to ECC or BW. I assume LDAP/AD authentication would work as well.
    >> You also have to setup trust between the BI 4 and ECC & between BI4 and BW. Thats part of the setup for the SSO Token Service.
But does this scenario rule out SAP authentication or not? I was hoping that I can still logon to BI4 with an ECC-issued logon ticket, and then BI4 would nevertheless issue assertion tickets for my BW alias.
    >> And that is still possible. Setup the SSO Token Service, setup the aliases for the users. then you could logon with ECC credentials and run a BW report because the token service would then generate the token towards the BW system.

  • Possible Scenarios

    Hi,
I got some thing in my mind, when i am reading about XI. What are the possible scenarios will be needed for a given business requirment, i have some business requirment with me(ofcourse its not real, just an idea out from my mind).
First: Lets assume there is some Truck manufacturing company called <b>XYZ</b>, which spreaded its business all over the world. which has truck making units in Europe, America and Asia. Its using SAP R/3,SAP R/2 systems & Legacy systems
It has sales locations, dealers (assume they using <b>Web Based</b> and <b>Thirdy Party</b> systems)
Got some suppliers too, assume they are using standalone (third party) systems and receive & send the data by any other means.
Now, this <b>XYZ</b> company wants to integrate its R/3, R/2 Legacy, Thirdparty, Standalone, Web Applications using SAP XI.
What are all the possible scenarios needed to integrate all these things and which funtional areas? For example if we take Main Office of XYZ and one Supplier location, what are scenarios we wiill have.
Suggest me, The reason why i need like this becuase, want to deal XI in real time way..
    Thanks in advance.
    Jen

    HI,
If you are talking about Suppliers, vendors etc, then XYZ company can go for mySAP implementation first (SRM etc) then you can communicate with XI , by webservices, proxies, RFCs,Idocs etc. Because for many of the SAP application components, SAP provides predelivered content.
If your implemenation is global across the geographies, then XI can act here as a centralized integration platform.
I think, it is better to go with Case studies for a Manufacturing Firms. here you go ~

  • BI-IP with non SAP environment

    Hi,
How is BI-IP suitable for Planning , Budgeting and Forecasting with non-SAP environment?
    Regards,

    Hi UR,
BI-IP works on top of BI (datawarehouse). If you mean load data from non sap into BI and then plan with IP, it can be a good solution, if you mean plan data outside BI it is not possible.
