Possible to do silent downloads in WD ?

Hi,
When a user press a button on a WD screen, I want to generate a lot of files and transfer them to the presentation server. Obviously, I cannot use GUI_DOWNLOAD or WS_DOWNLOAD FM.
I tested cl_wd_runtime_services=>attach_file_to_response and this is working fine but there is a popup requesting where to put the file. I guess this is normal in a web environment to ensure that a web site does not send you a virus.exe file
I my case, this is a server that need to send a lot of files to another Java server and the security will be handle at the application level.
Is there a way to transfer multiple files without any prompt ? I tried to start another LUW ( (in background job, in update task....) that is not WD and use GUI_DOWNLOAD without success.
The only solution that I have right now is to save data in DB from the WD program and use an old ABAP program as a deamon to peak this DB every 5 seconds and transfer using GUI_DOWNLOAD... sooooo ugly, for sure I do not want a deamon running in my productive version...
any ideas ?
thanks !

HI,
you can use the AcfUpDownload element to download files silently to the client -- check out Thomas Jung´s blog too se how:
http://enterprisegeeks.com/blog/2009/03/31/abap-freak-show-april-1st-acf-updownload-in-web-dynpro-abap/
I have used this method myself -- it's not dead easy, but it gets the job done

This is cause by the way the App Store checks to see if an application is installed on your system.
Basically when an app is installed it is in the Applications folder and this is where the MAS looks for them. So it looks at your purchase history for the apps you bought and looks in the Applications folder to see if they are installed. If an app is in your purchase history but not in the Applications folder the MAS says you need to install it.
For normal apps this works fine but the OS doesn;t install into the Applications folder. So the MAS sees you have Mountain Lion in your purchase history but it's not in the Applications folder and so it says you need to download it.
Hopefully one of these days Apple wil fix this.

  • Is it possible to restart a download from the amount downloaded previously?

Is it possible to restart a download from the amount downloaded previously?
When I download some lectures from iTunes U, sometimes the link breaks and the download gets interupted. Then when the download is resumed it starts from 0 KB and not from the KB amount that was downloaded when the download was interupted. Is there a way to resume the download from the point it was interrupted?

Well I'm using 9.0.3.1.5 and I STILL have this same problem.
Not sure if location is a factor, but I'm a US resident with a US iTunes account but I spend most of my time in Asia and I know a LOT of folks in India, UAE, etc with it. Everything else in iTunes works perfectly fine, except resuming non-purchased downloads.
On Apple Support I could only find a solution related to Purchased downloads, but not individual unsubscribed podcasts you clicked GET on or free iTunesU content. These still go back to zero with no option to resume only restart.
I mean, every quality download manager for your web browser gives you a consistent experience in resuming almost any download except very few servers on the Internet with specific policies to not allow resumes. If there is no solution just silence, either this is one of those mysterious come-and-go bugs that are hard to replicate or maybe iTunes is conserving bandwidth by discouraging resumes of free content it doesn't make money on. Especially 100MB+ files from folks in places with reliable but slower "3rd world" connections. So I would with a half bitten lip throw an answer your question as NO, it is not possible.
I do hope someone who thinks they have a solution steps in to say Yes, it would make a lot of people very happy.

  • Is there any possible way I can download Microsoft powerpoint on my MacBook Pro OS X for free? I need it for lots of projects of my school.

    Dear Apple Inc.
I would like to know if there is any possible way I can download Microsoft Powerpoint on my MacBook Pro OS X for free? I hope you can reply as soon as you can so I can be able to do all the projects being presented to me from school on Microsoft Powerpoint.
    Thank you,
         April Navarro

These are user forums. You are not speaking to Apple here. You cannot get MS products for free. You can purchase the student version of Office for OS X from MS. You can download a 30 day free trial that you can fully activate by purchasing a license key for $139.00.
You can download a free copy of Libre Office which is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows but runs on Macs. I don't know how compatible the presentation module is to Powerpoint.

  • I am a US resident but spend several months each year at my house in England. Is it possible for me to download UK iPad apps from the iTunes Store? Right now they seem to be restricted. Can I set up an alternate iTunes account using a UK credit card?

When you go to Starbucks, you'll need to first go to Settings on your iPad and choose Network. You'll see ATTWIFI as one of the available networks. When you click on that to select it, you should be immediately sent to AT&T's sign in page. You just need to check the box that says you agree to their terms and conditions and then hit the Connect button and you'll be online. One warning, however. If your Starbucks is anything like those in Manhattan, be prepared for really slow wifi. It can be a real pain waiting for pages to load sometimes.

  • If I purchase lightroom but want to install on both a pc and a mac is that possible from just a download version rather than ordering a disc?

If I purchase lightroom but want to install on both a pc and a mac is that possible from just a download version rather than ordering a disc?

Yes, a single serial number can be used to install on two computers and one can be a PC and one a Mac.   The download will be a different installer for each platform but the serial number should activate both.

  • Long silent download after 9.3.2 update

    Hi,
I made an update of my Acrobat writer version 9.  It wen( fine although it took wome time (about 10 min for download and 5 min for installation).  HOWEVER, after the first reboot, I noticed a long silent download (no indication of what was going on, but I assumed it had to do with Acrobat because trying to check for update from within Acrobat made a message to appear telling me that the Update was already running).  After about 20 min, the download stopped and a window appeared indicating that an update was being installed.  This took about 5 min, and after a now reboot, evryting was fine.
Is this normal (i.e., an update that runs in tow successive "waves" with the second almost completly silent, and a total of more thha 30 min for the whole update...).

IPhoto orders photos using a SQLite database structure - much more up to date and much more powerful than an antique file based organization. If you do not want the organizational and search power of a SQL database then the answer is really simple. Do not use it and go back to your old fashioned methods. No one forces you to use iPhoto
As to why?  The event sort is wrong and you need to set it to the sort you want. View menu ==> event sort

  • Every time I want to download an app From AppStore when I start downloading it after I write my password there is warning that says to me that it isn't possible right now to download power DVD mobile even now were this app is deleted from my ipad

Every time I want to download an app From AppStore when I start downloading it after I write my password there is warning that says to me that it isn't possible right now to download power DVD mobile even now were this app is deleted from my ipad

The power DVD app is active, and seems to download ok.  You have already deleted the app?
I suspect what is happeneing is that a download is in your queue, and is blocking the queue until it completes, thus the message every time you try to do a down load.  It may be failing because while it thinks you have the app, it is not finding it, and doesn't know what to do.  ( sounds like a poorly designed download).
I think the way around this might be for you to resync with your iTunes, and let it reload the app onto your pad.  Let it complete the download.  Then, if you do not want the app, delete it again from your pad, and if you never want it, from I tunes as well.
The next time they do an update, you may wind up in the same situation, so if it happens again, until they fix the download routine, you will get stuck again.
So try the suggestion, and see if this clears it out.
The other option would be to open your account in I tunes on your computer, let it complete the download there.

  • Is it possible to perform silent installations

    Hi All,
We will like to install the server install for CRXIR2.

  • Silently Download e-Licenses through a Proxy?

Regarding Acrobat 8 Standard:<br /><br />It appears that my workplace could silently download e-licenses using <LicenseDownloadOptions> in the config file... <br /><br />BUT...<br /><br />a) My config file doesn't *HAVE* a <LicenseDownloadOptions> section!  Can I just insert it? Where?<br /><br />AND...<br /><br />b) We have to go through our proxy server (which does require authentication) to get to the Internet.  The settings and credentials are stored by IE, but Acrobat's post-install e-license downloader trips over it and asks for credentials anyway.  Is there any way to accomplish a silent e-license download through this type of proxy server?<br /><br />Many thanks,<br /><br />Sheree

If you did not receive a separate config file and you are using the one installed by default, you are using the "Serial Number Only" hosting option. This is the most basic option -- licenses are hosted at Adobe, but there are no options for customization. With the "Adobe Hosted" option, licenses are also hosted at Adobe, but more advanced configuration options available. Please check with the individual who has access to the Licensing Website to find out which hosting option was selected.
No, unfortunately there is not a way to store the proxy credentials through any of the setup tools.

Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

  • Family sharing - is it possible to get the download requests from my kids via email?

    Hi
I've set up the family sharing and it works really well. My kids have to get my permission to download anything.
The problem I have is that I don't always have access to my personal apple device, which is my iPad, but always have access to my work one, which is my iPhone.
As I can't put my personal apple id on my iPhone I was wondering if it was possible to set the requests to come via email?
    Thanks in advance
    Tim

At this point, this only works through Notifications on the Mac and iPad:
Request and make purchases with Ask to Buy - Apple Support
Maybe using the Notification Center on your Mac is a good alternative for using e-mail.

  • Is it possible to get a download of Snow Leopard?

I am having some kind of problem with my OS when it is first turned on following a normal end of day closure (properly shut down).  The symptoms were place on a this community several day ago with no replies to date as to possible causes/remedies.  I have come to the conclusion that the probable only way to correct the problem is a complete reinstall of Snow Leopard along with its associated upgrades (8 at the present time) but have been unable to find my original disks (DVDs).  What would be the procedure to obtain a download of the OS for reinstallation?
    Sparkgapper

Sorry, but there is no download available of the complete Snow Leopard installer. If you can't find your original disks, you'll need to call Apple tech support and order a new set, or (depending on what model of iMac you have) go to an Apple Store and purchase a retail copy of Snow Leopard. You'll need to confirm that the retail disk has a version of Mac OS X that will boot your iMac; the latest release of the retail disk I've seen has only Mac OS X 10.6.3 which will not boot the most recent systems.
    Regards.
