PowerMac is working automatically

Since 2 days our PowerMac G4 have a great problem. After starting the PowerMac beginns to write "+" onto many files on the desktop or on a partition. During that process I can't type words or stop the process. OS is 10.4.9 with classic implementation. Last night I run a antivirus program with no results. Hardware test shows good conditions. Now I make a backup of all files and then I have to reinstall the OS. Or does anyone could give me a tip for another procedure?

Hello! Almost always strange behavior relating to key strokes is found to be either something accidently pressing a key or a bad keyboard. Try unpluggiug the keyboard and trying another usb keyboard. Tom

I know. Same issue here. When I'm not recording but have the video camera on, the autofocus works fine. As soon as I tap the record button and recording starts, the focus is locked until I tap on the screen to focus. I haven't used the camera all that much because of this problem.

Messages not working (automatically quits on opening)

Messages (7.0.1) is not working (automatically quits on opening) on my desktop 2 x 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon Mac running OSX 10.8.5. I get notifications of new messages (via Notifications app I assume) but every time I try to open Messages, it quits on launch with the Problem Report dialogue window

Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.iChat.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Why would you expect it to work in 8.3, if it didn't work in a previous version? What troubleshooting have you done? Have you tried putting the car system into Pairing mode?

Software Update Not Working Automatically

Since I upgraded my OS X from Tiger to Leopard, Software Update could not have been working automatically even if it is set to check updates daily or weekly, and the machine is turned on at the scheduled time with an Internet connection. Well, by clicking on "Check Now," I can manually check to see if any updates are available, though.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

But, Software Update should run automatically according to your setting, whether or not any updates are available. If nothing is available, Software Update displays a "Last check" date and time, and says, "No updates are available" or something like that. In fact, when I just manually hit "Check Now" button, Software Update did find "Time Machine and AirPort Updates v1.0" published on 3/19/08 while I had set it in the preference "weekly" almost two weeks before.
Strange, isn't it?

This is really unfortunate. I'm sorry that nothing works. I was going to mention holding down the power button and doing a force shutdown but you already did that. You might need to take it into the Apple store. I don't know if booting into safe mode would help. You would have to turn off the machine again, hit the start button and hold down the shift key after you hear the tone, but normally you would let go of the shift key when you see the apple logo and spining wheel. Maybe by holding down the shift key after you here the tone will cause the screen to come back on? The other option is to start up from the 'install disk' if your machine came with one. You would insert the disk, then shut down the computer, and hold down the C key right after hitting the start button.

You need to start over.. the MAC addresses are different.. if you try it will fail.. even with the same names and same IP addresses because it is not the same box.. it is much better to start over.
And even use a wholly different naming structure.. short.. 2-20 characters no spaces.. and pure alphanumerics.
It doesn't take long really to redo it.

How does one make next_record built-in working automatic?

I made that table :-

(DD DATE DEFAULT sysdate NOT NULL);
and in forms 6i , I made simple form to it , and it's working correctly , but I want after I post the date in the text item go automatic to the second record to post in it the second date , and so on ......
I tried next_record in WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM but didn't work .
so ....... is there anyway to make this idea working ?!

There is no navigation in validation-triggers. The reason is: It depends of the outcome of the validation wether you are allowed to leave the item or not.
If you want to navigate to the next record you may look at the block-property "navigation style". Setting this to next_record lets the cursor move to the next record after validation of the last item.

Qosmio X500 and HDMI output does not work automatically

Good morning.
I have a Qosmio x500 recently that runs on Windows 8.1
Previously, when I plugged in a hdmi cable from the PC to the TV, I had ( Samsung TV ), after a beep on the PC , automatically binding and made ??the TV is lit ( if it was in standby).
I could even control the PC with the TV remote control, put a movie , pause, etc.. Super convenient!
Source indicated on the TV Anynet + Toshiba pc.
And when I commutais with the TV remote control on TV, the PC screen is lit .
Off, despite repeated attempts with at least 5 software (drivers ?) Different Toshiba certified HDMI, I do not have it and I have to manually switch to see the PC on the TV (choose HDMI source on the TV) .
HDMICtrlMan is a folder where after installation, there are:
ChangeOutput.exe
HCMSoundChanger.exe
HDMICtrlCfg.exe
HDMICtrlMan.exe
But nothing works !
I also updated the video and audio driver: gforce gts 360m
But now I hold!
And I do not know the logical progression of the computer when you plug an HDMI cable (totally depends on the graphics chip ?).
If someone has an idea or experience of this problem, thank you in advance

The problem is that you changed to a Windows system which is NOT supported on this notebook.
Of course you can use Windows 8.1 on this Qosmio X500 model but this does not mean that all notebook features would work properly.
Windows 8.1 is completely different and many Windows 7 tools and utilities are not compatible with Win 8.1
I dont know if this will help you but the Windows 8.1 Toshiba System Driver is very important software when in comes to use Windows 8.1 on Toshiba notebooks.
Try to install this Windows 8.1 Toshiba System Driver released for Qosmio X870/875 series.
But if this will not work, I dont see any other possible solutions.
Either you will give up the Windows 8.1 and will switch back to supported Win 7 or you would use Win 8.1 but without the automatic HDMI support.

JMS Bridge from WLS to OAS not working; automatic redirection to JMS Port

We have setup a JMS Bridge inbetween Weblogic Server 10.3.0 and Oracle App Server 10.1.3. In our test environment it is working fine. But, in LIVE, we are facing a problem. Firewall is there inbetween OAS and WLS.
1. OAS Admin port 6003, is blocked by firewall. So, from outside environment we can't connect to this port.
2. OAS Port 12401 (RMI Port) is not-blocked
3. OAS Port 12601 (JMS Port) is blocked by firewall
4. We created credential "JMS_USER" while configuring QueueConnFactory at OAS end and used it while setting up WLS JMS Bridge
We are using ormi://172.24.255.59:12401/default as Provider URL from Weblogic while creating JMS Bridge.
Problem
========
While connecting from WLS we are getting the following error from WLS end:
javax.jms.JMSException: Unable to create a connection to "apgst366/172.24.255.59:12,601" as user "JMS_USER".
     at com.evermind.server.jms.JMSUtils.make(JMSUtils.java:1050)
     at com.evermind.server.jms.JMSUtils.toJMSException(JMSUtils.java:1130)

Question

1) We are requesting for 12401; then why the JMS Port 12601 is being referred?
2) Is there any automatic redirection from OAS end?
3) Will unblocking the 12601 port by Firewall help?
Please help me, as this has become a burning issue for us.

Edit in Photoshop from Lightroom doesn't work; Automate Photomerge doesn't work

Edit in Photoshop from Lightroom doesn't work.
It opens the Photoshop application with all the menus/windows, but it never opens the actual image I chose to work on.
Likewise, I also can't automate>Photomerge ... I pick all the images for the PHotomerge and hit "okay," but nothing happens. Makes me think it's Photoshop, not Lightroom, that is all wacky.
I'm on a Mac, using OS X Yosemite, 10.10.1 Lightroom is version 5.7 Photoshop is CS5, version 12.0.4
I uninstalled Photoshop CS5 and reinstalled. No change. I also tried dumping PS preferences, but that didn't affect a thing, either.

None of my "Edit In" worked with the pictures in Lightroom for a particular folder. I expanded the 2014 folder and found that two subfolders had a "?" in front of the 2014-07-04" and another. In other words, the folder was missing. After I found the missing folders using the Lightroom "Find Missing Folder" option, I was able to use the "Edit In" menu item. The 2014 folders weren't expanded at first, so I didn't see the ? marks in front of them. With the missing folders, Lightroom's "Edit In" option was basically telling me there was no picture to "Edit In." Howerver, I have Previews and Smart Previews made when I import picture files into Lightroom. So, the "pictures" showed in the slide strip on the bottom, and also in the display in "expand," but it was actually only showing the previews I had built, not the actual missing pictures in the missing folders. I had accidentally moved some directories using Windows Explorer, and I didn't realize my "happy fingers" moved them outside of Lightroom. Of course, Lightroom has no way of knowing I moved them, and just shows the "?" before the missing folder name. After expanding the root folder, then knew what to do. Fixed it easily. It was frustrating, and took about 20 minutes to see the problem. And that fixed the greyed-out "Edit In" Photoshop CC 2014, and all the other plug-ins were greyed out too.

Gps cameras that work automatically with places in iPhoto?

I'm looking to buy a new compact camera with gps. Does anybody know if there are any that work with the places feature automatically? i just want to be able to plug the camera in and have places work without needing 3rd party software/plugins to convert the information first.

There are several - I use Sony and have an Alpha A55 and a DSC HX5V - both work perfectly (note that any GPS takes time to acquire a signal so sometimes photos get the wrong location - your previous location - and have to be corrected in iPhoto)
and both of our iPhones add GPS of course (sometimes that is helpful in correct locations from teh camera - because of the WiFi and 3G in addition to GPS the phone is usually quicker to acquire the correct location)
In general any GPS enabled camera shoudl work just fine

T420 fan not working automatically.

When I first turn on the computer, the fan doesn't rotate. The cpu reaches as high as 80C temp after startup. I hear nothing from the vents, just complete silence.
I installed tpfancontrol and setting to the bios setting didn't even work. The only way to get the fan to rotate is through the manual setting. I'd prefer the fan to automatically adjust based on how hot the cpu is. Silence when cool and rotating @ higher speeds when hot.
I've read thre are fan problems when both thinkpad power manager and tpfancontrol are active. I uninstalled both and the fan still does not rotate. Only way I can figure out a way to get it rotating again is to manually adjust fan speed from tpfancontrol.
Because the fan doesn't even rotate during startup, I have a feeling it's a problem with the bios. But I see no setting related to temperature or fan in the bios.

You may update the BIOS and check if it resolve the issue.

PowerMac won't automatically sleep

While this isn't a specific Leopard issue (it was like this in Tiger), I'm on Leopard now so this is where I'm posting.
For some time, as indicated above, my Mac has not gone to sleep. Its been so long I can't tell you when it started or if it ever did. I was happy to have my Mac on 24/7 in the knowledge that at least my display went to sleep and it was there for me working in the background and making a noise if I had a mail day or night (although I tended to mute the speakers at night). However in the interests of power consumption I really want the ability for it to sleep after a prolonged time.
It does seem to sleep if left on the login screen which suggests that its something on my profile. I have also eliminated the peripheral hardware by disconnecting everything, even the bluetooth dongle on my keyboard that left my wireless mighty mouse annexed for the duration of the test.
I said "automatically" in the topic as I can manually send it to sleep with the power button. If I do this the logs look pretty much like this.
