Preventing View code of page

Hi
Seen a site the other day
http://www.tochin.net/design.htm
which prevents you viewing the code (prevents the right mouse
click event)
How is this done ?

Carlo

You mean this code -
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01
Transitional//EN">
<html><!-- InstanceBegin
template="/Templates/main.dwt"
codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->
<head>
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
<!-- Begin
function popPortal(URL) {
day = new Date();
id = day.getTime();
eval("page" + id + " = window.open(URL, '" + id + "',
'toolbar=0,scrollbars=1,location=0,statusbar=0,menubar=0,resizable=1');");
// End -->
</script>
<!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="doctitle" -->
<title>Professional website design UK Bucks High

<!-- InstanceEndEditable -->
Don't even bother trying to do such a silly thing....

    INDIAJSP and Servlets are programs/scripts that run on the server. The user/clients only sees the HTML output generated by the server. If you want to hide JavaScript from casual users then you can put the JavaScript code in a seperate file. This file can however be read from the Cache.

    I have created a email in Fireworks and wanted to make a line of text a hyperlink that would take the viewer to a page on my website. I want to attach the final document to my email and sending it out.

    1) design for no wider than 600px (otherwise it may not fit in email clients).
    2) Slice up your newsletter design in segments for images and html areas with the slice tool.
    3) add the <a href="http://www.yourwebsite.com">my website</a> link in one of the html areas.
    4) export as generic html 4 code, and put the images in a separate folder.
    5) upload all the images to your website's server in a folder (you cannot embed images in an email newsletter - they must link to externally hosted images).
    6) change all the links in your html page to the ones that were loaded up on your server. For example, an image's source link would work out similar to this: <img src="http://www.yourwebsite.com/newsletter/image1.jpg" alt="alternate description of your image">
    7) open the newsletter with working external images in Chrome or Firefox. Select the entire page content (ctrl-a), and copy it (ctrl-c).
    8) create a new email in your mail client. Place the cursor in the body. Paste the newsletter (ctrl-v).
    9) send your newsletter to hundreds of recipients, and get blacklisted by several email servers. Receive warning messages from your own hosting provider not to spam other users' email accounts.
    10) realize this is too much of a hassle, and instead opt for a service such as MailChimp.
    (The result in (9) depends on whether you sent out your newletter only to acquaintances, or not. But even then you might be warned off.)
    Btw, many email clients turn off images in an email by default. You must provide the most important content as html, not as images.

  • Not able to view my web pages in Safari

    I am having problems viewing my web pages in the Safari browser and wondered if anyone can help solve the mystery?
    The site was created in iWeb '08, and was loaded to .Mac. I did not want the site to be hosted on .Mac as I already have a domain, but the CNAME process that is described by .Mac is not supported by my hosting service, so I had to ask my hosting service (Freeola) to route the service to their servers and provide masking so the .Mac address would not show in the browser bar.
    This works absolutely fine in Firefox and the page loads up without a problem.
    However, when I enter the site address in the Safari browser, the name appears in the bar, and then the blue progress bar does 2 sweeps and then a blank page appears, but with the site mame at the top of the window. If I click the cursor on any point on the bank page, a grey horizontal line appears, and then disappears, but still no opening page!
    I cannot work out whether this is an issue with the original coding in iWeb '08 and a compatability issue with Safari ( I am using v2.0.4 on all my 3 machines, and the problem is the same), or it's something to do with the way my hosting service is routing the site.
    I have asked others to view the site on PC's using IE, and they do not seem to have a problem so far.
    I am not a web designer, and know absolutely nothing about writing code and HTML, hence using the simplicity of iWeb, but this seems a strange thing to happen. If I enter the original .Mac site hosting address in Safari, the site shows up just fine!!
    Has anybody else had this type of problem?? Any help would be gratefully received, as this thing is driving me crazy!!
    Cheers.

    Further to my earlier post, I have just read an entry noting that if you already own a domain name, and ask your hosting service to forward and mask your iWeb '08 created, web.mac.com site to your personal domain, chances are that due to the masking of the site on web.mac.com, Safari browsers interpret the masking as being the end of the site, and as such, just return a blank page?
    This may explain the problem. However, call me old fashioned, and possibly a little naive, but surely this cannot be the problem?? It's OK in Firefox!

  • Viewing CSS fomated pages in Design View DW MX 2004

    I am using DW MX 2004. I have imported a new clients site and
    am trying to view the pages in DW. The web site is completely
    formated using CSS. When the document is opened in DW I do not see
    any of the page. The page views fine when previewing in a browser.
    How do I get the css to execute/render in DW MX 2004s design view?
    Thanks in advance for any help!
    TroCat

    Definitely 'exceeded the capability' of DW's
    DoWhatIWantNotWhatICode
    function.

    Design View is just an approximation of how the page will appear minus any scripting. Never rely on it for anything more than a quick reference "click the element to select it" style interface.
    Live View is a "mostly there" version of a Webkit browser (Safari or Chrome). It's more accurate, but still doesn't give you everything.
    Preview in Browser is your page in an actual browser that is installed on your machine (not an emulation) and should be used to determine how your page will actually appear. The more browsers you preview in, the better. I test in IE10 (9, 8 and 7 in dev tools), Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera using PIB.
    Make sure to run your pages through the validator at http://validator.w3.org to catch any coding errors. HTML errors are one of the biggest causes of display problems between Design View, Live View and each individual browser and browser version.

  • Inserting code into pages?

    I have snippets of code, like for stat trackers and skype icons, and I can't figure out how to insert the code into pages without having to first export it into html, view source, import the source into NVU and then save it again. This is a big hassle to go through whenever I change the page, and I am wondering if there is a way to put the code directly into the pages document itself. Appreciate any answers.

    Copy and paste definitely does not work... Here is the code:
    <!-- Start of StatCounter Code -->
    <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
    var sc_project=1382179;
    var sc_invisible=0;
    var sc_partition=12;
    var sc_security="3cd1b24a";
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://www.statcounter.com/counter/counter.js"></script><noscript> </noscript>
    <!-- End of StatCounter Code -->
    Is there any way to make this into an image without losing any of its properties (I have found ways to make this into an image, but it loses all the code behind it and becomes a "dumb" image).

    hello,
    How to clean the html code multiple pages simultaneously with Dreamweaver or other soft ? I have hundreds of pages to clean
    Thanks !

    I would start afresh. I would also use Dreamweaver's template system to make thing a lot easier. Have a look at the following, copy and paste into a new document and view in your favourite browser.

    I had tried to configure the java development kit to the relevant directory in the catalina.bat file. Am I configuring in the wrong place?

    If you haven't already, you need to set the JAVA_HOME environment variable.
    Setting it in catalina.bat is the wrong place. In Windows XP you can set the environment variables by
    1 - right click My Computer: propreties.
    2 - Advanced Tab
    3 - Button "Environment Variables" (near the bottom)
    4 - add a System Variable: JAVA_HOME to be the place you installed java
    JAVA_HOME should point to the directory you installed java. ie NOT to the java/bin directory (one common error)
    Hope this helps,

  • How to execute a view object on page load

    Hi
    I have got two pages, one is login page and the other is search page.
    When ever the user who has logged in, navigates to the search page,
    following events should occur.
    1) a view object should get executed. This view object should check whether there is a default search for the user who has logged in( the check is made based on a boolean variable). This particular view object has got a bind variable.
    a) logged in user.
    Based on who ever has logged in, the bind variable should be set as the logged in user and all the attributes concerning the default search for the logged in user must be populated in select input text components in the search page. ( there are certain select input text components in the search page).
    If there is no default search for the logged in user, then the search page should open up, but without any values populated in the select input text component.
    Please let me know if i am not clear with my question.
    My ultimate aim is to execute a view object on page load for which the bind variable is set as the logged in user.

    actually, your requirement isn't exactly to execute a view object on "a" page load, as in ageneric page load, that would be little more intensive , with you requiring an invokeAction in your page bindings etc.
    Yours, i presume is a simple case wherein if you link your login command button at the initial screen to a method in your managed bean, should do the trick. Within the managed bean method code ,
    get the username ( which you can probably store on the request at time of login) ,
    get hold of your view object,
    set the bind variable ,
    execute the query on the VO ,
    return an appropriate string outcome , which is handled by your faces context navigation rules.
    Fairly straightforward procedure, unless there's something extra you want to do apart from just that.

  • Can I view a single page of a document, previously created in Microsoft Word, in its entirety on the screen (ipad or iphone) without having to drag the page, i.e. one page per screen?

    Looking to choose an app for viewing word documents, but need to be able to view a complete page per screen (preferably full screen) without having to 'nudge' the screen 'up' to view the bottom of the page.
    Will Pages do the job?

    Not exactly.
    You will find yourself nudging the page up or down a bit. Earlier versions of iOS Pages allowed "full page view" but that really wasn't full page either. You can squeeze the view to fit, but as soon as you release it, the document springs back to normal size - it is only about a line off from what you are looking for.
    An alternative would be to view a Pages Document as a PDF and view the PDF in an app such as GoodReader - there you can see both the top and bottom edges of each page. There are many other PDF viewers available in the App Store.
    Hope this helps.

  • Why does Firefox crash when I try to view my Twitter page?

    For the past week, almost every time I try to open a new tab to go to Twitter.com (or right-click on a link in a tweet), Firefox crashes on me. Today when I tried to go to Twitter, Firefox will only load the Twitter navigation bar and not the rest of the page. I have attempted to view my Twitter page multiple times.
    I can view my Twitter page in IE, Google Chrome and Opera, but not Firefox, which is my preferred browser. Have there been any changes to Firefox in the last week that could have caused this?

    You already posted some of the crash report links in another thread that you had created, so I'm going to lock this thread.
