Print each section as separate PDF

I am looking for a way to export each section as a separate PDF rather printing and then splitting out the file manually.
Any thoughts?

Section.pageStart (the start page for the section) and Section.length (the number of pages in the section) will help.<br /><br />You can access each section individually using<br /><br />>app.activeDocument.sections.length<br /><br />(which gives you the number of sections), and<br /><br /><pre>for (i=0; i<app.activeDocument.sections.length; i++)<br /><br />{<br /><br />   currentSection = app.activeDocument.sections[i];<br /><br />   .. do something with currentSection.pageStart and currentSection.length (for example, export it)<br /><br />}</pre><br />to loop over all.

  • How to not print a section inside a PDF file

    Hey PDF nation,
I have full color PDF file with multiple pages on our site which has a blue background all over. The issue is if you want to print it, you'll run out of ink. On the other hand I can't change the design and make the background white. Is there anyway to tell your PDF file to print some sections differently or not to print? Am I out of luck?
    Thanks in advance.

You're out of luck, unless you have Photoshop or Illustrator in which you can open the PDF and edit it.

  • Display Each Section as Separate Sheet in EXCEL

    Hi,
I have section report in WebI. My requirement is user want to see Each section in a separate sheet in excel ..
    How to acheive this?
    For Example:
I am using REGION as a section.
I need a excel output like
    Quote:
    REGION1 in Sheet1
    REGION2 in Sheet2
    REGION3 in Sheet3

    For that:
    Two options you have:
    1.  LiveOffice (One more tool from BO - for MS Office tools)
    2. Doing manual work on Excel, as we want.
    LiveOffice:
-- Which is Add-on to all MS Office tools. From MS Office tools, you can call/Import any Report/ Part of report from Infoview.
    Options you have here:
    1. Crystal Reports accessing
    2. Web Intelligence reports accessing
    3. BusinessQuery/ Universe Query -- To do ad-hoc reporting.
    Hope you got it.

  • Save as PDF' splits MS-Word Sections into separate PDFs

This is more of an FYI than a question,
Original topic: http://discussions.info.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8068226 it has already been archived and I can't reply to it.
Problem description: when printing a single work document to PDF two PDF files are generated and the original content is divided between the two PDFs. This only appears to affect MS word as preview and text edit print fine.
Possible fix: For the file in question, MS word 2008 had a hidden section break after a return character in the middle of the document. it didn't show up even after show non-printable characters was enabled. Pressing return a few times after the last return character flushed out the offending section break, deleting it fixed the issue.
The file was originally composed on a PC running Office 2003.
    Hope this helps!

    Hi Nigel,
I just created a new document in Word 2004. I typed in one line of text then inserted a page-break section, and typed text on the second page.
When I print, and save to PDF, it generates one PDF document with 2 pages in it.
I have routinely saved-to-PDF larger 20 or 30 page Word documents with multiple sections, and they have saved to single PDF files.
Have you installed something different or extra to allow PDF generation?
I am currently using Leopard, but this also worked the same in Tiger and probably earlier.
As a work-around, open one of the PDF files in Preview, open the side tray (if it's not already) and drag the other files into their prospective locations in the tray. Then save the PDF and they'll all be in one file.

  • Mutlipage document - client requests each as a separate PDF

  • Select each page for a separate PDF

I did a cash flow 60 month spreadsheet, with the help of this forum.
the spreadsheet is by year, the years are separated by a blank column, I would now like to create a PDF for each year.
in other words 5 separate PDf's and forward them via e-mail.
Is there a way of doing this ??
The only thing I can do is to drag and drop BUT it appears as a picture graphic and it shows in an e-mail as a full documents not an attachment.
    Any help would be great
    Greg

    Hi Greg,
From your description of the table layout, you designed your project while wearing your Excel hat. The Numbers way to do the same job would be to have a separate table for each year, particularly if you anticipate wanting to print each year on a separate page. Using the Print View, you can adjust the position of each table to be on a separate page of the Sheet. Then when you print your Sheet, each year will be on a separate page. If you want to print the pages to separate PDF files, you can use the expanded Print dialog to determine which pages to print.
It's not too late to make separate tables of your one big table. Just highlight a year's worth of data and then grab it and pull it out of the table. A new table will be formed with just a year's worth in the new table.
Regarding how the PDF attachments appear in your email, OSX Mail is just trying to do you a favor by giving you a preview of the PDF attachment. It's still just an attachment, and not all mail clients will give the user this preview. If you want to suppress the preview, maybe zipping the file before attaching will do the trick.

  • How do I copy different parts of the page into separate pdf files?

I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and an assortment of very large pdfs that I want to make into about a thousand individual pdfs.  The pages contain text and I want to be able to copy parts of the page into separate different pdfs.  It would be really nice if I could split up the page into the required sections by highlighting all the different sections on the page and then save each section to individual pdfs all at once.  Acrobat has so many features that I am hoping that it can do something like this.  Thanks  Anewbie282

With the number of pages you are talking about, there is no real easy solution. However, try extracting the page(s) you want in a new file. After the extracted file exists, try using the object select tool to remove the parts you do not want. You might find using the redaction tool to zero out the parts you don't want might work better. Unfortunately, a PDF is not a word processor type data file and the editing is likely not going to be easy.

  • Exporting or Printing each page of a Crystal Report to a separate pdf file.

Is there a way to export or print each page of a Crystal report to a separate pdf file?  If possible, I would look to use the family nunmber field in my report as the file name.  This is not required, but would be helpful.  Thanks

    Hello,
Standalone CR Designer doesn't have the ability but CR Server or BOE does. Or if you have a .NET or Java you could write an app that would spit out one page at a time.

  • Printing separations to pdfs, how do I make separate pdf files instead of one multipage file

Every day at least a dozen times I print spot color separations for film through the print dialogue to pdf, and every single time I have to either print the spot colors one at  a time, or open the multipage pdf in Acrobat and use the clunky extract page function to get separate files.  I've been doing it a long time and it drives me bonkers, is there any way to just get it to print separate pdfs?
Then I have to rename each sep to have the color in the file name.  If there was a way to automate that I'd find myself with all kinds of spare time on my hands. I could go to the gym, lose some weight, possibly live longer.
    Thanks in advance

I send them to clents remotely.  I don't print the films myself, other people do it.  Most of the time those other people don't really know what they are doing, and are under killer deadlines, so I make the files as simple and comprehensible as possible.
Also the files need to get ganged up for filmsetters occasionally, so if we have a bunch of left chest prints (3 inches wide by less then an inch tall), for instance, we can put them all on one 11x17 piece of film by drag and dropping them into an ai file. To save film.

  • What is the issue? When printing a 30x42 drawing PDF with 5 pages. The first drawing prints properly, but none of th eothers do. IF I print each separately, by selecting "current page" they print fine. Oh this is for Acrobat XI Standard.

RE Acrobat XI Standard. When printing a 30x42 Drawing PDF with more than 1 page only the first page prints properly the rest are not the proper size or centered. Did I miss a setting? For now I can work around it by printing each page using the "Current Page" setting, but this delays me when there is more than 20 pages etc..

I have a document made up of separate PDF files which reside in a folder and are linked to each other via hyperlinks. Each pdf file is set to open with bookmarks displayed, however if I link from one PDF file to another and use the "Previous View" button to navigate back to my starting point the bookmarks are replaced by "page thumbnails". Is there anyway to stop this from happening?

    Hi Pusman,
While setting up the links, if you choose to open the file in a new window then you won't face this issue, then you can simply switch to the previous file and bookmark view will remain as it is.
Does that helps with your query?

  • Is it possible to give each page within one pdf document a specific set of print settings?

I have a complex document (catalogue) that requires printing. There are several different printer settings required and each one is specific to each page within the document. For instance pg 1 is single sided in colour, page 2-3 is duplexed in b&w, page 3-8 is duplexed in colour, etc.... Is it possible to give each page within the pdf document a given set of print settings and then print the entire document as a whole?

    Hi jennyskop
I assume that is not feasible ...You need to give the print command again and select the respective pages and their settings !
