Printed cheque - comma and decimal point

Hi,
My company use pre-printed cheque to make payment. However, there is some error with the printed cheque. When printed, the decimal point and the comma is somehow mixed out.
For example, amount of $1,300.50   -   will appears as $1.300,50
Why is this so ? How do I recrtify the problem ? It only happens to some cheque. Some are ok.
Thanks.
Angel.

  • Comma and Decimal point

    Hi Gurus,
I am encountering a problem regarding printout of our SOA
Instead of the standard format of the total value (comma then decimal point (ex. 2,559.62)) output is (decimal point then comma(ex. 2.559,62)). This always happens to a particular customer only. What should I do?
    Regards,
    Jay

    Hi,
The decimal notation of numbers in Visual Composer is based on the Locale as set in the Portal
(User Administration -> select user (or group) -> Language)
if language is not set, it's based on IE language, and afterwards on the OS language.
therefore, setting a number field formatting to "LOCALE_NUM" or checking the "Local Format" checkbox in the field's formatting tab, will cause the runtime to format the number according to the above.
Your customer is probably currently on a non US locale.

  • Labview Database Connection Toolkit and decimal point

    Hi,
on my system I use "," (comma) as decimal point.
In Labview Options I unflagged "Use localized decimal point", and numeric controls and indicators use "." (dot) as decimal point.
The problem is that Labview Database Connection Toolkit keeps returning floating point numbers as strings with comma as decimal point.
    Has anyone experienced this issue?
Is this related to Labview or MySQL ODBC Connector (that I'm using to connect to a mySQL DB)?
Thanks in advance for any help,
    Marco

You have two or three places to look. First there is the DCT. Second, there's a couple layers there that could cause problems (the mySQL drivers and ADO) and then there's even the posibility that the issue could be in the DBMS itself.
I would start by burrowing down through all the DCT layers and find the spot where the results are actually being read back fromt he database. If the resutls are read as variants and converted to LV datatypes, the problem is on the LV side. If the values are being read as strings and converted, the problem coiuld be on the other side.

  • How do I Change decimal comma for decimal point

    Hello,
I have an external USB keyboard and I don't know how do I change the decimal comma for the decimal point.
I already set my region but anyway I can't change the decimal comma for the decimal point.
    thanks

Thanks for the link, that help me a lot, because now when I'm in excel or a calculator I hit the point key on the numeric part of my keyboard and I get a point, but when I'm in word, safari or entourage and I hit the point key on the numeric part of my keyboard I get a comma instead a point.
I have a windows Spanish ISO extended keyboard.

  • Currency and decimal points

Hi, I have a simple spreadsheet where I'm entering dollar amounts.  I'd like to format the cells so that if I type, 1636, the result will be $16.36.  I've already got the cells set to currency, but I can't figure out how to get Numbers to auto-add the cents decimal point if I don't manually add it myself.
It's probably pretty easy, but I've looked around the forum for answers and I can't figure this out myself.  Help is appreciated.
    Andy

    Hi Andy,
Numbers doesn't support converting the value entered into a cell into a different value in the same cell.
You can do the conversion in a second cell, using a formula:
    C2:  =IF(LEN(B2)>0,B2/100,"")

  • South America localization with comma decimal points

    Hello All:
I am doing a simple division on a formatted search. However it is south america localization and it has the comma as decimal point instead of period. If I just do value 1 / value 2 it give me error message. if I replace , and then cast to numeric and then divide it works. But put in a trigger by formatted search it comes out as a wrong monetary value. The UDF for the FS is a quantity value. Not monetary!
How does anyone do normal division and multiple with South America localization?
Thank you for all the help!

The field itself is actually a UDF of type Quantity. So using the quantity select $[$38.11.0]/$[rdr1.U_myfield]
I suppose for checks you can just divide quantity by price or something! But it doesn't seems  to work for me!

    You may use the option
    field(.0) for printing the quantity
    field(.2) for printing the amount..
Go through SAP help given below..
    <b>Number of Decimal Places
A program symbol of one of the data types DEC, QUAN, and FLTP can contain decimal place data. Use the option below to override the Dictionary definition for the number of decimal places for the formatting of this symbol value.

    &symbol(.N)&
The EKPO-MENGE field contains the value 1234.56. The Dictionary definition specifies 3 decimal places and an output length of 17.
    &EKPO-MENGE& -> 1,234.560
    &EKPO-MENGE(.1) -> 1,234.6
    &EKPO-MENGE&(.4) -> 1,234.5600

  • Setting decimal point to "," instead of "."

    Hello
Can any body tell me how to set format for numeric amount in order to have
Decimal point set to "," instead of "." and thousount separator set to
blank instead of comma in HTMLDB
    thank

When you create an application, you can select the language of the application.
Select the language which uses the convention you want, e.g., French (France).
You can select the application language at:
Home > Application Builder, Select "Create"
Home > Create Applicaiton, Navigate Method > Name > Pages > Tabs > Shared Components > Attribute
Once the application is created, you can specify the number format on the number type column in each page. Select the one that uses group separator and decimal point, for example, 999G999G999G999G990D00.
You can specify the number format at:
Home > Application Builder> your application > Page Definition > Report Attributes > Column Attributes

  • Pages: graphics and decimal digit

I wondering if I am missing something with pages
I am doing a graphic and I am filling the table with numbers for example 0,078
when I look to the graphic, pages shows only 0 without the decimal digits.
so, as my numbers (price of KWh in France!!) are all between 0,0.... , all the points on the curve stay at 0 !
is it impossible to do graphic like that with page ?
    thanks for help

    Eric, IanB,
I think it's a bug. Using comma as decimal "point" just causes Pages' Y-axis labelling to act as Eric described (I got the same result with German settings).
    Eric, try this workaround:
    Go to System Preferences/International
    Choose the Formats tab
Select a Region that uses decimal points (e.g. United States)
If you don't see all regions, mark the checkbox at "Show all regions"
(Close Pages and re-)open Pages and open your file
It should now use decimal points (that's why IanB had no problem) and
    the labelling should be ok.
Turn your chart into an image (e.g. select it, command-c, open Preview, command-v, save the file)
Set the Region back to your original setting
Close and re-open Pages and your file
Replace the chart with the image you created
I think it's worth to file a bug report.

  • How to print space as thousand seperator and comma as decimal seperator

    Hi All,
I have requirement where I need to print the amounts with space as thousand seperator and comma as decimal seperator.
I have a field wrshb which is of type mhnd-wrshb. currently I am printing this. In the adobe layout I have declared this coloumn as Decimal field.
Now in the output it is printing as comma as thousand seperator and dot as decimal seperator.
For example ,currently the value is printing as 32,811.41
but I want the amount as 32 811,41
I have declared the variable as char16,  using write statement in the interface I moved the value from currency field to char field.
Then in debugging i checked the value comes as 32,811.41 and it goes to dump with teh reason-cannot interpret as a number.
Can anyone help me in fixing this?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Karthik Ganti.

    Hi Adam,
As per initial requirement, I have set the format such that the amount is printing in below format as required.
    Locale---Italian.
Space as thousand seperator and comma as decimal seperator.
    for example 1 234,45
As some of the Currencies will not have decimals, now users would like to print amount without decimals. For example in my case amount  printing in KRW ( Korean currency ) is also similar to the above format which is wrong.
for example Now amount is printing as 55 000,00. But actually it should be 550 000. Similarly for JPY currency also, as it doesnot haves decimals ( checked in TCURX table ).
I have written some logic in the interface. below is the logic.
    WRITE:
        wa_mhnd1-wrshb to wa_item-wrshb CURRENCY WA_ITEM-WAERS.
*READ TABLE lt_tcurx INTO lwa_tcurx WITH KEY currkey = wa_item-waers BINARY SEARCH.
      IF sy-subrc  = 0.
      IF lwa_tcurx-currdec = '0'.
REPLACE ',' WITH SPACE INTO WA_ITEM-WRSHB.
REPLACE ',' WITH SPACE INTO WA_ITEM-WRSHB.
      else.
REPLACE ',' WITH SPACE INTO WA_ITEM-WRSHB.
REPLACE ALL OCCURRENCES OF '.' in  wa_item-wrshb WITH ','.
    endif.
    ENDIF.
    a. when the write statement gets executed amount will be in ,. ( 1,234.45 )format. Then my logic gets executed correctly. In this company code is CH10 ( EUR ) and KR10.
    b. But sometimes after the write statement gets executed amount will be in ., format ( 1.234.45 ). In this case my logic works, but gives the wrong value. In this case company code is VN10 ( EUR )
In both the cases currency is EUR.
Will the decimal format change accordingly based on the company code code currency. Can you please tell me why write statement behaved differently.
Do I need to change any locale in the adobe form, or any other logic to be written in interface. ?  I am trying it out from long time, but not able to fix it.
Can  you please help me how to achieve this ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Karthik Ganti.

  • Sap Script : getting comma in place of decimal point & viceversa

ex: 1426.88  is printed as 1.426,88
please provide me solution as early as possible
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Swathi,
    Check this info.
I am providing two ways with some sample code, you modify it accordingly to your code.
THIS PROCEDURE IS BY CHANGING SETTINGS :
In your user profile, change the decimal format you are currently using.
    System->User Profile->Own data.
Go to defaults tab and then change your decimal notation.
THIS PROCEDURE IS WITHOUT CHANGING DEFAULT SETTINGS:
    Report YH642_TEST.
    TABLES:
    mard.
    DATA : W_mard_labst type p decimals 3,
    w_dt1(18).
    data:
    W_N TYPE I.
SELECT SINGLE * FROM MARD INTO MARD WHERE LABST = '10000.00'.
    WRITE: mard-labst .
    W_mard_labst = mard-labst.
    WRITE:/ W_mard_labst .
    w_dt1 = w_mard_labst .
    write W_mard_labst to w_dt1.
    Hope this resolves your query.

  • Problem with comma and point

    Hello,
I have a problem with comma and point in a double-digit.
I use a english driver for HM8142. When I get the values then I only get
int-digits. How can I change "Use comma as separator" . I tried to change
    the option in LabVIEW.
I changed it, then I got the window. "To change, restart the programm". I
have done this. But when I have a look at the option, it is not changed.
    What can I do?
I am not the admin on the computer.
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
you do not have to change any system settings neither in LabVIEW nor in your windows.
All instrument drivers should use a point as decimal separator. You can overwrite the decimal point handling in the string functions "Scan from string" and "Format into string".
Make a right click on the function and use "Edit Scan String". In the dialog open the ring under "Selected operation", the last entry allows you to set the character for the decimal separator. This separator will be used for all the following floating point numbers.
From your name and problem I think you are located in central europe. I do not have a german version of LV so I cannot tell you how the elements are named in german.

  • Comma instead of decimal point

Is there a global way to doubles and floats to use a comma instead of a decimal point (like we do in Europe) when output as a string? (as opposed to having to reformat each number individually every time I want to display it)

    Kramis wrote:
Thanks. Writing code internally is no problem with a dot. Will the locale of my computer determine the string output style automatically?I'm not sure what exactly to change on your PC to make that happen, but yes, I believe you can do this. This varies on every OS, of course, but you should look into your OS's country- and/or location settings.
    Kramis wrote:
... but then I assume I have to use it every time I output to a string with each individual number. That is correct.
    Kramis wrote:
... I was hoping for a more global method. You could place the formatter(s) in a separate class and invoke them from there: no need to create new formatter(s) every time you want to display a number. But you will have to do yourFormatter.format(aDouble) every time though.
