Printing HTML data of a grid

Hello All,
I have a container in which I am displaying 6 ALV grids. Of these 6 grids the data in first grid is populated using 'add_static_html' method of class cl_dd_document.This data is in HTML format. Other 5 grids are displayed using normal set_table_for_first_display method.
While taking printout I am able to convert the grid data of 5 grids (other than the grid which is having data in HTML format ) to list data using REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_APPEND function module and then using REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_DISPLAY FM I am able to print it. Can somebody please let me know how to print the data of grid having HTML display, in same format and same style as it is displayed in grid output. Let me tell you that I need to print all 6 grids in a single page which I am able to do using he above mentioned FM's. Since all grids are to be displayed in same page so I can't use set_frontend_print method of grids. Please suggest the solutions.
Note: Helpful answers will be duly rewarded.

Ok, you specifically asked for SQL.
Here goes:
SQL> with t as (select 1 id from dual union all
           select 12 id from dual union all
           select 2231 id from dual union all
           select 221 id from dual union all
           select 21 id from dual union all
           select 5 id from dual union all
           select 56 id from dual)
select ltrim(max(sys_connect_by_path(id, ',' )), ',') unordered_list
     from (select id, rownum rn from t)
   start with rn = 1
   connect by prior rn = rn-1
UNORDERED_LIST
1,12,2231,221,21,5,56

  • How to print the data in the grid?

    Hi all,
    I'm new to java. So, I need some helps.
    I want to print the data in the grid. Data could be more than one page. But I have no idea how to start writing code.
    Please let me know if you know.
    Thank you.
    DT.

    Follow this steps.
    1- the Grid which you wish to print must locate in a class which implements Printable() interface.
    e.g.
    import javax.swing.table.*;
    import java.awt.print.*;
    import javax.infobus.*;
    public class myGridControl extends GridControl implements Printable{
    // add the following statements in the definition section of your class
    int m_maxNumPage =1;
    JTable m_table;
    TableModel m_tableModel;
    ScrollableRowsetAccess myRs;
    // add the folowing statemnts in the
    //constructor or init method or start method
    //(Notice:if you couldn't print, possible
    //you didn't put these stetment on the right
    //location and one or all of them
    //are "null".change the location and make
    //sure they are not null when you issue a
    //print order)
    m_table = new JTable();
    m_table = masterGrid.getTable();
    m_tableModel = m_table.getModel();
    myRs = (ScrollableRowsetAccess)masterGrid.getDataItem();
    3- add following methods to your class(myGridControl). just cut and paste.
    // Print Methods
    public void printData() {
    try {
    PrinterJob prnJob = PrinterJob.getPrinterJob();
    prnJob.setPrintable(this);

  • How to print formatted data / report on user's printer in Web Application

    Hi All
    I want to print some formatted data/report ( it might be 1000 pages) on user's printer.
    application is web based and tech. used are Java - jsp - servlets
    now prob. is ...
    how i will transfer all data to client (web browser) from the server and how i can print that data on user's printer ...??
    there is requirement that I can not use applet for this purpose.
    if any one done or have idea then let me know.
    thanks
    Shailesh Koradiya

    Hi
    Its simple, first of all break ur data in terms of pages. Write the logic in one JSP.
    suppose i have jsp PrintReport.jsp , for page 1 url will PrintReport.jsp?page=0 ... so on
    get the page parameter in JSP
    String page="";
    if(request.getParameter("page")!=null)
    page=request.getParameter("page");
    get the rowcount from the Result and assume records per page is 100
    if u have 1000 rows then 10 pages u have to serve
    StartRowNumber=page*recordsPerPage
    EndRowNumber=StartRowNumber+recordsPerPage
    Execute a SQL query , select * from table where rownum between
    StartRowNumber and EndRowNumber
    Provide google like pageNumbers in ur HTML page
    ie 1 2 3 4 5 6 ..10
    Regarding printing , Create HTML button called 'print' and add Javascript ' window.print()' on clicking it.
    Hope it would solve ur problem
    Cheers

  • Print Issue with Sorted ALV Grid

    Hi Team,
    I am using ALV display for my Program. Iam using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY. Also i have a Sorting condition for my ALV grid. So iam filling the Sort table & passing it to the Function module. The data is displayed correctly with Sorting as required in the Output.
    Now the issue is with: Print from this ALV. When we try to print the data, The requirement is that the Print should be same as how it is displayed in the ALV. "Grouped Columns"..... But now, the Print is that all the data is filled in all the columns. But user wants the Print also to appear  same as it is shown in a Sorted ALV display.(With some similar column data missing in succeding sort columns until new entry starts)
    Please suggest a solution to acheive the same.
    Thanks & regards,
    Chaitanya

    Look at Q#19 in the note 1009650. Merging functionality is available only for ALV grid display.

    Work around would be to display the excel in the SAP window (Excel in Place)  and print it from Excel. Read the following thread to make the necessary settings to make it work. Download Report exactly same as seems with Layout set !!

  • ___Advice on how to print html from an applet___

    I have been working on this problem for a little while, but still can't find a good solution. I ask for any help/advice I can receive on this matter.
    Below is what I have already tried:
    1) Place the HTML within a JEditorPane and print the graphics object.
    * In order to do this I would have to display the HTML, which I do not want to do.
    * I have also tried placing the HTML within a JEditorPane and not display it, but I get no data from printing the graphics object.
    2) Print the View classes that contain the text by placing the html into a JEditorPane ex) JEditorPane.getUI().getRootView(jeditorPane).
    * This method is how the following article prints HTML: http://www.fawcette.com/javapro/2002_12/online/print_kgauthier_12_10_02/
    * This class prints each "leaf" view, which unfortunately will not print lists or table borders b/c they are contained in "branch" views. I have not been able to convert this class to print the branch views in a nice looking format.
    3) Use a DocFlavor of type "text/html" and send document to the printer.
    * Some printers can render html, but these are few and far between. Most printers I am dealing with do not accept type text/html.
    Below are some things I am thinking about trying:
    1) Convert the HTML to postscript and print the postscript.
    * I have no clue how to do this. I have searched the internet for code and found nothing but perl code (but I am using a java applet).
    2) Save the html file to users disk and open html file in new browser window. Then use javascript print function.
    * I really do not want to have to save files to the users disk just to print. This seems like the easiest way, but is also the least user-convient way.
    I would greatly appreciate any advice on printing HTML using java. Should I re-examine the methods I already tried? Can anyone give input on the methods I am planning to try? I would think this is a common problem, but I am having a hard time finding answers.
    Thanks for your interest and any help you can provide :)

    I tried the Java printing API in 1.4.2 but found it hopeless in terms of printing anything without using AWT.
    Also since the print service was going to be on Windows machine I used jawin (http://sf.net/projects/jawinproject/) to query the registry for the command to print a particular extension and then exec that command.

  • SQL query result with HTML Data in output

    Hello,
    I have a SQL table , in one column I store HTML data. I need to query the table and get the HTML data in the columns that have 'HREF'. The output shows as grid on the sql management studio, however when I export it to excel, the HTML data does not get copied
    correctly, since there are HTML tags etc.
    How can I export the report correctly from SQL ?

    Hello,
    The HTML data is stored in a column with datatype as nvarchar(max). Sample data in the column is shown below. It is with formatting etc and is rendered as is on the web page. the business wants to generate a quick report so that they can see the pages that
    have links displayed. I can do that by querying the columns that have a 'HREF' in the text.
    Can I get the exact HREF values using just sql query? There can be more than one links on a page.
    Also, If I just want to copy the whole column and paste it on excel, how can I do that? If I copy the data below and paste, it does not get copied in one cell.. it spreads across multiple cells, so the report does not make any sense.

  • Printing HTML with Java Printing Service(JDK1.4 beta)

    Hi there!
    I'm currently checking out the new Java Printing Service (JPS) in the new JDK1.4 beta. This looks like a very promising printing API, with amongst others printer discovery and support for MIME types - but I have some problems with printing HTML displayed in a JEditorPane.
    I'm developing an application that should let the user edit a (HTML)document displayed in a JEditorPane and the print this document to a printer. I have understood that this should be peace-of-cake using the JPS which has pre-defined HTML DocFlavor amongst others, in fact here is what Eric Armstrong says on Javaworld (http://www.javaworld.com/javaone01/j1-01-coolapis.html):
    "With JPS, data formats are specified using MIME types, for example: image/jpeg, text/plain, and text/html. Even better, the API includes a formatting engine that understands HTML, and an engine that, given a document that implements the Printable or Pageable interface, generates PostScript. The HTML formatting engine looks particularly valuable given the prevalence of XML data storage. You only need to set up an XSLT (eXtensible Stylesheet Language Transformation) stylesheet, use it to convert the XML data to HTML, and send the result to the printer."
    After one week of reasearch I have not been able to do what Armstrong describes; print a String that contains text of MIME type text/html.
    I have checked the supported MIMI types of the Print Service returned by PrintServiceLookup.lookupDefaultPrintService(). This is the result:
    DocFlavor flavor = DocFlavor.INPUT_STREAM.GIF;
    PrintRequestAttributeSet aset = new HashPrintRequestAttributeSet();
    aset.add(MediaSizeName.ISO_A4);
    aset.add(new Copies(2));
    PrintService[] service = PrintServiceLookup.lookupPrintServices(flavor,aset);
    if (service.length > 0) {
    System.out.println("Selected printer " + service[0].getName());
    DocFlavor[] flavors = service[0].getSupportedDocFlavors();
    for (int i = 0;i<flavors.length;i++) {
    System.out.println("Flavor "+i+": "+flavors.toString());
    Selected printer \\MUNIN-SERVER\HP LaserJet 2100 Series PCL 6
    Flavor 0: image/gif; class="[B"
    Flavor 1: image/gif; class="java.io.InputStream"
    Flavor 2: image/gif; class="java.net.URL"
    Flavor 3: image/jpeg; class="[B"
    Flavor 4: image/jpeg; class="java.io.InputStream"
    Flavor 5: image/jpeg; class="java.net.URL"
    Flavor 6: image/png; class="[B"
    Flavor 7: image/png; class="java.io.InputStream"
    Flavor 8: image/png; class="java.net.URL"
    Flavor 9: application/x-java-jvm-local-objectref; class="java.awt.print.Pageable"
    Flavor 10: application/x-java-jvm-local-objectref; class="java.awt.print.Printable"
    As you can see there is no support for text/html here.
    If anyone has a clue to what I'm missing here or any other (elegant, simple) way to print the contents of a JEditorPane, please speak up!

    Since you have 'printable' as one of your flavors, try this using a JTextPane (assuming you can dump your HTML into a JTextPane, which shouldn't be a big problem)...
    1. Have your JTextPane implement Printable
    ie. something like this:
    public class FormattedDocument extends JTextPane implements Printable 2. Read your HTML into the associated doc in the text pane.
    3. Implement the printable interface, since you have it as one of your available flavors (I'd imagine everybody has printable in their available flavors). Something like this:
    public int print(Graphics g, PageFormat pf, int pageIndex) {
            Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) g;
            g2.translate((int)pf.getImageableX(), (int)pf.getImageableY());
            g2.setClip(0, 0, (int)pf.getImageableWidth(), (int)pf.getImageableHeight());
            if (pageIndex == 0)
                setupPrintView(pf);
            if (!pv.paintPage(g2, pageIndex))
                return NO_SUCH_PAGE;
            return PAGE_EXISTS;
        }Here's my setupPrintView function, which is executed once on page 0 (which still needs some polishing in case I want to start from page 5). It sets up a 'print view' class based on the root view of the document. PrintView class follows...
    public void setupPrintView(PageFormat pf) {
    View root = this.getUI().getRootView(this);
            pv = new PrintView(this.getStyledDocument().getDefaultRootElement(), root,
                               (int)pf.getImageableWidth(), (int)pf.getImageableHeight());Note of obvious: 'pv' is of type PrintView.
    Here's my PrintView class that paints your text pane line by line, a page at a time, until there is no more.
    class PrintView extends BoxView
        public PrintView(Element elem, View root, int w, int h) {
            super(elem, Y_AXIS);
            setParent(root);
            setSize(w, h);
            layout(w, h);
        public boolean paintPage(Graphics2D g2, int pageIndex) {
            int viewIndex = getTopOfViewIndex(pageIndex);
            if (viewIndex == -1) return false;
            int maxY = getHeight();
            Rectangle rc = new Rectangle();
            int fillCounter = 0;
            int Ytotal = 0;
            for (int k = viewIndex; k < getViewCount(); k++) {
                rc.x = 0;
                rc.y = Ytotal;
                rc.width = getSpan(X_AXIS, k);
                rc.height = getSpan(Y_AXIS, k);
                if (Ytotal + getSpan(Y_AXIS, k) > maxY) break;

  • Printing iGrid data

    hi
      i am facing the problem of printing iGrid value.
    if the Grid has no scroll bar than i can easily print the value.
    But Grid has scroll bar i can't print entire data.
    Is there any way to solve this problem.

    Hi John,
    Please go through help documentation for understanding What IRPT is and how it functions...!
    On the irpt page you can declare an xMII servlet like this sort.
    <SERVLET NAME="Illuminator">
    <PARAM NAME="QueryTemplate" VALUE="<QueryName>">
    <PARAM NAME="Content-Type" VALUE="text/xml">
    <PARAM NAME="Stylesheet" VALUE="http://localhost/Illuminator/StyleSheets/Samples/DataWithPageBreaks.xsl">
    <PARAM NAME="Param.1" VALUE="">
    <PARAM NAME="Param.2" VALUE="">
    </SERVLET>
    You can even change the Stylesheet by customizing the xsl located on xMII Server and giving its path above.
    The parameters , are parameters(Param.1,Param.2)  for query above.
    The best thing in irpt is that the above parameters can be initialized on page load directly by sending them through url.So ur url will include &StartDate=<someval>&EndDate=<someval>

  • Print HTML Report.vi doesn't scale properly.

    LV 8.5.1, Report Generation Toolkit, XP.  Our application uses the Print HTML Report.vi to print an HTML report.
    We found that on some installations the resulting page does not scale properly.  Instead of being one page wide,
    the printout is about 1.5 pages wide (and proportionately longer), leading to our report being truncated.
    Tried different printers, different print drivers, no difference.
    Finally we noticed that the affected computers all had Internet Explorer 6 installed.  Updating to Internet
    Explorer 7 fixed the problem.  Don't know about IE8, I expect that will work as well.
    Hopefully this will help someone else who runs across this problem.  I couldn't find any reference to
    an IE > 6 dependency in the Report Generation Toolkit readme system requirement.
    Matt

    Hi Charlie,
    The layout option is not wired to anything in the Standard, HTML, Excel and Word Report, but it is used in the Quick Print default case.  The Help document for this VI mentions that the layout option is ignored on Standard and HTML Reports but does not mention the Excel or Word Reports.
    This was discovered a little while ago in this discussion forum.  And a report has be filed to R&D by Ben.

  • Print HTML Report Automatically after Each UUT

    Hello
    I saw the document on NI site called "Print HTML Report Automatically after Each UUT". That's exactly what I want to do with XML files. So I put it in my sequence file and it works fine, but when it opens the xml file at the first step, there's a pop-up from IE who say that "Scripts are generally safe, do you want to authorise this script" (This message is also displayed when I open my file in files explorer).
    So, the print is not automatically anymore as I must answer to this pop-up. does anybody has a solution to bypass this pop-up ?
    I tried to use the property silent on the class IWebBrowser2. Inded, the pop-up doesn't appear anymore, but my XML file isn't correctly printed. I supposed the default response of the pop-up (which is no) is applied. So the script isn't executed.
    I also tried to configure IE to not display this pop-up : No result
    Regards
    Laurent

    Hello,
    I think that you need to configure your browser, can you take a look a this article:

  • Adding Data in the grid

    One thing I am finding a little awkward; Adding data in the grid. It would be nice to be able to use tab to get to the next cell. At present it just highlights the cell and typing doesn't do anything until the cell is clicked. Equally hitting return I would expect it to give me a new blank row. I would like to be able to add a couple of rows of data without resorting to using the mouse at each turn.
    Very good initial impressions though.

    Yes we should do this as it's what everyone will expect from Excel.

  • How to print text/data in flex 3 using printer???Plz help...

       Hi,
              plz tell me the way to print text/data using printer in flex.  I tried the FlexPrintJob class. but it takes object of a container to be printed & prints the visible content of that container(along with scrollbars), bt i want to print all contents of the container(including invisible).
          I have tried to print bitmap image through FlexPrintJob but it takes lot of time for spooling... So plz help me out in printing(fast with all content) in flash
    I am using flex 3 (flex Builder 3 IDE).
      Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi Sagar,
    Don't worry You can use the below work around to print all the contents of the Container including the invisible contents under scrolll with out scroll bar..
    So what the idea here is we are seeting the container height to full size with out scrolls before sending the container object to printer and as soon as you print the object you are restoring it to the original height with scrolls...so that you can print the full contents without scrolls...
    You may have doubt that by chnaging and restoring the size the user may see momentary resize of the container but it is not so as it is a fraction of a second and user cannot notice this change... Give it a try ..I had already run into this problem recently and I have found a work around for this which is as below:
    // Here mainContainer is the container or box id the contents of which you want to print
       private function doPrintContainer():void
        var printJob:FlexPrintJob = new FlexPrintJob();
        if(printJob.start() != true) return;
        try
         var mainContainerHeight:int = mainContainer.height;
         //Increasing the height of the desired component to be printed.
         mainContainer.height = mainContainer.measuredMinHeight;
         mainContainer.verticalScrollPolicy = "off";
         //Adding the resized Component to our FlexPrintjob and then sending the print request
         printJob.addObject(this,FlexPrintJobScaleType.MATCH_WIDTH);
         printJob.send();
         //Resizing the component back to normal size
         mainContainer.height = mainContainerHeight;
         mainContainer.verticalScrollPolicy = "auto";
        catch(error:Error)
                     trace("Error : " + error.message);
