Printing multipage output

I just can't believe the Printing support on Flex is so lame.
I need to print a screen which has a lot of information which
obviously doesn't fit in one page only, it needs more than one
page. I am reading the Flex Developer's Guide and it turns out that
Flex only supports it if you use PrintDataGrid controls, which have
nextPage() and validNextPage to handle multipage, and the screen i
need to print DOESN'T HAVE a PrintDataGrid control so how am I
supposed to print a screen in multiple pages if the framework
doesn't provide support for other components?
So does anyone know how to print multiple pages in a decent
way using Flex? or will I have to wait (again) for the new release
to be ready?
By the way, i know that every displayObject that i add to the
printJob will be printed in a different page, but this also is
useless because i only need to print one component in multiple
pages.

Make a print component sized to the width of print media you
are outputing from your printer then make it as long as the longest
data set that would be printed. Set your scaleType to none. set the
visibilty property accordingly and trigger this component to print
with your button or whatever handler you are using and that should
take care of it. it's a rough way of doing it, but it has worked
well for me on my projects.

  • Any means to print the output from an abap report immediately

    Hi,
    I would like to know if there are any means to print the output of an abap program immediately. Our user wants to execute the program online and once the result list is displayed on screen, user wants the same list to be printed simultaneously without the need to press the 'Print' button.
    Thanks in advance for your help and advises.

    Hi
      We can print the list while displaying using NEW-PAGE PRINT ON.
      below is the syntax for this.
         NEW-PAGE PRINT ON [NEW-SECTION]
                    [<params> | PARAMETERS <pripar>]
                    [ARCHIVE PARAMETERS <arcpar>]

    Hello
    I know that Pages is using its own algorithm to resize pages when it put several of them on a single sheet.
    This is why I use this tip.
    I draw a rectangle whose size is supposed to be the final one.
    I give it a white background and a black border whose thickness is set to one point.
    For the tests I just insert three page breaks so that the document is a four pages one.
    I print it as is.
    Doing that, I may measure the printed rectangle.
    Of course, at first attempt it doesn't match the required size.
    It's easy to compute the required adjustments.
    When the correct factor is reached, it is easy to build the complete document so that it prints the correct size.
    Doing that I never got odd results but maybe it's because I am a lucky guy.
    Of course, disagreeing with one advice doesn't mean that I don't respect it.
    I respect your opinion, _on other matters too_

  • How to print an output stream on console.

    Hi,
    I am new to JAVA. I am trying to execute a command in runtime and I want to print the output on console and also redirect the output to a file.
    Could anyone please help me?
    This is what I wrote :
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    Process proc = rt.exec("cmd /c ipconfig");I am getting an output stream by : proc.getOutputStream(). I dont know how to print it on console and also how to redirect it to a file.
    Could anyone please help me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Basav

    You can do it this way :-
         public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception {
              ProcessBuilder builder = new ProcessBuilder("ipconfig", "/all");
              Process process = builder.start();
              BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(process.getInputStream()));
              FileWriter writer = new FileWriter(new File("C:/ipconfig.txt"));
              String str;
              while ((str = reader.readLine()) != null) {
                   System.out.println(str);
                   writer.write(str + System.getProperty("line.separator"));
              writer.close();
              reader.close();
         }Let me know if it works for you.

  • How make "Scanner" not printing the output in a new line?

    Hi!
    I'm Jordi from Barcelona and I'm new on Java and on this Forum. I have a question to you. I'm developing a testing application that uses the "Scanner".
    Before using it, the app asks a question to the user:
    String strInput;
    Scanner sc = new Scanner(System.in);
    System.out.print("* Please, write your name: ");
    strInput = sc.next();Running this, the app asks me for the options and after pressing "Enter" prints the input string in a new line like this:
    * Please, write your name:
    Jordi
    And I would to get the next:
    * Please, write your name: Jordi
    Does anybody know how to make the "Scanner" print the output in the same line as the question?
    Thanks for your help!
    Jordi

    Running the code,
    import java.util.Scanner;
    public class Test {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            Scanner sc = new Scanner(System.in);
            System.out.print("* Please, write your name: ");
            System.out.println("* Hi, "+sc.next());
    }results in the following output:
    * Please, write your name: Bart
    * Hi, BartWhere the first "Bart" is the input I gave.
    If this is not the case, then it has something to do with your IDE or perhaps you didn't recompile and it previously was
    System.out.println("* Please, write your name: "); // println instead of printbut it's all guesses.
    Good luck.

  • Unable to print dbms.output

    I am trying to print the output for the below sql block when it says c1_list is not a cursor. Could anyone tell me what I could be missing.
          Declare
          Cursor c1 is
          select store_id ,geometry from TMCS.TMCS_All_Stores_TA  where CLIENT_ID= 1 and rownum <1;
          Type C1_TAB_TYPE is table of c1%ROWTYPE;
          c1_list c1_TAB_TYPE;
            --   DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('2012 Population--> '||c1_list(1).store_id);
          Begin
                    For r1 in c1
                       Loop
                       select  store_id ,geometry
                        BULK COLLECT INTO c1_list from
                          select
                          store_id, store_number ,geometry
                          from TMCS.TMCS_ALL_STORES_TA
                          where client_id=1
                          and   SDO_RELATE(Geometry, r1.geometry,'mask=anyinteract') = 'TRUE'
                          and store_id != r1.store_id
                             For r1 in c1_list
                             Loop
                             DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('2012 Population--> '||r1.store_id);
                              End Loop;
                    End Loop;
          End;

    Hi Nathan,
    c1_list is not a cursor (at line 26). It's a collection (table of).
    If you want to iterate through the collection here is what you could do (replaces lines 26 to 29) :
    FOR i IN c1_list.FIRST .. c1_list..LAST LOOP
         dbms_output.put_line ('TEXT ' || c1_list(i).store_id);
    END LOOP;
    Hope this helps.

  • Images Blurry on Printed Documentation Output

    Hello everyone,
    With my current project, consisting of several linked Word documents, when I generate a printed documentation output the images (pdf or word) within the document are extremely blurry.

  • Need to print same outputs at different printers

    Is there any way we could have the output directed to a different printer. A sales order confirmation output needs to print at printer ABC for user Sam, and printer xyz for user Jude. What configuration change would allow printing of outputs at user specific printer.
    Any suggestions

    if it is printing immediately , yes it is possible. In the user profile( T Code SU01) have default printer assigned , which ever you want to print for specific user and click on output immediately. when  the order is saved then it will print to the printer maintained in the user profile.
    If batch program , then itwill be difficult

  • Choose Printer for Output - Condition records

    Hi all,
    We are maintaining condition records at inventory management, shipping,pick list & pack list.
    at the time of print,can be able to choose the printer.  Is that feasible?  Can a condition record prompt the user to choose a printer for the output?
    Can anyone help me out..

    Hi,
    When you maintain your condition master records, (VV11, VV21, VV31) you can maintain which printer you want to print via the button option "Communication"
    Field - Output Device"
    Under that field you can give exactly which printer you want to print this output.
    Else what you can do is, Set this field as LOCL, which means the local printer of the user who is printing these outputs.
    Then in the local machine set the required printer as default printer. (This is a Windows setting). Then when he/she try to print an output, SAP goes to the LOCAL printer and from there it find the default printer of the user machine.
    You can use one of above!
    Hope this helps!
    Best regards,
    Rahal

  • Printing multipage Word documents

    I am trying to automate printing multipage Word documents.  If more than 1 page, I wish to automate the duplex function.  I can't seem to get a script that works.  If anyone has one and wishes to share or could direct me, I will be grateful.  Thanks.

    The short answer is that the Java Print Service that comes with J2SE 1.4 does not contain support for MS-Word documents. I would be surprised if Sun ever offered support for anything from Microsoft. There is support for RTF some support in the J2SE for RTF (take a look at JEditorPane), which is a Microsoft standard, but that's about it. You might want to take a look at the POI project at http://jakarta.apache.org/poi/index.html There is support for working with a few Microsoft Office file formats there.
