Problem Calling a Client Proxy from ABAP which is based on an extension
I'm trying to create an Asset in Salesforce from SAP using ABAP.
I have exported the enterprise WSDL from Salesforce, generated a client proxy and have coded the login call and passed the session id to the create call.
The problem I am having is the create method references sobject however asset is an extension of this.
<complexType name="Asset">
<complexContent>
<extension base="ens:sObject">
<sequence>
<element name="Account" nillable="true" minOccurs="0" type="ens:Account"/>
<element name="AccountId" nillable="true" minOccurs="0" type="tns:ID"/>
<-- many more fields here -->
</sequence>
</extension>
</complexContent>
</complexType>
I need to pass something like this (tested and working using SOAPUI)
<urn:sObjects xsi:type="urn:Asset"
xmlns:ns3="urn:sobject.enterprise.soap.sforce.com">
<urn:AccountId>001A000000HoyKZ</urn:AccountId>
<urn:Name>JWSOAPTEST Asset3</urn:Name>
<-- many more fields here -->
</urn:sObjects>
I tried modifying the WSDL so sobject referrs to Asset
<!-- Create Message Types -->
<element name="create">
<complexType>
<sequence>
<!-- element name="sObjects" type="ens:sObject" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" -->
<element name="sObjects" type="ens:Asset" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
</sequence>
</complexType>
</element>
<element name="createResponse">
<complexType>
<sequence>
<element name="result" type="tns:SaveResult" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
</sequence>
</complexType>
</element>
However other types it referred to weren't populated.
The other approache may be to manually populate the xml similar to what I had to do in the header (this link gives a good overview on this Consume web service in ABAP proxy with SOAP header )
Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated.
Ideally some sample code if someone has done this or a recommendation on how to modify the WSDL.

John

Calling a proxy from ABAP Report
Hi All,
Can any one gimme some idea about calling a XI proxy from ABAP Report.
I need to gather data in my internal table and after that i need to trigger a proxy which is going to do a outbound processing.
Thanks in advance.
Tnx,
Joe.Hi Meetjoe,
We have to design the required interface in PI ,that is used to hold the report data when tigerred a proxy and generate the proxy based on the interface if the Proxy is based on the Outbound side its called client proxy or if the proxy is genereated on Inbound interface we call it server proxy.
need to gather data in my internal table and after that i need to trigger a proxy which is going to do a outbound processing.
In your case its gonna be the client proxy refer the follwing links for your better understanding

I have 2 problems in creating abap client proxies using wsdl
1.when i try to create client proxy by giving RPC style wsdl(generated by SAP itself for a RFC) the system throws an error and not allowing to create the proxy
2.The client proxy which i have created for a wsdl(either SAP created document type/any wsdl from commercial websites) gives an error "No receiver could be found"
could somebody please clarify and help me to solve the problem.
Thanks in advance.
Vasanth.Hi Vasanth,
There are many threads and blogs on this topic.
Choose the search Forum on the Forum page and select "All categories" in the Category field and enter your topic "ABAP client proxy from WSDL" in the search field.

[OSB] Calling a secured proxy from another secured proxy
Hi,
I would like to call a secured proxy from another secured proxy. However, the call fails.
I'm making a call from a Java stand alone Web Service client. The client uses policy "oracle/wss11_message_protection_client_policy".
The call is made to a proxy secured with a "oracle/wss11_x509_token_with_message_protection_service_policy". The secured proxy routes to a non secured proxy, which does not process WSS Security Header. The non-secured proxy then routes to a non-secured business service. The call is a success.
Then I add a policy to the second proxy, say "oracle/log_policy". Also I set the value of "Process WS-Security Header" to yes. The call fails.
I'm getting
java.lang.NullPointerException
at oracle.wsm.agent.handler.WSMEngineInvoker.createWsmMessageContextFromInvokerContext(WSMEngineInvoker.java:733)
in the osb logs.
I have tried adding an empty WSS Security Header in the Soa headers before calling the second proxy. It didn't change anything.
Do you have any ideas?
I have also came up with a super simplified sitution when this error comes up. This happens when I'm calling a pass through proxy (no policy, process WSS security header set to no). Then when this proxy calls a secured proxy with "oracle/log_policy", the call results in this error. Why??
Here is the OSB output when the problem occurs:

Calling an existing webservice from ABAP ?
I am trying to call an existing webservice from abap and cannot seem to get it right.
We are on 640.
What are the steps I need to follow ?
The address of the test wsdl is http://obcbox:50000/EMWSApp/DCCGen?wsdl
and http://obcbox:50000/wsnavigator/jsps/explorer.jsp?localWS=RU1XU0FwcC9zYXAuY29tJTJGRU1XU0FwcEVhci9FTVdTYXBwLmphcg%3D%3D
I need to be able to send data to the dccGenerator so it can do its work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Steve.The following code will call the web service and fill the data into internal table which was received from the Web service. This code will send & Receive the data from ABAP to Webservice.
Change the Header detail as per your Webservice.

Problems creating a client proxy for a WS
I've tried creating a client proxy from a wsdl but I've had no luck getting it to work.
First of all I created the client proxy in se80 with instructions from a teched lecture. The proxy seems to be generated as intended. When I create the default logical port for the proxy in lpconfig, it doesn't get any URL at all by default in the Call Parameters tab. Atleast in the teched demo the logical port got the default URL straight away.
Therefore I opened the wsdl file with notepad and put the address that was specified in the soap:address element as the location attribute. After saving and activating both the logical port and the client proxy I tried testing the proxy. All the methods give the same following error message:
Sap Fault Code 1:
Found 0 operation definitions using keys...
The WS works fine from the WS Navigator test page though. If I change the logical port URL I get an "Unsupported xstream found" error message. Thus I assume the URL that I took from the wsdl should be correct. Can I assume the wsdl is somehow broken? As I look closer at the wsdl, it seems to consist of several wsdl's that are imported to the main wsdl.Hi Evan,
I don't think the wsdl is broken. I assume your webservice is deployed on WAS. Typically the SAP wsdl consist of 3 files, main wsdl file and 2 other files for binding and porttypes.
When all three files are appropriately available then only the proxy gets generated.
Since in your case the proxy is generated and you could activate it, means there is no problem in the wsdl.
Are there any further details in your error?
Does your service methods require any input and you are providing the input appropriately?

Vandana. -
Call a Java Function From Abap
Hi, I need to call a java function from ABAP, I have a WAS 640 to deploy the module.
I have found this tutorial...
[ABAP calls Java via RFC|/people/thorsten.franz3/blog/2008/11/21/abap-calls-java-via-rfc-1-introduction]
The problem is that it uses a newer version of WAS and it implements EJB 3.0 wich only works on Java 5, but my WAS has java 1.4.2.
Anyone knows how to adapt this Blog to a WAS 640 version ?
Or Perhaps there is another way of doing this, maybe publishing my function as a web service.
Regards.
Mariano.Why don't you expose your Java functionality as a Web Service and consume it in ABAP program. That should be much easier and the web service can be used in other places as well.
Best regards,

Generate Client Proxy from a RPC-Style encoded WSDL
Hi Experts,
I was just trying to consume a RPC-Style encoded WSDL,
but the creation of the client proxy failed with the following error message:
Exception occurred in library handler
Incorrect value: Unknown Namespace http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/
Does anyone know, if it's possible to consume a RPC-Style encoded Web Service?
Thanks in advance!Hi Sandeep,
Could you try invoking clientgen [1] directly to see if this properly
consumes your WSDL?
Thanks,
Bruce

I'll appreciate any thoughts on this.

Problems calling context-sensitive AIRHelp from Adobe Flex App
Hi everyone...
I´m having problems calling context-sesitive AIRHelp from Flex.
I can launch the help from flex using the following code (flex), but allways starts on the default topic.
private function invocarAirHelp(tema:String):void {
var appID:String = "pc1";
var pubID:String = "8C47FDE4638CAF7F210634E52A5F8318D893A57C.1";
var mgr:ProductManager = new ProductManager("airappinstaller");
mgr.launch("-launch " + appID + " " + pubID);
the launch method can recive parameters after the publisherID, but i dont know the parameters that i should give to the method to start the AIRHelp on an specific topic.
I tryed using the parameters as the call was on the command line, ex:
mgr.launch("-launch " + appID + " " + pubID + " -csh mapnumber 12");
but i can get any results... with those parameters the help application doesn´t even start
Anyone have an idea to make this works?
Thanks in advance, SabinHi Sabin,
The only supported way to launch AIR applications from the browser is the air "browser API": http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=distributing_apps_3.html#1035834
The browser API uses ProductManager internally and exposes higher-level browser API so that we change the implementation if necessary someday. The browser API will stay the same, even if the interactions through ProductManager (or something else) change.
The browser API (air.swf) has other features that make it the preferred way to launch apps. For instance, it provides accurate information about which platforms support AIR, and can therefore manage install of new apps and of the runtime itself.
Also, if the application is not installed then Browser API will return Error to the flex application, but that does not happen in case of ProductManager.
That said, you can probably use "--" to separate arguments intended for airappinstaller from arguments that should be passed through to the app itself.
mgr.launch("-launch " + appID + " " + pubID + " -- -csh mapnumber 12");

IP - Is it possible to call exit planning function from ABAP Report..
Hi All,
Greetings.
Is it possible to call exit planning function from ABAP Report (t-code SE38) ? Or I mean is not limited only to be called from ABAP Report, perhaps from BSP / Web-Dynpro / Function Module.
If somebody here has been doing it before, I'm keen to ask to kindly share it. Particularly how to call and transfer data to that exit function.
Or if somebody has done in BPS, appreciate if it can be shared too .
Thanks a lot and have a good day,
Best regards,
Daniel N.Hi.
You can achive this as suggested by Mattias in your previous post.
Lets say you have next data structure:
CostCenter | Amount | PercentForDistibution |
Create input ready query in this format. Restrict cost center by variable type range.
Create WAD with analysis item.
When you run web page you enter range of cost centers (lets say you will enter 101004 to 101010).
I assume you have data only for 101004 in your cube (lets say 1000).
You will see only one record in your webpage.
CostCenter | Amount | PercentForDistibution |
101004 | 1000 | NOTHING
When you create WAD in analysis item properties set "NUMBER_OF_NEW_LINES" to lets say 1 (so in WAD you will see always one blank line for entering new data).
Just add 6 new records:
CostCenter | Amount | PercentForDistibution |
101005 | NOTHING| 10
101006 | NOTHING| 30
101007 | NOTHING| 20
101008 | NOTHING| 25
101009 | NOTHING| 5
101010 | NOTHING| 10
Then run planning FOX function like this:
FOREACH Z_COST_CENTER.
IF {Amount, Z_COST_CENTER} <> 0
Z_AMNT_TO_DISTRIBUTE = {Amount, Z_COST_CENTER}.
ENDIF.
ENDFOR.
FOREACH Z_COST_CENTER.
IF {PercentForDistibution Z_COST_CENTER} <> 0.
{Amount, Z_COST_CENTER} = Z_AMNT_TO_DISTRIBUTE * {PercentForDistibution Z_COST_CENTER}.
ENDIF.
ENDFOR.
It is not perfect FOX, but as an idead, it should work.

Good day experts,
We have a requirement to add privileges to users in IDM via a call from a SAP GRC system
Does anyone have example code of such a call in an ABAP function module?
Thanking you in advance,
Johan KriekMartin,
Thanks for your reply.
I tried the Web Service way of doing it, seems to be working alright but again it comes with all the security issues and all around the Web Service.
I am exploring the use of JCO RFC Service provider, to call a JAVA program from ABAP. Hopefully that should work.
Thanks again.

Call of BW queries from ABAP code
Has anybody information about how is it possible to call a BW query from ABAP code with parametrization (specifying characteristics) ? In our development project it's a crucial part, beacuse we have to provide interim function modules to carry out some conversion routine on BW provided data, before we put it on the screen embedded in a Visual composer Iview.
Have a look at this:
Calling BW queries programatically (also posted on BW forum)
Hope it helps.

For the past three days, Firefox opens as if for the first time - forgetting all the Options setting I save each time. This is a waste of my time and money. It operated for years correctly.
