Problem creating schema/tables on sybase

Running the schematool or using the SynchronizeSchema feature, I get the
following exception on sybase:
com.sybase.jdbc.SybSQLException: The 'CREATE TABLE' command is not allowed
within a multi-statement transaction in the 'MEDIA' database.
The same application deploys fine using SQL-server or Oracle.
I'm using kodo 2.4.0.
Any ideas?
Detailed exception included in attachment.
Regards
Jesper

This is a bug in our 2.4.0 release. It has been resolved internally, and
a fix will be available in 2.4.1.
In the mean time, use the -outfile option to schematool to output a DDL,
and manually run this DDL against your schema.

The same application deploys fine using SQL-server or Oracle.

Any ideas?

  • Problem creating Allocation Table with Reference to a PO

    Dear Folks,
I am having problems creating an allocation table with reference to a PO in T-code WA01.
I read the SAP help that some prerequisites need to exist:
==> You can only reference order items flagged as being relevant to a stock split (the Allocation table relevant indicator in the additional item data).
Can anyone advice me where to find this stock split indicator?
Also, can anyone advice me how to reuse an allocation table? For example, I had previously created an allocation table with many articles and various allocation rules. I already generated follow on documents for this table.
Say after 2 weeks, I have the similar requirements that I can make use of the same table, only with minor adjustments to the quantity. How do I create a new allocation table using the existing allocation table data?
    Thanks and Regards
    Junwen

    Any idea please?
    thanks

  • Problem creating a table with a subquery and a dblink

    Hello!!
I have a little problem. When I create a table with a subquery and a dblink, for example:
CREATE TABLE EXAMPLE2 AS SELECT * FROM EXAMPLE1@DBLINK
the table definition is changed. Fields with a type of CHAR or VARCHAR2 are created with a size three times bigger than the original table in the remote database. Field of type DATE and NUMBER are not changed. For example if the original table, in the database 1, has a field of type CHAR(1) it is create in the local database with a type of CHAR(3), and a VARCHAR2(5) field is created with VARCHAR2(15).
    Database 1 has a WE8DEC character set.
    Database 2 has a AL32UTF8 character set.
Could it be related to the difference in character sets?
What can I do to make Oracle use the same table definition when creating a table in this way?
    Thanks!!

That is related to character sets, and probably necessary if you want all the data in the remote table to be able to fit in the new table.
When you declare a column VARCHAR2(5), by default, you're allocating 5 bytes of storage. In a single-byte character set, which I believe WE8DEC is, that also happens to equate to 5 characters. In a multi-byte character set like AL32UTF8, though, 1 character may require up to 3 bytes of storage, so you'd need to allocate 15 bytes to store that data. That's what's going on here.
You could still store all the data if you create the table locally by explicitly requesting 5 characters of storage by declaring the column VARCHAR2(5 CHAR). You could also set the NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS parameter to CHAR rather than BYTE before creating the table, but I believe that both of these will only apply when you're explicitly defining columns as part of your CREATE TABLE. I don't believe either will apply to CTAS statements.

    Hi ,
Can you please cross check these steps carefully.
    1. After importing the WSDL using external definition, did you checked msges Tab for for the included msg to see what msges you have added.
and be careful that the namespaces of the messages are part of the WSDL description and can differ from the namespace of the external definition object.
2.Did you created message Interface corresponding to the message types from the external definition? it is needed to route the message to webService. Here select message types of the external definition object. Assign input and output messages.
    3. Creating a SOAP Receiver Channel
To call the Web service, you create a communication channel with type SOAP and
direction receiver in the Integration Directory. The obligatory parameters in the
configuration are Target URL and SOAP action. You get the values you have to enter
    here from the WSDL file.
    Creating a SOAP Sender Channel
When you create a SOAP sender channel you have to define the namespace and the
name of a message interface. Since no input help is provided, you copy and paste the
    values from your Integration Repository.
Select the Quality of Service according to your interface type. If you are using a
synchronous interface, select Best Effort. Otherwise, select Exactly Once or EOIO.
Hope this will help you to figure out.

  • Problem creating multiple tables in one story

    Hello,
I have a script that imports text from a .txt file and then makes a table out of it. That works fine. However, at a later time I will want to import some more text from a different .txt file and also make that into a table. And I’ll want the ability to do that a number of times.
All of the tables are in the same story.
The first table is created at the same time the ID document is created. When I run the script again to add a second table the script detects that the document exists and presumes there already is a table. The script then goes to a function that creates a second table. All this works fine as well.
However, I cannot then add any more tables without subsequent tables being added into the second table, which is quite messy.
Below is a boiled down script that just concentrates on the problem. I have written it so that it will add a second and third table to the first. What I need to do is to collapse the functions secondTable() and thirdTable() into one function. If you comment out the thirdTable() and run the script with the secondTable() function twice you will see the problem I have.
To make this work, just open up a new ID document, one page, with one text frame.
    Thanks for any help,
    Tom

  • How to create a Table of Contents using Pages 09?

    Hi guys,
I have little problems creating a Table of Contents in Pages, though it seems quite simple. I'm working with the template 'Term Paper' and I use paragraph styles (Title, Heading I, II, etc.). I have some very long documents (about 80 pages long) so I wanted to create a TOC (using sections) but it says:
The table of contents is empty because none of the paragraph styles selected in the Document Inspector are used in the document.
When I compare the paragraph styles I do use and the paragraph styles in the Document Inspector, they match. So I'm a bit upset about this because I really need to use this great feature!
    Thanks for you answers guys!

I would say: Try and Error. Create a copy of your document and unmark in the copied document in the document inspector all boxes for the TOC. Then mark them again. Maybe you should also delete the paragraph styles and mark them again. If that doesn't work, try to copy the complete text of your document to a new created one. Maybe that works.
    Good luck!
P.S.: If that doesn't work look here. Maybe this helps.

  • Problem in HSQLDB schema, while creating SystemUserAttr table

    Hi All,
After a long struggle i somehow managed to come up to post installation step. After the installer successfully pinged my DB connection and HelloCS url it again failed after trying to create the CS system tables inside HSQLDB 2.2.8.
It does create ELEMENTCATALOG, SITECATALAOG and SYSTEMINFO tables, but when it is trying to create SystemUserAttr table it failed due to the below reason
CREATE TABLE SystemUserAttr (id NUMBER(38) NOT NULL, name VARCHAR(32) NOT NULL, value VARCHAR(255) NOT NULL, urlvalue VARCHAR(255) NULL, PRIMARY KEY (id, name, value))
java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: type not found or user lacks privilege: NUMBER
The data type Number is not recognized by HSQLDB, instead Numeric is working. But how do i change it in the installer. The installer failed to locate/execute the corresponding load script for HSQLDB. Is different load script available for different data dialect?
How can i change this load script? Becuase of this, eventhough the application deployed successfully i was not able to login into the URL http://localhost:8080/cas/login using fwadmin/xceladmin
The url http://localhost:8080/cs/HelloCS is working fine and it is giving the embedded status when i am seeing the source file as
    *<!--FTCS|||result=It worked!|||reason=Success|||err=0|||command=Test CS jar install|||params=test=true|||-->*
I am in the last step, if it is working i can start my work.
    regards
    Sri

When you choose the database installation type in the installer, the mapping between the Java types and the DB types defaults from the installer based on the db you choose. The HSQLDB defaults are for 1.1.8, not the 2.x version you're using.
You can override the types. After the first part of the installation, before you get to the pingdb step, you can open up the Property Editor, then open up the futuretense.ini file. Click on the database tab, and change the mapping for cc.numeric to what you want it set to.

type of messages. I am using following command:
    dbms_aqadm.create_queue_table(queue_table => 'sh_varchar_queue_table',
    queue_payload_type => 'VARCHAR2');

    [SCHEMA.]NAME
    Please help!!!
    Thanks!!!

    Thanks Brajesh!!
Actually I have tried with Object Type n that is working fine. But i didn't know that 'VARCHAR2' can't be a payload type. It
is mentioned in Rel 8.1.5 that it can be a 'VARCHAR2' n I started trying that. didn't know that it's not possible in 9i.
    Anyways, thanx so much!!!
N Brajesh, few days back on the discussion forum itself, I mentioned my e-mailed to you. I wanted to get in touch with u

  • Problem CREATE TABLE with PRIMARY KEY Still in Trouble ! Please Help!

    Hi there !
I use the orcle 8i, and i don't know why i can't create table with any primary key EXample:
    SQL> CREATE TABLE O_caisses
    2 (No_caisse NUMBER(3) constraint caisses_pk PRIMARY KEY,
    3 NB_BILLETS NUMBER(5)
    4 )
    5 /
    CREATE TABLE O_caisses
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-18008: cannot find OUTLN schema
***********some Debuger show me this way: *********************
Well there r certain point u got to notice when creating a table with constraints.
    1) U can create table with COLUMN level constraint.
    2) U can create table with TABLE level constraint.
    3) In COLUMN level constraint u can't give a constraint a name
but only mention the type of constraint.
    4) In TABLE level constraint u can give a name to constraint.
Following are the examples of both
    --COLUMN LEVEL
    CREATE TABLE O_caisses
    (No_caisse NUMBER(3) PRIMARY KEY,
    NB_BILLETS NUMBER(5));
    --TABLE LEVEL
    CREATE TABLE O_caisses
    (No_caisse NUMBER(3),
    NB_BILLETS NUMBER(5),
    constraint pk_caisse primary key (No_caisse));
    ********************And this is another one:*****************
    SQL>grant create any outline to username;
BUT the problem is still present, i don't know what to do now !
Please could some body help me !
    Thanks alot!
    Luong.

The clue is in the error message: the OUTLN schema is missing.
This is something Oracle 8i introduced to help manage the CBO (or soemthing equally geeky and internal). For some reason your database no longer has this user. It ought to be created automatically during installation (or upgrade) but catproct may not have completed probably or some over zealous admin type has dropped it.
Solution is to re-install (or re-upgrade) as you cannot create this user on their own. Alas.

  • XDB Schema to create Database Tables

    Hello
if i understood the Oracle Documentation correct, then must it be possible to create corresponding databasetables from a schema. Is it correct ?
If i create a schema oracle creates only object type's from my schema. Can anybody help me with my little problem?
    Thank you very much
    Bastian Fiebig

    Hi,
You can use the xdb annotation xdb:defaultTable="<tablename>" with an element, so that when a schema is registered the
table is created. Doing this on the top level element, will create a table that will only allow XML to be created in it, that complies with the
    registered schema.

  • Problem creating a view in Administrator: 942: table or view does not exist

Hi and thank you for reading,
I am working with the Administration tool and would like to create a view in the physical layer. However I am getting the following error messages when I try to view the Date in the view:
[NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occured.
[nQSError: 43093] An error occured while processing the EXECUTE PHYSICAL satement.
*[nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error code: 942, message: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist at OCI call OCIStmtExecute.*
[nQSError: 17010] SQL statement preparation failed.

[nQSError: 17010] SQL statement preparation failed.
    I proceed as following:
Right click on a physical schema (this schema is already created and works in Answers) -> new Physical Schema ->Table Type: Select -> Select * from Table_A where name='name' (Table_A is in the physical schema) -> OK -> Save -> Deploy -> Update Row count (works) -> View Data -> Error
Any Idea what I am doing wrong. I have started with an easy select statement to test how to create a view in Oracle Administrator.
Thanks a lot for any help
    Evgeny

Do you see Table_A, and in which database schema?
Try to put alias (database user) before table name.
    Select * from user.Table_A where name='name'
    Where user is database user.
If you have Table_A in another user and connection pool is set to different user, then grant select from Table_A owner to connection pool user (make synonym for Table_A):
Example (I'm using connection pool from userB and have tables from userA and userB).
create or replace public synonym xx for userA.xx
    and
grant select on xx to userB
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I create a table in other's schema?

I have two users say 'user1' and 'sanju' along with other users in the database. Both the users are granted a connect role. I have connected as a 'sanju' user. Now I want to create a table in schema 'user1'.
Please note that user 'sanju' should not be allowed to create table in any other user's schema.
I have set the current schema of 'sanju' as 'user1'.
    ALTER SESSION SET CURRENT_SCHEMA=USER1
I know that 'grant create ANY table to sanju' will allow 'sanju' to create table in all the schema. I dont want that. Is there any way to create a table in any other's schema?
    Please answer ASAP

This is not directly possible, but you can use following workaround:
    connect user1/passwd
create or replace procedure testCreateTable as
    begin
    execute immediate 'create table user1.testTable(c char)';
    end test;
    grant execute on testCreateTable to sanju;
    connect sanju/passwd
    execute testCreateTable
Of course, you can make this procedure more generic by specifying the necessary parameter.
Please not that this procedure only works, if user1 was granted the create table privilege directly, and not through a role (e.g. dba), because roles are disabled when executing

Can you show us a cut/paste from the sql*plus of session of yours which should show that you have given the privilege directly to this user and after that the command fails?
