Problem for using oracle xml parser v2 for 8.1.7

My first posting was messed up. This is re-posting the same question.
Problem for using oracle xml parser v2 for 8.1.7
I have a sylesheet with
<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl">.
It works fine if I refer this xsl file in xml file as follows:
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="http://...../GN.xsl"?>.
When I use this xsl in pl/sql package, I got
ORA-20100: Error occurred while processing: XSL-1009: Attribute 'xsl:version' not found in 'xsl:stylesheet'.
After I changed name space definition to
<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0"> in xsl file, I got
ORA-20100: Error occurred while processing: XSL-1019: Expected ']' instead of '$'.
I am using xml parser v2 for 8.1.7
Can anyone explain why it happens? What is the solution?
Yi

Steve,
We are also creating an XML DOM from java and are having trouble getting the tags created as we want. When we use XMLText it creates the tag as <tagName/>value rather than <tagName>value</tagName>. We want separate open and close tags. Any ideas?

  • XML validation using Oracle XML parser v2

    Not sure if this is the right forum for this question as I didn't found any.
    I had a tough time trying to build an XMLSchema (Oracle XML Parser V2) object from the input schema having include/import. Actually I am working on a Java program to validate the input xml with input schema using Oracle XML parser v2 api.
    The issue is that the code doesn't work for schema that has some "include" in it. The code is working fine for the schema without any import/include. Here is the lines of code -
    XSDBuilder builder = new XSDBuilder();
    schema = builder.build(new InputSource(xsdReader));
    I am writing this in JDeveloper. The error is -
    oracle.xml.parser.schema.XSDException: Can not build schema 'http://www.fpml.org/2005/FpML-4-2' located at 'xsd\FpML42\xml\fpml-fx-4-2.xsd'
    I also tried creating the EntityResolver to specify the path of included schema. But that doesn't solves the problem.
    I am not sure whether parser is able to locate the included schema or not.The main schema and included schema are all in same folder. The included schema is perfectly fine and has no errors.
    Please help if you have encountered this issue and resolved it. I will really appreciate any pointers or clue to solve this issue.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply. But it does not seem to be working. Am I missing something
    I put <TrxDate xsi:nil="true"/> but still getting error.
    Here's my xsd:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    elementFormDefault="qualified">

  • Parsing errors with CDATA tags using oracle xml parser v2

    I'm using the oracle.xml.parser.v2 parser to combine a
    generated xml document from a database with a static
    xsl file to produce html. Within the xml document, there
    are fairly large CDATA sections (500 lines) which happen
    to contain javaScript.
    Occasionally, I'm getting xml tags in the final html
    document! It seems that the oracle parser pukes
    on a certain type of data within a CDATA tag, and then
    replaces an angle bracket (<) of a tag with a #60. This
    can cause html tags being viewed in the document. At
    first, I thought the amount of JavaScript within the
    CDATA tag was too large for the parser to handle,
    because when I split it up into 2 or more parts the errors
    went away. But, re-arranging the JavaScript (String in the CDATA tag)
    can make the errors disappear. And, if I
    use the Saxon parser to manually combine the xsl with
    the xml, the output is fine. If anyone knows that this is
    a confirmed bug by Oracle, or any other relevant info on
    this, please let me know.

    Hi,
    Your lucky, i've just finished a project that used the oracle parser extensively.
    I think the problem may stem from your xsl. Although your cdata tags may be well formed, in the xsl you might need to escape the text again, this may mean that the xsl needs to print a further cdata tag around the data. This is because the parser (well the version I was using) strips the cdata tags before the transformation happens.
    This is the probably the cause of the nasty html output.

  • Oracle XML Parser for PL/SQL - troubles with charset

    Hi,
    I'm using Oracle XML Parser for PL/SQL and have some troubles with charset of results xmldom.writeToBuffer and xmldom.writeToCLOB procedures.
    Some tags in my DOM documents contain text values in RUSSIAN (server nls_charset is CL8ISO8859P5). When I write document in varchar2 variable, buffer content is in UTF8 charset ( convert UTF8->CL8ISO8859P5 -OK).
    xmldom.setCharset(doc, 'ISO-8859-5') just after xmldom.newDOMDocument has no effect.
    xmldom.setCharset(doc, 'CL8ISO8859P5') has no effect also.
    Explicit charset direction in third parameter of
    xmldom.writeToBuffer and xmldom.writeToCLOB procedure has no effect.
    When I write document in CLOB, and then read part of CLOB in varchar2 buffer - result contain '?' in place of all russian text characters.
    What's a problem?
    How can I force XML Parser write XML in server charset?
    Oracle XML Parser for PL/SQL v 1.0.2

    I have the same problem. But in my case I am allowed only to use XML Parser for PL/SQL.
    Characterset 'WE8ISO8859P1' is used. And the language is latvian.
    After parsing a XML document and printing its contents, all latvian characters are replaced by "f".
    xmldom.setcharset(doc,'WE8ISO8859P1') has no effect.

  • ORACLE XML PARSER FOR JAVA FOR AIX

    Hi people!
    I'm looking for the Oracle XML Parser for Java 9.0.2.0.0C, my 9iAS is BI Installation 9.0.2.3, where can I get it? In the Downloads Section there is only the version for 10g, and the existing versions for 9i are not for AIX (my OS is AIX 5.2L).
    Thanks.

    Thanks for your help, I navigate through this link and, even it shows a table where appears the release for AIX (9.2.0.6.0), when I get to http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/xml/xdk/software/prod/utilsoft_java.htm
    it shows me only downloads for Sun, Linux and HP-UX, but not for AIX.
    Has the version for AIX being deprecated or something like that?

  • ADM-75024 [oracle.xml.parser] [904 vs. 906]

    Hi!,
    After running in the following exception in a 904 appserv (oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDOMException: Implementation does not support the object requested) we decided to use the 906 parser frrom the xdk. But now we are having a big problem: now there will no application will have been deployed/undeployed/redeployed interupted by an ADM-75024 exception. When restoring the original 904 parser it does work. but this isn't usuable!
    We tried following parameters, but it doesn't work:
    JVM parameters:
    -server -Djava.security.policy=/opt/oracle/oracleas/j2ee/app/config/java2.policy
    -Djava.awt.headless=false -Xms256m -Xmx1024m
    -Dhttp.proxySet=true -Dhttp.proxyHost=proxy -Dhttp.proxyPort=80
    -Dorg.xml.sax.driver=org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser
    -Djavax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory=org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl
    -Djavax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory=org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl
    -Djavax.xml.parsers.TransformerFactory=org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl
    -Djavax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory=org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl
    but these parameters doesnt' have any influence because libraries will be loaded as follows:
    1. system
    2. container
    3. application
    We read many documents --> There exist following BUG numbers: 3565902, 4353119, 3654742, 3136577, 2591746, 3557552
    3565902 is nearest; The effect is always the same but different conditions. The suggestions are different. But one thing can be seen: that exception only occurs within 904 oracle xml parser!! With 3565902 the 906 switch solution is preferred.
    As seen under http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/904/collateral/OC4J-FAQ-904.html (25)
    the switch is no supported. Under http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/1013/howtos/how-to-swapxmlparser/doc/readme.html the switching capabilites will be brougth with 10.1.3. But i can't use 10.1.3...however I need a solution for 904.
    1st: Is there any workaround for the problem mentioned above (oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLDOMException)
    2nd: why the error while deployment/undeployment/redeployment occurs?
    thanks, merci, grazie ..en avance

    ps: i can provide log files if needed.

  • Oracle XML Parser - "comments"  BUG!

    hey fellas
    I have almost wrapped up my project except for one stupid bug
    that am getting. I'm using Oracle XML parser for Java.9.0
    I am adding some comments in the output xml file but it is giving trouble.
    My code:
    ====
    Comment comment =xmldocument.createComment("mary had a lazy lamb");
    xmldocument.appendNode(comment);
    =====
    Now comments are being added in the output xml file. BUT GUESS what -
    Instead of putting the string like -
    <!-- mary had a lazy lamb -->
    It is putting it like -
    <?#comment mary had a lazy lamb comments?>
    This, inadverantly throws an error when I open the file using a browser.
    How to over come this.
    Thanks

    Hey fellas I urgently need a response!!Long-term solution: report it to Oracle as a bug.
    Short-term solutions: don't write comments to your document. Or try a different serializer.

  • Oracle XML Parser validation against XML Sxhema

    Hi,
    I am developing a program in C++ on Unix, that does parsing on an XML document. For parsing I am using "Oracle XML Parser" [using DOM API]. My question is, Can Oracle XML Parser validate xml document against an XML Schema file also? I have read in many tutorials that it can validate against DTD. Please clarify my question as early as possible?
    Regards,
    Raghuram.

    Hi Kulkarni,
    I think you are trying to retrieve the text of the parent element of book. For example if this is the xml element
    <bookdetails>
    <book>Harry Potter</book>
    <author>JK Rowling</author>
    <price>34.55</price>
    </book>
    </bookdetails>
    You must be trying to retrieving the text of bookdetails.
    Check XMLNode.getNodeName() to retrieve the name of the node.
    To get 'Harry Potter' as output you need to traverse till book and then use XMLNode.getText()
    You can check the 'getQuestions()' method in Survey Sample
    to know how to tranverse to any element of an XML using Java.
    The Survey Sample is located at
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/xml/survey/content.html
    Download the sample and unjar it. The location of Analyser.java is
    SurveySample\code\Survey\src\oracle\otnsamples\survey\business\Analyser.java
    Have a look at it.

  • Java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLText cannot be cast to org.w3c.dom.Element

    Hello
    I am getting java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLText cannot be cast to org.w3c.dom.Element error. This code is in java which is present in java embedding.
    The SOA is parsing the xml in java code using oracle.xml.parser.v2 . This wont be a problem if the SOA uses default w3c DOM parser. How do i force SOA to use w3c DOM parser.
    Is there any thing i can do with class loading?
    Kindly help.
    Regards
    Sharat

    Can you paste your java code here ? I assume, you must have tried type-casting.

  • XML parsing problems with Oracle XML parser for PL/SQL

    I am using the Oracle XML parser for PL/SQL to transform XML into HTML usign XSL. The parser gives me sporadic errors trying to parse various XML documents. For the same XML source, the XMLPARSER will parse without errors one day and the next day will give me errors such as "invalid char in text", "Expected ';'.", or even Java null pointer exceptions.
    I have verified that the XML sources are well formed, so I am pretty certain that the problems I am having are bugs in the XMLPARSER.
    Is there going to be a XML parser for PL/SQL version 2 that will fix these bugs? If so, when??? If not, is there anything else I could do to fix these problems?
    Thanks!

    You can use the latest version.

  • Upgrading Oracle XML Parser for Java v9.0.4 with Oracle Applications 11i

    Guys, I applied ATG.PF.H.RUP4. In postinstall steps it is mentioned,Upgrading Oracle XML Parser for Java v9.0.4 with Oracle Applications 11i(doc-271148.1)
    which says after applying patch 4038964 do the following--
    AUTOCONFIG ENABLED APPLICATIONS ENVIRONMENT
    If the Oracle E-Business Suite configuration files are maintained using the AutoConfig infrastructure, proceed with the following:
    1. Run the AutoConfig utility.
    2. Go to [JAVA_TOP].
    3. Run the unzip -l appsborg2.zip | grep 9.0.4 command. If there is a file named as .xdkjava_version_9.0.4.0.0_production, which indicates that XML Parser for Java v9.0.4 is installed correctly as part of appsborg2.zip. Otherwise, run ADAdmin to regenerate the appsborg2.zip file.
    4. Restart the application tier server processes such that the new version of Oracle XML Parser for Java will take effect.
    but actually the patch is already applied- 4038964. How do i verify if i need to do these steps or not.
    The xmlparserv2-904.zip file is already there in wrapper.classpath. of jserv.properties, forms.properties. So i think i dont need to do these steps.

  • ANN: Oracle XML Parser for Java v2.0.2

    The new version of the Oracle XML Parser for Java v2 is
    available for download and has the following features and
    changes:
    1. Conformance to the XSLT/XPATH August WD.
    Note that there are several changes between April99 XSLT draft
    and the August99 XSLT/Xpath draft and these changes have been
    implemented in the XSL Processor. The XSL Processor has been
    modified to accept XPath syntax for expressions and patterns.
    Stylesheets might have to be modified to be conformant to the
    August XSLT/XPath draft before they can be used with this
    release.
    Some of the changes between April draft and the August draft
    are:
    a. Expressions in the stylesheet must match the XPath
    production Expr.
    b. Some of the attribute names and element names in XSL
    namespace have changed.
    c. Some new functions have been added to XPath CORE function
    library.
    Please refer to the August XSLT/XPath draft for more details.
