Problem identified jsf component and problem of checkboxs

hello,
i have 2 questions:
- 1
I have a js function that show/don't show a tab when we chose yes/no on a SelectOneRadio:
function display(fieldRadio,tabtohide)
div = document.getElementById(tabtohide);
if(fieldradio.value=='false')
div.className='hide';
else div.className='';
I call this function in the radio component, like this:
onclick="display(this,'tabid');" and it works very well.
The problem is that i would like to replace 'this' by the id of the component (to call this function at another place).
I'v tried the document.getElementById(JsfTagId); but it doesn't work with jsf tag.
- 2
I use a selectmanycheckbox like this:
<h:selectManyCheckbox value="#{BeanDemandeur.type}" required="false">
<f:selectItem itemValue="Nouvelleinstallation" itemLabel="Nouvelle installation"/>
<f:selectItem itemValue="Misejour" itemLabel="Mise  jour"/>
<f:attribute name="fieldRef" value="Type de demande"/>
</h:selectManyCheckbox>
In the bean, i use the variable type like this:
private String[] type = new String[2];
public String[] getType(){return type;}
public void setType(String[] rr){type[0]=rr[0];type[1]=rr[1];}
And finally, in th faces-config.xml:
<managed-property>
<property-name>type</property-name>
<property-class>java.lang.String[]</property-class>
<value/>
</managed-property>
But an error occured: Can't set managed bean property:'type';
thx u for your help

r u getting any connversion error !
what is the error ru getting when u run the code

  • Rendering Problems of JSF Tomahawk and Richfaces elements

    Hello,
    we developed a J2EE-Application on the Netweaver 7.0 (SP16) Platfarm, that uses JFS, Myfaces Tomahawk and Richfaces.
    It is developed as a "normal" J2EE Webmodule Project and works very well (even in the Portal).
    But one requiremant is, that the Application has to be a Development Component in a Development Track.
    So we ported the application into the Track without much trouble. But then we realized that many UI-Components, especially the Richfaces-Components do not render correctly.
    It seems, that the underlying Java-scrips are not generate properly, so that for example the Richfaces Calendar Component completetly fails. Also the scripts that apply certail style aspects to the UI-Components vanished.
    I have absolutely no idea, what could be the reason for that. There are no errors or exceptions. Just the underlying scripts are not generated or do not work.
    Does anybody have a hint what could be the solution?

    Hello,
    How did you manage to integrate RichFaces into your NWDS ? Do you have by any chance a tutorial that explains the steps to do it ?

  • Probleme with swing component and keyEvt

    hi ,
    I program this JFrame , when it is empty ( without the Jbutton ) the key Event works fine , but when I add the Jbutton the key event doesn't work anymore.
    I try some focus method but it doesn't seem to work , can you tell me what i can do ...
    Thx.
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class test extends JFrame implements KeyListener
        private JButton jb_;
        public test()
            setSize(320,200);
            this.addKeyListener(this);
            this.getContentPane().setLayout(null);
            jb_ = new JButton("button");
            jb_.setBounds(10,10,100,100);
            this.getContentPane().add(jb_);
        public void keyPressed(KeyEvent e) { System.out.println("OK"); }

        public static void main(String args[])
         test t = new test();
            t.setDefaultCloseOperation(EXIT_ON_CLOSE);

    i've solved it with creating a JTextArea and putting the button in there

              System.out.println("OK");
         public void keyReleased(KeyEvent e) {}

              Test t = new Test();
              t.setDefaultCloseOperation(EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
              t.show();

  • How to load a class dynamically (via reflection) in a jsf-component

    Hi all,
    I am writing my own jsf component and I would like to do it generically. Therefore I have an attribute, where the developer can pass a fully qualified classname, which I want to use to instantiate. But I have a Problem with the classloaders, everytime I get a ClassNotFound-Exception during debugging.
    Does anybody know how it is possible, to to get the most parent classloader?
    Currently I am even not able to load a class, which is in the same package like all other compontent-classes.
    Thank you very much in advance
    Thomas

    Within web applications, I believe it is recommended to use Thread.getContextClassLoader(). Keep in mind that web applications require different classloader semantics than regular Java applications. The class loader which gets resources from the WAR is favored over others, even when this violates the normal class loading conventions.

  • Problem in JSF addRemoveList component selection

    Hi,
    We are using JSF creator studio 2.0. In our project we are using addRemoveList component to display available and selected items.
    We are able to display the selected value from available list to Selected list.
    uisng Add and remove buttons of the AddremoveList component.
    But we are facing the problem is, we are unable to get particular selected or highlighted value from the SelectedList .
    However we are able to get all selected items in bakingBean.
    This is very very important for us to move further in our development. I really appreciate for any sort of help.
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

    Hey Andy,
    I did it that way (JSC 2):
    assuming the add remove component's id is arl and that the components' item-property is bound to a datatable (mysql). The value field is of type Long, the display field is of type String.
    Get selected:
    get an array of selected objects directly from the component, and then do what ever you like to with that array.
    Object[] objSel = (Object[]) arl.getSelected();
    int i;
    int l = objSel.length;
    String str;
    for (i = 0; i < l ; i++) {
    str = objSel.toString();
    Set selected:
    Just create an array of objects holding the selected values and pass it to the component. But, attention, you'll need to make sure you're feeding the object array with the correct types of values. In my sample the value is a Long as described above, so I also need to pass in a Long, else the component just does nothing at all.
    Object[] selObj = new Object[] {new Long(5), new Long(8)};
    arl.setSelected(selObj);
    I found this the most easy option to get and set the add remove list selection.
    An other quite easy option is to bind the selected-property of the component to any session-bean property of type object-array and then set this sessionbean-property to the approrpiate values. But here you need also to make sure the datatype is correct.

  • Problem using JSF + ajax4jsf:poll component

    I have the following problem.
    I have JSF page and ajax4jsf:poll component on it for polling the server.
    There are also couple links and buttons on the page,
    At first, when polling is not enabled the links and buttons work fine.
    But after enabling polling and its' work, links and buttons stop working and the page is only reloaded when I click on them. Accoring to the logs action methods, binded to that links and buttons, are not invoked at all. And log shows that page is rerendered using ajax. But not pure JSF which we use in general case.
    Does anybody have any ideas, why this can be? I looked through the internet and I could not find similar problems.
    I will appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

    I have never used it, but did you try the example as given at the related developer guide? Please note the a4j:region and the placement at its own form instead of in another/shared form.

  • Problem with the MenuBar and how can i delete a own component out of the storage

    Hello,
    I opened this thread in the category "Flex Builder 2", but
    under this category my questions fit better.
    I have a problem with the MenuBar and a question to delete a
    component out of storage.
    1. We have implemented the MenuBar, which was filled
    dynamically with XML data.
    Sporadically it will appear following fault, if we "mousover"
    the root layer.
    RangeError: Error #2006: Der angegebene Index liegt
    außerhalb des zulässigen Bereichs.
    at flash.display::DisplayObjectContainer/addChildAt()
    at mx.managers::SystemManager/
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/flex/mx/internal::rawChildren_addChildAt()
    at mx.managers::SystemManager/addChild()
    at mx.managers::PopUpManager$/addPopUp()
    at mx.controls::Menu/show()
    at mx.controls::MenuBar/::showMenu()
    at mx.controls::MenuBar/::mouseOverHandler()
    Here a abrid ged version of our XML to create the MenuBar:
    <Menuebar>
    <menu label="Artikel">
    <menu label="Artikel anlegen" data="new_article" />
    <menu label="Artikel bearbeiten" data="edit_article" />
    <menu label="Verpackung">
    <menu label="Verpackung anlegen" data="new_package" />
    <menu label="Verpackung bearbeiten" data="edit_package"
    />
    </menu>
    <menu label="Materialgruppe">
    <menu label="Materialgruppe anlegen"
    data="new_materialgroup" />
    <menu label="Materialgruppe bearbeiten"
    data="edit_materialgroup" />
    </menu>
    </menu>
    </Menuebar>
    It is a well-formed XML.
    2. Delete a component out of storage
    We have some own components (basically forms), which will be
    created and shown by an construct e.g.
    var myComponent : T_Component = new T_Component ;
    this.addChild(myComponent)
    Some of our forms will be created in an popup. On every call
    of the popup, we lost 5 mb or more, all childs on the windows will
    be removed by formname.removeAllChild();
    What cann we do, that the garbage collector will dispose this
    objects.
    Is there a way to show all objects with references (NOT
    NULL)?
    I have read in the Flex Help, that
    this.removeChild(myComponent) not delete the form and/or object out
    of the storage.
    Rather the object must be destroyed.
    It is sufficient to call delete(myComponent) about remove
    this object out of the storage as the case may be that the
    garbage-collector remove this object at any time?
    Or how can I destroy a component correctly. What happens with
    the widgets on this component e.g. input fields or datagrids?
    Are they also being deleted?
    Thanks for your help.
    Matze

    If you mena the "photo Library" then you cannot delete it.
    This is how iphone handles photos.  There are not two copies.  There a re simply two places from which to access the same photos.  ALL photos synced to iphone can be accessed via Photo Library.  Those same pics can be accessed via their individual folder.

  • Possible problems with Check out and Open Component and delayed publishing

    Hi,
    I've experienced some seemingly wrong behaviors of the checkout and open component and also with the delayed publishing feature, I've listed it down :
    1) The all important one:
    We know we've delayed publishing features for content, if we set the Release Date metadata at a future date, the content will not be released immediately, but do we have a delayed publishing features for a website page. Through manage website the user can add / delete a page(section), may do include or exclude from navigation etc.. but can they set a future date when a particular page can be included in or excluded from navigation? This should be a standard feature for a WCM solution and I hope there is some solution for sure.
    2) Can we set a datefield with a calendar feature as a page custom (section) property?
    3) Again the issue with checkout and open component, only the user with admin privilege seems to be able to change the content, normal contributors cannot, cause every time is tries to check in with the old author name, so the user has to have admin privilege to assign a different doc author's name. No trace also who is making the changes.
    4) Also facing a lot of problems while trying to implement when we use this checkout and open component. As we cannot check who is making the change there is to way to set us a step for self review, also user can only approve or reject but cannot edit the doc before passing it to the next step, if the step user is created using tokens then only checking out of the doc takes it pass the step user, but everything is working perfect with contributor data file. No problem whatsoever. Even if we use manual check out and then check in (i mean without using checkout and open component) this is working fine. But the main problem with non-technical users will be they would not like the content server portal at all and they would always prefer ms word over anything else. They would directly like to double-click on the website page, the word doc will pop up and they would make change and save.
    Issue 1 and 4 are killer issues for us, I need your help to find a solution. I have few more issues that i will post later.

    Hey Shotdawq,
    I was a bit low on bandwidth, so could not visit the forum any sooner.DIS is dynamic integration studio, it works on the webdav protocol.
    you will need to install DIS on the client machines. The POC that i did was integration of SiteStudio with CheckOutAndOpenInNative.
    I am also planning to referenc this functionality from WebSphere, what i have in my mind is to copy the java script from my sitestudio page and paste
    it in the JSP, and then using the CIS or RIDC will execute the serverices. At present i am stuck in some other work, If i get this thing working i will
    update you. In the meanwhile if you have some question for me, feel free to throw them.
    cheers,

  • Very big problem with JSF about FORM and "id=" for HTML form's elements and

    I have discovered a very big problem with JSF about FORM and "id=" for HTML form's elements and java instruction "request.getParameterNames()".
    Suppose you have something like this, to render some datas form a Java Beans :
    <h:dataTable value="#{TablesDb2Bean.myDataDb2ListSelection}" var="current" border="2" width="50%" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="2" style="text-align: center">
    <h:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <h:outputText value="Name"/>
    </f:facet>
    <h:outputText id="nameTableDb2" value="#{current.db2_name_table}"/>
    </h:column>
    </h:dataTable>
    Everything works fine...
    Suppose you want to get the name/value pairs for id="nameTableDb2" and #{current.db2_name_table} to process them in a servlet. Here is the HTML generated :
    <td><span <span class="attribute-name">id=<span class="attribute-value">"j_id_jsp_1715189495_22:0:nameTableDb2">my-table-db2-xxxxx</span></td>
    You think you can use the java instructions :
    Enumeration NamesParam = request.getParameterNames();
    while (NomsParam.hasMoreElements()) {
    String NameParam = (String) NamesParam.nextElement();
    out.println("<h4>"++NameParam+ "+</h4>);
    YOU ARE WRONG : request.getParameterNames() wants the syntax *name="nameTableDb2" but JSF must use id="nameTableDb2" for "<h:outputText"... So, you can't process datas in a FORM generated with JSF in a Servlet ! Perhaps I have made an error, but really, I wonder which ?

    While I certainly appreciate ejb's helpful responses, this thread shows up a difference in perspective between how I read the forum and how others do. Author ejb is correct in advising you to stay inside JSF for form processing if form processing is what you want to do.
    However, I detect another aspect to this post which reminds me of something Marc Andreesen once said when he was trying to get Netscape off the ground: "there's no such thing as bad HTML."
    In this case, I interpret ungar's request as a new feature request. Can I phrase it like this?
    "Wouldn't it be nice if I could render my nice form with JSF but, in certain cases, when I REALLY know what I'm doing" just post out to a separate servlet? I know that in this case I'll be missing out on all the nice validation, conversion, l10n, i18n, ajax, portlet and other features provided by JSF".
    If this is the case, because it really misses the point of JSF, we don't allow it, but we do have an issue filed for it
    https://javaserverfaces-spec-public.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=127
    If you can't wait for it to be fixed, you could decorate the FormRenderer to fix what you want.
    I have an example in my JSF book that shows how to do this decoration. http://bit.ly/edburnsjsf2

  • JSF 2 and Primefaces with  WLS 11gR1(10.3.6) problem

    Hi all,
    I would like to create a web application in OEPE, which uses JSF 2 and Primefaces 3.2 and then deploy & develop onto WLS.
    I added the primefaces jar to WEB-INF/lib.
    See my publishing stacktrace below.
    (I tried using the Shared JSF libraries and including jsf-api and impl in WEB-INF/lib, but neither of these options worked.)
    Do you have any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thanks,

    Hi --
    I just tried using OEPE 11.1.1.8.0 against a WLS 10.3.6.0 install to build and deploy a JSF 2.0 application and it worked successfully.
    The project is here if you want to take a look:
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15657493/oepe-test-jsf2.zip
    The only minor gotcha I found was that I needed to reorder the libraries on the project so that the Shared-Library[jsf] was higher than the WebLogic System Library - this then let me use the JSF 2.0 programming API successfully instead of the 1.2 version that is included in the WLS System Library.
    Here's a couple of screen shots of the facet and project as well as the overall development environment:

    For that zip file error, one thing perhaps is to Check your CLASSPATH setting to see if it has an entry for that FileAdapter.rar. I don't know why it's causing that problem but if it's in the CLASSPATH try removing it and then starting the server.

  • Problems with JSF and included subviews

    Hi everybody,
    I' ve got a problem with JSF and included subviews which makes me going
    crazy. I've got no clue why my web-pages are represent wrongly. The only
    tip I've got is that it must be connected with the kind I do include my JSF-pages.
    When I use <%@file="sub.jsp"%> my pages are are represent right. When I use <jsp:include page="Sub.jsp" /> or <c:import url="Sub.jsp" /> ( mark: the usage of flush="true" or flush="false" doesn't matter )
    my pages are represent wrongly.
    The usage of tags like f:facet or f:verbatim were also included but didn't point to an solution.
    I searched the whole Sun Developer Forum and some other web-sites for any solution for my problem but the given hints and clues didn't help. Now I'm trying to post my problem directly in Sun's Forum in hope to get help.
    My environment is the following:
    JAVA JDK 1.5 Update 4
    Tomcat 5.5.9
    JSLT 1.1
    Sun JSF 1.1
    Win 2K

    Hello Zhong Li,
    many thanks for your post, but it didn't work.
    My problem is that the JSF-Components im my included or imported
    JSP-Pages does not accept any kind of style or styleClass for
    designing. The components take over the informations for colors
    but not for alignment.
    When I take a look at the generated JAVA-Source in $TOMCAT/WORK/WEBAPP for my sub.jsp ( sub.java )
    it seems that the resulting HTML-page would be presented correctly.
    But later when I start the application via Firefox or Mozilla the html-sourcecode is totally wrong.
    In my example I create a simple grid with 2 rows and 2 columns.
    Both columns contains JSF-Outtext-Components and are included with div-tags.
    The generated Sub.java shows that the text would be setted in the div-tags. Unfortunately the html-sourcecode represented by my browser shows that jsf-text is not setted in the tags but in the <h:form> tags. The div-tags are neither rounded by <h:form> nor containing the JSF-OutText-Components.
    Any clue?
    Many thanks Benjamin

  • Regarding JSF Default action problem in IE

    Hi,
    I am using Jsf:Default action inside my submit button.In my form I have row of two buttons submit and reset.When I use my tab focus on reset button and when I am clicking enter submit default action is getting fired rather reset action.More over if I am using spacebar after tab focus reset button is called as expected.The problem identified is only with IE browsers
    In case of Mozilla,default action is overridden by tab focus action and working properly.
    Please advise me how to solve this issue in IE
    Note:The j4j:defaultAction custom component included in the j4j tag libraries allows you to define the default action for a form by adding <j4j:defaultAction /> as a child tag to the commandButton tag.

    Amit,
    Thanks for your answer. I fixed it using javascript .First I got all the buttons in the DOM and did a check to find if there is any current focus using document.activeElement.type="button" else to go with default submit action.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

  • Problem in JSF link hx:outputLinkEx

    Hi all,
    I have a scenario where I want to open a file in a new window when the user clicks on the link..... Well, I have already worked on this thing previously. But my main issue is explained over here:
    I have a dataTable. One of the columns in dataTable consists of the link to an xml file. The URLs for these links are different for each n every record. I'm providing the URL to these links by using a DTO.
    So if I send the URL as
    \\SERVER_NAME\FOLDER_NAME\ITM - abc.xml
    (Please mind the space before and after the hiphen(-) in the preceding URL) through my DTO to the JSF component <hx:outputLinkEx/>, the URL value being picked up is
    \\SERVER_NAME\FOLDER_NAME\ITM+-+abc.xml.
    Please observe that the " "(blank spaces) are converted to "+"(plus sign).
    I tried hard to fix the above problem but all the efforts in vain......
    Please help me to solve the above problem........
    Thanks.
    KKK

    Then what could be the reason????
    If I'm working in Java I use SMB files from jcifs jars to read the data and then use the java.io.* class to write that data to the browser.
    What possible solutions can you suggest me through JSF components to display the data on a browser or on a file????
    This is what I'm using in my code:
    <hx:outputLinkEx styleClass="outputLinkEx" id="originalMessage_Link" target="target.blank" value="#{messageLogs.messageLog_Severity_ProcessDTO.originalMessageFile}" >
                                       <h:outputText id="originalMessage_Text" styleClass="outputText" value="Original Message">               </h:outputText>
    </hx:outputLinkEx>
    Thanks
