Problem in adding a new web service provider system in NWA SOA

Hello,
Portal version : CE7.3 EHP1 SP9
I am trying to add a web service system in "NWA > SOA > Technical Configuration > System Connections > Provider Systems > New".
I have web service WSDL URL with me which is like: -
https://webservicehostname/dswsbobje/qaawsservices/biws?WSDL=1&cuid=AfO9g_JmE0ZOiZzdvNtCbxg
When I enter this URL in input field "WSIL URL" and click on "Next", I get error saying: -
"Cannot connect to https://webservicehostname:443/dswsbobje/qaawsservices/biws?WSDL=1&cuid=AfO9g_JmE0ZOiZzdvNtCbxg
HTTP Message : Unable to connect to webservicehostname:443 - Connection refused".
(attached screenshot)
Now, it puzzles me that why & how it is appending colon & port number in the entered URL as protocol is already https?
Basis & network team is looking into connectivity related settings, but from my side, I wanted to answer/know why & how this port number is getting appended in entered URL and how to prevent it.
Any ideas/help please.
Thanks & Regards,
Amey Mogare

Hello Atul,
In WSDL URL and content itself, there is no port number specified as protocol used is https.
(screenshot).
The problem is, after clicking on "Next", system is somehow inserting port number in between URL which it ideally should not as URL protocol is https.
Thanks & Regards,
Amey Mogare

    - Click tab "Business Administration"
    - Click "Web Service Administration"
    - Choose "Service" for "Search by"
    - Enter a search pattern (E g Z*) and press "Go"

  • GenericServiceFactory initialization problem when trying to load Web servic

    Hi,
I am making a Guided procedure that calls a webservice. I have created a new Destination Template and was able to load the webservice definition successfully, but when I test the callable object I created for that same webservice y get the error:
GenericServiceFactory initialization problem when trying to load Web service model for WSDL.
Somehow I think there is something wrong with the user authentication. The Destination template has a user and password but somehow I think the callable object test is not using this information at all.
    Can anyone help ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Hans,
Have you verified if you can call any external web service calls from your J2EE engine?  Go into the SOA Management / Global settings (if you are on CE - if you're on 7.0 it's in manage WS desintations).
Look at your proxy settings and set them like your web browser that enables external calls.  For example, in the SAP network I set my global proxy settings on my local J2EE engine to be:
    Proxy host:  proxy
    Proxy port: 8080
    Exclude list:  *.sap.corp
Does that make sense - have you verified if your settings are correct for your company?

  • Database as Web Services Provider?

    Hello!
Would you please forgive me my silly question but...
My customer has purchased and is using Oracle RDBMS 10g.
Now the customer wants the database to be accessible by web services clients.
The customer thinks that this can be done with already purchased RDBMS (without Oracle's Application Server). The customer cites Oracle: "Database as Web Services Provider: Database operations and data retrieval are executed through Web Services mechanisms" (http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/webservices/database.html).
However, in my honest opinion the customer MUST install some web server. if the customer is especially insterested in Oracle's solutions, then it has to (additionally to already purchased RDBMS) buy either Oracle Application Server or WebLogic.
    Who is right?
    Sincerely Yours,
    Michail

    Michail,
For DB 10g, you are right - the solution is to use PL/SQL Web Services for which an OracleAS/OC4J server is essential.
For DB 11g, both you & your customer are right. In addition to the above like 10g, there is a new feature in 11g called Native XML DB Web Services within the DB which does not require any Web Server or AS. See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28369/xdb_web_services.htm

  • Old client - new web service

    Hi,
i try to migrate our old web services from axis 1.2 to a jboss web service under jbossws - native with jaxws.
the client send a string to the web service and the return value is also a string.
the old web service is rpc/encoded and the client was generated bei the axis tools.
with a few changes i can use my old client to the new web service.
but i didnt understand why i can use a rpc/encoded client to a jaxws web service using doc/lit.
    so my questions are :
    a) why is a jaxws web service able to read an soap-request with rpc/encoded? i thougth it is forbidden by the ws-i
    b) i also hear there could be interoperability problems with rpc/encoded. why it don´t affect my web service?
we have a lot of serviceuser so it would be good if they can use their old clients.
    best regards
    Chris

Their old web service exposed the WSDL through a .asmx file.  The new web service exposes the WSDL though a .svc file.
That would mean that the older service was written using ASP.net web services and the newer one was written using WCF.
That's ok to me, I wanted to move up to the .NET SOAP engine anyway.
That's still likely to be a problem.  That's because the .Net SOAP engine that Classic uses is base on ASP.Net.  WCF implements a lot of web services standards that ASP.Net doesn't know how to handle.  Your best bet for consuming a WCF web service would be the WCF client in PB.Net.
Problem #2: The .NET SOAP engine seems to have a problem passing some array data.
You might try upgrading to 12.5.2  There have been continuous improvements to the .Net SOAP engine since it was first introduced.

  • Problem in stubbing out Soap Web Service

    Hi,
I have a problem stubbing out a SOAP web service in Flash Builder 4.  The problem is that not all the classes are created.  This happens when a base class is referenced by a method in the schema.  The classes that extends the base class do not get created.
Here is an example: method doSomething returns a class called ResponseBase.  Even though MyResponse, which extends ResponseBase, is in a xsd which is referenced by the WSDL, MyResponse class is not created as value objects.
Another example is: method doSomething takes a parameter called ParamClass.  ParamClass contains a property of type SomeClassBase.  MyClass which extends SomeClassBase is not created even though it is defined in an xsd.
Does that sound like a limitation of the Flash Builder 4?  Is there another way to create the proxy classes from a web service?
    Thanks,
    Ming

    Sekar,
    I have the same problem.
How did you change your web service as Anonymous?
I have a user id and pwd, i tried by appending end of the service and tried with basic authentication by passing uid and pwd. No luck.
Can you please help me how to change web service as anonymous?

such as, the response payload NS prefix is soapenv, other than soap-env in request payload...
but i am not sure, whether this is the root cause.
Could you help me to find out what is going wrong here?

the response payload NS prefix is soapenv, other than soap-env in request payload
xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" is equivalent to xmlns:soap-env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" . Namespace defined correctly.
I can also see that response is correct (assuming "S" denote success):
    <CreateITEMReturn>S</CreateITEMReturn>
Also check type of WSDL style usually this error occurs if you are using RPC/Encoded style WSDL, modify wsdl for Document/Literal style (as RPC style WSDL not supported by ABAP proxy), see this discussion here: Cleint Proxy error

  • Content Server: News Web Service - Customization

I have highly customized the news web service portlet. The final item on my list of customizations is to only show the "Create Article" when the user has the appropriate priveleges. How can I retrieve the user's authorization/permission level so that they will not see the "You are not authorized message" since they will never see the button?

  • XML DB as a web service provider

Does anyone know where I can find some info/sample programs that use XML DB as a web service provider. I'd like to start publishing PL/SQL packages as web services and can't seem to find anything other than high-level info.
    Thanks for any responses.

  • Using existing Application Modules Entities in web service provider

Hi, I want to implement a web service provider having a WSDL file and using JAXWS.
Is it possible to use in input methods of the service, an Application Module or Entities or View Objects that exist in a separate project.
I want to perform database operations and facilitate transactions using existing ORM mapping of ADF.
    Thanks,
    Ilias Stavrakis

Yes, it is possible, but you have to checkout and release the ApplicationModules manually. Use the method <tt>Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(...)</tt> of the class <tt>oracle.jbo.client.Configuration</tt> to checkout modules, and use the method <tt>Configuration.releaseRootApplicationModule(...)</tt> to release it back to the AM pool at the end of processing.
See this blog entry http://jobinesh.blogspot.com/2010/04/invoking-applicationmodule-from-servlet.html despite the fact that it is not directly related to Web services.

  • How to get the UDDI Key to publish a service provider system in SR?

    Hi,
I am following instruction in appendix 1 & 2 of the white paper at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/1079b1af-dcb7-2b10-9ebb-eafcaa3cbbea?overridelayout=true
trying to publish a service provider system into the service registry. One thing not clear to me is how to get the uddikey as needed in step 6 in appendix 1.
My service registry is in a PI 7.1 SP4 system. I followed the instruction in appendix 2 but there is no uddi key displayed in the General tab. Please help.
    Regards,
    Jiannan
    Paragraph extracted from the whitepaper:
There may be cases in which the NWA logical settings do not match the Services Repository
settings when Visual Composer is trying to locate the enterprise services. Such cases can occur
when there is no SLD ID definition of the physical system in the Services Repository.
Currently, Visual Composer cannot search for services on a physical system with an empty SLD ID
(which is not a valid one).
To obtain this capability, the following steps should be performed to generate the necessary data
for each system with a non-valid SLD ID, so that Visual Composer can search for services over it.
    1.Log on to http://<serverName>:<serverPort>/WSNavigator.
2.Select the Services Registry radio button.
3.In the Find field, enter sr and choose Go.
4.Select the ServicesRegistrySi line and choose Next.
5.Under the Operation Name, search for the publishPhysicalSystems operation, select it and choose Next.
6.Fill the service information parameters with the following (see Appendix 2 for details on how to get this information) :
6.1.Click the + icon in the physical system[].
      6.2.Deselect the Classifications checkbox.
6.3.Click the + icon in the classificationReferenceGroups[].
6.4.Click the + icon in the classificationReferences[].
      6.5.Deselect the classificationSystemKey checkbox.
6.6.Deselect the uddiKey checkbox and enter the value <localUddiKey>.
6.7.Deselect the value checkbox and enter the value <localSystemHostName>.
6.8.Deselect the host checkbox and enter the value <localHostName>.
      6.9.Deselect the physicalSystemKey checkbox.
6.10.Deselect the logical key checkbox and enter the value <System name>.<SystemHome>.<host name>.
6.11.Deselect the systemName checkbox and enter the value <system name>.
6.12.Deselect the type checkbox and enter the value 2.

    Hi Jiannan,
No worries, you can go to UDDI client from the main page of PI  i.e. http://<serverName>:<serverPort>/
And you use the search function for  the TModel for your Physical System. Search parameters can use the % wildcard.
Hit the search and you find the UDDI Key for the Physical System.
    Cheers.

  • Problems to invoke a secure Web service from Oracle BPM Studio 10.3

    Hi all
I'm trying to consume a web service through HTTPS protoloco Oracle BPM Studio v10.3, but I get the following error: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target.
    Some help!!
    Thanks

Without going into any technical discussion about the code, my first question is what JDK version was used to create this which was imported into the form? Understand that Forms 10 runs on JDK 1.4.2, so if you used any newer JDK version, likely there will be problems.

  • Discovery System: Problems with exposing RFC as web service

We have a version 2 discovery system and have successfully implemented the three exercises from the TechEd workshop (Sales Order Distribution, Creating a PO Store Record WS, Adding a New Step to the Procurement Scenario with SAP CAF GP). It seems to work fine except for two issues with the RFC/WS:
    1) The RFC, and therefore the WS, always returns an empty string instead of the 'X' that the documentation shows in Step 4.h. We checked the RFC itself and it looks like it has an error with the price field; it always appends a blank to the end of the price string and then errors.
    2) The created web service does not show up on the Web Services Navigator page. Since the instructions tell you to save the URL to the WSDL, we can find the web service and test it, but you cannot find it on the Navigator page.
Neither of these problems are huge, but they make me worry that something is not quite right in the Discovery System and we may end up with larger problems later. Any ideas what could cause these two problems, and how to fix them?
    Thanks, Eric

    Hi Eric,
First of all let me assure you that your system is perfectly fine and both topics that you have raised are the way the system is suppose to respond.
    1. The reason that the service is returning a null is because you are entering the same input parameters more than once. Since some of the parameters are used as primary key's in the database, you will need to change them in order to successfully store the data.
    2. The reason that you don't see the service in the Navigator page is because this service resides in the ERP and not in WebAS. Only services deployed on the WebAS will appear in the Web Service Navigator page.
    Thanks,
    Itai
