Problem in dropdown by index in table

Hi all,
i have created one table with dropdownby Index field .
In DISPLAY....i am able to get all values corresponding to the selection.In debugging i am getting all entries for dropdown field but while display i am getting first DD value.
And in CREATE ....when i am selecting first value in DD field for 1st row and then selecting another value for 2nd row it is taking second value for all rows.means whatever i select...same value is populated in all DD field of rows.
Thanks
Kiran

nope, it has to be arranged in the context level. I suspect that you have problem there.
See for example the context structure.
node_sflight
      carrid
      connid
      node_booking (cardinality 0..n)
         sconnid
         sdate
         stext
node_sflight is binded to the tabple datasource property of the table.
you have a column booking with DDBI as cell_editor, bind this source property to the node_booking.
bind the text property to the one of the attribute in node_booking like stext.
You need to fill the data node_booking for every row in the node_sflight.

  • Highlight dropdown by index in table control in FPM error

    Hello,
    I have a situation where I would like to point out to a user that they have to maintain a value in a dropdown field in a table control. I am trapping the error situation in the Process_Event method of the FPM in my component,
    I would like to raise an FPM error to highlight this to the user. If I do this with a normal input field I can just pass the element and attribute that I want highlighting to the FPM error handler
    eg:
    wd_this->ao_fpm->mo_message_manager->report_bapiret2_message(
                                is_bapiret2 = ls_message-message_details
                                io_component = lo_component
                                io_element = ls_message-element
                                iv_attribute_name = ls_message-attribute_name ).
    and the field is highlighted and linked to the error.
    However, if the field is of a type dropdown by index, I can't seem to get it to highlight. I have tried passing the element that the dropdown text is bound to and the attribute/name of the text field, but this does not work. I even tried passing the child node name as the attribute, and the element as the parent element of the node holding the dropdown list - but unsuprisingly this doesn't work either.
    Is there anyway to highlight/link a dropdown by index field to an FPM error message - or is this functionality currently unsupported? Or perhaps I am making a simple mistake somewhere?
    Thanks for any suggestions!
    Cheers,
    Chris

    hi Chris,
    As far as i know this functionality is not supported.I have had the same problem earlier.

  • DropDown by Index in table control

    Hi,
    I'm using dropdown by index(i need different values for each row) in my table control and I have this problem:
    I have this context binded to my table control:
    TABLE_NODE (card. 0..n)
       - ATRIB1
       - ATRIB2
       - DROPDWN_NODE (card. 0..n sel. 0..1) - to this node dropdown by index is binded
            - VALUE
            - TEXT     <-- bind this attribute to Texts property
    Dropdown is filled OK, but how to transfer selected dropdown value to ATRIB2? And then, if I have a value in ATRIB2, how to diplay correct text for user in dropdown?
    Another thing is that I have 2 dropdowns by value in table and values of second depends on selected value in first. How should I refresh second dropdown by index when user change value in first?
    Many thanks for reply.

    I'm also facing the issue.  Can u plz. share the source code.

  • How to populate table editor which has dropdown by index in a column

    Hi Experts,
    I have a table editor with 3 columns.
    Column 1. DD By Index - Subjects
    Column2: marks ( input field )
    column3: Result ( text view)
    On an action of button on top of the view, i am getting the data for column2 and 3 and populating the node but i am unable to populate the column 1 Dropdown by Index.
    My Node looks like this:
    Node_Parent
       Node_DD
          Subject_Text
       Marks
       Result
    When i get the internal table for Node_parent i am not getting Node_dd in that, so i am populating Marks and Result. binding it.
    again looping on lt_parent and binding the node_dd.
    it works fine when there is one row in lt_parent, its going for dump when its more than 2 records.
    What am i missing while binding the subnode Node_DD while looping?
    Any clue is highly appreciated.
    Note: I am not using Supply Function to populate the subnode.

    Hi,
    Parent Node and Child node has cardinality 0 to N only.
    I am getting the child node of the parent.
    Lo_node_parent->get_child_node ( name = 'Node_dd' )
    i am trying to bind an internal table to Lo_node_parent but i am getting a dump with error
    "COMPONENTCONTRLLER.1.PARENT.2.NODE_DD.NODE_DD" does not exist.
    Binding works when there is one record in Parent node
    loop at lt_parent into ls_parent.
    binding the child node
    endloop.
    above thing works fine when there is one record, but when there are more than 1 record i am getting the above error.

  • Problem with a 2 columns Range Partitioning for a indexed organized table

    have an indexed organized table with a 2 column PK. the first field (datum) is a date field the second field (installatieid) is a number(2) field.
    Every minute a 7 records are inserted (installatieid 0-6).
    I like to partition this table with one partition per year per installatieid.
    I tried to do it with:
    partition by range(datum,installatieid)
    (partition P_2004_0 values less than (to_date('2004-01,'yyyy-mm'),1)
    ,partition P_2004_6 values less than (to_date('2004-01','yyyy-mm'),7)
    partition P_2005_0 values less than (to_date('2005-01','yyyy-mm'),1)
    ,partition P_2005_6 values less than (to_date('2005-01','yyyy-mm'),7)
    but now only the P_2004_0 and P_2005_0 are filled.
    I thought about to combine a range partition on datum with a list subpartition on installatieid, but I read this is not allowed with an index organized table.
    How can I solve this problem.

    partition by range(datum,installatieid)
    (partition P_2004_0 values less than
    (to_date('2004-01,'yyyy-mm'))
    ,partition P_2004_6 values less than
    (to_date('2004-07','yyyy-mm'))
    partition P_2005_0 values less than
    (to_date('2005-01','yyyy-mm'))
    ,partition P_2005_6 values less than
    (to_date('2005-07','yyyy-mm'))
    ? Sorry haven't got time to test it this morning ;0)

  • DropDown by index not clearing previous values

    Dropdown by index issue.
    I am having a problem with my dropdown not clearing previous entries.
    I have a webdynpro that has two views, main and appraisal.  I can enter the appraisal view from the main.  The appraisal view contains a drop down. At this point, I the dropdown appears to work correctly.  However, if I then enter a second appraisal, the drop down displays the value from the previous entry.  I tried clearing out the drop down in wddomodifyview, but that just cleared out the actual line of the previous selection in the drop down, so I removed that code.
    Here is what I have done so far.
    Under Context in the appraisal view, I have created a node named DD1_1 which contains the attributes rating and rtext.
    I have created a Supply Function attached to it called DD_MAPPING1_1, which contains the following code:
    method DD_MAPPING1_1 .
    * create local data variable to access context information
      Data: context_node type ref to if_wd_context_node.
    * create table based on context structure
      Data: it_rating type STANDARD TABLE OF if_appraisal=>element_DD1_1,
            wa_rating like line of it_rating.
      clear wa_rating.
      wa_rating-rating = ' '. wa_rating-rtext = ' '.
      append wa_rating to it_rating.
      wa_rating-rating = '1'. wa_rating-rtext = 'Below Expectations'.
      append wa_rating to it_rating.
      wa_rating-rating = '2'. wa_rating-rtext = 'Met Expectations (low)'.
      append wa_rating to it_rating.
      wa_rating-rating = '3'. wa_rating-rtext = 'Met Expectations (medium)'.
      append wa_rating to it_rating.
      wa_rating-rating = '4'. wa_rating-rtext = 'Met Expectations (high)'.
      append wa_rating to it_rating.
      wa_rating-rating = '5'. wa_rating-rtext = 'Exceeded Expectations'.
      append wa_rating to it_rating.
      context_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = 'DD1_1').
      context_node->BIND_TABLE( it_rating ).
    endmethod.
    I feel I am missing something, but seeing this is my first time attempting a dropdown, I am not certain what.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    I have tried this code in the inbound plug handler:
      DATA lo_nd_dd1_1 TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
      DATA lo_el_dd1_1 TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element.
    * navigate from <CONTEXT> to <DD1_1> via lead selection
      lo_nd_dd1_1 = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_dd1_1 ).
    * get element via lead selection
      lo_el_dd1_1 = lo_nd_dd1_1->get_element( ).
      clear lo_el_dd1_1.
      lo_nd_dd1_1->set_lead_selection(
        element = lo_el_dd1_1
    and the program is bombing out with the message
    Invalid index 0 when setting lead selection; context node: APPRAISAL.1.DD1_1
    Should I be using set_lead_selection_index?
    Thank you for all your help.

    This is a known problem with SQL Server 2000, see

  • Creation of indexes in tables

    SAP 4.7      6.20       Oracle 10g       Windows Server 2003
    Our SAP system was based on SQL.
    Last month it was changed to Oracle 10g.
    We really have a lot of developments ( Z programs ), and it's normal for us to create indexes some times.
    But I don't know if we are supposed to change our habits from now on because of Oracle.
    I have 2 questions :
    1) Is the creation of indexes in tables so effective in Oracle as it was for SQL databases ?
    2) When I create an index, Am I supposed to use the field MANDT as part of the index ?
    Eduardo

    Hi,
    We are on Oracle 10.2.4.0 .My answers for point
    1. Ensure that oracle patches are up-to-date. Also oracle parameters are set correctly.There is one S-note(do not remember right now) which has script file which you can run on your system to find if oracle parameters are set according to recommendation.
    2. Mandt can be used in Z programs.Not a problem.
    For future: Analyze Expensive SQl statements with the help of St03N and St04 for next2-3 months and tune them.

  • How to Populate a Dropdown field for a table control with different keys

    Hi All,
    I have Table control with abt eight columns (fields). Out of these eight field one field is with dropdown list. In table control Project ID is Primary key column. Depending upon this Project ID value, i have different values which is to be populated in dropdown boxes. In table control if there is only one project ID value say 'P000715' i can populate it but when i have more than one project ID (P000715, p000716, P000717.....) in display in rows of table control i want to have different values in my dropdown field corresponding to that row of project id. Experts please tell me how to achieve this functionality.

    The only way you may be able to do this is using
    MODULE PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST. User-programmer F4 help
    in your PAI routine.
    In this routine you would build the list and get the returned value to update the field.
    Something like this.
      DATA: BEGIN OF value_tab OCCURS 0,
        field1 TYPE zlmltype,
        field2 TYPE zltypex,
      END OF value_tab.
    * Drop down values
      REFRESH it_return_tab. CLEAR it_return_tab.
      REFRESH value_tab. CLEAR value_tab.
      SELECT ltype ltypex
        INTO TABLE value_tab
        FROM zlmltyp
        WHERE auth NE '9'.    "System Only
      CALL FUNCTION 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST'

  • Performance problem because of ignored index

    Hi,
    We have a performance problem with kodo ignoring indexes in Oracle:
    Our baseclass of all our persistent classes (LogasPoImpl) has a subclass
    CODEZOLLMASSNAHMENIMPL.
    We use vertical mapping for all subclasses and have 400.000 instances of
    CODEZOLLMASSNAHMENIMPL.
    We defined an additional index on an attribute of CODEZOLLMASSNAHMENIMPL.
    A query with a filter like "myIndexedAttribute = 'DE'" takes about 15
    seconds on Oracle 8.1.7.
    Kodo logs something like the following:
    [14903 ms] executing prepstmnt 6156689 SELECT (...)
    FROM CODEZOLLMASSNAHMENIMPL t0, LOGASPOIMPL t1
    WHERE (t0.myIndexedAttribute = ?)
    AND t1.JDOCLASS = ?
    AND t0.JDOID = t1.JDOID
    [params=(String) DE, (String)
    de.logas.zoll.eztneu.CodeZollMassnahmenImpl] [reused=0]
    When I execute the same statement from a SQL-prompt, it takes that long as
    well, but when I swap the tablenames in the from part
    (to "FROM LOGASPOIMPL t1, CODEZOLLMASSNAHMENIMPL t0") the result comes
    immediately.
    I've had a look at the query plans, oracle creates for the two statements
    and found, that our index on myIndexedAttribute is not used
    by the first statement, but it is by the second.
    How can I make Kodo use the faster statement?
    I've tried to use the "jdbc-indexed" tag, but without success so far.
    Thanks,
    Wolfgang

    I've tried to use the "jdbc-indexed" tag, but without success so far.I know that in DB2 there is a function called "Run Statistics" which you
    can (and should do) on all tables involved in a query (at least once a
    month, when there are heavy changes in the tables).
    On information gathered by this statistics DB2 can optimize your queries
    and execution path's
    Since I was once involved in query performance optimizing on DB/2 I can
    say you can get improvements of 80% on big tables on which statistics are
    run and not. (Since the execution plans created by the optimizer differ
    heavily)
    Since I'm working now with Oracle as well, at least I can say, that Oracle
    has a featere like statistics as well. (go into the manager enterprise
    Console and click on a table, you will find a row "statisitics last run")
    I don't know how to trigger these statistics nor whether they would
    influence the query execution path on oracle (thus "swapping" tablenames
    by itself), since I didn't have time to do further research on thatmatter.
    But it's worth a try to find out and maybe it helps on you problem ?

  • Finding Parent Table of Index Organized Table

    I am using Oracle 10g Rel 2 and faced error message while granting select priviliges ORA-25191: cannot reference overflow table of an index-organized table
    I searched solution and found: Issue the statement against the parent index-organized table containing the specified overflow table.
    Question is how can i find parent index-organized table containing the specified overflow table.
    Further i faced an other error while granting select priviliges : ORA-22812: cannot reference nested table column's storage table

  • Is Index organization tables better in performance compare to normal tables

    Hi,
    i am using oracle 10g and my domain is on telecom.
    my requirement is when 'A' party calls 'B' Party based on 'B' party number
    we have to find which area the call lands based on that tariff will be applied
    but the data configured in Area table is not the complete number its just a CC+NDC(4or5 digits in length)
    so i have to find which one matches the nearest to 'B' party number.
    i uses the following query
    select max(area_code)
    from ZONE_AREA
    where '9888123456' like AREA_CODE||'%'
    and network_id=1;
    this is the structure of the table
    create table ZONE_AREA(
    AREA_CODE VARCHAR2(20),
    AREA_NAME VARCHAR2(30) not null,
    ZONE_CODE VARCHAR2(10) not null,
    CALL_TYPE VARCHAR2(1) not null,
    NETWORK_ID NUMBER(2),
    primary key (NETWORK_ID, AREA_CODE))
    the table contains around 200000 rows.
    the data in table look like
    AREA_CODE
    98812
    90020
    900
    9732
    the hit ratio for the above query is massive since it fires for every call but my DBA complaining me
    this query utilizes more CPU need to be tuned.
    i thought of going for Index organization tables since i never used this but want to give a try to see any improvisation is there
    Hence i created the Index organization table(IOT) for the same above structure in my development environment
    with 60,000 rows in it.
    create table ZONE_AREA_IOT
    AREA_CODE VARCHAR2(20),
    AREA_NAME VARCHAR2(30) not null,
    ZONE_CODE VARCHAR2(10) not null,
    CALL_TYPE VARCHAR2(1) not null,
    NETWORK_ID NUMBER(2),
    CONSTRAINT pk_admin_docindex1 PRIMARY KEY (NETWORK_ID, AREA_CODE))
    ORGANIZATION INDEX
    also the plain table (ZONE_AREA) have 60,000 rows in my development server.
    now i fired the query on my plain table
    select max(area_code)
    from ZONE_AREA
    where '9888123456' like AREA_CODE||'%'
    and network_id=1;
    the following is the execution plan

    |* 3 | INDEX RANGE SCAN (MIN/MAX)| SYS_C007738 | 1 | 11 | 3 (34)| 00:00:01 |
    now i fired the query on the newly created IOT table
    select max(area_code)
    from ZONE_AREA_IOT
    where '9888123456' like AREA_CODE||'%'
    and network_id=1;

    both tables have similar record count
    but the plans differ don't under stand the Rows column in the above plans for normal table its shows 11 bytes
    for IOT table it shows 525 bytes why this difference ?
    also CPU cost shows 3 in normal table and for IOT it shows 2
    for the above scenario is IOT table is advisable will it cut down the CPU cost is any overheads there for using IOT
    please respond

    I think you are deviating from the real problem.
    I'm also in Telecom domain and what you are talking about is what is called "most matching" algorithm.
    Practically suppose that party A calls party B and you want to know which is the tariff to apply.
    Usually tariff tables are based on this "most matching" criteria where the correct tariff is the most matching with the called number.
    Let me give you an example.
    Suppose that I have a tariff table in this way:
    WITH mytariff AS
       SELECT '90123' destination, 1.5 tariff_per_min FROM DUAL UNION ALL
       SELECT '9012'  destination, 1.6 tariff_per_min FROM DUAL UNION ALL
       SELECT '901'   destination, 1.7 tariff_per_min FROM DUAL UNION ALL
       SELECT '90'    destination, 1.8 tariff_per_min FROM DUAL UNION ALL
       SELECT '55123' destination, 1.0 tariff_per_min FROM DUAL UNION ALL
       SELECT '5512'  destination, 1.1 tariff_per_min FROM DUAL UNION ALL
       SELECT '551'   destination, 1.2 tariff_per_min FROM DUAL UNION ALL
       SELECT '55'    destination, 1.3 tariff_per_min FROM DUAL
    SELECT * FROM mytariff;
    DESTINATION          TARIFF_PER_MIN
    90123                           1.5
    9012                            1.6
    901                             1.7
    90                              1.8
    55123                             1
    5512                            1.1
    551                             1.2
    55                              1.3
    {code}
    Correct me if I'm wrong:
    {code}
    if party A dials 901234567 then it will match destination 90123 and tariff_per_min 1.5
    if party A dials 901244567 then it will match destination 9012  and tariff_per_min 1.6
    if party A dials 901344567 then it will match destination 901   and tariff_per_min 1.6
    if party A dials 551244567 then it will match destination 5512  and tariff_per_min 1.1
    etc.
    {code}
    Confirm if this is your criteria in finding the tariff.
    The billing/rating systems I know usually store this information in database tables but the rating engine (generally a c++ program in Unix) is normally reading this information once, putting them in memory and rating the calls by reading information in memory.
    I'm not saying that this is the only approach but it seems the most used.
    In your case, It looks that you are using to do the same thing SQL or PL/SQL and definitely I understand that applying this algorithm by reading the tariff table for each call records is going to affect your performances heavily.
    I have a couple of questions for your:
    1) Are you using a SQL statement or a PL/SQL procedure to rate your calls?
    2) Could you show us how you assign the tariff to your calls?
    I don't think using IOT will solve your problem. IOT has the advantage to read the data together with the index and it is suitable especially if you read your data always with a certain key.
    If your data about tariff is static, or doesn't change so often, which I suppose it the case, you could consider a different approach like loading them in a collection in PL/SQL and them retrieving them from collection. It might not be the optimal solution but it is worth considering it.
    In order to evaluate your problem please give the details mentioned above.
    Regards.

  • Indexes on Index Organized Table

    I remember seeing a note regarding problems in using indexs on index organized tables. Of course, the index would be something other than the one implied in the table definition. I can't seem to remember what the problem was.
    Has anyone used indexes on index organized tables successfully? (unsuccessfully?)
    Oracle 8i on a Tru64 platform
    Thanks
