Hi,
You want to create tablespace Or User?
From DBA privileged user you can able to create "tablespace" after that assign particular user to newly created tablespace.

  • Problem in tablespaces size

    hi gurus
    i installed ecc 6.0 with oracle 10g after installation i checked tablespaces but these are like this
    psapsr3 -80%(used)
    psapsr3700-99%(used)
    system-97%(used)
    sysaux-93%
    but according to threshold values max allowed upto 80% why it is showing above 95%
    what can i do for this. is there any problem in feature for this tablespaces.

    vasu,
    Have you run SGEN after installation? as it compile and regenerates all the screens & programs and occupies the most of the tablespace size.
    Your tablespace size is normal, just add datafiles.

    Rajesh

    I have a problem, the space of tablespaces is different from the datafile, and it is shrinking from the console of the Oracle tablespaces, the datafile remains in the same space at all.

  • Oracle 8.1.7.4 / Redhat 7.3 : tablespace creation never ends

    Hi,
    We're running Oracle 8.1.7.4 on Redhat 7.3. System memory is 256 MB (2x128).
    After increasing memory to 1Go (2x512) we're facing a strange problem.
    Tablespaces re-creation hangs, we first drop and then create tablespaces reusing datafiles :
    DROP TABLESPACE TST1 INCLUDING CONTENTS CASCADE CONSTRAINTS;
    DROP TABLESPACE TSI1 INCLUDING CONTENTS CASCADE CONSTRAINTS;
    CREATE TABLESPACE TST1 DATAFILE '?/tst1.dbf' SIZE 1050M REUSE DEFAULT STORAGE (MAXEXTENTS 121 PCTINCREASE 1);
    CREATE TABLESPACE TSI1 DATAFILE '?/tsi1.dbf' SIZE 700M REUS
    E DEFAULT STORAGE (MAXEXTENTS 121 PCTINCREASE 1);
    In the alert.log, drops and first tablespace creation are completed.
    Second tablespace is not created and the oracle process keeps running consuming 99% CPU.
    strace on process after hangs shows nothing.
    Using toad, we see that last sql command issued by session is insert into $ts.... there's no current statement.
    Everything works fine if we set memory back to 256 MB.
    This problem first appeared in production environnement, and we got same problem in dev environnement, so it happens on several servers (Compaq ML370).
    Got no idea, what else could we check to find where's the bug ? Should we tune some oracle or kernel parameters after increasing mem ?
    Mike.

    oracle 8i ouch.........that's desupported, but anyways........
    check your SHMMAX to see may be it's limiting the use of memory

  • Tablespace Threshold Metrics (exceptions)

    (I entered a SR but no answer as of yet)
    I created to overriding thresholds for Tablespace Full, one for TEMP, the other for UNDOTBS. Problem Those tablespaces still trigger alerts based on the thresholds set for the "default/other" tablespace metrics.
    Any one get this working in 10gR2? I believe it worked in 10gR1 Grid.
    I dont see it tracing problemTbsp.pl or fullTbsp.pl scripts. I cant figure out which perl script is being run such that I can debug the problem.
    Help?

    started and stopped many times, upload metrics, clearstate etc.
    I believe there is something fundamentally wrong. Has anyone else tried this functionality? Is it broke elsewhere?

  • ORA-01659: unable to allocate MINEXTENTS beyond 13 in tablespace TBSP1

    Hi,
    I am getting crazy on how to solve this error. :(
    I still have 4Gb space in my TBSP1, what does "13" in the keyword "beyond" stands for? is it in bytes or blocks? which parameter can I see this number 13? Is it in tablespace/datafiles storage params or is it in create table parameter?
    Thanks

    Possible solutions:
    **On the command prompt**
    1.Make sure data file is not filled up and auto extend is on.
    2.Try to add a data file or alter existing data file with auto extend capability and max extents unlimited.
    alter database datafile '/..../fiilename.dbf' autoextend on maxsize unlimited;
    3.Try de-fragmentation of tablespace that caused the problem.
    alter tablespace TBSP1 coalesce;
    **If you have TOAD, here is the best possible solution**
    1. Go to database icon, click schema browser, set your schema as SYSTEM or SYS, then look for tablespaces tab below.
    2. Click on the tablespaces tab, look for the tablespace that caused the problem,click the tablespace.
    3. Click Basic Info tab, beneath that find extent management.
    4. Click on auto allocate extent sizes.
    5. Click OK button.
    That`s it Problem is resolved.

  • Help in  temperory  tablespace

    Hi
    Could be bit silly question
    can someone please tell me what is the usage of the temp tablespace in oracle 8i database what could be the max size of the files in that tablespace, is that tablespace recycled when it is full . i am asking this question coz i am often encounter the problem temp tablespace full which is apx 2 gb. when i run some database jobs .
    Thanks in Advance

    Temporary tablespace is used for on disk sorting. The natural of temporary tablespace is recycling the segments usage as needed.
    You should see some usage of this tablespace when you have sorting activities in your database for example, query with order by, group by or index building etc..
    One thing you could do is find out which activities causing out of temporary tablespace problem. If it's a query, can you tune the query to use less sorting?

  • SQL1139n The total size of the table space is too big.

    Hi
    Our R3 QA system runs on Solaris 10, using DB6 822.
    We have now run into a problem, where we cannot extend a table. It is 66GB in size. Because the page file size is 8 kb, the limit is apparently 64 GB (we got it to 66GB).
    It seems we will have to increase the page file size to get past the problem, say 16k or 32k. The question is how?
    So far we have a framework in mind:
    Create new table
    Copy old table into new table
    Drop old table
    Recreate old table with bigger page file size
    Copy new table into old table (now this new /old is getting confusing..)
    Bob's you aunty, or something of that effect...
    Is the thinking correct? If it is I will need much more detail, as I am not too familiar with DB2.
    Thanks in advance!

    hi derik,
    the db6-specific limits for max tablespace/table size are
    64/128/256/512GB for 4/8/16/32KB pagesize.
    for problems like "tablespace/table reaches its pagesize dependent max. size",
    we (DB6 porting team of SAP) have developed a special tool/ABAP report called 'DB6CONV'.
    DB6CONV takes care of everything concerning a table conversion.
    it is in depth described in OSS note 362325. the report itself it delivered by means of a transport, which is attached to note 362325 and/or can be downloaded via sapmats.
    in your case you have to
    a) get the latest DB6CONV transport and import it into your system
    b) create a new tablespace with a pagesize >8k
    c) assign a new data class for this tbsp in tables TADB6 (for data tbsp) and/or IADB6 (for index/tbsp)
    d) run DB6CONV from transaction SE38 as described in note 362325
    to convert(transfer) the table that is at/near the size limit
    by specifying either target tablespaces or target data class
    e) DB6CONV will duplicate the table first into the new tablespace, then copy the data into the newly created table. this can be done either 'offline' (fastes way, but table is not accessible during the conversion) or 'online' (slow, but table is accessible the whole time - despite a short time period when the switch from original to target table is performed)
    please make yourself familiar with the tool and the documentation.
    and feel free to ask if you need more information or have additional questions/remarks.
    regards, frank

  • Spend a lot of time to insert

    Hi, I have a Insert which spend a lot of time.
    Is a simple insert:
    INSERT INTO TFE002
    (X_NOMCORRECTO,C_TITULAR,X_APPCORRECTO,X_ANOVAL,
    C_MODULAR,X_APMCORRECTO,C_USUARIO,C_POBLACION,

    X_T,X_NI,X_GRADO,X_SEXO,X_LOTEJUNTOS,
    X_ESTADO,X_CONTROL,F_REGISTRO,X_UBIGEO,
    N_ORDEN, X_CONSISTENCIA, C_DEPA, C_PROV, C_DIST
    )VALUES
    (LS_NOMBRES, LS_TITULAR, LS_APPATERNO, W_ANIO,
    LS_CENTROEDUCA, LS_APMATERNO, USER, LS_POBLACION,
    LS_FORMATO, LS_LOTE, LS_SECUENCIAL, LS_PERIODO,

    LN_CONT,'0', SUBSTR(LS_UBIGEO,1,2), SUBSTR(LS_UBIGEO,3,2), SUBSTR(LS_UBIGEO,5,2));
    I search for some trigger in insert, but it wasn't the problem. Tablespaces are not problem , they have enough espace.
    What else could be???

    Define "a lot of time". Exactly how long is this running?
    Are you running a singleton INSERT, or are you calling this repeatedly in a loop?
    Have you traced the session? Where is the time being spent?
    "I search for some trigger in insert, but it wasn't the problem" Does that mean there are no triggers on this table?

    hi the data users are accessing may be in first datafile only. in such a case users are getting their data. so they will not complain.
    secondly to recover just use
    sql> recover datafile <file_id> or <name of the file along with location>;
    but this will work out or you can recover your datafile upto the point only if your database is in archivelog mode.
    is your datafile is in archivelog mode?

    Thanks

    Hi
    Try to add the datafile, as the autoextension is off.
    You can do this by the help of SAPDBA/BRTOOLS.
    You would get the stuff related to BRTOOLS in hep.sap.com portal.
    Just go thorugh this link
    how to add a database table space, may be it would help you out a bit.
    If you get error in starting the brtools, just check the environmental variables like ORACLE_SID, ORACLE_HOME etc.
    Thanks
