Problem invoking filter

Hi,
I have an existing application with java 1.3 specifications. I have servlets and JSPs in the appication where I am using requestdispatcher to forward control to JSPs. I want to invoke a filter everytime the servlet forward the control to any JSP in my application.
I did the mapping as
<filter>
<filter-name>Filter1</filter-name>
<display-name>Filter1</display-name>
<filter-class>pkg.Filter1</filter-class>
</filter>
<filter-mapping>
<filter-name>Filter1</filter-name>
<url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
</filter-mapping>
Options already tried:
1) Coding only servlet mapping.
2) adding servlet mapping to the above mapping.
With the above mapping, the filter is not getting executed when request is forwarded to JSP.
When I am adding servlet mapping, the filter is invoked and as I am modifying the response in the filter, I am getting response already committed.
Can someone please let me know what is going wrong in my setup and it would be great if some can share thier code and filter-mapping with me.
email: [email protected]
Thanks in advance...

Starting with Java Servlet 2.4 you can use the
<dispatcher> element in the
<filter-mapping> element:
<dispatcher>INCLUDE</dispatcher>
<dispatcher>FORWARD</dispatcher>
We are still using WAS 5.
Is there any work around for running it with servlet 2.3.

    You may use Field Exit to do this enhancement. You can create fieldexit from report RSMODPRF.
    In order to use field exit check/activate Profile Parameter abap/fieldexit using t code RZ11.

  • Getting the error " [java] Problem invoking WLST - java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not find the OffLine WLST class " while building the O2A 2.1.0 PIP

    Getting the error " [java] Problem invoking WLST - java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not find the OffLine WLST class " while building the O2A 2.1.0 PIP. I am using the Design Studio 4.3.2 for building the O2A 2.1.0 PIP. Please let me know how to resolve this issue. Here I am enclosing the log file .

    We have basically the same issue when we try to create the interpreter using the embedded method..
    I was able to use the interpreter embedded in a java client as long as the weblogic jars were located in a weblogic install if I tried to use them from a maven repository no luck at all...
    All of this worked easily in 9.2 now in 10.3 it seems more error prone and less documented.
    I have seen close to a 100 posts on issues related to this so is there a document which outlines specifics....
    We / I have used weblogic now for almost 10 years and moving from 8.1 to 9.2 was painful and we expected the move from 9.2 to 10.3 not to be soo bad but its proving to be as painful if not more painful than moving to 9.2. We seem to spend a good bit of our time working around issues in the next new release that were not in the previous one..
    Any help would be appreciated I think we will open a support case but even that is more painful...
    Any help would be greatly appreciated..
    PS: We confirmed that all jars in the startweblogic classpath were in the startup. The server we have the embedded wlst instance is a managed server and we are using the component in a war... Are there any restrictions which we are unaware of.
    Error we get is
    1 [ERROR] com.tfn.autex.order.weblogic.QueueMaintenanceUtility.addQueue():217 Error Adding Queue wowsers JNDI Name wowsers Exception: Invocation Target exception while getting the WLSTOffLineScript path

  • Problem invoking gogle web service from session bean

    Hello
    I have developed a Web-Client which consumes the google-WebService with Apache Axis. I have generated the corresponding classes with WSDL2Java and the client works without problems. A little code fragment from my client:
    GoogleSearchService service = new GoogleSearchServiceLocator();
              // Now use the service to get a stub to the Service Definition Interface (SDI)
              GoogleSearchPort google = service.getGoogleSearchPort();
             GoogleSearchResult googleSearchResult =  google.doGoogleSearch(GOOGLE_KEY, // java.lang.String key
                           q.toString(), //java.lang.String q
                           0, // int start
                           10, // int maxResults
                           false, //boolean filter
                           "", // java.lang.String restrict
                           false, //boolean safeSearch
                           "lang_ja|lang_en", // java.lang.String lr
                           "UTF-8", // java.lang.String ie
                           "UTF-8"); // java.lang.String oeNow I have to put the Web-Client in a SessionBean. Therfore I defined the code of the web-client in a method and put it into a stateless session bean and wrote a client for the session bean. But when the session bean invokes the corresponding method for consuming the google web service, there always occurs the following error:
    [java] Exception in thread "main" java.rmi.ServerError: Unexpected Error; nested exception is:
    [java] java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: GoogleSearch/GoogleSearchService
    But I have definitely all necessary classes in my classpath, like GoogleSearchService, etc. So all necessary classes are available. And the code to conume the web service als works because as said I tested it with a web-client.
    Has anybody an idea what went wrong here? Is there anything important when I a web service is invoked by a session bean??:(
    regards
    pat

    Has nobdy an idea?? :(( I tried for such a long time but I was not able to fix this problem....:(
    Please help...

    Total Physican Memory, Free Physican Memory and Free Swap Space. These parameters are vary big between the two envs. Other parameters look close.
    Is this difference causing the process to fail in Test environment ? If yes, are there any other parameters that I can adjust to fix the problem with the process ?
    If no, what could be causing the process in Test env to fail ?
    Any ideas in this direction would be greatly appreciated.

    I am modifying the correct httpd.conf file on the server, it just doesn't seem to work. - If I put the rewrite rules in the <Directory /> the rewrite works but it adds /Library/WebServer/Documents to the URL.
    I also tried putting the rewrite rules in <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> but that did not work either.
    mod_rewrite is enabled and running on the server.
    I will post the rewrite rules again in the code brackets. Sorry for the long post. - If some one can try them out on their Leopard Server to see if they can get them to work, it would be much appreciated. Again, these work on my Leopard Client but I can't get them to work on Server.

    as I am using the wsdl.jsp file created using the Remote2WSDL function. Any help
    would be greatly appreciated!

    Sorry, have no solution for you, but I can agree we with your observations, that only document literal style services work in a predictable fashion. (In 10.1.3.1.0)

  • Problem invoking a web service

    Hopefully this is an easy one for you gurus...
    I couldn't read my WSDL when it was in wrapped document/literal format, so I changed it to unwrapped document/literal, and now my javax.wsdl.xml.WSDLReader has no problem reading it. GREAT! Right?
    Well, now when I go to invoke the darn thing I get this exception:
    org.xml.sax.SAXException: SimpleDeserializer encountered a child element, which is NOT expected, in something it was trying to deserialize.
    I'm trying to invoke the Web Service like this:
    Service myService = new Service();
    String retval = "";
    try {
         myService.setCacheWSDL(true);
         Call myCall = (Call) myService.createCall();
         myCall.setTargetEndpointAddress(endpoint);
         myCall.setOperationName(new QName(endpoint, methodName));
         myCall.setTimeout(new Integer(HdConstants.SERVICE_CALL_TIMEOUT));
         Object myArgs[] = argVals.toArray();
         retval = (String) myCall.invoke(myArgs); .....HELP!!

  • Problems invoking literal Web Services

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to invoke a document style web service.
    I've succesfully deployed a service using <soap:body use="literal" namespace="MyWebService1"/>
    as for all literal service i've declared it as
    public org.w3c.dom.Element MyService(org.w3c.dom.Element e){...
    in my WSDL i've changed message type from xsd:any or xsd:anyType to an element I've declared in the <types> section, cause BPEL do not accept these kind of types:
    <message name="MyServiceRequest">
    <part name="e" element="tns:MyElement"/>
    </message>
    i've called the service succesfully with a self-written client and then i've tried to invoke it throught a Bpel process... and it fail :(
    I've used a TCP monitor to compare XML envelopes and I've noticed a difference wich let BPEL invocation fail
    with my pure java client the mex produced is:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope
    xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <SOAP-ENV:Body>
    <ns1:docStyle xmlns:ns1="MyWebService1" SOAP-ENV:encodingStyle="http://xml.apache.org/xml-soap/literalxml">
    <elem>
    <numbers><number>11</number></numbers>
    </elem>
    </ns1:docStyle>
    </SOAP-ENV:Body>
    with BPEL call i get
    <soapenv:Envelope
    xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">

    <number>45</number>
    </numbers>
    </ns1:docStyle>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    the problem is the encodingStyle one = http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/
    the other = http://xml.apache.org/xml-soap/literalxml
    but i cannot figure how to change this, how to use the invoke activity to send in literal encoding style!!
    any ideas
    thank Lisa

    Hi Lisa,
    I am having very similar problem :) (RPC web service, but Element as parameter and literal encoding), so if you, or someone else knows the solution, please help...

    Regards,

    I'm using Weblogic 7.0.
    You must use two jars:
    - webserviceclient+ssl.jar, which you can find somewhere in the
    weblogic distribution, and
    - the jar containing the proxy classes, which is created by the
    tool jwsCompile when you compile the webservice (edited with Workshop). For this
    latter you may follow the instructions in
    http://e-docs.bea.com/workshop/docs70/help/index.html#guide/
    tutorial/tutFirstWebServiceIntro.html at step 8
    Still, if you happen to understand what my problem is, hints for
    me are really welcome.

  • Problem invoking Javascript from applet

    Hi,
    I have a hidden iframe in my JSP. While submitting the form within the JSP, I set the target of the response page as the iframe and disable all the form elements in the JSP . The response page contains an applet that pops up a window(a JFrame). On pressing the close button of the applet's frame, I invoke a Javascript method in the JSP. This javascript method enables all the components on the JSP.
    Now the issue is that, when I press the close button, the browser just hangs... This doesn't happen on all the browsers.. It works with Opera. In IE it doesn't work all the time. Some times IE just hangs... Any idea what the issue could be?? Pls let me know if the problem is not clear..

    Funny I've just posted something about this on another thread.

    You can apparently call methods on your applets from javascript.
    http://developer.netscape.com/docs/manuals/communicator/jsguide4/livecon.htm#1007749
    I know that most of the LiveConnect package works in NS4, NS6, IE4 and IE5, but I have always called out to JavaScript from Java not the other way around so I cannot vouch for this in IE.
