Problem loading radio station WQXR in iTunes

I have been streaming radio station WQXR through iTunes for the last month. All of a sudden, starting yesterday, when I double click WQXR or enter its URL, nothing happens. I can stream any other radio station without a problem by double clicking. The problem is not from WQXR's end because I can stream it through other software (e.g. wunderadio on my iphone). What's going on?

I had the same problem Friday morning, but evidently it's cleared up.
If you're still having trouble, you might try going to wqxr.org's home page and download a new MP3 file. Click on the "Other Formats" drop-down next to the blue Listen button and select MP3.
Hope this helps.

  • TS3212 Is anyone else having problems loading the newest version of iTunes (10.6.3) on Windows?

Is anyone having problems loading the newest version of iTunes (10.6.3) using Windows Vista? My current iTunes program version 10.6.1 keeps telling me there is an update but when I try to load it the information box goes away and nothing happens.  I have tried downloading the new version from Apple web site but it brings up a warning screen of " iTunes setup.exe is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer." I select the action of run anyway and get the next error "iTunes Setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application."  What Gives?

  • How Do We get our radio station listed in iTunes?

How do radio stations get listed in iTunes. Would be great to have our campus radio station listed.
    Any help would be appreciated

Forget Apple. They have nothing to do with that list - it is just loading a list onto it from the server that is hosting it. Heck not even the machine hosting it is located on Apple's campus.

  • Radio Stations listed in iTunes

Hello, first post, maybe strange question.
I want to use iTunes for listening radio, but there are only a few german radio stations listed.
Is there any way to seek and include my own favorite radio stations, if they were not in the list? Can iTunes somehow 'tune' to find my station?
Or is is better, so use 3. party software, anything which is good und you can recommend?
    THX,
    Steffen

You can import other radio stations into iTunes, but they have to be an Mp3 stream, as iTunes will not support AAC+ . Just go to a site (such as Shoutcast http://www.shoutcast.com) that supports the station in question, paste the url directly into iTunes or you can d/l the file to the desktop and import it into iTunes, as you would a music file. The file in question will be in your main library. I suggest that you make a separate playlist for all of the radio stations that you import; that way you can find the station a lot easier

  • Public Radio Stations Removed from Itunes??

I recently clicked on the radio link in Itunes to look for an interview that I had hoped would be aired on a public radio station.
At first the public radio link was there. Then I clicked on it and it was gone. What's going on?
I've seen threads where people were saying that Apple had removed some radio categories. Could public radio be one of them?
If it has been removed, how can I get Apple to restore this category? If it has been incorporated into another category, shouldn't there be a search feature for the radio stations so we can at least search for stations we want?
    Thanks

Once you find a station you like, you can create a playlist and drag the station to that playlist, just like you do songs. Then you don't have to depend on iTunes to have it listed. But keep in mind that some stations change their stream URL and some change to a service not compatible with iTunes.
Any station that streams has a website with "listen" links on the home page. You can always use these to initiate a session in iTunes (if their stream is iTunes compatible). Don't forget to drag the iTunes listing to a playlist so you can find it easier.

  • Problem streaming radio station

I'm trying to stream WBJC in Baltimore. (http://wbjc.com/)
They have a link for people using iTunes; when you click it, you have the option of downloading or opening the file.
I've tried both, with no luck. The file, when downloaded, is called listen.pls
When I try to open it, either via the link or my desktop, iTunes seems to be trying to connect to http://streamgeeks.com:15014, but no connection is ever made.
    Am I doing something wrong?

HI, I am having trouble with streams ever since upgrading to iTunes 9....I click on the listed stations, say Classical KUSC and it says it is acquiring the playlist and lists the station but when I click PLAY nothing happens....I mean nothing; the play icon just stays there with no result.
It seems as if a lot of people are having difficulty with the radio streams on the new iTunes.....I have not had difficulty before.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Problem loading albums from Cd to Itunes

When I load some albums (not all) from a CD, Itunes sometimes splits the album into a number of separate albums (with the same name) but with a single or couple of tracks on each one, the albums , how do I correct this or how can I move the tracks into a single album?

Oh and also I have played these CDs on Windows Media player and two stereo systems and they play fine!

  • Problem adding radio stations

I'm trying to add a local Boston station, 98.5 The Sports Hub (WBZ radio, a division of CBS radio). But I've tried to copy and paste the stream url and after doing so, I do not see or have any access to the station, it does not show up on my list of stations. Has anyone else successfully added this station? Perhaps I do not have the correct url or I might be doing it incorrectly. Anyone know how this can be accomplished? Thanks.

What URL are you using? When I go to the home page and click on the listen button, it brings up a player.

  • New Radio Station & Streaming Problems

I have added my favorite Public Radio station to my iTunes library, but I can not get it to connect. It shows up in the library as a radio station, but nothing happens when I click on the play button.
In addition, I'm having trouble with all the radio stations I've tried that were already in the iTunes folder. I've tried changing the streaming buffer size in preferences, but the network keeps stalling and needing rebuffering, regardless of the streaming buffer size I choose.

I single file in a playlist repeats constantly for me (just tried it - don't usually have playlists for single items), but I have never tried using repeat on an audio stream. I expect the repeat doesn't work with streams because iTunes never gets an end-of-file notification which would then tell iTunes to start again at the beginning - but that is just a guess.
What happens if you open the stream in Quicktime? If the stream is in iTunes library, you can open it's Get Info box, click on Edit URL on the summary tab, and you can then copy the address to paste into Quicktime's Open URL. If the stream is one on the default iTunes Radio list, drag it into your Library and you can then click on the Edit URL button to copy the address. iTunes an Quicktime are not exactly the same, so you may get different results. You could also try VLC Player". Testing streams in another player may help you identify if it is really iTunes at fault.
I usually don't have streaming problems, although I rarely have a stream on longer than 2 or 3 hours at a time and I think about 5 hours is the longest I've had a stream running.

  • Whenever I open the music folder to try to play a non-Itunes, non-internet, real radio station that I've subscribed to in Itunes, I get a page touting the use of Itunes to download songs and giving links and tutorials about that.  I can't get the stations

How do I get the list of radio stations that I've subscribed to, to appear when I click the tab for the music folder in Itunes?  These are real-life radio stations, not the Itunes stations listed under the radio folder.

  • ITunes radio; station contact?

Is there an easy way to contact a radio station listed in iTunes?
I really like Lolliradio Happy Station; Italy.
Would like to compliment them - can't find contact address.
Same goes for other stations - I'd like to give them my support.

A quick google search brought this up:

I recommend doing a google search for any other radio station that interests you.

  • Radio Station Favorites Add/Remove

    All,
I am enjoying the internet radio very much, but I have one question. How do you remove a "favorite" radio station once you have chosen it? I get the list always at the top of my internet radio choices and selected a few in-correct options. I dont see anyway to remove a favorite once you have added it

Is it no longer possible to add your own radio stream URLs to the Apple TV? On the first Apple TV, if you had added a custom audio stream in iTunes (using Ctrl+U) and placed it in a playlist, it would be playable on the Apple TV. And in the most recent Apple TV 1st gen software updates, there was an option to select radio stations from your iTunes playlists above the list of pre-loaded radio stations. Is this gone now, or am I just missing it?
