Problem, might be hard drive?

 The beginning of April, I got a new hard drive for my Toshiba Satellite L655 and bought recovery discs from Toshiba, after getting a lot of help from this forum (and learned a lot in the process). That was fine, I put in the hd, used the discs, worked. Then  tonight I started getting an error message (box came up I didn't think to write it down, it was something about an error and had to close, etc. Not the usual "internet explorer has encountered a problem and has to close" but the laptop is Win 7 and I'm not used to it). I shut it down, it came back on, did it again, finally Windows wouldn't come on. One time it said something about bluetooth (in the error) I don't use for anyhthing, that I know of. I came back on and worked for a few minutes till another error box would come up and I'd shut it down. CTRL, ALT, DEL wouldn't work an error would come ujp saying it couldn't show it) After a few tries, after the Toshiba splash screen, a back with white writing screen comes on,

 I have the Toshiba recovery discs and put in the first one in, and a box came up sayhing ERROR press OK to shut down.
 I've been going in circles about this, searched for it (found others asking) One place told how to boot into SAFE and click repair computer, mine won't  go into safe mode, I kept trying it, pressing F8  holding it down (just  get a loud beep) try tapping it, nothing, just goes to Toshiba screen than the black with white message I wrote above.  I tried going into the settings and changing boot order, still get the error starting it from the recovery DVD.
   Since I just bought the hd (new) from an Amazon seller (it said it was for my brand and model of laptop) I looked it up and it says it's guaranteed for 3 years.
    I don't want to write to the seller about this if it's something else I don't know (which could be a lot)  Not sure what it means by "check cable connection" seems like I have seen this in errors before and it doesn't  mean the actual connection (inside the computer) I don't have another hard drive to try with it, just the original one I took out when I replaced it, and that one had an error message (like it couldn't find the hd) which I figured meant it was no good.
 Thanks for any help with this. It might be clear the hard drive is gone,  Maybe if I could get the "repair computer" option to come on (in SAFE MODE) that might help.

That's what it was, I received an answer about returning it, and went to take it out and it wasn't plugged in tightly. Inbetween the hd and the laptop case there is a small space, seems like there should be something there to keep it from moving (I bought the laptop 2nd hand, but it hadn't been used much and I don't think the previous owner did anything like repairing it) I broke a wooden pencil to the right size and dropped it in the space, which should keep it from moving out again. I wonder if there is something supposed to be there that isn't? The Compaq HP one I had been working on before this had the hd screwed into a case (Ilike desktop ones have enclosures). I'm pretty sure the pencil will work and it's wooden, and not on any contacts so shouldn't do any harm. Wanted to write about this, in case someone else finds it, in a search. Maybe I'm not the only one who has strange problems,  that end up with simple solutions.
   I'm wondering now, if the hd that had been in it, that I replaced might not have been in tight enough? I think it said "disc error cannot read hd" or something.  That hd is the exact same one and size and didn't have any kind of case to hold it in (just the cover that screws down on top of it)
  Anyway, it works. And this is how we learn new things.
  If only everything in life would turn out to be so simple.
