  • Compiling the java file related to Servlet and Core java files in heirarchy

    I am working in Jakarta-Tomcat 4.0.4 with j2sdk1.4.1_01 and i have put all servlet files in package "com.java.servlet"
    and other core java files in package "com.java.action" . Also I am imorting java files in package
    "com.java.action" to the package "com.java.servlet".
    But when I am compiling the servlet files in package "com.java.servlet"
    then the servlet files are not compiling because it cannot able to import
    java files in package "com.java.action" . I have tried all the options.
    If anybody has solution then please respond immediately.

    I agree with the previous poster, this sounds like a generic compiling problem. FYI: I do not think that packages that start with "com.java." are special or reserved in any way.
    You are making a servlet, not a JSP, right? Since this is merely about compiling, you might want to re-post to "Java Programming".

  • Problem in importing package

    i am new to java and facing problems in importing package which are self made.
    secondly does JDK 1.1.3 can support swing

    Hi,
    I had some problems myself. I will add few lines, maybe it helps:
    OK, let's assume that you work in a directory. In this case, set classpath to this hierarchy as well as to "." ('this' hierarchy - like in DOS).
    Now, assume that you want to use packages MyPack1 and MyPack2. The source files of classes belonging to MyPack1 must:
    - start with command
    package MyPack1;
    - be located all in the directory MyPack1
    (and the same for MyPack2, of course)
    If you want to use MyPack1 within MyPack2, you have to include:
    import MyPack1.*;
    even though MyPack1 is, in fact, located on path: ../MyPack1/*
    (trust the classpath is important here)

  • Problem in IMPORTING!

    I have a problem with importing files.
    eg i have a file: Complex.java
    how can i use this file in another program (NR.java)??

    I have a problem with importing files.
    eg i have a file: Complex.java
    how can i use this file in another program
    (NR.java)??There are 2 ways of that purpose.
    1.If they are in the different and you hope you have your own function lib, you can define package in Complex.java, and import the package, that you can use this class.
    Example:
    if your CLASSPATH = .;E:\java;
    you must put you Complex.class in E:\java\mylib;
    //==== Complex.java ====//
    package mylib;
    public class Complex{
        public int add(int a, int b){ return (a+b); }
    //==== NR.java ====//
    import mylib.*;
    public class NR{
        public static void main(String[] args){
            Complex obj = new Complex();
            System.out.println("Sum is ",obj.add(1,2));
    }2.If they are in the same directory, you can use it directly without define package.
    Example:
    //==== Complex.java ====//
    public class Complex{
        public int add(int a, int b){ return (a+b); }
    //==== NR.java ====//
    public class NR{
        public static void main(String[] args){
            Complex obj = new Complex();
            System.out.println("Sum is ",obj.add(1,2));

  • I have problem in this unzip java codes

    hi all,I have problem in this unzip java codes,I think either the pathway that i put C:.......is wrong or the codes are wrong because when i run it, the zipped folder is not unzipped. So anyone has another set of example or know how to correct it? Thanks!Please post the solution here!
    This is the set of codes that i have:
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import java.util.zip.*;
    public class Unzip {
    public static final void copyInputStream(InputStream in, OutputStream out)
    throws IOException
    byte[] buffer = new byte[1024];
    int len;
    while((len = in.read(buffer)) >= 0)
    out.write(buffer, 0, len);
    in.close();
    out.close();
    public static final void main(String[] args) {
    Enumeration entries;
    ZipFile zipFile;
    if(args.length != 1) {
    System.err.println("Usage: Unzip zipfile");
    return;
    try {
    zipFile = new ZipFile("C:\\Temp\\FolderZiper.zip");
    entries = zipFile.entries();
    while(entries.hasMoreElements()) {
    ZipEntry entry = (ZipEntry)entries.nextElement();
    if(entry.isDirectory()) {
    // Assume directories are stored parents first then children.
    System.err.println("Extracting directory: " + entry.getName());
    // This is not robust, just for demonstration purposes.
    (new File(entry.getName())).mkdir();
    continue;
    System.err.println("Extracting file: " + entry.getName());
    copyInputStream(zipFile.getInputStream(entry),
    new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(entry.getName())));
    zipFile.close();
    } catch (IOException ioe) {
    System.err.println("Unhandled exception:");
    ioe.printStackTrace();
    return;
    }

    What does the program output when it's executed? Can you copy the screen and post it here? More info can help solve the problem.
    What exactly is the program supposed to do?
    Add some more println() to show the program flow and what the values of key variables are. For example what is in entries after the entries() method is executed?
    Some prep work on your part would make it easier for us to help.

  • How to import custom java jar/class into oracle to be used in java proc ?

    Hi
    I would like to know how to import custom java jar/class files into oracle to be used in java stored procedure.
    I am developing a oracle pl/sql procedure to call java program. The java program will be created as procedure and will be published.
    But, my question is that I do have a other external jar/class file that need to be imported into this java program.
    example
    raise_sal.java
    import java.util.*;
    import oracle.sql.*;
    <<reference other java programs >>
    import cmpmsgsvc.xxxx.* ;
    import cmpmsgsvc.yyyy.* ;
    import cmpmsgsvc.zzzz.* ;
    how do I import the cmpmsgsvc jar/class file into oracle so that I don't have any
    compilation errros on raise_sal.java program ??
    what are the steps to import/compile and validate to do this?
    thanks for your help in advance.
    Thanks
    rrb.

    Kuassi
    Problem is that, I have 6 jar files that are needed to be included in the main java program. And, there are more than 50+ classes, propertiers in those 6 jar files.
    It might be not good idea to have all those 50+ classes in the production database.
    Is there anyway that I keep all those 6 jar files in unix box (our's is oracle erp installation with oracle being installed on unix box) and just refer them in the main java program. I mean database will be loaded with main java program and it should able to refer other 6 jar files from unix.
    if we create a directory and keep all jar files in there and include that directory in classpath variable, does this works? or what is other method?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

  • H to generate popwindow in core java

    hi friends,
    i faced some proble in core java.h to create pop up window like in VB.
    with in the pop ,database fields should disply with jtable. when i click any one of the row.the text with in that row should display in some other text boxe. plz send code if any body have.give some views on that.
    ok bye.

    Thank you for replay, may steps are same:
    1. I have created Java Project With Existing Source
    2. selected directory with code (not whole project but directory with java classes)
    3. After that I have created UML Java Specific project and
    4. Associated UML project with previous created java project
    5. I have selected "Code Generation" check box
    6. Classes from java project were reversed into UML model.
    7. After that I have created new class in java project.
    And there is no Generate code action in this class context menu, also this class do not appeared in code automatically.
    From UML project properties it is shown that UML project is associated with proper java project)
    Same is with Java Application project associated with UML java project.
    Documentation do not talks more about this. Only same steps. It looks like code generation should be working but it isn't. I'm I only one who face this problem, or do smth wrong?

  • Problems with importing Iphoto

    Anyone having this problem?? I just got this computer last week and I scanned one picture. I tried to import it and the program keeps going and going and it won't import. But now everytime I go into I photo it asks do I want to import of course NO and here's for the weird part, everytime I try to import it the photo gets duplicated so now instead of 1 photo I have 10????
    I have scanned and import other photos after this and I don't have this problem.
    imac intel core   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    But this iPhoto Library came from somewhere else? Right? From another machine? So, how did those photos get into that iPhoto Library? Did you import one Library to another? I ask as this is one of the ways you could find yourself working with thumbnails and not the actual images.
