  • Whenever I deploy project to OC4J server by JDeveloper, disk space reduced.

    Dear all,
    When I deploy the project to oc4j server (inside jdeveloper folder), my hard disk space reduce. As I need to develop applications and deploy it to the oc4j server constantly, the disk space reduce and reduce (5mb each time), but I don't know why the deployment consumed disk space whenever I deploy the project. In long run, all my disk space has been run out.
    Do you all know why it consumes disk space when I deploy using Jdeveloper? How could I release the space? Thank you.
    David

    Check your temp folders. JDeveloper has the tendency to leave some ear and war files lying around, certainly if you are working with webcenter projects and portlets. On my machine, I created a script that runs at login to reclaim some of that space:
    c:
    cd %TEMP%
    del *.* /f /q
    {code}
    Hope this helps,

  • Embeded OC4J server within JDeveloper does not pick latest JAR files.

    Hi,
    Currently OC4J seems to be using an older version of JAXB1.0. Hence I created a shared library in my standalone OC4J server and imported the shared library while deploying my applicatoin in the ClassLoader task.I am trying to replicate the same in
    my embeded OC4J server within JDeveloper.
    I followed as indicated in readme.txt file in the \j2ee\home\shared-lib\ folder.
    1) I created a folder called "jaxb" within /j2ee/home/shared-lib/. I then created a folder with the name "2.0" indicating the version number of the API.
    2) I then added the relevant jaxb JARS to the jaxb/2.0 folder.
    3) In the server.xml file available under /j2ee/home/config/ , I added the following entries.
    <shared-library name="jaxb" version="2.0">
              <code-source path="jaxb-api.jar"/>
              <code-source path="activation.jar"/>
              <code-source path="jaxb1-impl.jar"/>
              <code-source path="jaxb-impl.jar"/>
              <code-source path="jsr173_1.0_api.jar"/>
              <code-source path="jaxb-xjc.jar"/>
         </shared-library>
    I am still facing the issue where my embedded OC4J server is picking up the jaxb version 1.0.
    What are the steps that needs to be taken to ensure that the embeded OC4J
    takes in the jaxb2.0 version.

  • Integrating java application running on OC4J server with EP Iview

    Hi,
         I Want to Integrate Java Application running on OC4J server with my Enterprise portal
    Can any one please help me out in this??
    Regards
    Padma N

    Hi Padma
    Its possible to integrate a java application running in the other server with enterprise portal.In portal i think there is a IView template call Java application template.Using this generally we can do this.But in you case what type of a java application is it?Just a class or webapplication or a server side application.This you can also acheive using a webdynpro applications as these are very flexible with integration into EP.In webdynpro you can use suspend and resume plugs to navigate from one application to other application.I have given my ideas how to implement.But integration mainly depends upon your landscape and version compatibilities and type of the application you need to integrate.
    Hope this answer helps you in implementation.

  • JDBC datasoure that works for embedded OC4J server of JDeveloper 10.1.3.4

    Hi all,
    I have this in the Application Module as JDBC datasource: java:comp/env/jdbc/DBCON
    That works fine if I deploy the application on Oracle application- or tomcat-server.
    On the connections tab in JDeveloper I have made a database connection with the name DBCON.
    But when I run the application from Jdeveloper with the embedded OC4J server I get this error:
    Unable to lookup Data Source at context java:comp/env/jdbc/DBCON
    What do I do wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Edit the <application_name>-data-sources.xml file under the root directory of your application, and setup a managed data source and connection pool with the data source having the correct jndi name, eg. jdbc/DBCON
    You can either do this manually (which I find easier), or use the tool within JDev
    Tools - > Embedded OC4J Preferences -> Current Workspace -> Data Sources -> New

  • How to write the jndi lookup for ejb using oc4j server in jdeveloper

    Hi All,
    i am new to the JDeveloper. i want to develop the session bean in JDeveloper using the OC4J server. how to write the jndi lookup in cllient. what are the xml files need to deploy the application. where can i mention the JNDI name in xml file. so please provide the information as soon as possible.
    regards
    ram

    There is quite in-depth information in the Enterprise JavaBeans Developer's Guide.
    Section 2 (Understanding EJB Application Development) explains the xml files needed and Section 29 (Accessing an EJB from a Client) explains how to do a JNDI lookup.
    Hope this helps.

  • On "Run" the OC4J Server tries to access the wrong directory.

    I have created a PL/SQL web service using the wizard in JDev. When I go to run the service I get the below error. Not sure why it is trying to access "/C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Desktop/jdevstudio10134/jdev/system/oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.42.70/embedded-oc4j/applications/datatags.ear" and then it obviously errors out. I have the entire JDev application to include the web service files in the E:\jdevstudio10134 and subsequent directories. Any help is great. I am sure it is something simple that I missed. I am fairly new to the web services world especially using JDev to create them. Thanks in advance....

    Debuggee process paused.

    Well it seems from your error message that JDeveloper is trying to create this directory here:
    C:/Documents and Settings/cyounger/Desktop/jdevstudio10134/jdev/system/oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.42.70/embedded-oc4j/applications/datatags.ear
    This is probably failing because of the space in the path (i.e. Documents and Settings).
    So the question is why is it trying to create the directory there if your JDeveloper is installed elsewhere.
    I'm going to guess that you either have an environment setting pointing to this directory (maybe something like JDEV_USER_DIR) or it is because you upgraded from another JDeveloper install that used that directory. If this is the case I would suggest a fresh install of JDeveloper and to choose "NO" when asked if you want to upgrade from a previous installation.

    ok - this is just wierd - I get an object back from the jndi context. .getClass().getName identifies it as an instance of OrionCMTDataSource, which is a subclass of OrionPooledDataSource which implements javax.sql.DataSource.
    I should be able to cast the object directly to a DataSource type, but when I try it throws a ClassCast exception.
    If I Cast to an OrionCMTDataSource then to a DataSource it casts correctly... WTF ?!?
    oh - and my ADF application is still broken...

    As you know CORBA is all about distributed architectures. So your approach should work. We put the notes in the documentation because we did not test the configuration you are using. Though there shouldn't be any problems, we just didn't feel comfortable claiming support for this configuration without testing against it.

  • How to run the oc4j server on port 80

    Hi,
    We want to run Oc4j on port 80 and do not want to install OHS.
    We hava a script, oc4jStartStop, that start and stop the server. It has following file permisions:
    -rwsr-sr-x 1 root root 1479 sep 6 10:29 oc4jStartStop
    When a non root user starts the server by executing this script we get an error:
    19.09.02 09:06: Error starting HTTP-Server: Permission denied
    Script starts the java process as follows:
    ORION_HOME=/my/orion/catalog/j2ee/home; export ORION_HOME
    java -Xmx400m -Dp6.home=$ORION_HOME/lib -jar oc4j.jar &
    Any suggestion?
    Regards
    Mayu

    In the file <OC4JHOME>/config/http-web-site.xml you can change the port number of OC4J to your preference.
    <web-site port="8888" ...
    Just change this to port="80"
    As for your other question, I'm sorry I can't be of any help.

    My question is why is it having trouble distinguishing between ojdbc14.jar and ojdbc14dms.jar
    as a result I am getting unexpected behavior from the Application
    Declaration in my code
    int mypidm;
    String sql1 = "SELECT SPRIDEN_PIDM FROM SPRIDEN WHERE SPRIDEN_ID = UPPER(?)";
    try{
    PreparedStatement pstmt = conn.prepareStatement(sql1);
    pstmt.setString(1, studid);
    ResultSet rs;
    rs = pstmt.executeQuery();
    //mypidm = rs.getInt("SPRIDEN_PIDM");
    This part of the code drops through i.e. rs.next() always gets a false result
    while (rs.next()) //evaluates to false so mypidm is always zero.
    mypidm = rs.getInt("SPRIDEN_PIDM");
    I am thinking that these two things are related.
    Any Thoughts.

    The tables are not created by default. You can configure your persistence.xml to define how you want tables to be created. The persistence.xml properties are defined in the TopLink class, EntityManagerFactoryProvider (oracle.toplink.<essentials>.ejb.cmp3).
    Set the property, "toplink.ddl-generation" to "drop-and-create-tables" if you want them recreated every time your redeploy. Note this will delete all previous data in the tables, so make sure you do not leave this setting on when you go into production.

  • Application is not running in IntegratedWeblogic server

    I have installed JDeveloper & Webcenter for my project development work in my windows 7 64-bit machine.
    Here are the versions i have installed.
    1) Installed Weblogic server (Generic version for 64-bit machine - wls1035_generic.jar)
    2) Installed Webcenter 11.1.1.5.0
    3) Installed JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0
    4) Configured the Weblogic server (along with webcenter components)
    In JDeveloper, I have simple application which pulls data from database (not involves any of Webcenter services). When i ran the application, the integrated weblogic server is started & running. But the application deployment is not happening.
    And I'm unable to stop the IntegratedWeblogic server also.
    Please help me in solving these 2 issues.
    Thank You.
