Problem running a 10g Forms in Windows XP

I download Developer Suite 10g (9.0.4.0) and installed it on my PC running Windows XP OS. I created a simple one block form using the Forms Builder. I started the OC4J. When I tried to run the form I got the error "This page cannot be found"
http://mypc.internal:8889/forms90/f90servlet
When I tried to access the Forms Builder 'On line Help' I got the following Oracle error:
FRM-18105: Failed to start the Help system
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Lamine,
i had same problem with you before, try to re-install developer(from the same source or other source of developer CD ) then try running test.fmx form using Run a Form on The Web, or u can test via form directly (check default URL form from Edit menu -> Preferences -> Runtime).
Hope it will work for yours,
Regards,

    Regards
    nawaz

    Hi nawaz
    From the menu design time:
1- select >Edit>Preferences>select the Runtime tab
and close to the field of web browser location - >
Select the Browse button to locate the IE location on ur hard-disk.
2- Run ur main form >Select Favorites >Select add to Favorites.
Then ,u have a link 2 ur application , u can drag and drop it in ur desk top.
    or use the existing link.
or if u wanna run a specific form locally then, u have to run the Start OC4J Instance to be intiallized ,and when finished working on that form run the End OC4J Instance to be terminated.
    Hope this helps,

    Hello Ady,
Hey not all of us have a religionok, I extend my statement to those with a different religion, atheists, agnostics and anybody who does not beliefe in a divine being of any kind ;-)
some of us are bright enough to be atheistsThe implicit statement of this is not better than greeting only users of a certain religion.
To the OP: I respect your belief, but we had the discussion about greetings in this forum before. To most users any relation to a religion is inapropriate and considered a violation of the Terms of Use, e.g. {message:id=9677530}.

I followed the steps layed out for configuring webutil in the users guide, I suspect the problem is related to signing the jacob.jar file.
    I signed jacob.jar using $ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil/sign_webutil.bat, I made sure ORACLE_HOME/jdk/bin was in PATH.
I received these warning/errors at this point
Generating a self signing certificate for key=webutil2...
keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Key pair not generated, alias <webutil2> already exists
There were warnings or errors while generating a self signing certificate. Please review them.

jarsigner: attempt to rename d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar to d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar.orig failed
I am running forms 10.1.2. How do I resolve this problem.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Jim
    .

Well, I think the problem is a permission issue or there is a problem finding the correct files. Let me explain:
    1. The first error is expected. Read it carefully and consider what you did to this point.
Generating a self signing certificate for key=webutil2...
keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Key pair not generated, alias <webutil2> already exists
This is expected because the alias was already created when signing frmwebutil.jar. Since the alias only needs to be created one time, this is expected and can be ignored.
    2. The second error is your real issue:
jarsigner: attempt to rename d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar to d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\forms\java\jacob.jar.orig failed
    My suggestion:
    1. Delete all jacob files including any which may have been renamed.
    2. Re-download the correct Jacob version as noted in the WebUtil and Forms documentation. Do NOT attempt to use a newer version as it will cause a failure.
    3. Copy the jacob.jar file in the same directory which contains the cortousy signing script (batch) Oracle provides.
    4. Ensure that you have (Windows) Administrative permissions on the machine.
    5. Open a DOS shell and change directories (cd) to the directory which contains the signer script.
    6. Set the PATH to include the JDK\bin. For example:
    SET PATH=d:\oracle\Product\dev10gR2suite\jdk\bin;%PATH%
    7. Execute the jarsigner script.
    sign_webutil jacob.jar
As already mentioned you can ignore messages which suggest that the alias already exists. However, pay attention to any others.
    8. Assuming it works correctly, copy jacob.jar to ..\forms\java
    9. Clear the JAR cache from whichever JRE (Jinitiator) you are using.
    10. Retest

    Hi friends,
I have installed weblogic 10.3.4, Oracle Fusion Middleware Forms 11g 11.1.4 version....

I use the following steps to run the form
    1. WLS_FORMS
    start -> programs - > Oracle Classic Instance - asinst_1_FR1 - > Forms Services -> Start Weblogic Server - WLS_FORMS
it is successfully running - showing the Running Mode
    2. open the form bulider and connect to the database.
    3. in form builder runtime path is - http://localhost:9001/forms/frmservlet
    4. When i click on run button web page was invoked... but nothing is coming... blank page is displayed..
Please tell me how to run the form.... Am trying the test.fmx which is in D:\Oracle\Middleware\as_1\forms.
My system configuration in 2gb ram, windows Xp ser 2 , 2.4ghz processor...
    Regards
    Deepak Kumar H.R.

    Do the following:
    1. As Sarah mentioned, ensure that you have JRE 1.6.0_12 or newer installed.
    2. In the Builder, ensure that you have entered both the Application Server URL and Web Browser Location values. Neither of these fields should be left blank. The browser location should be the complete path to the desired browser and include the exe name. For example if you were going to use IE it would look like this:
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE
These settings are found in the Builder under EDIT > PREFERENCES > RUNTIME

  • Problem running CalendarWidget sample form

I am trying to get the CalendarWidget sample form with the calendar PJC to run on my pc. I can run the form from my forms developer (v 10g), but the calendar "button" doesn't enable or show anything.
The implementation class for the Calendar_Widget_Bean is forms90.java.CalendarWidgetWrapper
When I go to open the canvas for the form, I get :
FRM-13008: Cannot find JavaBean with name 'forms90.java.CalendarWidgetWrapper.'
When I try to run this by opening the calendar_jinit.html file I get the following error:
    Java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: forms90.java.oracle.forms.engine.Main
The form, html, classes are all in my forms90/java directory.
The java console shows the following message:
    load: class forms90.java.oracle.forms.engine.Main not found.
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: \forms90\java\forms90\java\oracle\forms\engine\Main.class (The system cannot find the path specified)
followed by several lines ending with Unknown Source.
Ideas on what I might need to do to get this thing to work? I am no java guru and have been doing the registry and environment settings based on documentation that came with the demo as well as other posts from this forum.

  • Running an Oracle form within a Oracle 10g 10.1.2 Portal Portlet

Anyone figure out how to register and run an 10g form fmx within an Oracle 10 10.1.4 portal portlet?

I don't think you can register Forms as a portlet. We don't have support for that. You should be able to incorporate it into a frame of some sort or another. I am not so familiar with Portal but if there is a portlet type that takes a URL you should be able to supply a normal Forms URL and have it run in the frame.

  • Does this program have problems running under Parallels / XP ?

I have no problem running this same program under Windows 7, but just tried running it under Parallels/Windows XP. I imported a Photoshop file and I get the "file not found" images for my layers and then when I try to run it for the heck of it, I get an error. This is what it all looks like:

    Argh!

First if you don't have Windows on your machine UnInstall the Virus Software, you don't need it.
You really didn't need to reinstall the OS the problem is with the Software, Word, and Chrome.
After you downloaded Mavericks the software didn't work because the developers of both Word, and Chrome have not updated there software to be compatible with the new Operating System. You will need to keep checking with both of there web sites and there support or downloads to see when they will offer a fix for there software. It is not the fault of Mavericks it is the Software.

  • Load balancing 10g forms - Connection from new browser window not supported

Load balancing 10g forms - Connection from new browser window not supported
We're experimenting with using webcache to load balance between multiple applications servers running OC4J forms processes.
We currently have one machine with infrastructure and mid-tier (BI & Forms) installed, which is being used for the webcache functionality, this is load balancing between 2 other servers each of which just have the mid-tier (BI & Forms) installation
In order to get this to work, I had to follow the instructions in the Forms deployment guide : http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_11/web.1012/b14032/tuning.htm#sthref707
The main gist of this is that you need to set the following in the orion-web.xml file in order that the sessions are maintained:
    <session-tracking
    cookies="enabled">
    </session-tracking>
This all works fine in most cases.
The problem I am having is if I do one of the following on the client machine:
    1) From IE6 / IE7 run a copy of a forms application. Then open a new window using the "New Window" menu option, and attempt to run another forms application.
    2) In IE7 or Firefox 2.0 open a copy of the forms application, and then open a new tab and try and open another forms application.
If I try either of these I get a FRM-92101 error, and the following is displayed in the java console:
oracle.forms.net.ConnectionException: Connection from new browser window not supported
From trawling various forums (including metalink and otn) it looks like a problem with the way coockies are handled.
Unfortunately the usual workaround is to ensure that the session tracking option in the orion-web.xml file is disabled.
The problem is that I need this enabled in order for the load balancing to work.
Does anyone know of any other workarounds or patches that might help resolve this?
We're using Application server 10.1.2.0.2 running on windows 2003 servers.

You were right. Carriage returns were stopping it from working (the document is laid out over separate lines, so I assumed it would make no difference...).
I've now managed to get it so the forms at least run, but they are all being run in the forms OC4J instance on the same machine as the OHS.
Has anyone actually managed to get this to work, or am I doing something wrong?
I did wonder if using an OHS instance on a machine with no forms installation would make any difference?
I had raised a support call via metalink on this subject, but they eventually came to the conclusion that the only way to do this is with a hardware load balancer (Despite several documents suggesting that webcache is the way to go (including the forms deployment manual)).
I'm at the point now of giving up and writing some custom scripts to do the job instead...
