Problem running app in default server (Jdev 11g)

Hi,
I am pretty new to Java/Jdev and I am facing some problems trying to run the application as laid out in the example tutorial from http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/11/cuecards/adf_set_22/ccset22_ALL.html. I have followed all the steps and when I run the application as mentioned, the following errors appear in the log message window. Can anyone advise me what to do next?

    Hello Ric,
    Thanks for the response,
    I have tried to set environment vars, but it was unsuccessful.
    I have the old version of Jdev 10.1.3 and it's working with the message "Could not canonicalize ...."
    I have found the following thread in forum:
    Unable to start any application
    The system11.1.1.0.17.45.24 directory is on the network drive:
    H:\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.0.17.45.24\o.j2ee\embedded-oc4j\applications\dms.war
    and not on the:
    H:\Application Data\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.0.17.45.24\o.j2ee\home\applications\dms.war
    I am not sure, but it seems to be the same problem with the embedded OC4J and dms.war, as discussed in the thread
    mentioned above.
    Thanks.

It started well. i STOPPED DEFAULT SERVER .Even that worked like a charm. I installed netbeans ide 6.5 and in tools i added this Application server. When i tried to deploy the sample project I'm an error like

I'm totally confused just because, when I first installed Application Server and made the default server to run, it ran, i dont know why now its not running now.
    In Server log file i could able to see the following message. I dont know what that mean.

    Hi,
    NoClassDefFoundError signifies that there is a classpath problem.
    May be you are missing some critical jars in your classpath
    for ex. weblogic.jar, jdk's rt.jar or something else.
    You need to find this out.

  • Problems running Weblogic 6.1 Server on Pentium 4 with Windows XP

    Hi everyone.
    I've got a problem. I'm trying to run Weblogic 6.1 Server on Pentium 4 with Windows
    XP as OS, and when I try to work with the console the system restarts and get
    an error message in which I can read something like "big error on the system".
    Does anybody know if there is any problem between WebLogic Server and Pentium
    4 or Windows XP?
    Thank you

    We're you ever able to install WLS 6.1 sp4 in XP in a working fashion?
    WLS 6.1 sp3 works just fine on XP.

    SP3 was OK. The problem seems to be in the installer.
    When I ran the installer, I saw these weird behaviors:
    - The default value of BEA Home was "\\bea" (should be "C:\bea").
    - The dialog for inputting system password was skipped.
    - After the installer "finished", some directories like
    C:\bea\jdk131, C:\bea\wlserver6.1\bin were missing.
    OTOH, "C:\BEA WebLogic E-Business Platform" was created.
    - In the control panel, add/remove program section, the
    entry for WebLogic6.1SP4 was not created.
    The installer runs fine on Windows 2000. And I copied
    the installed files to my Windows XP machine, and I ran
    startWebLogic.cmd in myserver directory, it seems OK.

  • Problem creating reference heap snapshot with JDev 11g and OAS10g

    Has anyone successfully configured OAS 10g and JDev 11g for reference heap snapshots in the memory profiler?
    I have configured the server in opmn.xml and the client in JDeveloper. I can start the server and connect the JDev profiler and start and stop the use case.
    I do not, however, see any results in JDevelopers References panel, and I get an I/O error when stopping the use case
    "Profiler snapshot I/O error reading input file D:\profile\myfile.opi". This binary file is actually written, however.
    The Java start parameters in opmn.xml are:
    -agentlib:profiler15=port=4627,
    jarpath=D:\jdev\lib\profiler-agent.jar,enable=r,refpath=D:\profile\myfile.opi
    Environment:
    OAS v10.1.2.0.2,
    JDeveloper 11g, Techonology Preview 4 (11.1.1.0.22.49.49),
    JDK 1.5,
    Windows

    Hi,
    Thanks for the input, I'll refer my questions to that group.
    I can add that we have successfully profiled JVM memory usage and garbage collection on OAS10g using JDev 11g. See
    Re: Memory Profiling OPMN changes
    It's only the reference heap snapshot feature that does not seem to work for us in this setup.
    Thanks again,

    #### Cannot run application UI due to error deploying to DefaultServer.
    [Application UI stopped and undeployed from Server Instance DefaultServer]

    I was facing a similar error, the problem was because of adf-controller.jar. My error was :
    java.lang.IllegalAccessError: tried to access method oracle.adf.controller.v2.lifecycle.Lifecycle$Phase.<init>(Ljava/lang/String;)V from class oracle.adfinternal.controller.faces.lifecycle.JSFLifecycle$JSFPhase
    The jar's 10g edition has  (1st part)oracle.adf.controller.v2.lifecycle.Lifecycle$Phase and 11g edition has (2nd part) oracle.adfinternal.controller.faces.lifecycle.JSFLifecycle$JSFPhase. So I created my own jar extracting both jars at one place using the following command
    jar -cf adf-controller.jar .
    This solved my problem.
    Hope you get the idea. The best way to face these type of errors is opening the archive and checking for the files for which the compiler is complaining.

  • Problem running app via web start shortcut icon

    Hi,
    I need to install my application using java web start. I have created the jnlp file and when I run the jnlp file by double clicking on it, my app is starting well. Shortcut and desktop icons are being created. But when I double click on the desktop icon, then app does not run at all. In the log file , I notice that it is referring to some other location rather than the cache location and says "File not found".
    Same way, when I use an html file to run the app, then my app does not run at all. That is, the html file displays a link, such that when I click on the link, the jnlp file is run. But app does not start. Log says it is referring to still another location and says "File not found". Can anyone help me out...
    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, this is with IE as the default browser. But, the FileNotFound Exception is not raised for the jnlp file. Instead FileNotFound Exception is raised for other files/folders used in my Application.
    JNLP file is present in the web start cache. Sorry for not telling this clearly in my first post....
    Actually what I need to do is to deploy Jetty server through web start. Jetty's "start.jar" has the main class and this class refers to the xml files and keystores in "etc" folder in the jetty home directory. As I need to transfer them through web start, I pack the "etc" folder into "etc.jar" and transfer it. When I run the JNLP file directly, jetty server is started. But, running the web start icon does not start the server.
    I get the following exception in the console...
    "java.io.FileNotFoundException:C:\Documents and Settings\..\Desktop\etc\jetty.xml(The system cannot find the path specified)
    Is there a way to embed Jetty server in web start....?

  • Problems running Creative Suite over server?

    When ever I am working on a project in any of the creative sutie programs (primarily InDesign, Illustrator, & photoshop), I am working on our office's server. I seem to have a lot of problems with this. The most frustrating/problamatic situation is when I go to save a photoshop file I might be working on, a pop-up appears saying I don't have permission to save, the file then disappears completely off our server, I then I have to resave as though this is is new file. Most of the time this is not such a big deal. But on occassion this will happen and our system will crash forcing us to shut down or quit photoshop. As photoshop has no recovery we essentially lose that file. Permanently. Now obviously we run time machine and can retrieve the file (usually) but not without a great deal of work lost.
    Another problem we seem to run into is when we go to package an InDesign file it will crash the entire system if I try to package it to the server, but will be fine if I just package it to my desktop.
    Our tech guy says this is a common problem, because "Adobe doesn't work very well running over a server". Is this true? Is there a work around or solution if it is? Because I find it hard to believe that the design community would put up with this. It's just a horrible way to do business.

  • Problem running "owsctl" (Oracle application server)

    Hello everybody,
    I installed Oracle Application Server v. 4.0.8.2 for Sparc Solaris, it seems that all worked right (no error messages on logs files), but to complete the installation is necessary run the command "owsctl start -nodemgr", it4s to start up the web server manager, but it fails, when I run this command I get the next message:
    "ld.so.1: oraweb: fatal error: libCrun.so.1: file or directory not found"
    I don4t know it is a problem with the Operating System, C libraries or something like that..
    If you know some solution for this problem let me know it ..I'll apreciate it.
    Thanks in advance..

    The warning has to do with font support by your X server, and can be ignored.

  • Problem running app outside it's directory

    Hi
    I wrote an application that uses System.getProperty("user.dir") to get the path to it's directory. I need it to read certain files on app startup, and also save configuration (everything in the program directory).
    Now as it turns out I cannot start the application outside it's directory. Under Windows links work ok so it's not a problem, but on linux running the app thru a symbolic/hard link when I am not in the application directory is not possible.
    Also under windows I wanted to associate my app with a certain file type. Everything works ok when I run it from inside the application directory and give a full path to the file I want to open (myapp F:\somedir\file), but when I go to the file directory (F:\somedir\ - which is not where I have my application) and try to open it with my app - my app just crashes, sort of like on Linux when using links. It also creates certain files there (in F:\somedir\ for this example) that should be created in the program directory.
    Is there anyway I can get around this (and not make my application less cross-platform)?
    Thanks in advance
    mike

    I think a better way to do it is to not use "user.dir"; you've already correctly concluded that you don't want hard paths to directories.
    A better solution is to use the class loader and its getResourceAsStream method to get an InputStream for those files you want to read.
    For writing, create a /tmp directory or have a path that you can configure externally.
    What is it you're saving? "everything in the program directory" isn't very descriptive. Do you really need a relational database instead?
    As far as file types go, use a FilenameFilter to choose a particular type.

  • Problem running app when released

    Hi,
    I have created a windows application that calls an oracle procedure returning 2 ref cursors
    The application works perfectly fine on the manchine I have developed it on but when I release to my other machine it does not work and I get the following error.
    Object reference not set an instance of an object
    I have installed the same version of ORACLE DATA PROVIDER FOR .NET 11.1.0.6.20 as on my development machine. I have also done some test to check the app is connecting to the database which it is. The lines which are causing the problem are in bold.
    ' Connect
    Dim con As OracleConnection = Connect(oradb)
    ' Set the command
    Dim cmd As New OracleCommand("QUEUE_CALLS_PKG.QUEUECALLSPLASMADISPLAY", con)
    cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure
    'Declare refcursor and call public shared function get ref cursor
    Dim refCursors As OracleRefCursor() = GetRefCursors(cmd)
    Try
    Dim ds As New DataSet()
    ds.Tables.Add(New DataTable("refcur0"))
    ds.Tables.Add(New DataTable("refcur1"))
    Dim adpt As New OracleDataAdapter(cmd)
    adpt.Fill(ds.Tables("refcur0"), refCursors(0))
    adpt.Fill(ds.Tables("refcur1"), refCursors(1))
    'bind dataset to datagridview
    DataGridView1.DataSource = ds.Tables("refcur0")
    DataGridView2.DataSource = ds.Tables("refcur1")
    ColourGrids()
    'PlaySoundFile()
    Catch x As Exception
    MessageBox.Show("Queue On Load error: " + x.Message.ToString())
    Finally
    ' Dispose OracleCommand object
    cmd.Dispose()
    ' Close and Dispose OracleConnection object
    con.Close()
    con.Dispose()
    End Try
    Just in case your wondering why this is done like this is because I have a procedure returning 2 ref cursors.

    Resolved Thanks
