Problem running stanalone applications created to NetBeans 3.6!!

Hello everybody.I am using NetBeans 3.6 with j2sdk1.4.2_05.
I have implemented a jframe application and I would like to run it as a standalone application.
As far as I know there are two ways to run a jframe as a standalone application.
As a .bat file, inluded the "java <jframe name>" or via the Java Web Start.
Actually, is any other way?
When I try to run it from the command line I simple type:
     c:> java <jframe name >
and it returns me the message:
jframe.java:86: package org.netbeans.lib.awtextra does not exist
getContentPane().add(txtf_statusbar, new org.netbeans.lib.awtextra.Absol
uteConstraints(0, 210, 310, 20));
Do I have to include the org.netbeans.lib.awtextra package in my classpath?
How can I do that?
Thank you. I really appreciate any help.

Thank you.But...
The awtextra folder of NetBeans is located in "C:\Program Files\NetBeans3.6\sources\org\netbeans\lib". I included this in the Path envirnoment variable. The jframe is my a JFame applications(standalone hopefully). The jframe is located in j2sdk1.4.2_05\MyProjects\jframe.
I also typed from the command line the following:
c:\j2sdk1.4.2_05\MyProjects\jframe> javac -classpath . Program Files\NetBeans3.6\sources\org\netbeans\lib\awtextra jframe.java
and
c:\j2sdk1.4.2_05\MyProjects\jframe> java -classpath .Program Files.NetBeans3.6.sources.org.netbeans.lib.awtextra jframe
The same problem again.Cannot find package ord.netbeans.lib.awtextra
Where is the wrong?

What error indications do you get? You have to enable error logging in the Java Control Panel to see the details.

  • Problem running javafx application in web browser

The application runs fine when i build it in netbeans and run it. but when i try running it in a web browser, it displays a blank square!
the following is the html page that netbeans generated:

  • Having problem running an application

I have recently installed jdk 1.2.2 and i have no problem running applet but when i try to run an application i get the message 1 error can't find<filename> . java.
The path in autoexec.bat is fine. JRE File is include in my file jdk1.2.2.
I have installed and deinstalled it a couple of time and can't make it work.
    Could someone help me please!!
    Thanking you in advance!

doesn't sound like a path problem at all. you say when you try to RUN the app you get a message can't find filename.java. When you're running the app you run the binary class file i.e. java MainClass.class. If you're compiling the app you would do javac MainClass.java. Clarify your situation further if this does not help you out.

  • Problem running Sample Application after intalling patch set 4.0.2.00.07

We just applied the patch set 4.0.2.00.07 on our TEST environment APEX4.0.

  • Is there a problem running Java applications on my mac?

I am trying to set up a new website, and am therefore trying to upload photos.  I get a warning message saying:
"this application will run with unrestricted access which may put your computer and personal information at risk.  Run this application only if you trust the location and publisher above." and
"This application will be blocked in a future Java security update because the JAR file manifest does not contain the Permissions attribute.  Please contact the Publisher for more information"
Does anyone have any advice for me?

There is no official iBook app for the Mac, but there are plenty of applications for reading a variety of ebook formats as above.  Another is Calibre, which can read the ePub format that is used for iBooks.  The software is free, take a look here:

  • Problems running Java Application. Prease Help Me!!

I've just finished a java application to my University, I used Forte for Java and the Timer that comes with it, it works fine, but, when I try to run it from outside Forte, it's just impossible, I even create a .jar file(with Forte 4), but when I try to run it from Forte, it tells me this:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/netbeans/examples/lib/timerbean/TimerListener
    Exception in thread "main"
it seems that it's a problem with the Timer, why??
And when I try to run it from the explorer (Windows), by double clicking the file, it tells me:
    Java Virtual Machine Launcher
Could not find the main class. Program will exit!
But how is that possible??, it works fine with Forte. That's my problem, I need to take it to the teacher, but I can only run it from Forte now. What can I do??? Any suggestions?. I Hope that somebody can help me, please.

This sounds like a problem with the classpath. I was facing similar error with another application. Finally I ended up unzipping the class files and putting them in a directory that was in my class path.
Or you could explicitly specily your classpath.
Say your application (called app) is in c:\java\app and your classes are located in c:\java\classes\ where classes is directory run it like:
    c:\java>java -cp c:\java\classes[;second path] app
    hopefully it works.

  • Any problems running Windows 7-created help output on Windows XP machines?

    Hi,
I feel a bit silly even asking this, but I'm not a coder and don't have the technical knowledge to know for sure that it's a silly question.
Background: We are upgrading to Windows 7 from XP in the near future. We will be using RoboHelp 10 and Word 2010 - at least that's the plan ...
For our department's major product, since it's big and has been around a long time, we are still stuck using RoboHelp for Word to generate WinHelp. We then use the RHelp for Word source to generate WebHelp, since some modules of the product require WinHelp, some require HTML pages, and much of the source material is needed in both outputs. And yes, I did read someone's post likening this process to drinking coffee while running a sprint - believe me, if I had any choice about this I wouldn't be doing it. If RoboHelp has added the capability to generate WinHelp from RoboHelp HTML, let me know  .
Anyway, because of previous weird experiences after upgrades, I am being asked to find out: Has anyone used RoboHelp for Word to generate help output -  .hlp or .chm or HTML pages - on a Windows 7 machine and tested it on a Windows XP machine? If so, were any problems observed?
Assuming we can still creak along with RoboHelp 10 to generate the same antiquated output ... which we can, right?? ... my gut tells me that a file is a file and I can't see why an .hlp file or web-based help files that run on Windows 7 wouldn't run on XP. But again, I don't have the technical knowledge to say this for certain.
Any advice appreciated. Thank you - Sandy

Creating an output on a later OS does not affect its ability to be used an older OS. The issue, as you know, is creating winhelp to be used on Windows 7 or 8. That forces each user to download a file to support winhelp.

    Some more info,
I watched the web server logs and I found many repeated log entries like
    "GET /applet/myapplet.html/META-INF/services/javax.xml.stream.XMLInputFactory HTTP/1.1" 404 19023 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (Windows 7 6.1) Java/1.7.0_09"
Googling this I've found many posts regarding similar problems:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7997566/web-service-client-applet-keeps-asking-for-meta-inf-services-javax-xml-ws-sp
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2340969/applet-served-by-java-web-start-resources-requested-to-web-server-before-look-i
It seems to be a strange Behaviour of the JNLPClassLoader that tries to load classes from server instead from jar or local class path.
Somebody suggests to remove all logging entries from code or to add "codebase_lookup = false" to applet parameters but this does not solve the problem.
I use FXML to define my UI and I think that every time an fxml is loaded JNLPClassLoader tries to load the xml parser (javax.xml.stream.XMLInputFactory)
    from server.
    Somebody have any idea?
    Thank you.

  • Problems running Air Applications

3 days ago, I was running inCombat 4e perfectly fine, without any issues.
Yesterday, I installed this app, it worked fine for a while. I closed it down and went to start it up later. That's when the problems started. I get the license agreement screen(pic), and when I click "I Agree", that screen closes and nothing happens. At all.
I uninstalled Air and the 2 apps I use, restarted and tried to reinstall, but I get the same issue. I'm running Windows 7, Pentium Dual Core 2.2 GHz laptop with 3 GB RAM.
Here is my install log file as well. Any help is greatly appreciated.

[email protected] have an identical problem. I run Times Reader and IHT Reader on AIR. After the update, when I launch the application, I get the license screen and when I click on agree nothing happens. I uninstalled AIR and the applications and reinstalled them. The problem remains the same.

  • Problems about creating an application client using Netbeans 5.0

    Dear all,
I have created an "enterprise application" project in Netbeans 5.0 and I want to create an AppClient to access the EJBs in the project. Since Netbeans 5.0 did not contain automatic support for AppClients. I need to do some configurations to make it act like an AppClient. (I am forced to use version 5.0 but not 5.5)
After searching in google, I found the following article about creating an AppClient in Netbeans:
    http://www.netbeans.org/kb/41/app-clients.html
I read through the steps in this web page and carefully apply it to my own enterprise application. Everything was fine but when I cleaned and built it, Netbeans told me there's something wrong in the build.xml of my AppClient project:

So I started googling again using the keyword: file.reference.build-jar. I still could not come up with any relevant results.
Could somebody tell me how this error can be fixed or at least give me some clues what is the possible cause of this error?
    Thanks in advance.

I have forwarded this to another team member. Stay tuned for the response.

    - Port conflicts. (use netstat -a to detect possible port numbers already used by the operating system.)
    - Incorrect server configuration (domain.xml to be corrected manually)
    - Corrupted Deployed Applications preventing the server to start.(This can be seen in the server.log file. In this case, domain.xml needs to be modified).
    - Invalid installation location.
See the server log for details.
BUILD FAILED (total time: 1 minute 1 second)

Netbeans is unable to deal with alias host name "localhost". But it isn't the only local server.
Search for *::1 localhost* in your host file.
I have Windows OS so host file is in this folder
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
add *127.0.0.1 localhost* to the hosts file above the existing entry
    Should look like this:
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    ::1 localhost
Stop server and close netbeans (if not already done).
Restart and test. Server startup should be quicker.

I'm having problems with JavaFX applications run on raspberry pi. I did all the steps of the videos of the course: overclocking, uncommented what I had to uncomment about the framebuffer but Exceptions are still happening. The Fireworks demo example does not work. Someone went through this problem? Java applications are ok. As the versions of java in netbeans project and also on "properties" and they are all JDK 8. So if someone can give a hint, I'm very grateful!

Can you provide the exceptions you got so I can help you better?
Would you like to do a coaching session for this?
