Problem unpacking NWDS Stack 9 Patch 1

Hello,
I've downloaded SP stack 9 patch 1 of Netweaver Developer Studio and am encountering the following error when I try to unpack the files using SAPCAR:
SAPCAR: could not open for writing ./J2EE-RUNT-CD/IDE/eclipse/plugins/com.sap.tc
.ap/comp/CAF/DCs/sap.com/caf/mp/mmr/reader/_comp/gen/default/public/com.sap.caf.
rt.bol.exceptions/lib/java/com.sap.caf.rt.bol.exceptions.jar (error 28). The sys
tem cannot find the path specified
Any help with resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Problem has been solved. Issue was caused by following the Installation guide and trying to unpack both the J2EE engine and Netweaver Developer Studio into the same directory structure.

Permission problem when trying to patch the kernel

Hello, my name is Rodrigo and I have a VAIO laptop. The problem with it is that it has soo many privative components that are very hard to get to work under Linux. Fortunately, I found a project http://code.google.com/p/vaio-f11-linux/, which aims to provide full suport to VAIOs in Linux.
In order to do this I had to patch the Kernel http://code.google.com/p/vaio-f11-linux … nelSupport
So I started to follow the instructions.
1) I downloaded from kernel.org the lastest stable release (2.6.39)
2) I made cd /usr/src/linux and unpacked the tar contnents from the kernel file into this directory
3) I made "sudo curl http://www.absence.it/vaio-acpi/source/ … 6.39.patch | patch p1" and I got this:
patching file include/linux/sonypi.h
patch: **** Can't rename file /tmp/poSN3DW6 to include/linux/sonypi.h : Permission denied
I don't know if I'm the problem or if the patch is "bad".I already submitted the problem to the Issues page from the project, but maybe I made something wrong, any help would be apreciated

I don't think sudo was meant for strange things like downloading a patch and then piping it into the patch command. If you want that to work, you should either run "su" to make sure you are root beforehand, or split up the commands like so:
sudo curl http://www.absence.it/vaio-acpi/source/patches/vaio-2.6.39.patch >vaio-2.6.39.patch
sudo patch p1 <vaio-2.6.39.patch
The generic instructions for using this patch will probably work but it will be cleaner if you look at the wiki page for Arch's take on custom kernels.

You probably made the same mistake as I did and added the tables manually to the "sample" database instead of the "sun-appserv-samples" database.

URGENT Please: Problem after run autoconfig patch(Advanced_Inbound 5505631)

First I must say that I am new on applying patches on Oracle applications.
I have just applied a patch for Advance Inbound 5505631. The patch went well with no error. I check the Applications and the patch was already in place.
But when i run the autoconfig, it give me some errors and now i cant start APPS
One is that the concurrent manager don’t start(CONCSUB failed due to ORA-01017). I have change the xml file from GUES/GUES to GUES/ORACLE, but still no start.
I think the problem was not the patch itself, but other issue
My system is Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.0 and Linux

Hi Surya
The solution is very simple. In the desktop icon of NWDS, if you right click and choose Properties, you would find the Target text box which would typically have an entry like this "C:\Program Files\SAP\NWDS 2.0.19\eclipse\SapIde.exe" -vm "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_10\bin\javaw.exe"Even if you have unistalled the previous version of JDK and installed a new version, the -vm parameter doesnt get changed. Hence you have to change the -vm parameter manually and point it to the location where your new JDK/JRE is installed. This will resolve your problem and NWDS will definitely start after this.

[SOLVED] Applying bottom stack patch to dwm

I have finally moved to a tiling window manager and am finding it equal parts rewarding and frustrating. I'm using dwm-5.6.1-1.
I would like to apply the bottom stack patch but, after having read the instructions on the dwm site I get the following error:
can't find file to patch at input line 37
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
I used -p0 as the patch page states: http://dwm.suckless.org/patches/bottom_stack
I have also looked at these couple of posts to try and work it out, but the advice seems to conflict:

Is there a definitive way to apply the patch, or should I just skulk back to a simpler WM?

BEx Analyzer Problems. Advice on Patches

Hi.
We are having some probles with BEx Analyzer.
For instance.
1. Run the query in BEx Analyzer and it displays different results in RSRT than in BEx Analyzer.
2. Dates sometimes have the day and month the wrong way around from what is stored in the cube field.
3. Changes made to CKF are not changed when the query is saved.
It appears there are other numerous BEx problems and I need some advice for the best solution to deal with these and other similar problems which will occur.

your frontend is indeed "old"... we're on Support Package 8, Patch 1, Revision 1443
try upgrading the front end first... it might solve a lot of your issues already
also, the date problem... are you sure that's a BI error and not a "local" setting on some user's pc's (difference between US and European time zones for instance)???

Problems applying TP / R3trans patch to 700 unicode kernel

An error on Portal occurs after apply patch 23 of ITS 6.20. The HR pages lost the configuration.

Are the ITS services you are accessing from the Portal using stylesheets from the portal? After any ITS upgrade you need to rerun the
ITS theme generator for the used portal styles to update the portal ITS
stylesheets accordingly. Pleae refer to the following Help topic for
further information: 'Theme Generator for the Internet Transaction
Server': http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/af/807f72a20d11d5b580006094b9451c/frameset.htm.
Refer to the following comments at the Help topic URL:
'You have to regenerate or modify the stylesheet definitions for the ITS
under the following conditions: [...] If a higher patch release is
installed for updating the ITS components. Stylesheets are
release-dependent and therefore have to be adjusted if the ITS is
upgraded. This is true for the theme templates delivered by SAP as well
as for your own themes.'
ITS patches may include changes in stylesheet definitions, which will
result in inconsistent display between the portal and the ITS, and it is
indeed recommended to run the ITS theme generator after every patch to
the ITS. If you are concerned about this, please do it first on your
test system, or alternatively you can assign a different theme to a test
user, run the ITS theme generator for that theme, and test the
behaviour.

Problem with queues / stacks for a project

I have to code a calculator that turns an infix expression, where the operator is in the middle, to a postfix expression, where the operators are at the end;
so, for instance, 5 + 5 would really be 5 5 +, and 5 + 5 * 5 / 5 would be 5 5 5 5 + * /.
I've gotten the addition and subtraction working fine, the only problem comes when I have to take into account order of operations (so far).
So, that being said, here is the code:

Management console problem after installing recommended patch cluster

Hello everyone.
I just got a new SUN 440 server, it didn't come with the solaris os installed and so I installed solaris 9 12/03 to it. The installation went fine and I could start the management console with no problems at all. Then I went to sunsolve.sun.com to download the latest recommended patch clusters for solaris 9 (this was yesterday Sept.-06-2006), I downloaded the file, checked it with md5sum, unzipped it, went to single user mode and ran the install_patch script. After the patch cluster finished installing I rebooted the server for the patches to take effect, I logged in, tried to run console management 2.1 and it starts OK but I cannot use any services it offers because it says (in the console events):
"Server Not Running: no solaris management console server was available on the specified server. Please ensure there is a Solaris Management Console server available on the specified host and that it is running"
When I click on "See Exception" I get (for a particular service that is... in this case com.sun.admin.fsmgr.client.VFsMgr - for managing file systems):
java.rmi.RemoteException: Server RMI is null:
at sun.com.management.viperimpl.client.ViperClient.lookupServer(ViperClient.java:376)and so on...
I already checked that the service is running on port 898 and it seems that there is no other app. using that same port. I also restarted the service using /etc/init.d.init stop/status/start but I get the same results.
I don't know solaris very much and don't know what else to do, please help.

Problem with Exporting/Stacking in Lightroom 5.2

I have used stacks in Lightroom for a long time but I am now having a problem. My typical workflow is to process RAW images in the Develop Module then Export them as JPG files. I choose "export to same folder as original" and I check "add to this catalogue" and "add to stack above original". Until recently this has worked well - the RAW and JPG files appeared as a stack in the catalogue. Now, when I go back to Library I do not see the JPG files in the catalogue and there are no stacks being created. (I can see that the JPG files are appearing in the same folder as the original RAW files as I intend them to do.)
An additional observation is that stacks that were previouly created are not behaving normally. When I split a stack, the stack status is compleley lost - the number in the upper left corners are gone.
How can I fix these problems?

Capture Sharpening
Make sure you are using LR's 1:1 Zoom view when adjusting Sharpening and Noise Reduction. A Sharpening Amount in the range of 25 to 50 with the default 1.0 Radius and 25 Detail works well with most "normal" images. Adobe increased the Sharpening Amount from 100 to 150 to provide additional sharpening when using high Mask settings. You shouldn't need to set the Amount higher than 100 when Masking = 0. Even with Masking I've never required Sharpening Amount higher than about 75.
Noise Reduction
If you have visible noise in the image after sharpening, increase the Luminance NR from the 0 default. If color noise is visible increase Color NR as well. You may then need to go back and increase Sharpening slightly–It's a trade-off of low-noise vs sharpness. This procedure is normally only required with images shot at high ISO settings. Images shot at ISO 100-400 should have minimal visible noise at 1:1 view and require very little more than the default LR settings.
Output Sharpening & Resizing
With today's high-megapixel cameras full-size Exports are not required for most purposes and simply create larger file sizes. When resizing images during Export it is important to add 'Output Sharpening' to match the target usage (prints or screen viewing). This has much more effect on the resized file's image sharpness than LR 'Capture Sharpening' used alone. If you do Export images full-size for use in other applications Output Sharpening is normally not required.

Problems installing Development Suite Patch 10.1.2.3.0 on Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hi all,
I'm trying to install Oracle Development Suite 10.1.2.3.0 on Windows 7 (Service Pack 1 with fairly current Windows Updates) according to Metalink Document 1292919.1.
Everything work just find until I try to install the 10.1.2.3.0 Patchset (Patch Number 5983622) as outlined in Step 5 of the aforementioned Document.
During the step labelled "Copying files for 'Oracle Universal Installer 10.1.0.6.0" I get the following error message twice:
"javaw.exe Entry Point Not Found"
"The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL".
I acknowledged both of these messages and rest of the installation process runs fine.
I'm not not sure about what to make of these messages, will my installation work correctly or will I have to cope with further issues related to this?
My search on Metalink did not turn up any results related to the Development Suite. I already checked if there were multiple versions of psapi.dll were present on the system as mentionned in Documents regarding this problem while installing Oracle client 10.1.0.5.0 but there is only one.
