Problem using GUI_DOWNLOAD

hi team,
I had used GUI_DOWNLOAD to download data to excel.
I had one field which i had declared it as char.
while downloading to excel the value is showing as 111111E+2. but i dont want like this , i want the whole number to be shown in the excel

The problem is that the field value in the internal table you are passing to the FM GUI_DOWNLOAD is a floating field.
The Solution would be :
Before passing the values to the Internal table(to be passed to the FM GUI_DOWNLOAD), you need to convert this floating field to character value. You can use the FM FLTP_CHAR_CONVERSION for this purpose.

and give that internal table to fieldnames it will resolve the problem.

Problem with Gui_download using ASC File type - japanese characters

Hi,
During upgrade,while downloading data for japanese characters using GUI_DOWNLOAD Function module with file type as 'ASC', the space between 2 fields data getting much wider compared to 4.6C Version ws_download Function module's data.
Example: the gap between first field data and second field data in ECC 6.0 is 6 characters length,but in 4.6C it is 2 characters length.
Is there any possibility to get the results similar to 4.6c version.Please give your valueable suggestions.

Please find the detailed information for your questions.
1.Internal table content before download:During Debugging,it was observed that internal table content was same in both versions.For testing,i used only brand new data(Transaction entry).
2.Download with code Page conversion:Yes,codepage parameter 4103 was explicitly passed into GUI_DOWNLOAD Function module.Also the front end code page which is used by system is 4110 . No errors occured.
3.System is an Unicode system only.
4.Actually this 6 character does not refer the byte value,only the gap between 2 fields data is getting referred in ECC 6.0.Please find the below example.
Example - File data after Download:
ECC 6.0: Field1            Field2      (gap - 6 characters space between 2 fields data) Using GUI_Download
data       u0152©Ïu201DÔu2020      EN
     4.6C: Field1            Field2       (gap - 2 characters space between 2 fields data) Using WS_Download

Problem on zero's while using gui_download

Hi,
While downloading the internal table content for ex. 000010 to Excel sheet by using GUI_DOWNLOAD , zeros are truncated and becomes 10(in this case).
Is it any possible way to get as like 000010?

Download Arabic text using GUI_DOWNLOAD

Hi Experts,
I am using GUI_DOWNLOAD to download the contents of an internal table to a local text (.txt) file. The internal table contain Arabic characters also. The Arabic characters appear as # in the downloaded text file.
Please help to resolve this issue.

I have a requirement on which I am using GUI_DOWNLOAD for downloading a file into a network Drive.In the foreground I am executing using ITS.When I click on 'SUBMIT' button it goes to "Interpreter failed ...Internal error code: 0x2101".Till the point of GUI_DOWNLOAD its working fine.When I am executing from SAP system,its working fine.Once I execute from browser only problem comes.Have anybody faced a similiar situation and if so please help me.

this means that the template could not be found. I assume you are using the ITS 620, in the integrated ITS this error would result in an ABAP runtime error.
Ok, how to solve? Please examine the ITS trace files especially that one for the Bussiness HTML interpreter. Its is Agate<N>_sapjulep.trc.

Exception UNKNOWN_ERROR while using GUI_DOWNLOAD in POWL

Hi,
I am trying to use FM GUI_DOWNLOAD to download an internal table in POWL to an excel sheet.
Using GUI_DOWNLOAD I get an exception 6 = UNKNOWN_ERROR.
Can anyone help? Or should I be using another function module? If yes, which?

Error in Control Framework in smart forms programms use GUI_DOWNLOAD

IN VF02 smartforms ENTRY form , I add a function about save PDF at local PC. When I print the smartfomrs,There is ERROR message in update modules.
IN SM13 can see the ERROR message.

I USE GUI_DOWNLOAD FUNCTION at my code. WHEN I mark it,no error message. I must use the Similar function.

Need to avoid header When using GUI_DOWNLOAD with file type "DBF"

I am downloading internal table to excel on the desktop using GUI_DOWNLOAD with file type "DBF".
Internal table I use do not have any header.
But I do see the header in the downloaded file.
It displays 1 row as " F1 F2 F3..ETC" heading for each column.
Is there any variable we need to set to suppress header.

How to use gui_download 's filetype of 'bin'

I use gui_download to download the invoice data :filetype is ASC,the download file is .txt file with tab as the field 's separator.

I am using GUI_DOWNLOAD function module to downlaod data to csv file . I have taken FILE TYPE as "DBF" . After download , I have found data is downloaded along with a default header . Now how can I avoid Header while downloading.
Please help me to solve this problem.

Blank spaces while using GUI_DOWNLOAD for Chinese characters

Hi,
While using GUI_DOWNLOAD for chinese characters I have used a code page option of 8300 for Chinese.
The file which is getting downloaded in a notepad has some Chinese characters coming under some headings.
After that columns other columns are getting shifted towards the right.
This is working correctly for English characters.
Can someone please help me.
Now I am using CL_GUI_FRONT_END_SERVICES=>GUI_DOWNLOAD.
What special options should I pass now.

I only solved my problem by using different code pages 8400 and 8300 for Chinese and Taiwanese characters.
I fixed the lengths of the fields by converting them to hexadecimal string and back to string using these function modules as below.

Problem using File sharing in a small office network

I have a problem using File sharing on an Imac and Macbook Pro.
My office has a small network running Windows Small office file server 2003. I have one Windows 2000 PC connected to it and 3 Macs, an 2.4 gHz Intel iMac running Leopard 10.5.6 , a MBP running the same and a Mac Mini running 10.5.
From the Finder Shared window of the Mac Mini, I can see all the computers on the network. It also used to be the case for the iMac, but the MBP could never see the Windows PC’s, not the server or the Win2000. This wasn’t a big problem as I was communicating between the Macs and using the shared printer on the iMac.
On Monday Jan 19 the iMac was suddenly unavailable to the other 2 Macs. It was working normally on the Friday. The iMac can access the Mac Mini and copy files to it. The Mac Mini can see the iMac but cannot access it. Even trying to connect as, ends in a failed connection. I have tried rebooting, turning File sharing off and then on again to no avail.
The iMac now also cannot see the Windows PC’s which it previously could.
To get files from the MBP for printing, I now copy it to the Mac Mini and acces the folder from the iMac, a very tedious procedure. I don’t know why this happened and am scared that the Mac Mini is going to do the same thing.
All three computers are also running VMware 2.0 with Windows XP pro, and from VMware the server is visible on all the computers.
Any help will be much appreciated, I live in a small town in South Africa and the local computer suppliers have no knowledge of the Macs.
I think that the problem with the iMac may have started after a software upgrade to 10.5.6 but I am not entirely sure.

Well, you're current method sounds pretty good. But if you want to user a file server, hey go ahead.
What you want to do when you centralize project files is to keep track of which one is the newest and becareful not to overwrite files with the same name. So you either have to set up individual spaces on the server (separate AFP/FTP folders maybe), or you'll need to run a file checkout service.
The individual space is cheaper, but it's not much of a difference from backing up to the network drive. Since you have Gigabit connections, you might even opt to save ALL the user files on the server instead of just the project files.
If you want to run a file checkout service, there's two approaches. You can run a service that can host any kind of file, or you can run a version control system for each kind of application (Photoshop, Word, etc.). Please notice, that as you read further and further along, the methods become more and more expensive and complicated. Once you get to this point, it will be necessary to purchase or build software in addition to the Mac OS X Server package.

Issue in conversion of output file from alv to csv file using GUI_DOWNLOAD

Hi,
the short text description for WRITE_FIELD_SEPARATOR is "Separate Columns by Tabs in Case of ASCII Download", so why do you expect a comma?
Try SAP_CONVERT_TO_CSV_FORMAT and then download.
And no, GUI_DOWNLOAD is only for download via SAP GUI to a users computer.
