i integrate a file for javascript functions with this code

the first function i can use, the second not. Why?

The reason is i/we using firefox and changes in the javascript definition only checked when the cache has been cleared!

Problem using LIKE function

Hi Guyz,
I am having small problem using LIKE function . The problem is I am using LIKE function in the WHERE clause
to compare a column to a particular value, which gets this value from the front end. If the user has a single quote in the string he entered then the LIKE function is not working because of the single quote. Is there any way I can escape the single quote like we escape '%' and '_'.

Mod_plsql supports bind variables, as do almost all front-end tools that deal with Oracle (and most other databases). I do not code mod pl/sql myself, but others here do, and I see bind variables in their code all the time (if I don't, they hear from me :-)).
If you pass a bind variable, the quote problem goes away. As far as I know (which is not very far), you should be able to take the string with the quote directly from your input field, bind it to the variable in your query and have no problems.
I suspect that the reson you are having issues is that you are just gluing strings together to create a sql statement. this is the wrong approach.
The java term for what you are looking for is prepared statement, I'm not sure what the equivalent is i mod plsql, but that should give you a start.

Problem using javascript to submit jsf form, values not submitted

I have a t:selectOneMenu where I want the page to be submitted when they change the selected value. At this point, I am able to get the form to submit and reload the page, which is all fine. The problem is that none of the values from the page are not set in the backing bean. I have break points on the setter methods that are not being hit.
I have tried a number of things from searching multiple forums, but here are snippets from my latest version...

If I click the commandLink myself, the page is submitted with all the page values as expected. If I change the list value, thus using javascript to fire the commandLink's click event, the page is submitted with NO values.
Can anyone come up with an explanation for this behavior? Or better yet, a solution?
A couple other things I've tried...
- Not using a commandLink and using jsf's submit function -> onchange="jspellSync(); submit();"
- Clicking the link using other ways -> hiddenLink.fireEvent('onclick');
If all else fails, I'll just add a button that they have to click to submit the form.

I am having problems using javascript:confirmDelete

I have two pages created by the wizard, a report with a form. As you all know you view a list of records on the report then click the “Edit” button and it calls the form to edit the individual row. I have made a change to the action of these two pages. When you are on the report page and click “Create” you are moved to a blank form page. Once you have entered your new record you click “Create” and the row is saved. By default you are then moved back to the report page. The same this happens when you “Apply Changes” or “Delete”. My problem is that I have altered this behavior to return you back to the form and the record you just created or edited. This was done by editing the “Go to Page” branch created by the wizard to go to the form page rather then the report page. I also set the “Return Key into Item” in the “Automatic Row Processing (DML)” process to the page item containing the primary key value. This all works as I would like it to except for “Delete” it tries to come back to the form page and gives a “No Data Found” error. I would like it to just return to a blank form page or even go back to the report page. I do not know how to change or intercept the page the “Delete” button sends you to when it is set to use the URL javascript:confirmDelete.
I am using: Application Express 2.2.1.00.04

Chris - You need to create a branch on the page that goes back to the report page when button pressed is DELETE (Delete). Give this branch a lower sequence number than unconditional branches on that page. If you look at the HTML source of your form page you'll see < a href="javascript:confirmDelete(htmldb_delete_message,'DELETE');">Delete< /a> for the delete confirmation message confirmation action. If you check the javascript function confirmDelete, I think you'll see that it submits the page using the second argument ('DELETE' in your case) as the request.

I am not sure how to do this, I want to open new window from existing form,This is Mod/PLsql for consists some javascript functions also. When I am clicking on new window in form then new form should open with results of value entered,but new window form is opening with main page :( , not able to get text box value from parent form. How to call textbox input value in popup window from parent window using javascript?

this is probably due to the Javascript code and not a "real link" to another page... I don't know if the null is due to the Javascript...
But if you really really want to use javascript instead of a ... you can pass the location of the url with JSP (on your main page) as a parameter to the open window... (...) u can put instead of main.jsp <%= request.getServerName()+request.getRequestURI() %>
the value <%= ... %> will return something like test.com/html/main.jsp

Using Javascript function to change the value of a request variable

Have a javascript function that activates onchange within a form variable. Would like the javascript function to change the value of a request variable.
The javascript function is able to obtain the current value of the request variable ( which is 0 ) however I am unsuccessful in changing the value to 1.
I have been trying to use the following:

Any ideas?

If the user makes a change to the content of the form, and then attempts to leave the form, a javascript alert pops up giving the user the option of cancelling the submit, returning to the form and saving it.
If there have been no changes, then the user is free to migrate to another page.
This process is to protect users from losing valuable information but not to annoy them with "R U Sure" messages.
Knowing the status of the form content is important to the functionality of the application.

accessing the elements inside the form will be like this:

Using Javascript Functions with Flash 8

I wanted to know how to integrate Javascript functions with
Flash 8 created swf files. I assume this would be done using
ActionScript, I know some ActionScript but am not as familiar with
it as to be able to integrate other programming languages with it.
I'd like to be able to call other programming language functions
with my swf files.
The particular case I'm working on now is to be able to open
Pop-Up windows for display of web items from within links written
in ActionScript in a swf file. In other words, have the user click
a link in a Flash movie and open a window using a Javascript
window.open function that would be called. I would like the window
to contain more flash movies that contained further links to
functions. If any one could offer up some advice or point me to a
few tutorials and how tos on how to get the Flash part of this done
I'd appreciate it.
In a broader scope, a seemless workflow linking Flash output
files to outside scripting and programming functions would be nice
to know if anyone has links or input on where I can read up on
this.

Problem using jolt function checkAuthentication. chkauth:J_CHECKAUTH FAILED

Hi, I'm using jolt 8.1.
When I attemp to chek security requirements using the function checkAuthenticationLevel() of the class JoltSessionAttributes it gives an error.
I have previously setted the address:

Then it fails:

Another question in relation to Ago function; I need to get value/balance a year ago which is 12 months ago, and also previous year's last months balances; the problem is that Ago function takes only integer, I have tried to put a variable, Is there is way i can get balances of the previous year's last month because it will be much easier to get it using built-in ago function.

javascript tags.
for eg:

Problem using MDX functions in Answers Filter

I'm using OBIEE 10.1.3.2.
I'm using an Essbase cube as my datasource (aggregate storage).
My level 0 members in my Date dimension are of the format yyyy-mm-dd (e.g., 2011-08-13)
I have a dashboard prompt selecting the date from a calendar which returns the date and time (yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss). So naturally I can't do just a straight equals between the prompt value and the member value.
What I've written in the filter sql in Answers is: Date.Days = Evaluate('SUBSTRING(%1,1,10)','@{varStartDate}')
The log shows the following:

2) Is there a better way to do this? I really just need to get rid of the time portion of the variable from the date prompt.

Try this way..In OBIEE RPD - Physical Layer for level 0 members in my Date dimension. Double click this member and check its type. Change the type to 'DATE' from 'DATETIME'. Delete the Date Dimension in BMM layer & Presentation Layer for again drag and drop from Physical Layer after changing the Type in physical layer.
Normal way of building the RPD using Essbase

This shud solve your timestamp problem everywhere. This is one of the most common problem for Oracle sources. I have essbase as a source but unfortunately I can't replicate it as this is not having time level.

Problems w javascript function return true/false

Hi all,
I have a javascript function that return true or false.
It's called by a link in a report (URL-target):
javascript:return showForr(&APP_ID.,&SESSION.,#PERSON_ID#,'#STARTDATUM#','#SLUTDATUM#');
With the return it does NOT work. If I remove return it works with no problem but then I can't "end" the function where I want.
Any pointers how I can achive what I want here?
