Then can u suggest any other way how i can invoke a batch file from html/jsp.I think what some of the previous posters wanted to make clear is that jsps are not the place to go calling batch files. Jsp's are normally the view part and don't actually trigger these type of actions directly. Call a servlet to do non-view things...
If all you want to do is execute an ant file, look for examples for running ant through java api. f.i. here

  • Executing batch files via ODI cmd line tool

    Hi,
I'm experiencing an issue when trying to run batch files via the ODI Cmmmand line tool with any agent that isn't the local agent. My call is simply the full filepath of the batch file. When I run with local agent everything works fine. However when I run with an agent configured in the Topology the process just hangs in the operator indefinately in a running state but never executes or produces any output and I have to kill it. Any ideas? The agent is installed on the same server as the ODI Studio instance I use when running the local agent

Sounds like that on the remote agent, the batch job is waiting for a user key input and hence it appears in a hung state. You can add try to trace from Agent logs and echo combinations to know where is this happening
In unix environment you can send keys programmatically. Not sure how to do that in the Windows environment.

You might improve your chances of getting help if you do two things:
    1) Explain what "not working" means.
    2) ChangeSystem.out.println(IOEx); to IOEx.printStackTrace(); (in the eventhat is in fact related to "not working").

    1) it's not "taking more time to execute", whatever that's supposed to mean.
    2) there's no other way to execute something. Not that you should every use even that way anyway
    3) whenever you start thinking of executing external programs from Java, start thinking of not using Java in the first place.

    Dears,
I'm using the following code to execute batch file from Java Stored procedure, which is working fine from Java IDE JDeveloper 10.1.3.4.

    String result = "";
    String content = "echo off\n" + "vol " + drive + ": | find /i \"Serial Number is\"";

    Can anyne help?

    Dear Peter,
You are totally right, I got this as mistake copy paste. I'm just having a Java utility for running external files outside Oracle DB, this is the method runFile()
I'm passing it the content of script and names of file to be created on the fly and executed then deleted, sorry for the mistake in creating caller function.
The main point, how I claim that the line in code where creating external process is the problem. I have tried the code with commenting this line and it was working ok, I made this to make sure of the permission required that I need to give to the schema passing security permission problems.
The function script is running perfect if I'm executing vbs script outside Oracle using something like "cscript //NoLogo aaa1.vbs", but when I use the command line the call just never returns to me "cmd.exe /c bb1.bat".
where content of bb1.bat as follows:
    echo off
vol C: | find /i "Serial Number is"
The above batch file just get the serial number of hard drive assigned when windows formatted HD.
Same code runs outside Oracle just fine, but inside Oracle doesn't return if I exectued the following:
    variable serial1 varchar2(1000);
    call A1( 'C' ) into :serial1;
    Never returns
Thanks for tracing teh issue to that details ;) hope you coul help.

  • An error occurred while executing batch. Error message is: There is not enough space on the disk.

    Hello all,
I execute a T-SQL query, which will retrieve large amount of data, however, I get an error message after a few seconde.
    The error message is :
An error occurred while executing batch. Error message is: There is not enough space on the disk.
Who can tell me the reason and waht's the steps to solve this issue ?
    Really thanks.
    Thanks, Jed deng

The other two posters suggested that the problem with tempdb or you data/log files. This is not the case here. The error message relates to the client-side of things. Apparently SSMS needs to store data on disk. I don't recall exactly when this happens,
but I seem to recall that the files appear in you %TEMP% directory.
I would suggest that your correct action is to clean up the disk. Not the least there may be a lot of junk in your %TEMP% and %TMP% directories.

Thanks Erland, I was not aware of this earlier. Now, I am able to find out one of the resons for slowness of SSMS gird. Also, I have just checked it with process monitor, SSMS is creating tmp%.tmp files..

I am experiencing a problem while executing a bounded model. I am usingQueryModelBase. Whenever the following query gets executed inonBeforeModel
execute of TiledView, it throws an exception describing "PLAN_DT not found
in ResultSet". If you execute this query on the SQL prompt then we getrows
of data. Please could you tell us how the mapping between model and
resultset works ? And what changes do we have to make to execute thisquery.
    >>
    SELECT PART_NM,NEWTXTDOLL
    TO_CHAR(PLAN_DT, 'MM/DD/YYYY'),
    FROM cpsselect
WHERE CHG_DT >= TO_DATE('2001-06-17', 'YYYY-MM-DD')The mapping of result set to model is done via JDBC, using the columnnames
you provide in your model's column descriptors. It sounds as if you are
providing the column name "PLAN_DT" in a descriptor, and when the model
tries to look up that column in the result set, there is no such columnand
    the operation fails.
In order to debug this, you should try running your query with a JDBC
connection, not SQL*Plus or your command-line SQL tool. What you need to
find out is how the expresion "TO_CHAR(PLAN_DT, 'MM/DD/YYYY')" is aliasedas
a column name in the resut set. The easiest way to do this is to write a
simple class that does nothing but use your JDBC driver to connect the
database and execute this query. After execution, use theResultSetMetaData
information to find out the column names for the result set. Then, use
these column names in your JATO column descriptors.
Another Problem:We are not getting the values for NEWTXTDOLL column whenwe try to display it in a Tiled View.
I'm sorry, this isn't enough information for me to offer any suggestions.
Using the technique above, determine which columns are coming back in the
result set, and make sure your display fields in the TiledView are boundto
those column names. The problem could be something as simple as a typo in
the field's bound name, or something more complex like the column in the
result set being named something you don't expect.
Another approach might be to alias the columns yourself using the "AS
<alias>" expression, and assign them names that you choose instead ofusing
the names assigned by the database or JDBC driver.

    Error: [Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle][Oracle]
    Code: 80004005
Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
    Please help!
    Shruti

You are using an ODBC driver to connect to Oracle. The error you get is not an Oracle server error. (so ignore the silly request for an alert log)
The error is from your client Oracle driver. It gets a TNS connection string (or alias) from the ODBC driver. This tells it how to establish a network connection to the Oracle Listener on the Oracle server platform.
The Oracle driver then runs into a problem and says:
    12560, 00000, "TNS:protocol adapter error"
// *Cause: A generic protocol adapter error occurred.
// *Action: Check addresses used for proper protocol specification. Before
// reporting this error, look at the error stack and check for lower level
// transport errors. For further details, turn on tracing and reexecute the
// operation. Turn off tracing when the operation is complete.
Basic terms - your Oracle client driver ran into a network error when attempting to make the requested connection.
This could be caused by a number of problems on your PC. Suggest you first check your TNS connection string to make sure it is valid. You can use tnsping (Oracle util in %ORACLE_HOME%\bin), e.g.
    C:\> tnsping "DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST= TRISHUL)(PORT=1525))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=BTFLVAS)))"
    See if this works.
