Problem while testing a ABAP Web Service

Hello,
I'm facing a problem while testing a webservice for the BAPI BUPA_CENTRAL_GET_DETAIL. I have opened the Web Service Home page, and I get no error. I fill in the input values and then when I send the request, I get back an error which says "Authority check failed"
Urgent help needed..
Thanx,
Anupama

you need s_service and s_object authorization objects in your role.
its explained in this document

  • Authorizations for testing of ABAP Web Services

Can somebody tell me which authorizations/roles I need to assign to a user with SAP WAS 6.40 ABAP so that he will be able to test a simple ABAP Web Service with the Java Service home page of this service?
I tried this with the roles SAP_BC_DWB_ABAPDEVELOPER and SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE_ADMIN but this seams not to be enough and I could not find a hint on how I could find out what is going wrong.
The user gets an error message on the top of the service home page when he submitted the service request:
"An error has occurred. Maybe the request is not accepted by the server:
    Authority check failed"
The service is configured with standard authentication. On the service test page the user gets a login screen which he passes successfully. The error occurs afterwards when the services test is executed.
    Many thanks!
    Best regards, Birgit

    Hi,
    1. log on to SAP system with user XXX .
    2. Do your steps to call webservice from JAVA Service home page - use the same user id for log on.
    3. As soon as you see the error message as you mentioned
Run transaction SU53 in the target SAP system . This should tell you the authority object where the failure had happend.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
since I did not find that BAPI in my system: what is the exact name?
Did you test the BAPI directly in ABAP, i.e. function builder SE37, successfully?
Currently it looks to me as if you did not provide sufficient business data.
Did you specify the employee number before executing the call?

  • XML Serialization Error- While testing BAPI turned Web service

I have a requirement to create sales order in SAP R/3 from an e-commerce site. I went through many forums suggesting "exposing FMs into Web Service". I wrapped BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 and BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT into one FM and exposed as Web Service. I did a successful test-sequence.
When I tested the web service without giving values I got a response asking for "Sold-to Party or Ship-To Party". While testing the Web service with some values, I got the below error -
XML Serialization Error. Object content does not correspond to Schema restrictions of type [urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions][numeric4].
The e-commerce team tried to hit the Web service and got the below error-
    IWAB0383E Error validating parameters
Note: Our servers does not have any ENHPacks. Only ECC 6.0.
Please suggest what might have gone wrong and how to resolve this.

I have created WSDL file through function module in SAP-ECC 5.0v.

    And one more things are
I don't know the exact reason, but now the WSDL is working fine. No Idea, will it be consistent.
No changes in import and export parameters of RFC and no change in code, even if the logic is changed it should not affect the output on SOAP UI but in my case it does.
Wonder why all this happens, I cannot explain the exact reason technically because my RFC works fine every time, only issue is with SOAP UI.
From SAP point of view FM is working fine, and input parameter of FM is optional, validations are done by the programming logic and it will capture the message and its details with respect to input data.
I am not sure SOAP will work consistently and we are using ECC 5.0 most of the t-code not there like "SOAMANAGER" and all.
    Kindly help me on this

  • Testing a ABAP Web Service in ECC 6.0

    Hi all,
I am trying create web services from ABAP using a RFC function module in ECC 6.0. Once the service got created and did configurations in SOAMANAGER also. When trying to test the service using the web service navigator it requests for WSDL URL and when provided the URL, i am getting the below error
Cannot download WSDL from http://tuasd06db.tuasw2k.tuaspower.com.sg:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_DE7C08A93E4CF7F1AF60001A64258BFC/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?sap-client=220: It is not allowed to access this service. If you believe you should be able to, please contact your system administrator.
As i am new to Web services, is it due to any of the configurations missing or any authorization problem.
P.S: All the relevant services are active in SICF. I have added a new UDDI service registry also. Have entererd the J2EE server details in the System global settings under Technical configuration.
    Cheers,
    Madhu

    Hi,
You need to configure the Web Services Navigator WHITE LIST :
    [SAP help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/b7/d7baaf1481a349ab723e3acd7334b3/frameset.htm]
    5. To configure Web Service Navigator White List, in the Allowed Hosts field, enter hostnames or parts of hostnames of remote systems, to which you are allowed to connect via Web Services Navigator. To separate entries, use semicolons (, you can use an asterisk (), or a question mark (?), as wildcards. For example, if you want to enable connection to all remote systems, in the Allowed Hosts field, enter an asterisk ().
I still have one issue standing with web services. Will appreciate if you can help me with that.

  • Handshaking problem while invoking a secured web service

    Hi,
I have developed a web service. I made my WLS 7.0 secured, using SSL. Also
    I made the
my web service accessible only by https protocol. Also I configured the WLS SSL
    to have one

Has anybody faced this problem ever?.
For one way SSL do I need to supply any certificate file or PEM file from the
    client to the
    server?.
    Thanks,
    Anish

    Hi Anish,
No, in this case the client is checking the cert provided by the
server. Have you tried the flag
    -Dweblogic.webservice.client.ssl.strictcertchecking=false on the client
    side?
Also take a look at the entry by Michael Jouravlev, on SSL "how to"
    http://newsgroups.bea.com/cgi-bin/dnewsweb?cmd=article&group=weblogic.developer.interest.webservices&item=1910&utag=
Have you gone through the simpleSSL example:

  • How to consume the Abap web service in Java web-dynpro

    Hi Everyone,
I want to consume ABAP web service in java web dynpro.
so when i tried to create model in java web-dynpro, it gave me an error message saying "Invalid WSDL or WSDL not found".
i think this error message is because, to access the WSDL of abap web-service, we need username and password, but the dialog box in java web-dynpro is not programmed to take username and password from us and send it to the server to get the WSDL.
i came to this conclusion because i was able to successfully test my abap web-service in java portal. the java portal asked me the username and password to open the WSDL.
So, please help me to consume the abap web service in java web-dynpro.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Vikas

    Hi Vikas ,
while creating a model in web-dynpro try to use the "import web service model" option and if you are using local server choose the local server option so that you can get the available web services which are in server, select one among them and continue you process.I think this is the some what easy way .
If you want use the URL for wsdl better to once test the available service in server and copy that WSDL URL and paste over  WSDL textbox.
I think this is pretty help ful to you

  • ABAP Web Service client proxy - generation problems

    Hi!
I tried to create an ABAP web service client proxy for many different web services -
for instance some of that listed at <a href="http://www.xmethods.net/">http://www.xmethods.net/</a> .
Almost on 99% of the WSDLs the client proxy generation failed.
For istance "<extension> not supported", or "<message...> must have at least one part",... .
Could anybody tell me what restrictions are to web services you can create a

In the SAP Web AS Java Stack there is no problem at all to generate a

Is the ABAP Web Service proxy generation for production use ?

  • Problem with ABAP Web service

    Hello Experts,
    Some unusual thing is happening.
Till this time my scenario was HTTP to RFC. So i have imported RFC in XI and its structure was perfact.
Tables having cardinality as 1...1, and fields were having cardinalities as 0....1.
Now we have planned to switch to the proxies and ABAP Web services. I have created the ABAP Web service with the same function module and imported it into the External definations.
When i am trying to use it into the mapping, Table cardinalities are 1....1 and fields are also having cardinalities as 1...1.
Now because of that i hv to map all the fields with some constants, but m not comfortable with it as there are nearly 1000 fields.
Do anyone of you have any idea what might be the problem? or how can i solve it.
    Hope the question is clear.
    Please help in this problem.
    Thanks,
    Hetal

    Hello Hetal,
This is happening because when you genarte the Webservice out of a Function Module, all the fields in your are mendatory in the generated WSDL.
This can be avoided. The WSDL that you have generated for your webservice, can be manually edited in Stylus studio etc to change the cardinality and make it optional. We also did the same in one of our scenario and it is working fine.
As you are mapping these fields with constants, so it doen't make a difference if those are optional too.
Just edit the WSDL/xsd and reimport it.
    Thanks

  • ABAP Web Services problem

Hello everybody. I'm trying to publish a Web Service created in ABAP (R/3 6.0 release) in my JAVA WAS trial version 2004s. I'm following the ABAP Web Services tutorials (6.40) but when I try to create the Virtual Interface, in the SE80 from the context menu of Enterprise Services, there's no Virtual Interface option. Can anyone tell me how do I set up a Virtual Interface in 6.0 release of R/3 or how can I make it available in the context menu of SE80? Thanks in advance.

Better try the methods get_asList... for tables.
