Problem with Bindings Inspector

When I try to change some items in Bindings Inspector in Interface Builder, all items disappear and the string "Empty selection" appears, both in old project and new ones.
I just tried to solve it by reinstalling XCode but the problem is not solved.
Till yesterday it worked fine.
Any idea.

This is the only part of your post that I disagree with. Interface Builder 3 has been flaky from day one and this is a common problem. You have to click on some other UI object and then click back on your original object. Yes, it is annoying. But Apple's developer tools aren't quite as polished as the end-user tools. Maybe when Apple gets done with the iPhone stuff they will improve things.

Problem with Image Inspector

I have instatlled Dreamweaver CS5. I want to insert a background image in a table. The property inspector only shows the background color change option. The folder option for selecting an image file is not showing. Is this a problem with the program or can it be added by some menu command?

No problem Gary. Happens all the time. Your code way is correct, but I've noticed a lot of people asking about the GUI, so I've tried to familiarize myself with it a little more and have started to understand the frustration of some of the more novice users. Some of these more common functions could be made more accessible and maybe the answer is a more customized CSS properties panel or a different CSS properties window altogether since some styling is in that "Properties" window and others in the "CSS Panel". Problem with Inspector pull-down menus

I have this weird problem with DVD Studio Pro all of a sudden. I'm wondering if a recent update might have broken something, and how I can fix it.
The problem is that certain pull-down menus in the Inspector are not responding anymore. Important ones too, like "set target" and "end jump," Remote Control functions, as well as ones I don't use as often like Shape (button shape?). I click on them and nothing happens, although sometimes the default "not set" text disappears. These menus are in the same place in the Inspector, so this may or may not have something to do with it, I have no idea.
At any rate, I can't make a DVD without these functions, and I usually need to make a DVD once or twice a week. Although it has been two weeks since I last used it.
I am almost positive that nothing has changed with my system since I used it last, besides Apple Software Updates.
Version 2.0.5, OSX Tiger. I know, time to upgrade, but I don't control the budget.

Just the Inspector, i haven't found any other problems.
Quicktime was updated a few days before the problem started. On May 27th I ran the updates for Quicktime 7.4.5, ProKit 4.5, iTunes 7.6.2, and Safari 3.1.1. I noticed the problem with the DVDSP Inspectors the next time I ran the program on May 29.
I understand the ProKit is for a later version so I'm a bit mystified as to why I was offered the update, however I've installed previous ProKit updates without any problems.
A clean install will certainly be my next step. But I have to wait for a lull in real work activity before I can get into that. Luckily I've remembered that I can accomplish a lot of what I needed the inspector for under the Connections tab, so it's a little less urgent now.
I'm usually pretty careful about running updates, and I usually ignore them for a few weeks (or longer) before I run the updates so I can monitor the internet for other people's disasters. But I got lazy this time. Maybe there are not too many DVDSP v2 installations out there. And maybe I need to increase the pressure on my company to update my software!
On that note, this experience is helping my case with convincing them to replace one of the old Avids with a new FCS suite, so it might become a moot point. Will the license allow me to operate DVDSP4 on a different machine or does it have to stay on the main suite, if we go that way? We like to process the output on another box, so the editors can get on with the next project.

Problem with function keys while using Terminal to connect to UNIX host

We are trying to use macs at my office, but we've hit a big roadblock. Our company software runs on a UNIX server, and until now everyone in the company uses either dedicated UNIX terminals, or terminal emulation software in windows. I was thrilled to learn that we could use the terminal in OSX to connect to the server, and it did not take long to get it to work.
The problem is the function keys. Almost all of the menu options in our company software require the use of the function keys, F1-F10. I was able to access F9 and up by pressing command-F9, etc. but we're now having issues with F3 and F4.
The computer in question is an intel macbook, and we have been using the fn key of course. The specific problem they showed me was with F3. In the software, it is supposed to lauch an extra menu, but pressing fn-F3 on the macbook results in an error ("number required", which is the message it would normally return if we tried to press return).

Your problem is two-sided, I think. The first is that you need to set Terminal to send the right escape sequence. This is done with the Inspector (CMD-I) and selecting Keyboard. Get the correct key mapping in there. The other side is to make sure the system isn't intercepting your intended keystroke, so go into System Preferences->Keyboard & Mouse->Kwyboard shortcuts and make sure that the bindings you're using aren't enabled.

Problem with TextInput and RadioButton

Hi,
I've encountered a problem with TextInput and RadioButtons.
I've created some text fields and radio buttons for a
feedback form under a movie _root.feedback.
But for some reason, I can't seem to enter text into the text
field (no blinking cursor), and I can't see the "label" next to my
radio buttons.
Just as a workaround, I tried moving these fields to _root,
and now I can enter text and see the radio button labels.
But to keep my hierarchy clean, I want to use a the
_root.feedback movie for my feedback fields. Any ideas what could
be going wrong? I checked Window -> Component Inspector, and
these textInput fields are enabled.

Problem with Application build in JDeveloper 11.1.5 to WLS 10.3.5

Analyzing the problem, I created a new ADF application with only a web page (index.jspx) , and deploy it to the WLS, and I access to URL of page and it runs !! ( http:localhost:7001/myApp/faces/index.jspx ).
But, when I ADD A TASK FLOW to the application and deploy to the WLS newly , and try to access to the URL application's ( http:localhost:7001/myApp/faces/index.jspx ) . It show me again :

Problem with Date fields in Search panel

Hi all,
I use TP2 and in my jspx page I have a search panel with two date fields and table where the results is displayed. But there is a problem with these date fields, because when I search dates the results is nothing even I retype the date from table. Also I have other pages where this problem exist with same structure.
Could somebody help me with some advice?

Thanks for the answer.
I use the standart method to make search panel with drag and drop the data control to the page. The other search panel fileds work fine, only the date fileds are problem. Maybe something in view object doesn't work properly.

Also I have a result table for the search panel, but I don't believe the problem can be there because it works fine when I search in fields different by inputDate.

Thoroughly frustrating problem with Preview

Hi,
I'm new to the forum and tried to hold out as long as possible, but the problem I'm having has so thoroughly frustrated me I had to post this. Let me try to be as clear as possible.
I have a Mac (OS 10.8.2, upgraded from a late-2009 Macbook running Snow Leopard - 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 gb RAM, 1067 MHz DDR3). I have Adobe Acrobat Pro XI installed. I also have Microsoft Office 2011. Both Acrobat, M. Office, and all my software is fully updated and current. I have no font conflicts, as I have just clean re-installed my OS because this problem is so frustrating.
The issue is with pdfs I make of books I own. Sometimes I will use my iphone 4 (latest iOS 6.1.2) with apps like "CamScanner+" or "GeniusScan+" to copy chapters and make pdfs. (CamScanner+ has built in OCR capability.) I then upload them to my WebDAV bibliography storage cloud on Box.net to access from my Mac laptop. Sometimes I use the University's big overhead scanner to make monochrome pdfs, and run OCR thru Acrobat Pro XI. Sometimes I will use the Canon scanners in the computer labs, and do OCR in Acrobat Pro XI then. In each case, I use Zotero to handle attaching pdfs to bib entries and sync it all up to my WebDAV account. (Zotero has a plugin I use called "Zotfile," which also allows one to extract notes, highlighting, annotations, etc., and store them on Zotero while also keeping them on the pdf.) In either case, though, I always run the pdf thru Acrobat Pro XI to optimize, at the least.
When I access the pdfs for notetaking, research, etc., I tend to use Mac's Preview built-in app. I find it easier to streamline, scroll, view and add notes, less clutery, etc. I see that this new Mountain Lion Preview is much different than Snow Leopard's, which is very regrettable. In this version, Preview saves as you go, it seems.
The problem is that everytime I save the pdf I've been working on from File>Save (and even when Preview saves as I go), it does a number of nasty, unwanted things. First, it somehow doubles the filesize (e.g., from 30mb to 67mb). Second, and MOST HATED, it takes the OCR'ed texts/fonts and converts them all to alien faces, square boxes, or just blanks. (God it's making me angry just thinking about it now - I've spent two full weeks now trying to fix this!!!!) This happens regardless of whether I ClearScan the OCR, Searchable text the OCR, or Searchable text (exact) the OCR. It happens regardless of whether the OCR'ed fonts are embedded, embedded subsets, etc. Every option on Acrobat Pro XI, I feel I have tried and exhausted and Preview still f$&#s it up. As far as I can tell, this happens regardless of what kind of font is used in the OCR'ed pdf (e.g., TrueType, CID, etc.). In every single instance, Preview will 1) double the file size and 2) screw up the fonts upon saving. If I take this newly ruined pdf back into Acrobat Pro, highlight text, copy and try to paste into Word, Chrome, or any other app it produces the same result. However, if I right click and "copy with formatting" from Acrobat Pro, it copies the actual words/font. The newly ruined Preview pdf doesn't return any word searches either. I know this is not a problem with my Mac's fonts since I just did a clean re-install. Font Book tells me everything is alright too. This occurs regardless of what save settings I choose in Preview (e.g., the default settings, the quartz settings, reduce file size, etc.).
The strange part, though, is that when I take this newly ruined Preview'ed pdf, highlight text, go to font inspector, it says the highlighted font is exactly what it was when Acrobat saved it (e.g., Arial). And if I take this same document back to Acrobat and view properties, it says the fonts are the same as they were when Acrobat Pro originally processed it.
SO... I hope someone can help me with a fix for this. I truly do not want to use Acrobat Pro XI as my research pdf tool. It doesn't scroll smoothly, the layout is clunky, etc. It just isn't conducive to research/reading/notetaking. Preview, I think, is, and so I want to be able to have a fix for this so that Preview will quit ruining my life.
I can provide sample pdfs if that might help. I can provide the original Acrobat Pro XI processed pdfs, as well as the newly ruined Preview pdfs. BTW, I posted this in Adobe's forums as well.

I assume the answer by macjack would not apply in the case of Snow Leopard - Preview version 5.0.3 - but I have the same issue with OCR (not the constant autosave issue though) on my '10 MBP running osx 10.6.8 where suddenly maybe about a year ago 2 hugely annoying things changed in Preview.
As first poster stated (and he/she obviously knows a LOT more about this stuff than me) Preview stopped providing accurate search results with most pdf documents (some downloaded, some created from web, etc., no idea of common thread there).
I can NO LONGER COPY AND PASTE any text in any pdf opened in Preview to another application!! I used to have no problem copying pdf text from Preview to, say, text edit. Now it comes up weird boxes and dashes and no, font choice and/or conflict is not the issue.
I realize this thread is within the Mountain Lion community, and forgive me if I should start a new thread in some other area of this forum saying exactly what I have here, but I have searched and searched on this topic for months and this is the first thread I found which refers to these exact issues I'm enduring.
Any further advice or comments on the subject - or even constructive instructions if I should post elsewhere - would be greatly appreciated!

Problems with RowSelection in adf table

I have problems with selection of a row in a adf table. Even though I have set the property : rowSelection="single" , when i select a row, the two other rows that follow, get selected too. For example I have 10 records an when i select the 7th row, the 8th and 9th row are also selected. This doesn't happen with the first rows.
Also when i evaluate an attribute on selectionListener, it is always getting just the one from the first row.

I have two panelBox, one for a set of options with commandMenuItem and the second one wich shows the result in a table. The first commandMenuItem generate records an show them in the table. Here i got no problem with selection. The third commandMenuItem execute a log of the records generated, here is the problem.
Thes two pages are part o a template, the template has a panelSpliter, in the right are the set of commandMenuItem an in the second is the part that i can edit.
I have also drag an drop from the datacontrol again and have the same result

What is the frame rate of the project? At what frame rate was the media recorded? What frame size?
What are the audio settings?
What are the specs of the machine, in particular how much RAM, how is the hard drive connected, etc.?
If possible, post screenshots of the inspector for the project.
It could be related to the audio frequency?

Problem with rendered attribute in jhs 10.1.3.3

We are currently trying to migrate our applications from jhs 10.1.3.2.52 to jhs 10.1.3.3.87 using jdeveloper 10.1.3.5. We are facing a problem with all the detail groups structured inside detail group regions - they have all disappear from the pages.
In my example code i have two master-detail groups Products (Master) and ExpertiseAreas (Detail) on the same page:
Products - Group
-> ExpertiseAreasDtl - Detail Group Region
-> ExpertiseAreas - Group (Samepage="true")
The problem is that the detail group ExpertiseAreas is not rendered on the page.
As i looked in through the pages generated by the 2 different releases of jhs using the same app definition, i can see the following:
CODE GENERATED FOR THE ExpertiseAreasDtl Detail Group Region (all the vms used are the default):
in jhs10.1.3.3.87:

First of all a rendered attribute is being generated in the new version of jhs and not in the old.
The real problem seems to be with the iterator binding generated from verticalRegionContainer.vm in the regular expression: "#{(ProductsIterator.currentRow!=null and ProductsIterator.findMode!='true')}". It should have been *bindings.*ProductsIterator and not plain ProductsIterator. Has anybody got any ideas on how to solve the problem?

We have recently upgraded from Jhs 10.1.3.3.52 to 10.1.3.3.87 (using JDev 10.1.3.4.0.4270) and have run into a problem with a window using regions. We have horizontal region containers, vertical region containers, stacked region containers and detail group regions. The tables in these containers/regions are not rendering at all. When I compared the .jspx pages of both versions of Jhs I noticed the 10.1.3.3.52 version had the following code (which works) as

I have a perplexing problem with creating some links. I created a button using the shapes tools, I use the command/shift/4 to capture the image I created, I go to photoshop, edit it, then save it as a jpeg, put it into my site, make it a link, publish the site .... then nothing. The link won't work. Any other jpeg image i put in easily converts to a link if I desire, why won't this?
Also, I have read on here that you can use a transparent text box over text to create a link without having to convert the actual text and get the annoying underline, etc. that come with it. Any idea how to do this?

The process that you describe should work exactly like that. I'm not sure what the issue is with those buttons. Do you have a URL where we can take a look at one of these buttons? It may be that they are getting obscured by something else maybe?

This is true. You can always overlay a SHAPE and change its opacity in the Inspector Graphics tab to 1% in order to make it transparent. It has to be 1% or more, though...zero doesn't work. Also, if the text that you want hyperlinked or hotspotted is in a textbox all by itself, then you can also attach the hyperlink to the textbox itself instead of selecting the text in the textbox. That will also avoid the underline....but it works only if the text is in a textbox all by itself.

Sudden problems with image behaviors, javascript on Yahoo servers

I have been posting my website with Yahoo Small Business for 10 years and have never had a server-side issue (to my knowledge). Until now.
It should first be pointed out that all my sites are basic HTML, constructed using Dreamweaver 8 on an old Sawtooth PowerMac that runs OS X.3.8. I am behind the times and know it.
I have a 2011 iMAC, but can't afford to upgrade my imaging software. If adobe cared anything about aspiring designers, they would come down to earth with the pricing (why should current students, educators and private business be given such a massive advantage in pricing?). Sorry, I'm just being truthful. I do not use style sheets (though it would be helpful to learn since the web is run by them now).
Recently, I completely redesigned my personal website. When I tested it on my old mac, everything functioned as desired. When tested on my new mac, everything functioned as desired. When viewed online after uploading to the server, the page appears to load in full, but none of the image behaviors work. Correction, the "mailto:" link works, but it was assigned in the property inspector rather than the behaviors inspector. So I have no rollovers and no operative links beyond email.
I sent the site files to a friend so he could check the site. He posted it to the server he uses and all the functions on the page work correctly. This is where I came to suspect that the problem is with the Yahoo servers and not my coding.

Your code is corrupted. If you view source in browser, you'll see your code is compressed into one long line. This will surely cause JavaScripts to fail.
Your friend's version works because the code is not compressed.
