Problem with EJB3 - BlazeDS on Glassfish

Hi, I'm new in BlazeDS. I have a problem with Flex application using BlazeDS on Glassfish. I want to call sayHello method from EJB 3 (stateful or stateless) from Flex but I can't correctly configure BlazeDS. I search in internet from two weeks for examples, but most of them is for JBoss. Can somebody show me full config for BlazeDS, Flex application (and Glassfish if it's needed).
I should be grateful for any help.

Lucasz, did you find out how to configure BlazeDS on GlassFish ?
I'm having trouble also. We need to run on glassfish/netbeans/toplink, which is not quite common in the doc's/web. Even granite is very eclipse/jboss/hibernate oriented.
I just need some good EJB3Factory available, or an example, and a way to match JNDI calls from glassfish to my blazeDS destinations.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Weblogic server 10.0 MP2 version compatibility with EJB3.0

    Is it ok to use EJB3.0 in 10.0 MP2 ?
    Are there any pitfalls or problems with EJB3.0 implementation with webloigc 10.0 MP2 version?
    Currently we are using weblogic 10.0 MP2 version and planning to use EJB3.0 for one of our projects.
    Do we still need to go to weblogic 10.3 for using EJB 3.0 or can we stick with webloigc 10.0 MP2 version
    As per weblogic 10.0 documentation EJB3.0 is supported and JDK version used is 1.5. - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E13222_01/wls/docs100/pdf/notes.pdf
    Thanks

    Hi Anup,
    Maybe you should be a bit more specific about what you want to do. Coherence is just Java and has been supported WebLogic for years in the same way most other third-party Java libraries and APIs are. I first started using Coherence about four or five years ago with WebLogic 8.

  • Problem with cross-database relation in EJB3 entities with Sybase DB

    Hi,
    while experimenting with EJB3 as a beginner, I noticed that generated queries sent to the Sybase DB never use the catalog name prepending the table name (like in: select * from user_db..Account where Id = 'myname'). Instead only table name is used, which schema-name prepended in case it's not blank.
    This is inconvinient, since it forces me to use several persistence units, one for each catalog.
    What is even more a problem, is that an entitiy that has a relation to another entity mapped to a table in a different catalog, doesn't work, at runtime I get a error '...sql error...table <table_in_other_catalog> not found...'
    Is there a fix/work around for this problem?
    Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Mark

    Was it that there was an entity generation bug, or was it that your classes were out of sync, and that by changing the table names that you regenerated the entity classes to be in sync?
    If you have a simple reproducable test case of the problem then it would be great if you could enter a bug in Bugzilla:

    Hi Udo

    I was installing on OpenSuse 11.3 oracle 11g 64 based OS and oracle
    next I was download and unzip and build cocoon2.1.11 as bash build.sh war -- and in build folder theres make cocoon.war
    next I was download apex listener and from command line I was type java -jar apex.war
    next download and build glassfish v2 and this two war files I was deploy on server, and making username as describe

  • Problems connecting JavaFX 1.3 with EJB 3.0 (Glassfish 3)

    Hi all,
    I am trying to connect a JavaFX application with an EJB Server (Glassfish 3).
    After searching a lot on the internet I just noticed some examples of connecting JavaFX 1.2 with glassfish 2.1
    But with JavaFX 1.3 and Glassfish 3, no success!
    The same code works in a normal java project, but not in javaFX.
    Any advice ?
    Thanks,
    Arber

    After downgrading to 1.7.0-b147(Java Plug-in 10.0.0.147) the applet works again. Unfortunately the new JavaFX 2.0 based applets stop working, complaining about misconfiguration.

  • Noob Question: Problem with Persistence in First Entity Bean

    Hey folks,
    I have started with EJB3 just recently. After reading several books on the topic I finally started programming myself. I wanted to develop a little application for getting a feeling of the technology. So what I did is to create a AppClient, which calls a Stateless Session Bean. This Stateless Bean then adds an Entity to the Database. For doing this I use Netbeans 6.5 and the integrated glassfish. The problem I am facing is, that the mapping somehow doesnt work, but I have no clue why it doesn't work. I just get an EJBException.
    I would be very thankfull if you guys could help me out of this. And don't forget this is my first ejb project - i might need a very detailed answer ... I know - noobs can be a real ....
    So here is the code of the application. I have a few methods to do some extra work there, you can ignore them, there are of no use at the moment. All that is really implemented is testConnection() and testAddCompany(). The testconnection() Methode works pretty fine, but when it comes to the testAddCompany I get into problems.
    Edit:As I found out just now, there is the possibility of Netbeans to add a Facade pattern to an Entity bean. If I use this, everythings fine and it works out to be perfect, however I am still curious, why the approach without the given classes by netbeans it doesn't work.
    public class Main {
        private EntryRemote entryPoint = null;
        public static void main(String[] args) throws NamingException {
            Main main = new Main();
            main.runApplication();
        private void runApplication()throws NamingException{
            this.getContext();
            this.testConnection();
            this.testAddCompany();
            this.testAddShipmentAddress(1);
            this.testAddBillingAddress(1);
            this.testAddEmployee(1);
            this.addBankAccount(1);
        private void getContext() throws NamingException{
            InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
            this.entryPoint = (EntryRemote) ctx.lookup("Entry#ejb.EntryRemote");
        private void testConnection()
            System.err.println("Can Bean Entry be reached: " + entryPoint.isAlive());
        private void testAddCompany(){
            Company company = new Company();
            company.setName("JavaFreaks");
            entryPoint.addCompany(company);
            System.err.println("JavaFreaks has been placed in the db");
        }Here is the Stateless Session Bean. I added the PersistenceContext, and its also mapped in the persistence.xml file, however here the trouble starts.
    import javax.ejb.Stateless;
    import javax.persistence.EntityManager;
    import javax.persistence.PersistenceContext;
    @Stateless(mappedName="Entry")
    public class EntryBean implements EntryRemote {
        @PersistenceContext(unitName="PersistenceUnit") private EntityManager manager;
        public boolean isAlive() {
            return true;
        public boolean addCompany(Company company) {
            manager.persist(company);
            return true;
        public boolean addShipmentAddress(long companyId) {
            return false;
        public boolean addBillingAddress(long companyId) {
            return false;
        public boolean addEmployee(long companyId) {
            return false;
        public boolean addBankAccount(long companyId) {
            return false;
    }That you guys and gals will have a complete overview of whats really going on, here is the Entity as well.
    package ejb;
    import java.io.Serializable;
    import javax.persistence.*;
    @Entity
    @Table(name="COMPANY")
    public class Company implements Serializable {

            return true;

    Well I don't understand this. If Netbeans created a Stateless Session Bean as a facade then it works -and it is implemented as a CMP, not as a BMP as you suggested.
    I defenitely will try you suggestion, just for curiosity and to learn the technology, however I dont have see why BMP will work and CMP won't.
    I also don't see why a stateless bean can not be a CMP. As far as I read it should not matter. Also on the link you sent me, I can't see anything related to that.
    Maybe you can help me answering these questions.
    I hope the above lines don't sound harsh. I really appreciate your input.

  • Can't deploy BlazeDS on Glassfish v3

    Hi,
    I'm trying to deploy a sample application with BlazeDS on Glassfish v3. On each deployments this exception is rising :

    It seems that flex.messaging.HttpFlexSession needs to implement some interfaces.
    Is there a way to use BlazeDS on Glassfish v3 ?

    Then, I tried to deploy on my first Glassfish and it crashs with the above exception.
    I don't have the time to hunt the problem, but it probably comes from a jar or something like this.

  • Problem with axis2 and Tomcat

    Hello,
    I am having a strange problem with Tomcat and axis. I have a webservice that uses axis2 for wsdl2java class generation. When I compile my project in maven a Test is performed. During the test a glassfish server is established and the project is deployed -everything work great with the expected results. However when I try to deploy the webservice on tomcat it has some problems.
    At first I tried to call axis code in a POST method that takes a MultiPart message. The code is as below:
    *@Path("identifyWavestream")*
    *@POST*
    *@Consumes(MediaType.MULTIPART_FORM_DATA)*
    *@Produces(MediaType.APPLICATION_XML)*
    *public String multipartTest(com.sun.jersey.multipart.MultiPart multiPart) throws Exception {*
    *// get first body part (index 0)*
    *//tomcat shows that the first error is here (line 122 is the nest one with bodypart)*
    BodyPart bp = multiPart.getBodyParts().get(0);
    BodyPartEntity bodyPartEntity = (BodyPartEntity) bp.getEntity();
    InputStream stream = bodyPartEntity.getInputStream();
    *//the rest of the code either saves the incoming file or implements the wsdl2java axis interface - neither works.*
    And the tomcat error is:
    java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0
    java.util.ArrayList.RangeCheck(Unknown Source)
    java.util.ArrayList.get(Unknown Source)

    It was strange to me since this simple approach of handling a Multipart method worked for me earlier. Then I decided skip the handling of multipart method and just call the axis code. But the results also caused an error. I then tried to call the axis code in a simple @GET method (to cross out any issues regarding the multipart) and the result where the same. Again everything works on the maven- glassfish test. In this case the tomcat error is the following:

  • Problem with non-container managed entity manager

    i am working on a project, in which i am using entity beans.i use netbeans, glassfish as application server and toplink as persistence provider .
    i created a java class that handles all the operations with the entitys, which means i using non-container managed entity manager.
    in the constructor
    try{
                EntityManagerFactory emf = Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("voidPU");
                entityManager = emf.createEntityManager();
            catch(Exception ex){
                throw new EJBException(ex.getMessage());
            }then i call a function in this class from a servlet
    the code of the function
    List users = null;
            try {
                ProgLanguages progLanguage = entityManager.find(ProgLanguages.class, languageId);
                users = (List) progLanguage.getUserIdCollection();
            catch(IllegalStateException illegalStateException){
                throw new EJBException(illegalStateException.getMessage());
            catch(IllegalArgumentException illegalArgumentException) {
                throw new EJBException(illegalArgumentException.getMessage());
            }i got an IllegalArgumentException saying Unknown entity bean class: class vanguard.server.entity.ProgLanguages, please verify that this class has been marked with the @Entity annotation
    what confuses me is that sometimes it works and most of the time it does not work, have i made anything wrong?, or there is a problem with any of the tools netbeans, glassfish, or toplink?

    Is it always the same entity that is reported as 'unknown' ? You mention that it works sometimes but is it the same deployment and the same code that works? The first thing I would verify is that the ear is being created as expected by netbeans. Check the persistence.xml file and verify that all of the classes are listed that will be used as entities.

    Although i am quite new to this as well i would say that there is a problem with your connection with the database.
    It seems it cannot connect to Mysql.
    have you download the mysql package library and imported it ?
    Also in your deploy folder in you Jboss
    have you altered the jdbc to connect to you database in your dataset ? ( i am not sure about mysql, but postgre reguired this)
    Most probably it would be the same in mysql.
    <connection-url>jdbc:postgresql://127.0.0.1:5432/Dissertation</connection-url>
    Not sure if this is what you reguire, i am new at this my self

  • Problem with logging

    Hi, I have a problem with logging into PSN. When I want to log into in there comes an error which is NW-31456-9. I have something like that for 1 day. Anyone know how to fix this? I tried manual settings for my internet but it doesn't work.

    Did some more debugging. The application is an application running under the Glassfish 2.1.1 application server. The logger is configured in a Lifecycle module and accessed in an EJB module. Here is what I found.
    With JDK 1.6.0_05, the logger that I get in the Lifecycle module is the same logger instance that I get within the EJB where I am logging. In the EJB, I get all of the handlers and print out the information and all is correct and the logging works with the handler.
    Change the symbolic link to point to JDK 1.6.0_22 and the logger that I get in the Lifecycle module is not the same logger instance that I get within the EJB where I am logging. This time in the EJB, the logger's level is "null" and there is no handler associated with the logger. So that is why it is not logging. What I don't understand is why the logger instance is retrieved in the EJB is not the same logger instance in the Lifecycle module.
    Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

  • Problem with Richfaces, JSF 1.2, Facelets application

    Hello
    I have trouble using Weblogic 10.3.3 with my JSF-application which is constructed using Richfaces 3.3.3 and Facelets. First I had problems with deployment but with adding weblogic.xml to project.
    This is the weblogic.xml content :
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <weblogic-web-app xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/weblogic-web-app http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/weblogic-web-app/1.0/weblogic-web-app.xsd"
    xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/weblogic-web-app">
    <library-ref>
    <library-name>jsf</library-name>
    <specification-version>1.2</specification-version>
    <implementation-version>1.2</implementation-version>
    <exact-match>false</exact-match>
    </library-ref>
    <container-descriptor>
    <prefer-web-inf-classes>true</prefer-web-inf-classes>
    </container-descriptor>
    </weblogic-web-app>
    This application works without problems in Glassfish 2.1 but when I try to access my application in Weblogic, I get following exception :
    Error 500--Internal Server Error
    javax.el.ELException: /Main.xhtml: The class 'katva.soa.logging.web.soaloggerweb.SessionController' does not have the property 'navigateToMonitor'.

  • Problems with WEBUTIL_CORE on OAS 10.1.2 (CLIENT_IMAGE.READ_IMAGE_FILE)

    Hello,
    I get a problem with webutil 106 on Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 (RedHat 4)
    Some functions raise errors as :
    oracle.forms.net.ConnectionException: Abandon de la session Forms <839> : communication avec le processus runtime impossible.
    at oracle.forms.net.ConnectionException.createConnectionException(Unknown Source)
    at oracle.forms.net.HTTPNStream.getResponse(Unknown Source)
    at oracle.forms.net.HTTPNStream.doFlush(Unknown Source)
    at oracle.forms.net.HTTPNStream.flush(Unknown Source)
    at java.io.DataOutputStream.flush(Unknown Source)
    at oracle.forms.net.StreamMessageWriter.run(Unknown Source)
    For testing, I use the demo form WU_TEST_106 and I encounter this problem with :
    CLIENT_IMAGE.READ_IMAGE_FILE
    I get another problem with SHOWBEANS(FALSE) that doesn't terminate (showbeans(true) works fine)
    I've tried others Webutil functions that works fine
    I've another platform with same release of Webutil / OAS 10.1.2 / Redhat4 which works fine (the major difference is that OAS was installed with portal in this last platform).
    I've made those test with same client and same database (10g)
    Any ideas ?

    Seems to be a bug. That was the response from Oracle support (Metalink)
    Response:
    Your issue seems to be related to bug 5594702 - Abstract: EJB30 ENTITY BEAN WITH @ID AND @COLUMN ANNOTATION FAILS TO DEPLOY ON AIX.
    There is an issue with the IBM JDK/JRE 1.5's processing of annotations.
    Links:
    http://www.theserverside.com/discussions/thread.tss?thread_id=37764
    http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/forums/dw_thread.jsp?forum=367&thread=112543&cat=10
    When processing annotations it returns boolean values as false.
    Work-around:
    Fully specify the @Column annotation's boolean values. If insertable and updatable are set to false (which will happen due to this bug) then TopLink sets the PK
    mapping to read-only and the exception seen is expected.
    Note: nullable attribute of the @Colmun is not used in the EJB3/JPA preview of 10.1.3.0 If the customer MUST override the default column name then they should use:
    @Column(name="column-name", insertable=true, updatable=true)
    If they do not wish to override the default column name then simply do not use an @Column annotation.
    It can be deleted or commented out in the JDev generated code.
    There are two reported annotation processing issues with the AIX JVM. One was fixed in SR1 and the other is fixed
    in SR3 (due out Oc 11 - today). Upgrading to these more recent JVM releases may also address this issue.
    RECOMMENDED SOLUTIONS:
    1. Upgrade the IBM AIX JVM to SR3.
    OR
    2. Fix all generated @Column annotations as described above

  • Problems with building blueprints catalog

    Hi,
    I've got some problems building bp-catalog v 0.8 on a windows 7 machine, GlassFish 3.0.1.
    I've properly changed build.properties file and executed "ant setup" but when I issues the "ant run" command, the compiler can't find packages (JSF packages mainly).
    Why it cannot find jars? The ant script should include glassfish jee jars into classpath...right?
    I've got the same problem with Petstore but since it's a netbeans ready project, I easily imported it and configured the runtime to GlassFish, and this solved the problem.
    With the bp catalog, it could be pretty handy to build and deploy all the projects, without to import one by one in netbeans and manually solve the missing references problems.
    Many thanks in advance:

  • ADF Paging with EJB3.0

    Hello,
    I'm using ADF faces and ADF bindings with EJB3.0
    I have af:table with paging, but that is only visual it still gets a list with al my objects.
    Is it possible to have real paging that only gets the displayed data from the database.
    Regards,
    Tim

    Hello,
    I already have the method on the EJB, you pass the parameters, the number of the first record and the number of records you want.
    The problem I'm having is that I don't know how to make adf call it.
    I've used this with myfaces
    http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/WorkingWithLargeTables
    But if I use something like that I can't use the bindings.
    Am I right in presuming that the adf table only uses get(int pos) and size() to get the data from the collection. If so it was thinking about creating a PagedList based on the myfaces DataModel example. I don't really like that solution, but I don't know a better one.
    Regards,
    Tim
