Problem with event based scheduling

Hi,
We are having a ETL job running everynight, so i need to have daily
report as soon as my ETL job is finished. For that we have run some
script to create a event file after completion of ETL job. And by using
this event file we have scheduled a report that runs after this event
file is created. Now the problem is that the scheduled report is
generated before the ETL job is finished. This seems to be working fine
till last month, but this month we are facing this issue. my question
is why the scheduler is triggered before the event file is created
(event file is created after the completion of ETL job)
Do anybody faced this iss
FYI
We are on BO XI 3.1 with no SP's and FP's and on windows environment.
Do anybody faced this issue?Any advise is appreciated.

We are also on BO XI 3.1 with no SP's and FP's. We create Event files after the ETL jobs are completed. These files are used to create BO Events (File), which are used as scheduling criteria before the Reports can run. These files are deleted daily before the next files are created, something you might want check.

Problem with event handling

Hello all,
I have a problem with event handling. I have two buttons in my GUI application with the same name.They are instance variables of two different objects of the same class and are put together in the one GUI.And their actionlisteners are registered with the same GUI. How can I differentiate between these two buttons?

I solved the problem ..using same concept but in a different way..
One thing i wanted to make clear is that the two buttons are in the SAME CLASS and i am forming 2 different objects of the SAME class and then putting them in a GUI.THERE IS NO b and C. there is just two instances of b which belong to the SAME CLASS..
So the code

wont work as both the instances would have the label "ChgDir" and have setActionCommand set to 1!!!!
Actually I have an array of buttons..So I solved the prob by writting a function caled setActionCmdRemote that would just set the action commands of one object of the class differently ..here is the code

Problem with File Based replication in Weblogic Express 10

Hi,
          We have Web application (exploded war) file deployed on Weblogic Express 10, to a Cluster of three Managed Servers (all three on different physical machines).
          We are using File based session persistance in weblogic.xml
          We have a shared location for all the three servers where we will be sharing the Session data.
          When we start the application, its works fine and is very fast, but after sometime the application slows down.
          Troubleshooting the Issue we found that its a problem with file based replication. By using File based replication every user session is stored in form of directory inside shared directory. So after sometime thousands of directories are created inside the shared directory where the session information is stored. So when we access the application, its waiting for lot of time with Message Session Monitor .... (this is because its browsing through the shared session storage directory for lot of time for session information as it has lot of directories) and finally after a long time like 10 mins we get the Application Home Page.
          When we clean up all the saved sessions inside shared directory, the application works fine, But we will see the same sometime later may be after 3 or 4 hours when the shared session directory has lot of session information stored in it.
          Is there a way to clean up the saved session information on file system as soon as that user session is closed by using file based replication.
          We cannot used Inmemory replication as our Appl doesnt support it.
          Please advice as it is a major show stopper in our Production Mirror env.

It is possible to reduce number of live session by configuring very low timeout-secs weblogic.xml. Default is 60 minutes.

Problem with replication based on materialized view

Problem with replication based on materialized view...
Given:
1. Source: S-1
2. Targets: T-1, T-2
3. DB links: from T-1 to S-1, from T-2 to S-1
Required replicate table TBL on S-1 to T-1, T-2 via db links.
On S-1 was created materialized view log with PK on TBL. On T-1, T-2 were created mat.views as "on prebuilt table refresh fast on demand". In case of get "ORA-12034: materialized view log younger than last refresh" or initial load - perform complete refresh. Initial load on T-1 takes about 1 hour, on T-2 - about 12 hours. Refresh is executed via job with minutely interval. If refresh is running then it is not performed.
Problem: after initial load on T-1 performs fast refresh, but on T-2 raised ORA-12034 and complete performs again.
What's wrong?

I confess perhaps I gave a little info.
View log was created before MV.
It was the first initial load.
No refresh failed.
No DDL.
No purge log.
Not warehouse.
There is no such behavior for MVs on another sites.
P.S. I ask help someone who knows what's wrong or who faced with it or can me follow by usefull link.

Documentation for tab.user_data with event based jobs

Hi,
Are all the atributes for tab.user_data when used as part of an event based job documented somewhere?
I have been looking but all I can find are examples rather than explicit documentation.

Hi Pete,
The type of the object tab.user_data is the type used to create the AQ queue with. So it varies depending on the type you used to create the queue with.
If you are consuming messages from the scheduler event queue, the type is sys.scheduler$_event_info and to figure out what fields it has you can use
desc sys.scheduler$_event_info

Problems with event import on iMovie 10.0.3

My complete movie libraries works fine with iMovie 9.0.9. There are no other malfunctions. The filessystem is clean.
After upgrading to iMovie 10.0.3 the initial startup event and project update process fails on serveral older events and I have problems to import this events folders.
Why does V. 10.0.3 has problems with some older events ? What to do to get this files properly ?

EEM Applet Problem With: event syslog pattern ".*" priority 2

I went to create a EEM applet that would be invoked whenever any syslog message of priority 0-2 was invoked. I figured the following event statement would work
event syslog pattern ".*" priority 2
I never really used the priority optional argument before but thought I understood from the docs that messages at or numerically lower than the specified level are matched.
Well it doesn't seem to work as documented. Seems to me that only messages at the specified level are beng matched and not messages numerically lower than the specified level.
Anyway I did what I wanted differently but wanted to post this in case this is a bug in the syslog ed.

Actually, it's a problem with the documentation. The priority option only matches the specified severity. What you could do is adjust pattern to do this:
event syslog pattern "*-[012]-"

Problems with location based applications

I am having problems with all of my location based applications i.e. none of them work. It seems I can never be located by the GPS no matter where i am and i just get a permanently spinning wheel. I have deleted and reloaded the Apps (although even with the generic Maps App i cannot be located) and i have reset the phone Reset iPhone (but havent Reset Settings or Restored yet). I love my iPhone but this is very frustrating. Can someone please help ?

Didn't work unfortunately. My Location Services were On so i proceeded to Restore. All went ok on the Restore but i still have the same problem. I have 4 App's that are location based and none of them work. Your suggestion ? Thanks for your help.

Problems with file based repository

I am facing problems with Oracle 10g cluster which is using file based repository.Every now and then one of the nodes in the cluster gives problems and I get error message
"The DCM repository is not currently available. The Oracle Application Server ins
tance, "abc", is using a cached copy of the repository information. This operation will update the repository, therefore the repository must be available."
When I check the repository host its up and running. This happens intermittently. Is there any way to bring this node back in sync with repository? dcmctl resyncinstance doesnt seem to work.

Generally this issue comes if esb-dt and BPEL runs on the same server. Try this:
1> go to <SOA_HOME>/integration/esb/config
2> edit esb_config.ini
add 2 parameters at the end of the file
PingCount = 30
PingInterval = 30

EVENT BASED SCHEDULER

Hi All,
I have two databases lets say A an B.
I have a STORED PROCEDURE on DATABASE B which runs everyday via a schecduler at 8 in the morning.
This procedure basically picks up data from a TABLE in database A and processes it everyday.
Now I want to modify the scheduler from the current one that runs at say 8 to one that runs the STORED PROCEDURE whenever data is inserted into the table.
Is it possibble in ORACLE?
Datbase version is 10g
Any help would be highly appreciated.

One way of re-using it is, raising an Event trigger to Kick-off the jobs, preferably once data is inserted into tables. Definitely, this has to be done by the system performing the Inserts.

Problems with events in flex

Hi there. I'm a AS2 and Flash CS3 guy. I started to learn AS3 and transfer to Flex 3. But I got a problem w/ Events in AS3. I'm adding a canvas component to the stage. On that canvas, I added 3 different events: mouse down, mouse move, and mouse up. When mouse move is fired, there is no way for me to get mouse up event fired, and viceversa, when mouse up is fired, there is no way to get the mouse move event fired. Is there any one to help this newbie with this particular problem? Any help will be very appreciated.

How do you run jobs in oracle scheduler based on events? I have a job that needs to run after the successful completion of another job. I don't want to use chains. I have searched on the web, but all the examples I see are where a temp table is created and a row is inserted and then another PL/SQL block is run to manually pass a 'GO' value. I am looking for the a job to raise the JOB_SUCCEEDED event and then another job kicks in based on this event.
Any detailed examples would be greatly appreciated. Also if using any other PL/SQL package, what necessary privileges would be required to execute that package.

Here is a simple example. You create a job, MY_JOB, that raises the job_succeeded event. You also create an event-based job, MY_JOB_CONSUMER, that consumes event messages from sys.scheduler$_event_queue but only for job_succeeded events raised by MY_JOB.
First you let the user subscribe to the Scheduler event queue using the ADD_EVENT_QUEUE_SUBSCRIBER procedure. “my_agent”, or whatever name you use, is the name of the Oracle Streams Advanced Queuing (AQ) agent to be used to subscribe to the Scheduler event queue. This call both creates a subscription to the Scheduler event queue and grants the user permission to dequeue using the designated agent. The subscription is rule-based. The rule permits the user to see only events raised by jobs that the user owns, and filters out all other messages:

Problem with Events Manager: 'slct'

I set up an Events Manager item to run a script whenever the event "Selection" ( 'slct' ) is activated. The script works beautifully and I'm having no problem with the script itself. I am, however, having problems with what happens after the script finishes. I have this problem even if I completely comment out the script or delete everything inside the script file and leave it blank. The purpose of the script is to automate things when I select specific layers. That works and the script has some checks to prevent anything from happening unless one of those specified layers is selected.
The problem is, when I select a tool using the keyboard shortcuts, it will revert back to the previous tool upon the next keypress. It basically acts as if I am using toggle mode for that tool by holding down the key for that tool.
I wiped out my preferences but that did not solve the problem. It makes no difference how my keyboard shortcuts are mapped...either default or user defined. So for an example, here is how some of my keys are mapped:
B-Paintbrush tool
S-Brush Size Increase
So if I'm using the Clone Stamp tool and want to switch to the Paintbrush tool, I will press the "B" key. The tool switches as it's supposed to. If I need to change the size or hardness of the brush, I press one of the corresponding keys...let's say "S" to increase size. When I press "S" nothing will happen until I release that key. Once I do release it, the tool switches back to the Clone Stamp tool. You can get this same effect yourself if you hold down the key of the tool you are switching to (use the toggle mode) and then try to change size/hardness using the keyboard shortcut for that function while still holding that tool's key down.
If I select the tool from the Tools Palette, I do not have this problem. If the tool is selected from within my script, I do not have this problem. The only time I have this problem is when using the keyboard shortcuts to select the tool.
Keep in mind that I have tried this with the script code completely bypassed/erased so no script code actually exedutes. When I turn of the Events Manager or remove the 'slct' item from Events Manager, I do not have this problem at all. If I hold the <SHIFT> key down while selecting the tool, I do not have this problem (this is the same as if you were to hold down the <SHIFT>+<tool key> and press the key to change size/hardness).
To me, it seems as though if there is a 'slct' event item in Events Manager and the keyboard is used to select a tool, Photoshop treats it as if that key is being held down (toggled) until another key is pressed (or even the same key).
If anyone knows how to get around this problem, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I'm having the same problem where a keystroke (like changing size "[ or "]") will revert to a previous tool rather than change size. Particularly annoying when you left your previously selected eraser slightly larger or smaller than your brush size and don't realize it till you've erased.
So far, from reading across quite a number of forums, it seems the event listener istelf causing the issue
At the moment I've just been thinking of "BB" as my shortcut instead of "B" so when it reverts it reverts back to the brush anyway.
I'll come back if I find a real solution to this annoyance ;P

We are using ZFW on an ASR1001 and have experienced a problem: when I try to use mtr (mytraceroute, see

So it seems that the Firewall on my asr1001 is throwing away all packets with ttl-exceeded coming back from hops in between, they have another destination address.
At the moment I am inspecting all kind of traffic from my network outgoing:

So I tried to let pass all icmp-traffic from the outside to my network:

So this has no effect, but I tested and I could figure out, that when I pass all icmp-traffic from my network to the outside, THEN mtr does work.
BUT then normal ping does not work anymore, because it will not be inspected any more.
But I want to have a secure Firewall with inspecting echo-replys and working mtr anyway.
Has anyone the same problem or can even solve this issue?

Problems with Listobject based on a recordgroup

Hi all,
I have three problems with a Listobject (popup-_list) showing the records of a recordgroup.
The recordgrroup is created programatically in the WHEN_NEW_FORM_INSTANCE-Trigger of the form. It shall be the source of a ListObject. The values of the recordGrpoup and therfore also of the Listobject depends on the values of an master-datablock. Changing the values of the masterblock, the recordgroup must be requeried and the listobject must be repopulated.
1. When opening the form, the masterblock is empty. Same I want to have the listObject empty. An empty recordGroup seems not to be applied to the ListObject. Is there any possibility?
2. My sql-statement of the recordgroup works with a global variable like so:

I would prefer to replace the global variable with an item from my master datablock, but that seems not to work.
3. I have to requery the group and repopulate the list when changing the master-data.

Its a problem of the recordgroup (How can I figure that out?) or its a problem of the listObject or anything else?
Help would be very appreciated and the problem is a bit urgent.

I may not have the answer to all of your questions.
1. If you do a clear_list on the list item and, prior to this, assign it a null value. Does this work, assuming you didn't set the "other" property ?
2. What if you do

You should be able to do the same using global variables, in case you need it to be global
3. I don't see whats wrong with the list, maybe you can try to do a clear_list before repopulating it. If this doesn't help try the "magic bullet" and call
synchronize;
after populating the list. I checked if there is a bug filed on this issue for Forms 6i (I remember that you are using Forms 6i) but there is none. So the component should be fine.
