Problem with LIKE parameter in SQL

Hi there,
I got some problem trying to execute a query. Mainly the idea is that the user can choose the itemcode or part of it, thats why I use the Like operator. I try different way of using the LIKE operator,based on other topic, but still I don't get out.
I post my query, hoping that somebody can help me (the LIKE Clause you see is one of the last I tried)
SELECT DISTINCT ItemCode,
     (CASE WHEN WhsCode = '01' THEN (OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder) ELSE 0 END) AS DispMag01,
     (CASE WHEN WhsCode = '02' THEN (OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder) ELSE 0 END) AS DispMag02,
     (CASE WHEN WhsCode = '03' THEN (OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder) ELSE 0 END) AS DispMag03,
     (CASE WHEN WhsCode = '04' THEN (OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder) ELSE 0 END) AS DispMag04
FROM OITW  WHERE(OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder)>0 AND ItemCode Like '%%' + '[%itemC]' + '%%' ORDER BY ItemCode
Waiting for your kind reply
Rgds
Roberto

I think that itemc is some variable. You should creaqte the string of query as
SELECT DISTINCT ItemCode,
     (CASE WHEN WhsCode = '01' THEN (OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder) ELSE 0 END) AS DispMag01,
     (CASE WHEN WhsCode = '02' THEN (OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder) ELSE 0 END) AS DispMag02,
     (CASE WHEN WhsCode = '03' THEN (OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder) ELSE 0 END) AS DispMag03,
     (CASE WHEN WhsCode = '04' THEN (OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder) ELSE 0 END) AS DispMag04
FROM OITW  WHERE(OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder)>0 AND ItemCode Like '%' + itemC + '%' ORDER BY ItemCode
the string at the end should be like
SELECT DISTINCT ItemCode,
     (CASE WHEN WhsCode = '01' THEN (OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder) ELSE 0 END) AS DispMag01,
     (CASE WHEN WhsCode = '02' THEN (OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder) ELSE 0 END) AS DispMag02,
     (CASE WHEN WhsCode = '03' THEN (OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder) ELSE 0 END) AS DispMag03,
     (CASE WHEN WhsCode = '04' THEN (OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder) ELSE 0 END) AS DispMag04
FROM OITW  WHERE(OnHand-IsCommited+OnOrder)>0 AND ItemCode Like '%part_of_code%' ORDER BY ItemCode
hope it helps

  • A problem with a parameter name.(% causing problems)

    Hello,
    I wrote a following sql query and it works fine except for parameters like drying%Total, drying%,. The reason is that in the name of parameters there is a wildcard used %. I know that I can use an escape command however I could not figure out how as I think that escape command only works with LIKE operator and not MAX. Could you please help me to resolve this problem?
    Could you please tell me what should be amended in order an Oracle would treat % as a normal character and not a wildcard?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    SELECT c.numlotpharma AS lotnum , c.numof ,

    Hello,

    If in decode % is treated as a part of parameter name then what about this part of my sql query
    WHERE parametercode IN ('DRYING','DRYING%Total','DRYING%')
    Is % treated as a wildcard?I think it is. Why do you think that?
    '%' is a wildcard only in the right-operand of LIKE. The '%' characters in the expression above are not in the right-operand of a LIKE operation. (In fact, the expression doesn't include LIKE at all.) Therefore, the '%' signs above are not treated as wildcards.
    Include in your sample data some examples where the condition above is not doing what you expect. Be sure to post the entire query, too; the part that causes the unexpected results might be something completely unconnected to the WHERE clause posted above.
    Could you please tell me what to do so it would not be treated as a widlcard but as a integral part of a parameter name.You don't have to do anything.
    Consider this example:
    CREATE TABLE     table_x
    (     x_id          NUMBER (4)
    ,     parametercode     VARCHAR2 (30)
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (0,  NULL);
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (1,  'DRYING');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (2,  'DRYING%Total');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (3,  'DRYING%');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (11, 'DRYINGFOO');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (12, 'DRYING%FOO');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (13, 'DRYINGFOOTotal');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (14, 'FOO');
    SELECT     *
    FROM     table_x
    WHERE      parametercode IN ( 'DRYING'
                    , 'DRYING%Total'
                    , 'DRYING%'
    ;Output:
    .     X_ID PARAMETERCODE
             1 DRYING
             2 DRYING%Total
             3 DRYING%Is this what you expect? If not, what is?

  • Problem with Date Parameter

    Hi
    I am new to reporting services/report designer but have created a number of simple reports with Parameters using data from queries that have worked but I have a problem with this using Date and Time.
    I am using MS Visual Studio 2008 (BIDS) and our SQL Server is Windows Server 2008 R2
    I need to allow the users of the report to choose a start date and an end date
    The Start Dates are held in a field called PhaseStartDate
    The End Dates are held in a field called PhaseEndDates
    I have tried multiple ways to try to get this to work with no success and with the latest attempt I get the message
    "An error occurred during local report processing. The definition of the report 'JKVoidLoss' is invalid. The report parameter 'StartDate' has a default value or ValidValue that depends on the report parameter"Startdate". Forward dependancies
    are not valid"
    I will explain how I set up the Startdate. The EndDate is set up the same with the relevant values and fields.
    I created a new data source called StartDate. Under QUERY I have Select PhaseStartDate from QLHRA_VoidPhases. This runs okay when tested in Query designer and RUN.
    Under FIELDS I have Field name as PhaseStartDate and Field Source as PhaseStartdate
    Under PARAMETERS I have Parameter Name as PhaseStartDate and Parameter Value as [@StartDate]
    I set up a Parameter called StartDate with Data type as Date/Time
    Under Available Values I selected Get values from a query with Dataset being StartDate, Value field being PhaseStartdate and Label field being PhaseStartDate
    There are no Default Values
    I have tried moving the parameters up and down using the blue arrows under report data. I have tried multiple different methods to resolve this by changing values in the Properties screens.
    I also tried removing the DataSets and just using the Parameters with default settings. in preview, this ran the report but no matter what dates where entered the output was always the same.
    Any assistance will be greatly appreciated as I have spent hours on this so far

    As I understand what you need to do is to just remove parameter from the dataset query for populating the date values and then it should work fine

  • Problem with JPA Implementations and SQL BIGINT in primary keys

    I have a general Question about the mapping of the SQL datatype BIGINT. I discovered, that there are some different behaviour depending on the JPA implementation. I tested with TopLink Essentials (working) and with Hibernate (not working).
    Here is the case:
    Table definition:
    /*==============================================================*/
    /* Table: CmdQueueIn */
    /*==============================================================*/
    create table MTRACKER.CmdQueueIn
    CmdQueueInId bigint not null global autoincrement,
    Type int,
    Cmd varchar(2048),
    CmdState int,
    MLUser bigint not null,
    ExecutionTime timestamp,
    FinishTime timestamp,
    ExecutionServer varchar(64),
    ScheduleString varchar(64),
    RetryCount int,
    ResultMessage varchar(256),
    RecordState int not null default 1,
    CDate timestamp not null default current timestamp,
    MDate timestamp not null default current timestamp,
    constraint PK_CMDQUEUEIN primary key (CmdQueueInId)
    The java class for this table has the following annotation for the primary key field:
    @Id
    @GeneratedValue(strategy=GenerationType.IDENTITY)
    @Column(name = "CmdQueueInId", nullable = false)
    private BigInteger cmdQueueInId;
    When using hibernate 3.2.1 as JPA provider I get the following exception:

    This means, that their ID generator does not support java.math.BigInteger as datatype.
    But the code works if I take TopLink essentials as JPA Provider.
    Looking at the spec shows the following:
    In chapter 2.1.4 "If generated primary keys are used, only integral types will be portable." Integral datatypes are byte, short, int, long and char. This would mean, that the Hibernate implementation fits the spec but there seem to be a problem in general with BIGINT datatypes.
    I use a SYBASE database. There it is possible to declare a UNSIGNED BIGINT. The range of numbers is therefore 0 - 2^64 - 1. Since in Java a long is always signed it would mean its range is from -2^63 -1 to 2^63 -1. So a mapping of BIGINT to java.lang.long could result in an overflow.
    The interesting thing is, that I used NetBeans to reverse engineer an existing database schema. It generated for all Primary Keys of Type BIGINT automatically a java.math.BigInteger. But for other fields (not being keys) it mapped BIGINTs to java.lang.long.
    It looks like there are some problems with either the spec itself or the implementation of it. While TopLink seems to handle the problem correctly, Hibernate doesn't. But Hibernate seems to fulfill the spec.
    Is anybody familiar with the Spec reading this and can elaborate a little about this situation?
    Many thanks for your input and feedback.
    Tom

    Not sure if I clearly understand your issue, would be good if you can explain it a bit more clearly.

  • Problem with GET PARAMETER in "O4K_LICENSE" Transaction

    Hi folks,
    I am facing a problem with the usage of "GET PARAMETER ID" in the transaction O4K_LICENSE (IS-oil).
    I have written a BDC which feeds in the License Type, External License type and a few other Mandatory fields to the Transaction, and on saving the transaction, SAP generates an "Internal License Number". This field has a Parameter ID "OIH", and I am using the command
    GET PARAMETER ID 'OIH' FIELD lw_licin.
    For the first pass of the loop, there is a value coming into lw_licin, but in the later loops this Value is not refreshing and the value which is coming into lw_licin is not changing. But the Database table OIHL is getting updated with the correct Internal License number values.
    So, my question is, is there anyway by which i can refresh the SAP Global Memory after every loop pass?
    Or, is there any way out to get the new generated values into lw_licin ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Vijay.

    Hi
    If you clear the parameter, you should transfer a blank value to it:
    DATA: NO_VALUE.
    SET PARAMETER ID <ID> FIELD NO_VALUE.
    Now the problem is this statament should be into loop and i think the transaction only does the GET PARAMETER.
    If transaction doesn't do the SET PARAMETER yuo can do anything.
    In your standard program there should be something like:
    LOOP...
    IF SY-TABIX > 1.
      SET PARAMETER ID <ID> FIELD NO_VALUE.
    ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    but I think it's very hard there is a piece of code like that, and you can do nothing, because you can only set the parameter before calling the transaction (in bdc mode) and after calling the transaction but not while the transaction is working.
    You should change the standard program to do this.

  • Problem with page Parameter

    Hi,
    My requirement is I am passing a url to page with one parameter which I am assigning it to a calndar which has one one parameter. I mapped page parameter to the calendar parameter.
    In the p/sql code before displaying footer section of the calendar I am using
    get_value('pageparamter') But i am getting null value........................
    How should I retrieve that value......... If Iam using bind variable(calendar parameter) in the display before footer section I am getting error........
    Pls tell me the solution as early as possible...........
    Regards,
    radha

    Hi Radha,
    Sorry, I couldn't reply to your email about the same problem you were asking. Here is the code to get the value of the page parameter:
    declare
    l_val varchar2(10);
    begin
    l_val := portal30.wwpro_api_parameters.get_value
    (p_name => 'v_dt_on_mon',
    p_reference_path => p_reference_path);
    end;
    where 'v_dt_on_mon' is the name of the parameter , so you can replace it with your parameter name.

  • Problem with provisioning and external SQL server connection

    I am configuring IPAM 2012 R2 on a our management server.  Completed the first step by enabling the feature.  No issues.
    Now I am on the Provisioning IPAM step.  I get to the Configure Database step...
    I choose Microsoft SQL server,
    What should those values be in the Server name and Database name fields.  Instructions show fqdn or ip address but that doesnt seem to be working for me.
    I get the following error at the end of the Provisioning IPAM wizard,
    IPAM Deployment failed with the following error.
    Failed to connect to database server. Check the database name, connectivity and remote access.
    A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections.
    (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.)
    You can restart this provisioning wizard from the IPAM overview page.
    From the management server I have tested the SQL Connection with a udl file.  I used myServer\myInstance and it works.  It reports that I have made the Connection to the server and database with the sql credentials i have provided.
    Thanks

    Ran
    into a problem with connecting to the DB on the SQL server from the IPAM server.  The Dba and I checked the target SQL instance was enabled TCP and listening on a valid TCP port.  SQL server was set to use port 1443 for incoming connections.
    IPAM was set by default to use 1433.
    Also used
    netstat-n to identify issue and verified 1443 on SQL server was
    being used.  Made the correction under the IPAM provisioning wizard and connected to the database.  Fixed.
    Important note I was able to connect to the database with a .udlfile
    without any issues
    Also note that 2012 R2 IPAM only supports 2012 SQL Enterprise.  Why?

  • Problem with field-length in sql-loader

    Hello,
    (sorry I see it's the wrong forum -> SQL-Developer, I searched for SQL-Loader, is there a possibility to change the forum ?)
    I can't find an answer for my question at google, so I hope there is someone in this forum who can help me.
    I have a dat-File that contains 12 500 000 records and want to laod it via sql-loader. The first field contains the ID and there were numbers from 1 to 12 500 000 stored.
    When I run the sql-loader, the ID run up to 9 999 999 and then, for the last 2 500 001 records, ist starts at 1 again.
    I noticed a few things :
    1. Numbers < 10 000 000 don't make Problems
    2. Numbers >= 10 000 000 make Problems, the first digit ( in this example "1") is cut, so the number "10 000 001" ist stored as "1". It comes to double entries (IDs 1 to 2 500 000).
    3. The same field-definition, I have for the third field of the record -> there is no Problem. THERE I can store any number.
    4. I tried to store a number > 100 000 000 -> the first digit was cut too, but ONLY the first digit.
    5. I'm able to store any number manually in the Database.
    So, I have a problem with the first field. If the number is greater then 10 000 000, the first Number is cut. It doesn't make any differance, if the number is 10 000 000 or 999 999 999, just the first digit, in the first field, is cut.
    Any idea ??????????

  • Lync 2013 and problem with copy/paste from SQL Mgmt Studio.

    Hi Everyone,
    Recently one of ours programmers noticed a very interesting issue which is a real pain in the a## for him and his colleagues. It was all fine with Lync client 2010, problem started when moved some people to 2013 client.
    When someone sends him a message with SQL Code, and he is pasting it into SQL mgmt std. he gets dashes "-" instead of spaces " ".
    I thought this is a local PC issue, but:
    1. On 2010 it worked, stopped all of a sudden when they changed lync client to 2013
    2. They are pasting code on the SERVER not local SQL mgmt std. on their client machines
    3. Even if I send him a code from Lync 2010 and he is pasting that from his 2013 client - he gets "-" dashes, so I guess it is not important from where I send the message, but from where he is copying it.
    As for now, I have noticed that problem with guys from England and region of APAC - they have lync 2013 client already.
    Really appreciate any help as I donot have any point where to start troubleshooting...
    Cheers guys,

    Hi,
    I test the issue with my colleague and didn't find the same issue.
    Here is the screenshot:
    So please check if Lync Server 2013 and all the issued Lync 2013 client update to the latest version firstly, it not update to the latest version, update it and then test again.

  • Problems with Flexible Parameter Passing - Can anyone help with the answer

    Hi,
    having gone to the trouble of creating a generic form handler which utlises the ability of the PL/SQL Gateway to handle flexible parameters, we've come across an almighty problem.
    Whilst the gateway will create two arrays of parameter names and values, it doesn' t seem to handle arrays of values. So, although some of our forms have multi select list form elements, these seem to be incompatible with the Flexible parameter method, as only the first value is returned.
    Does anyone know of a solution to this?
    I really hope so, otherwise the whole methodology is a waste of effort, and I can't imagine why Oracle bothered to include it!
    Here's hoping.
    Thanks
    Dan

    Not sure what flexible parameters are but in the past I've worked on a form that had to pass multiple values (from a multi-select list item) to a report via a single parameter. We did this by creating a pipe delimited ("|") string of all the selected values. Leading and trailing pipes were also added to the concatenated string.
    This was exploded into individual rows by using the statement below:
    WITH t AS (SELECT '|1|2|3|4|' str FROM dual)
    SELECT str, level
    , SUBSTR(str, INSTR(str, '|', 1, level) +1, INSTR(str, '|', 1, level+1)-INSTR(str, '|', 1, level)-1) str2
    FROM t
    CONNECT BY INSTR(str, '|', 2, level) <> 0;
    '|1|2|3|4|' is the value of the passed in parameter.
    So the report query could look something like
    WITH t AS (SELECT SUBSTR(:p_str, INSTR(:p_str, '|', 1, level) +1, INSTR(:p_str, '|', 1, level+1)-INSTR(:p_str, '|', 1, level)-1) itemid
    FROM dual
    CONNECT BY INSTR(:p_str, '|', 2, level) <> 0)
    SELECT a.*
    FROM items a, t
    WHERE a.itemid = TO_NUMBER(t.itemid);
    Hope this helps.

  • Having problems with new WebLogic MS SQL driver WLS 8.1

    Hi,
    We've recently migrated our application from WLS 6.1 to WLS 8.1. We use an MS SQL database. In 6.1 we used the (now deprecated) weblogic.jdbc.mssqlserver4.Driver driver. In 8.1 we now use the new weblogic.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver driver. We now are seeing NullPointerExceptions with the new driver that we never saw when running in 6.1 (with the old driver). The exception is occuring at the driver level. I'll paste some of the stack traces below but here is a quick synopsis of our usage pattern:
    -standard get-use-close pattern on the connection for each request (connection is closed in finally block).
    -pool size: min 1, max 7, increment 5
    -test on reserver enabled
    -we are simply reading data (no updates)
    -we use a single thread that hits the database so there is only ever one active application thread hitting the DB.
    -we are using a stored proc.
    -we setTimeout on the statement (initial testing seems to indicate that query timeout seems to be at the root of the problem)
    The problem seems to occur when statement timeouts occur. I can recreate the problem by setting the statement timeout to 1 sec and throwing a lot data at the DB. What seems to occur is a query hits the timeout and a SocketException is thrown, subsequent queries then throw a NullPointer in the driver layer. Again, this is the behavior under WLS 8.1 with the new weblogic.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver driver. If I use the old driver (weblogic.jdbc.mssqlserver4.Driver) under WLS 8.1 all I get is the SocketException (which is what I want). This application ran under WLS 6.1 with the old driver processing millions of queries without any problems.
    We are wondering:
    (1) Is this a known problem?
    (2) Is there a recommended workaround?
    Cheers, and as always thanks in advance for any help.
    Stack traces follow.
    Thank,
    Mich

    Hi,
    Thanks for the prompt reply. In answer to your questions:
    What I would like to know is the exact code/sequence that causes the subsequent exception. See the sequence of calls at the end of this reply.
    Is this in the same thread in the very next call?
    I replicated the problem by going through the Web container (5 clients) therefore WebLogic threads are used in this case. I see from the logs 4-5 different execute threads at work (ex. ExecuteThread: '10' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default').
    Does it happen all the time?
    Although it is tough to tell for sure, once it starts happening it seems to happen most if not all the time.
    Is it an attempted re-use of the same statement, or trying to use a different statement?
    We do a connection.prepareStatement(QUERY_STRING) call everytime (there is only one per request/response cycle). I believe WLS caches statements behind the scenes though so I suspect at that level there is reuse. There is only one stored proc used (we vary the params per call).
    Please show me your pool definition from the config.xml
    file, and I will send you instructions to produce some
    debug info that will get us to the heart of this matter.
    <JDBCConnectionPool
    DriverName="weblogic.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver"
    MaxCapacity="5" Name="THE POOL"
    PasswordEncrypted="XXX"
    Properties="user=XXX;portNumber=XXX;databaseName=XX;serverName=X.X.X.X"
    Targets="Server"
    TestConnectionsOnReserve="true" TestTableName="TEST_TABLE" URL="jdbc:bea:sqlserver://X.X.X.X:XXX"/>Ok, do these things:
    1 - Add our spy attribute to your pool definition, like this:
    <JDBCConnectionPool
    DriverName="weblogic.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver"
    MaxCapacity="5" Name="THE POOL"
    PasswordEncrypted="XXX"
    Properties="user=XXX;portNumber=XXX;databaseName=XX;serverName=X.X.X.X"
    Targets="Server"
    TestConnectionsOnReserve="true"
    TestTableName="TEST_TABLE"
    URL="jdbc:bea:sqlserver://X.X.X.X:XXX;spyAttributes=(log=(file)spy.log;timestamp=yes)"/>
    2 - Edit the start-weblogic script to add the spy jar (wlspy.jar) to the
    classpath that the script creates for the server, eg:
    set CLASSPATH=%WL_HOME%\server\lib\wlspy.jar;%CLASSPATH%
    3 - Reboot and duplicate the problem as briefly as possible.
    4 - In the same directory where you start the server, you will
    now find a file named 'spy.log'. Please send it to me. ( j o e AT b e a DOT c o m )
    I will try to reproduce the problem.
    5 - Ask BEA support for the latest BEA driver package and install it according to
    their instructions. Let me know asap if the probem is still there.
    thanks

  • Problem with String Parameter in Command

    I'm running CR XI. I have a report that I want to change the command to use a parameter rather than an hard-coded number that I used for testing. The text of the SQL is:
    select j.instrument_type,j.cost_type_cd,j.customer,j.bs, j.product,j.del_pd, j.bl_num, j.date2,j.match,j.jrnl_ref,j.mot_name,
    j.tank_name, j.trade_num ,  j.date3, j.volume,  j.invoice, j.trade_price,
    j.mrkt_price,  j.book_pl,  j.pl,  o.strategy_name, j.snapshot
    from JE_TABLE_{?TName} j,  ORG_STRATEGY o
    where j.STRATEGY in (select o.external_ref from org_strategy o where o.strategy_name='{?StratName}')
    and j.strategy=o.external_ref and j.cost_in_mtm=1
    order by j.PL
    When I added the '{?StratName}' to the SQL, CR started aslways failing telling me I had an invalid character. So, I changed to double quotes and the error message changed to the expected Oracle error becuase it does nto like  double quotes but I did not get the invalid character error.
    This is a string parameter so I need the single quotes. What do I need to do to get CR to handle it? I've used this structure before ino other reports and it never objected to the single quotes before.
    Could the command just be corrupt?

    I decided to create a new blank report and added the command as before and then paramterized it. This time there was no problem. It must be that the other command was corrupt.

  • Hi Experts... (problem with for do an SQL test)

    Hi people,
    I need to do a SQL test in production Environment. I must optimize a SQL statement like "SELECT field_name FROM table_name.". Normally, I'm doing yhis process:
    1. I make a  Z program, with the SQL statement.
    2. I upload the program to Test environment.
    3. Finally, I upload the program to Production Environment an Test it.
    I understand that this is a long way to do test (I think).
    Can someone help me with another idea?
    Thanks!

    Hi friend,
    This question is linked with SQL test issue.
    I 've this SQL sentence:
      DATA: it_ges LIKE zcctbltar OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
      CONSTANTS: l_c_si(2) TYPE c VALUE 'SI'.
      SELECT zmandt zguid_oportunidad zgestor ztipo1 z~tipo2
              ztipo3 zestatus zprioridad zcliente
      APPENDING TABLE it_ges_
      FROM ( zcctbltar AS z INNER JOIN crmd_orderadm_h AS c
             ON zguid_oportunidad = cguid )
      WHERE z~tipo2 = 'ZAP'
      AND c~zztexto27 = l_c_si.
      This sentence needs  6,5 Seconds in INTEGRATION environmet (ZCCTBLTAR have 39.882 items, CRMD_ORDERADM_H have 1.853.334 items).
    The problem is that I need do this process more fast than actually. In PRODUCTION environment, We have 3.179.867 items in CRM_ORDERADM_H (double than INTEGRATION).
    ¿Do U know how optimize this SELECT?
    Thanks,

  • Problem with variables in dynamic SQL/PLSQL

    Hi, I have a problem I am trying to solve using a very short piece of dynamic SQL/PLSQL but I am having problems getting the variable values out of the dynamic block.
    I need to increment a counter which could be any one of 16 counters I am using and I want to avoid using nested IF statements.
    The variable to be incremented is made up of the 'scheme', the 'contributory category' and the 'employment category' (although not every combination is valid)
    The 'scheme' can be either 'no1', 'no2', 'off', 'cg' or 'amc'
    The 'contributory category' can be either 'cont' or 'noncont'
    The 'employment category' can be either 'ft' or 'pt'
    For example the total variable name could be 'v_cg_noncont_ft_count'
    I have created a variable by concatenating the various elements called v_incr_count_name which holds the name of the variable I want to increment.
    I am running this within an anonymous PLSQL block so I cannot use global variables meaning that my variables are not visible within a dynamic PLSQL block.
    As a result I think I will need to use bind variables with a PLSQL block or a SELECT FROM INTO SQL string
    I have tried various solutions including the following PLSQL solution:
    v_incr_count_name := 'v_'||v_scheme||'_'||v_cont_cat||'_'||v_emp_cat||'_count';
    sql_stmt := 'BEGIN :a := :a + 1; END;';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt USING v_incr_count_name;
    Unfortunately I am getting the 'IN bind variable bound to an OUT position' error which I suppose makes sense as I am trying to change the value of a variable in the main PLSQL block from within the dynamic block.
    Another (SQL) solution I tried was:
    v_incr_count_name := 'v_'||v_scheme||'_'||v_cont_cat||'_'||v_emp_cat||'_count';
    sql_stmt := 'SELECT '||v_incr_count_name||' + 1 FROM DUAL';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE sql_stmt INTO v_return;
    While this executes and returns the incremented value into v_return, I am still left unable to copy the returned value into the variable whose name is stored in v_incr_count_name
    Any help appreciated
    Cheers, Dan
