ps.the xml i mentioned is reuter-21578 dataset total size approx 27mb

Just saying "doesn't work" is meaningless. You need to provide details about exactly what went wrong.
However, that's irrelevant here, since this is NOT a good job for regex. Use an XML parser.

  • A problem with regex and special characters

    Hello,
    I am using regex in my application but i have a problem with special characters. Here is the explanation of what i am doing:
    I have a certain piece of text that i want to parse and replace every occurrence of a given word with some sort of a tag which have the word found inside it.
    so that: go Going Go to gOschool by bus and to learn and to play GO Go
    and i need to replace the word "go" (case insensitive and only at word boundaries) should be:
    *<start>go<end> Going <start>Go<end> to gOschool by bus and to learn and to play <start>GO<end> <start>Go<end>*
    Consider the following code and call the method with the parameter"go?"
    The Matcher finds a weird match at the word "G?oing" with only the letter G !!!
    It also ignores the "?" in the pattern completely.
    Any clue of what is happening i would be very grateful...

    because split will not work when trying to replace the first word if i don't append a space at the beginning.Split doesn't work anyway. And my question wasn't why do you add spaces (which you really don't need to do), but why do you do them with " " + "go" rather than just " go"
    replaceAll will replace all the occurrences in the text with only one word. without taking into consideration the case of the word i need to replace.No.
    >
    If i use replacaAll(article, strToFind) the output will be:
    <start>go?<end> G?oing <start>go?<end> to gOschool by bus and to learn and to play <start>go?<end> <start>go?<end>No. I showed you the actual output of an actual replaceAll.
    which is not what i want as i need to keep the case of the words i am replacingThe replaceAll I showed you does that.
    Please study the examples given and read the docs carefully rather than making claims based on inaccurate guesses.

  • Problem with regex being used to filter filenames ...

    I wrote a simple FilenameFilter that takes a regular expression (String) in it's constructor. It uses that regex to determine which files to return when a directory is read using the listFiles(FilenameFilter) syntax.
    The problem I'm having is probably with my regex. If I use a regex like ".*[.]xml", the filter appears to work as I would expect: I get only files that end in XML.
    If on the other hand I try to do a little more complex regex to get all the files that don't end in ".xml", it seems to match everything.
    In my code, I am doing the following:
                    // Only deal with files that don't end in XML
                    fileList = dir.listFiles(new RegexFilenameFilter(".*[.](?!xml).*$"));Where I'm using the regex ".*[.](?!xml).*$", which should match any string that doesn't end with .xml.
    My RegexFilenameFilter follows:

  • Problem with regex patter/matcher

    Hello, I used some code I found in the tutorial and the forums to accomplish some html pattern matching. I'm just now learning regex and I can't figure out how to find each occurance of my pattern. Here's the code.
    import java.util.regex.*;
    public class Parser {
         public Parser() {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              String INPUT = "<tr><td>1st cell</td><td>2nd cell</td></tr>";
              String REGEX = "<td>.*</td>";
              Pattern p = Pattern.compile(REGEX);
              Matcher m = p.matcher(INPUT);
              int count = 0;
              while(m.find()) {
                   count++;
                   System.out.println("Match number " + count);
                   System.out.println("start(): " + m.start());
                   System.out.println("end(): " + m.end());
    }output is:
    Match number 1
    start(): 4
    end(): 38I'm looking for a match for each cell, not the outermost match... I hope that made sense.
    Thanks for the help!

    sabre, i guess your hint is nicer, uh ? ;-)I prefere your regex because I like a closed form of
    termination condition rather than the open .*. I
    suspect that both will work OK for the OP.Funny, I was about to sugest the same you sugested when I hit your post, I prefer the one wiht the lazy search.
    Also, just for fun, I would sugest to do a more generic one with:
    "<(.*?)>(.*?)<\\1>"
    and just because it is fun:
    import java.util.regex.Matcher;
    import java.util.regex.Pattern;

  • RegEx Problem with flag COMMENTS

    Hello,
    I have the following Exception:
    java.util.regex.PatternSyntaxException: Unclosed group near index 9
    when my program is running with this flags:
    Pattern patt = Pattern.compile("^(@#@.+)$", Pattern.MULTILINE | Pattern.COMMENTS);but when I run this:
    Pattern patt = Pattern.compile("^(@#@.+)$", Pattern.MULTILINE);it works fine.
    Any COMMENTS ;-) for this problem? The entire RegEx is much bigger. I want to comment it.
    Thanks sacrofano

    Hi,
    thanks for your help, but it did not work.I did not suggest anything that would work! I was trying to point out that the Javadoc says that everything from # to the end of the pattern is treated as comment.
    I run this
    Pattern patt =
    Pattern.compile("^(?:(@#@.+))$",(Pattern.COMMENTS));[/
    code]So why, based on reading the Javadoc, would you expect this RE to compile? Everything after the # is treated as comment so your effective regular expression is "^(?:(@" which is obviously an invalid RE!
    with same exception as above.
    Is there a problem with the Flag Pattern.COMMENTSNo! RTFD.

    # dumps before they are written to tape and are recommended for most sites.
    # The advantages include: tape drive is more likely to operate in streaming
    # mode (which reduces tape and drive wear, reduces total dump time); multiple
    # dumps can be done in parallel (which can dramatically reduce total dump time.
    # The main disadvantage is that dumps on the holding disk need to be flushed

    #                 mode", as many incrementals as will fit on the holding disk
    #                 are done, higher priority first, to insure the important
    #                 disks are at least dumped.  Default: [priority medium]
    #   program     - specify the dump system to use.  Valid values are "DUMP",
    #                 or "GNUTAR".  Default: [program "DUMP"].
    #   record      - record the backup in the time-stamp-database of the backup
    #                 program (e.g. /etc/dumpdates for DUMP or
    #                 /usr/local/var/amanda/gnutar-lists for GNUTAR.).
    #                 Default: [record yes]
    #   skip-full   - skip the disk when a level 0 is due, to allow full backups
    #                 outside Amanda, eg when the machine is in single-user mode.
    #   skip-incr   - skip the disk when the level 0 is NOT due.  This is used in
    #                 archive configurations, where only full dumps are done and
    #                 the tapes saved.
    #   starttime   - delay the start of the dump?  Default: no delay
    #   strategy    - set the dump strategy.  Valid strategies are currently:
    #                 "standard" - the standard one.
    #                 "nofull"   - do level 1 dumps every time.  This can be used,
    #                              for example, for small root filesystems that
    #                              only change slightly relative to a site-wide
    #                              prototype.  Amanda then backs up just the
    #                              changes.
    #                 "noinc"    - do level 0 dumps every time.
    #                 "skip"     - skip all dumps.  Useful for sharing a single
    #                              disklist in several configurations.
    #                 "incronly" - do only incremental dumps. This is similar
    #                              to strategy 'nofull', but will increase
    #                              the dump level as usual. Full dumps will
    #                              only be performed when an 'amadmin force'
    #                              has been issued
    #                 Default: [strategy standard]
    # tape_splitsize - (optional) split dump file into pieces of a specified size.
    #                 This allows dumps to be spread across multiple tapes, and can
    #                 potentially make more efficient use of tape space.  Note that
    #                 if this value is too large (more than half the size of the
    #                 average dump being split), substantial tape space can be
    #                 wasted.  If too small, large dumps will be split into
    #                 innumerable tiny dumpfiles, adding to restoration complexity.
    #                 A good rule of thumb, usually, is 1/10 of the size of your
    #                 tape.  Default: [disabled]
    # split_diskbuffer - (optional) When dumping a split dump  in  PORT-WRITE
    #                 mode (usually meaning "no holding disk"), buffer the split
    #                 chunks to a file in the directory specified by this option.
    #                 Default: [none]
    # fallback_splitsize - (optional) When dumping a split dump  in  PORT-WRITE
    #                 mode, if no split_diskbuffer is specified (or if we somehow
    #                 fail to use our split_diskbuffer), we must buffer split
    #                 chunks in memory.  This specifies the maximum size split
    #                 chunks can be in this scenario, and thus the maximum amount
    #                 of memory consumed for in-memory splitting.  Default: [10m]
    # Note that you may specify previously defined dumptypes as a shorthand way of
    # defining parameters.
    define dumptype global {
        comment "Global definitions"
        # This is quite useful for setting global parameters, so you don't have
        # to type them everywhere.  All dumptype definitions in this sample file
        # do include these definitions, either directly or indirectly.
        # There's nothing special about the name `global'; if you create any
        # dumptype that does not contain the word `global' or the name of any
        # other dumptype that contains it, these definitions won't apply.
        # Note that these definitions may be overridden in other
        # dumptypes, if the redefinitions appear *after* the `global'
        # dumptype name.
        # You may want to use this for globally enabling or disabling
        # indexing, recording, etc.  Some examples:

        # record no
        # split_diskbuffer "/raid/amanda"
        # fallback_splitsize 64m
    define dumptype always-full {

        compress none
        priority high
        dumpcycle 0

    I just bought the LG ALLY and would love to have the Accuweather widget on the phone. My problem is while my phone shows the correct time, (I am on Eastern here, but about 15 miles away in Illinois they are on Central) the Accuweather Widget is off by an hour showing Central time. I tried to sync it, but I can't find it in my list of sync-able programs. If someone can help it would be greatly appreciated. It's frustrating both me and a co-worker with the same phone/problem.
    Thank you!

    I have the same issue, Amanda. The weather widget that comes with the Ally was poorly written. The time issue is bad enough, but it takes up more screen space than is visible. Try it, if you touch and hold on the space below the widget, it will select it. This also means you can't add widgets or icons directly below it, resulting in a great deal of wasted space.

  • Business Rule - Problem with Validation Execution

    I'm running into an issue where conditional Validation Execution is not working as expected. The background is that i have an Entity Object containing a few string attributes on which i must apply Regular Expression business rules to make sure only characters in a certain range is set. I am using a Not Matches regex on the following:
    .*[^\u0020-\uD7FF].*1 attribute is required, 2 are optional. The problem I am experiencing is with the 2 optional attributes.
    Since these are optional, I intended to use the Validation Execution tab so that the Rule is executed only when the attribute is not null. For example, here is what i tried for an attribute named Comments:
    Comments != nullNo validation occurred when I entered an invalid value, such as a string containing line breaks, in a corresponding ADF Faces page. For the heck of it, i experimented by setting the validation execution to the opposite of what i should be - in other words, trigger validation if the attribute is null, such as:
    Comments == nullWith this, the validation occurred as expected.
    Is this a bug, or am I misunderstanding something? I'm not particularly good with RegEx - is it possible this is due to some nuance of the expression?
    Version: JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.
    Thanks-
    -george

    i'm not sure if this is the correct answer or a workaround to the issue i had asked about. Given that caveat, if anyone else ever runs across this thread, what i found worked was to not use the attribute name in the Validation Execution tab's expression, but instead to just newValue as in the following:
    newValue != null

  • Problems with libclntsh.so.10.1 and PHP/Apache HTTPD

    Hello,
    I've been wrestling with the install of Instant Client/OCI8 with PHP 5.0.4 and Apache HTTPD 2.0.52 on RHEL4 ES. Most recently I've followed the instructions detailed here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/notes/technote_php_instant.html
    Apache is installed from the RHN rpm.
    PHP was successfully compiled with the following parameters:
    ./configure with-mysql with-ssl with-ldap with-apxs2 with-dom with-oci8-instant-client=/usr/local/oracle/instantclient_10_2 --enable-sigchild
    I've also attempted to get OCI8 working using the full Administration Client from CD. In either case, I can compile/install PHP just fine. I've indexed the Instant Client directory with ldconfig, and the user that runs HTTPD has read/execute permissions on libclntsh.so.10.1 and on all the directories above it. Nonetheless, when I start Apache, I invariably run into the following error:
    # /etc/init.d/httpd start
    Starting httpd: Syntax error on line 190 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
    Cannot load /usr/lib/httpd/modules/libphp5.so into server: libclntsh.so.10.1: failed to map segment from shared object: Permission denied [FAILED]
    Thanks in advance for any insight,
    Patrick

  • Txt to xml. Problems with characters(&, , ',...)

    I want to generate a xml file with text from a txt file but i have problems with special characters such as &, <... I'd like to know if theres any class or library to filter the text in order to generate my xml without problems.
    Thank you.

    Use JDOM to generate your XML. It will worry about escaping issues for you.
    Here's a (probably rather inelegant) example for you to play around with:
    import javax.xml.parsers.*;
    import javax.xml.transform.*;
    import javax.xml.transform.dom.DOMSource;
    import javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamResult;
    import org.w3c.dom.*;
    public class DateBoom {
         public static void main(String[] args)
              throws Exception
              DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
              DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
              String dodgyText = "< & '";
              Document document = builder.newDocument();
              Element root = document.createElement("root");
              root.setAttribute("dodgy",dodgyText);
              document.appendChild(root);
              Element child = document.createElement("child");
              root.appendChild(child);
              child.appendChild(document.createTextNode(dodgyText));
              Transformer transform = TransformerFactory.newInstance().newTransformer();
              Source source = new DOMSource(document);
              Result result = new StreamResult(System.out);
              transform.transform(source,result);
    }Your alternative is to use something like String regular expressions (regex) to do this manually, but the XML oriented libraries will catch more corner cases than you're likely to anticipate, making them more reliable.

  • Further help with regex

    Hi,
    I want to detect the presence of "fromCharCode" in a String.
    But only when it is not preceded by "String." and not followed by "(34)".
    I have already managed to do the "String." with this regex: (?<!string\.)fromCharCode --> uses the negative look behind
    This will detect the "fromCharCode", but not when it is preceded by "String.".
    But I don't know how to do the "(34)" ?
    Can somebody help me with this?

    thanks, but the problem with this regex now is that "fromCharCode" is not detected in the String fromCharCode(34) and the String String.fromCharCode.
    The text "fromCharCode" must only be detected when not preceded by "String." AND not followed by "(34)".
    Can you do this?

    I changed FileInbound.xml to:

    </FileConfiguration>
    can anyone tell me what is wrong?
    Regards
    Szymon

    Hi Szymon,
    this was not easy to see. In the FileInbound.xml for the tag ObjectType please change "id" into "Id":
    <CSV>
         <ObjectType Id="Z.F.AnySystem_WEB_B1QUTN">
              <field>Customer</field>
              <field>Item</field>
              <field>Quantity</field>
              <field>Price</field>
         </ObjectType>
    </CSV>
    Now the columns should get their names as expected.
    Best regards
    Bastian

  • Having connection problems with Mail after installing 10.9.4

    I upgraded to 10.9.4 a few days ago, and ever since, I've been having connection problems with Mail. First, it stops downloading new mail automatically and second, it won't send any of my messages. When I try to send, I get a message that it is unable to connect.
    Quitting Mail and restarting it seems to clear the problem, but then it happens again, maybe an hour or two later.

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
    Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
    There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
    ☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
    ☞ Paste into the window of another application.
    ☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
    ☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
    The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
    4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
    Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
    and press return. Then paste the script again.
    9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
    If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
    [Process completed]
    to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
    11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
    At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start Time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
    If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    12. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    Note: This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

  • Problems with deploying file to one of the managed servers on a cluster

    We are running Weblogic 10.3.
    When I start both managed servers from the Admin Console, one fails with the error below and in Admin state, but the other managed server starts up correctly.
    The only difference from when it was first working is that the managed server ServerBox1 was imaged and loaded onto new hardware and all network/os properties configured the same as the old box.

    Hi Partha. Did you get a solution to your problem with high connection delay times on your server? I'm having a similar problem and saw your post.
    Thanks,

  • Problems with matcher.find()

    Hi,
    Here is what I'm trying to do. Read one (or more later) files...one line at a time and compare it with a regular expresion to extract email addresses.
    Here is my code:
    public final class RegExpressions {
        private static String REGEX;
        private static String INPUT;
        private static BufferedReader br;
        private static Pattern pattern;
        private static Matcher matcher;
        private static boolean found, b;
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
            initResources();
    private static void initResources() {
           try {
                      br = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("titleInfo.txt"));
           catch (FileNotFoundException fnfe) {
                System.out.println("Cannot locate input file! "+fnfe.getMessage());
                System.exit(0);
           try {
                REGEX = "(((\\w)(.)*)+@)";
                INPUT = null ;
                INPUT = br.readLine();
                pattern = Pattern.compile(REGEX);
                while ((INPUT = br.readLine()) != null)
                     // Reset the matcher to begin its next match starting at
                     // the beginning of the newly-read line.
                     matcher.reset(INPUT);
                     matcher = pattern.matcher(INPUT);
                     // Search for a match. A Boolean true value returns if a
                     // match is found.
                     System.out.println("Current INPUT is: "+INPUT);
                     b = matcher.find();
                     System.out.println ("matcher.find() is: " +b);
                     if (matcher.find())
                          System.out.println (INPUT);
           } catch(IOException ioe){}
           catch(PatternSyntaxException pse) {
               System.out.println("There is a problem with the regular expression!");
               System.out.println("The pattern in question is: "+pse.getPattern());
               System.out.println("The description is: "+pse.getDescription());
               System.out.println("The message is: "+pse.getMessage());
               System.out.println("The index is: "+pse.getIndex());
               System.exit(0);
            System.out.println("Current REGEX is: "+REGEX);
            System.out.println("Current INPUT is: "+INPUT);
        }The file I read in looks like this:
    Integration of Scheduling and Replication in Data Grids
    Anirban Chakrti Depak R.A. Shuhis Supta
    Software Engineering and Technology Laboratory
    Something Something Ltd.
    My City, Horse Road
    Bangalore 560 100, India
    Tel: 91 80 852 0261
    Fax: 91 80 852 0740
    {an_chakrti, depak_ra, shuhis_supta }@address.com
    Now what happens is that matcher.find() never finishes executing. Meaning my programs gets stuck at that particular line. I tested with Print statements before and after...etc. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks

    the only problem is that some of the emails do not contain the full names. For example if from the text below I extract the email addresses...
    Reckoning Legislative Compliances with Service Oriented Architecture
     A Proposed Approach1
    Naveen N. Kulkarni K M Senthil Kumar Dr. Srinivas Padmanabhuni
    Software Engineering and Technology Labs, Infosys Technologies Ltd., Bangalore, India.
    {naveen_kulkarni,senthil_km,srinivas_p}@infosys.com
    ....and I'm also able to tokenize them (into naveen and kulkarni for example). How do I use this information to extract the names, which have me mentioned earlier on in the text. The format in which the names are written is not the same. ie it differs from paper to paper. Here is the idea I had....
    it seems that the first part of the email address always exists as it in the full name. If I used that in a regular expression...and went through the text file again trying to match that reg exp...that should work shouldn't it?
    here is my attempt...doesn't work though....any ideas...or an explanation why my code doesn't work?
        private static void extractNames() {
           try {
                      br = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("titleInfo.txt"));
           catch (FileNotFoundException fnfe) {
                System.out.println("Cannot locate input file! "+fnfe.getMessage());
                System.exit(0);
           try {
                for (int i=0; i<emails.length;i++){
                     int index = emails.indexOf("_");
              if (emails[i].indexOf("_") != -1){
                   StringBuffer firstName = new StringBuffer(temp.substring(0,index));
                   REGEX = "((.)[ ])*"+firstName+"((.)[ ])";
              pattern = Pattern.compile(REGEX); // I get a null pointer exception on this line...?
         while ((INPUT = br.readLine()) != null )
                   matcher = pattern.matcher(INPUT);
              System.out.println("Current INPUT is: "+INPUT);
              System.out.println ("Matche found? " +b);
              if (matcher.find()){
                   System.out.println (INPUT);
                   System.exit(0);
    } catch(IOException ioe){}
    catch(PatternSyntaxException pse) {
    System.out.println("There is a problem with the regular expression!");
    System.out.println("The pattern in question is: "+pse.getPattern());
    System.out.println("The description is: "+pse.getDescription());
    System.out.println("The message is: "+pse.getMessage());
    System.out.println("The index is: "+pse.getIndex());
    System.exit(0);
    System.out.println("Current REGEX is: "+REGEX);
    System.out.println("Current INPUT is: "+INPUT);
    Thanks!

  • Problem with email regular expression

    I found the following regular expression from this website : http://www.regular-expressions.info/email.html
    \b[A-Z0-9._%+-]+@[A-Z0-9.-]+\.[A-Z]{2,4}\bor
    ^[A-Z0-9._%+-]+@[A-Z0-9.-]+\.[A-Z]{2,4}$I am using the following website to check its success, as well as my java app. : http://www.regexplanet.com/simple/index.html
    of course java has a problem with the illegal escape character so i add another "/".
    In both of my testing scenarios the regex value seems to fail. Am I missing something here?
    If anyone could also test this regex and verify or correct my problem I would be very grateful.

    Also, if you show your actual Java code (in code tags, of course), and describe clearly and precisely what's going wrong--pasting in the exact, complete error message and indicating clearly which line caused it, if there is one--people will be in a better position to help you.
