Problem with running commands

Hi everybody !
I'm having a form which on being submitted runs a Linux Shell Script using the Runtime class .
Shell script consists of a command which prompts the user his username/password . I may sound absurd , but I want to know whether is it possible if I could prompt the user through GUI i.e my JSP page at this point of time .

Problem with runas command. Elevation error

Running on Win 8.1 Pro I'm facing a problem with runas.
What I'm trying to do is launch an mmc as my domain admin account.
Therefore I type this command from an elevated cmd (Right-click "Run as Administrator"):
runas /user:Contoso\MyDomainAdmin /noprofile mmc
This worked like a charm in Windows 7, and on my Win81Pro client it yields:
RUNAS ERROR: Unable to run - mmc
740: The requested operation requires elevation.
The account I'm logged in with, is local admin, and the UAC slider is set in the bottom.
In the eventviewer, I only see some special logons where my normal account is trying to impersonate my domain admin account, and the next event, the domain admin's session is destroyed.
If this is by design, how would I then run mmc as my domain admin and at the same time avoid its credentials being stored on the local machine?

yes, you need to be local admin to be able to elevate!
I've tested this on a system here and I reproduce the issue you encountered. Some investigation showed running a program that requires elevation using runas is not possible http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb756922.aspx

The drivers that you need to install to make your executable work depends on what your executable is doing. To get started, you need to have the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine installed on your target machine (the Win2000 machine you are planning to use) in order to run your executable. Next, you need to determine what drivers your executable uses, if any. For example, if you are using GPIB instrument control, you will need to install the NI-488 drivers on your target machine. If you are performing data acquisition, you will need to install NI-DAQ drivers. If you are doing image acquistion, you will need to install NI-IMAQ drivers.
All these drivers are available for downloading on ni.com. To get the drivers, go to ht
tp://www.ni.com/support , click on the link that takes you to Drivers and Updates (under Option 3), and click on the links to get to the driver(s) you need. For example, if you need the LabVIEW 5.1.1 Run-Time engine, click on the All Drivers and Updates by Application link on the main page (http://www.ni.com/softlib.nsf/). Then click on the LabVIEW link, Windows 2000, Run Time Engine, and then you will see the link to get to the page to download the LabVIEW 5.1.1 Run-Time Engine.

Problem with running the midlet class (Error with Installation suite )

hi everyone...
i have problem with running the midlet class(BluetoothChatMIDlet.java)
it keep showing me the same kind of error in the output pane of netbeans...
which is:

i did that but also didnt work out..
could any1 teach me how to fix it...

actually, i do my FYP on bluetooth chatting...
and there will be more than two emulators running at the same time..
one of my frens said that if u want to run more than one emulator u just simply click on run button..
and it will appear on the screen..

dear all
i ve a problem with running javabean in forms 9i all codes, program units are correct. i think there is something with classpath which i dont where to put the path of bean jar files. however the simple code for the Colorpicker and keyFilter dont work when clicking the button to fire the trigger to bring the bean up.

Make sure you've entered the implementation class (do not append the class extension). For example, if you have a class example.class in the package otn.oracle.forum, the implementation class should be: otn.oracle.forum.example
Make sure you place the containing java archive in <OH>/forms90/java and do not forget to update the configuration section (default or app specific) parameter archive_jini accordingly.

[SOLVED] Problem with running GUI apps as root

I have a serious problem with running any kind of software having GUI as root, which is indispensable for editing system files. For example I want to edit /etc/pacman.conf file with KWrite, and here's what I get

Problems with running Applet through HTML

I am currently having problems with running my file through the HTML. For some reason when I open it in the browser it keeps saying Error. I am programming in NetBeans.
The code I am using is:

Problem with running rhcl.exe in batch file

Hi,
I'm running Robohelp 8 and trying to use rhcl.exe to generate multiple help projects. I'm having a problem with the folder where the rhcl.exe is generating the web help. It seems to ignore the "-o" switch and gets the generation folder from the project all the time. As you can see from the log file below, the exe appears to pick up the "-o" path (......\Test\Opportunities.htm), but writes the generated files to the path in the project (.....\Opportunities\index.htm).
Anyone else come across this problem?

Problems with running a scipt in SuSE Linux

Hiya,
Need some help please. I'm writing an application in SuSE linux and I'm having trouble porting it over from my SuSE 9.1 Pro desktop - to my SuSE 9.2 laptop.
I'll try and keep it as brief and simple as possible so here goes;
Firstly, everything works perfectly on my desktop which is running SuSE 9.1 Pro (which the program was written in)
The problem is running the exact same code on my laptop which is running SuSE 9.2 Pro.
The line of code that is causing me the problem is this:
Runtime.getRuntime().exec("bash -c /home/bryan/.annwn/scripts/annwnCommand.gmt");As you can see, all I'm trying to do is run a simple script (that will execute a bunch of commands and create an image.)
Now, this code works perfectly when run on my desktop - but will not run on my laptop.
When I try to run the code with my program on my laptop, nothing happens. However, if I run this on the command line:
bash -c /home/bryan/.annwn/scripts/annwnCommand.gmtThe script is run - It works pefectly. It also works on the command line if I just do:
/home/bryan/.annwn/scripts/annwnCommand.gmtThe only difference in my development environment is SuSE 9.2 over SuSE 9.1 - but I cannot see how this would affect this command not running from within my application.
So, can you see any reason at all why the command would work perfectly on SuSE 9.1 (and through my application), and perfectly on the command line of SuSE 9.2 - but not when run through my application?
I know it's a long shot, and it's a pretty vague problem - but if you can think of anything. I'd be very, very grateful.

I'm running both applications as the same user. All other aspects of the application and code work perfectly - just running that script using the Runtime method.
Basically, everything is exactly the same between to the two machines - only the difference in OS version.
I'm guessing that it well may be a Linux problem, sorry if this is the wrong forum. I'm just at a complete loss with this!

I am able to run the java command on the command promt, but other commands like javap,javac are not working, its saying
"javap not recognized and internal or external command operable program or batch file"

I have written a program and have no problem to compile it. But when I try to run it by typing:
java filename ,
I get an error message saying: "Exception in Thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Filename.."

Hi there,
I believe it's a problem with your CLASSPATH settings.
You can either set ur CLASSPATH in ur Autoexec.bat file by typing the following:
SET CLASSPATH=.;%CLASSPATH%
where,
1. "." refers to the current directory your compiled class files are found (i.e. the default directory that your class file will be generated when you compile ur .java file)
2. %CLASSPATH% appends whatever you have already set in ur CLASSPATH settings before, to the current one you be setting, i.e. "." - the current directory.
However, to save urself from all these hassle, you may want to try executing the following command:
java -cp . filename
replace "filename" with the filename of ur .class file.
It should work.

Problems with running EIGRP as PE-CE routing protocol 2

Dear all,
I am facing with the exact problem as a previous user of running EIGRP as the PE-CE routing protocol for a MPLS VPN customer, but in different hardware. The PE router is a 7609-S RSP720-3CXL-GE running IOS 12.2(33)SRC3.
(When I have 33 prefixes or more in the VRF table on the PE, and I try to advertise this network to the CE router (by redistributing BGP into EIGRP), the EIGRP process begins to flap.
I can't advertise prefix more that 32 subnets at a time why?????
The very weird part here, is that when I do debug ip eigrp on the PE and the CE, I can see that the PE router is sending the routes to the CE, but on the CE I can see nothing.)
In my case there is 16 prefixes. When redistributing BGP into EIGRP on allready adjasent EIGRP neighbors everything works perfect, until some side clears it then it begans flaping. On PE router debug is show "retry limit exceeded" ,on CE "Interface Goodbye received"
If solution will be same what software should I use?

Let me ask a few questions:
What is the link layer technology that interconnects the PE and CE that are currently experiencing these issues?
Are there any devices inside the PE-CE path that could at least possibly (and randomly) block multicasts and/or large packets?
Is it possible to modify the EIGRP configuration both on PE and CE to manual neighbor definition using the neighbor commands? This would force all EIGRP comunication between the PE and CE to run as unicast, possibly avoiding some issues with multicast packet delivery.
Is it possible for you to post some show commands from both the PE and CE? I would be interested in seeing the show ip interface, show interfaces, show running-config interface regarding the particular interfaces on PE and CE that connect to each other, and also, I would like to see the EIGRP configuration on both devices.
I agree with the assessment of Mahesh - the preliminary information we have suggest that either the PE packets are not arriving at the CE, or the ACK packets from CE are not arriving back at the PE. Your own debug analysis furthermore revealed that there are no EIGRP Update packets arriving from the PE at the CE. Problems with MTU could indeed cause these problems but it is necessary to inspect the entire path between PE and CE.

I am unable to run Bash shell scripts on the UNIX Terminal application.

Is this a problem with the the default installation of the Bash shell? Can I install the Bash shell on my own? If so, how can I do that?
Also, how can I get the dynamic linker, dyld, to refer to the symbol "_BC"? What does this symbol "_BC" refer to?

You are NOT running the default bash, you are trying to run a private copy.
The default Mac OS X bash is located at
/bin/bash
Try the following:
/bin/bash ./test1.sh
Does that work?
What is the first line of your script? Is it:
#!/bin/bash
Or maybe
#!/usr/bin/env bash
/usr/bin/env would find the first bash in PATH . I find this most useful for finding perl on different systems, but sh, ksh, bash, zsh, csh, tcsh are all generally found in /bin so I do not bother using /usr/bin/env
And if you have
#!/usr/local/bin/bash
Then the person that wrote test1.sh choose to use something besides the default bash
Or maybe this script was transferred from some system where you needed to put your own copy of bash in /usr/local/bin because the vendor does not distribute bash
Then again, you have not showed us what is inside your script, so it is possible something in the script called something else which invoked the /usr/local/bin/bash
If that is the case, then you might try:
/bin/bash -x ./test1.sh
which should show you the commands executed before it died.

Problem with shell commands and scripts from an Applescript Application

Hi-
I am fairly new to OSX software development. I am trying to build an application that creates a reverse SSH tunnel to my computer and starts OSXvnc. The idea is that my Mom or anyone else who needs help can connect to me without having to tinker with their firewalls.
There are plenty of resources on how to do this, and I have found them. What I have a problem with is the following.
I am building this application in Xcode as an Applescript application, because Applescript and shell scripting are the only forms of programming I know. I use an expect script to connect through SSH, and a "do shell script" for the raw OSXvnc-server application to allow screen sharing.
The problem is that when I click on the button to launch OSXvnc-server or the button to launch SSH, the application freezes until the process it spawns is killed or finishes. For example, I can set SSH to timeout after 60 seconds of no connection, and then the Applescript application responds again. I even tried using the ssh -f command to fork the process, but that doesn't seem to help.
I am also using "try" around each of the items.
What am I doing wrong? How can I make the buttons in my app launch SSH and OSXvnc-server without hanging the application while it waits for them to finish?
